will it blend, special ES edition!
today we've got dolls! lots of dolls!
*stuffing dolls into a blender*
let's set the blender into "purpose" mode, these dolls need lots of it!
*the dolls all start awawaing as the metal blades spin and grind dollflesh into glass dust*
*opens the lid after the blender is finished*
wow, stillness smoke! don't breathe this! unless you want to join these dolls of course!

Orko filling in for the “Will it Blend?” Guy
[ID in ALT!]
Orko helping the Will It Blend Guy. As long as he doesn't stick Orko in the blender, they're cool.

Fixing My Poster (illustration) - L03
bring my drawing into inDesign I re did my type. I noticed that was too much of a juxtaposition between the spark and clean blue shapes I used before so I decided to use ovals to carry that roundness through the rest of the design. I also was ware that my body copy should almost never go from edge to edge so I reargued the text into some columns.
After all this was said and done I felt my poster was giving off a vintage vibe so I decided to lean more heavily into it adding some distressing textures to further that motif
I think fixing all the problems with arrangement and type really lets my illustrations shine more and Im much more satisfied with this outcome than before.

SP- Will It Blend? Launch
Week 1
1 week project, to introduce themes and practices of the term that will be looking at ISTD/RSA briefs
Aims of this 1 week project - be experimental and creative, and warm up the practices, techniques and ideation methods that I will be transferring onto the main units body of work
My 2 words are 'Sodium' and 'Elect'.
Experiment to create 6 outcomes that combine the 2 words. Play with visual metaphors that could portray a new concept. Think about how this can be communicated through different mediums.
Use Photography, Animation, Type, Illustration, Colour and Sound to portray these.
Rough TimeLine:
MindMap both words, find similarities, differences, possible different meanings to the words, interpretations, origins, etc.
Research into theory around blending and communication methods such as Cognitive Linguistics, Metaphor Theory, Conceptual Blending.
Start to ideate about how to combine these concepts with the different interpretations and strands of thought from the MindMaps.
Go out and start drawing, taking photos and being inspired by the world around to begin ideating how to visually combine concepts, and forms of creating hierarchy, colour, balance and other design principles.
Look at artists who combine concepts visually such as collage, those that play with humour, contrast. Ones that mix concepts, or mix different medias in their artworks.
Come up with 6 concepts, 1 for each medium.
Start to create these concepts, spend about an hour on each, as they don't need to be too polished or refined!

I’m surprised there’s no “Will It Blend” posts in the tag, so let me introduce y’all to one of my favorite inane things from my teen years:
WILL IT BLEND? (That is the question)
The whole thing reads like a surrealist joke or like a neo-dada skit.
Do we know most of the stuff will blend? Probably.
Is it still fun to watch and find out? Yeah…
And he always follows the same format, so you know he’s going to say “will it blend” and “(insert whatever he’s blending that day) smoke. Don’t breathe that.”
