time passes and i reset but whenever i come back to it i remember why before you hit the ground by ducky-san is my fav nm fic. sure its in first person. not my fav thing in fanfic but i can tolerate it. yuka is SO terrible in it but i give this fic a pass for it (they also do my boy hayate dirty) bc i love the rest of the fic enough to forgive it. mikan gets dragged into things bc shes stupid. SPOT On. most of the danger she gets into? entirely bc shes like "im curious abt natsume even tho i dont like him" RIDICULOUS. she makes me cringe SO OFTEN i love it. i need more cringefail women out there and before you hit the ground mikan and bridget jones are carrying that genre on their backs. whenever i start reading it i just get so wrapped up in it--it always ends up becoming a binge read. this fic is so important to me ive got it bookmarked on my browser so i can read whenever i feel the whim come up.

i'm honestly so obsessed with eleanor and peter's dynamic already - peter is just immediately fond of her. he just, he likes her right off the bat. she's charismatic, and brave, and peter knows it right out of the gate.

peter's so ready to sign those adoption papers. he loves eleanor already. she's everything that he loves in wade.

peter's perpetually in eleanor's corner - he's the soft-willed fun parent - if she can't get her way with wade, she'll run to peter and know that he literally cannot say no.

he thinks that means he's the favourite, but eleanor is a master manipulator just like her biological father and knows exactly who to talk to and what to say to get everything she wants. so if she knows she won't win with wade, she'll trick peter into her bidding. peter is but a naïve pawn in eleanor's games. he believes she can do no wrong, even though every ounce of wade wilson's wickedness courses through her veins. and sometimes eleanor double crosses peter. she has no loyalty. it shocks peter to his core, every time, but she's one step ahead of him, every time.

i can't wait for you guys to see how diabolical eleanor is going to be. oh my god. ohhh my god. see, peter and wade both have dormant supervillain potential within them that they suppress, but eleanor's supervillain gene is Active and she is a Horror.

Until then, she's gotta sneak her hugs in where she can, because he's certainly not going to initiate. And now is the best time for it, with Han Yoohyun off on a dungeon raid for another few days.

So she's on the sofa with him, tucked against his side with her head on his shoulder, as he watches something on TV—the news, maybe? She closed her eyes and zoned out a while ago. It's late, okay? And whatever he's watching is boring. Don't blame her.

...Probably would be a good idea to sleep, though, at some point. Which ahjussi also acknowledges, seeing as he rests a gentle hand in her hair. "Yerim-ah?" he says.

Nooo. She's so comfortable here. Yerim grumbles, turning her head to bury her face in his shoulder. He laughs softly; she feels his head shift as he looks down at her. "Yerim-ah, come on," he says, "you need to brush and change and go to sleep."

Noooooooo. Sleepy.

Ahjussi sighs and shifts. She almost goes to grab him—but, well, he is right, she does need to go—except he just turns so that his back is facing her, and reaches back to tug her hands over his shoulders and around his neck. "Just this once," he warns as he guides her legs around his waist, pulling her against himself. His hands are normally cool enough that the warmth of him is a shock.

She'd shriek and pull away, worried at making him lift her weight—she's almost as big as him! isn't she heavy?—but there's an old memory springing to the forefront of her mind. Warm hands and soft laughter and a kiss pressed against her hair. Just this once repeated a dozen times over.

By the time she comes back to herself, he's already hefted her up. Already on the way to her room. She swallows, unable to bring herself to pull away, and uses Hermes' Sandals to make herself a little lighter.
