This isn't our usual Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, or even British GQ (and seriously, what's crawled up their ass lately?) This is from someone in a space that is one of the biggest targets of the movie--parents, children, and families. With all the bullshit churning from people who were expecting some dark, brooding Wonka from Hollywood's sultry, edgy, redefining masculinity internet boyfriend, it is nice to see that there is also appreciation for fun and lightheartedness. ❤️

"Seeing Chalamet as a young Willy Wonka makes perfect sense as he has the perfect combo of childlike innocence with a tinge of mystery. The trailer provides a taste of what we will learn about Willy Wonka and it’s all little details that will make fans of the original movie gasp with big excitement... I just watched Wonka trailer #2 where we are given a first glimpse of the chocolate room. I was skeptical when I first heard this movie was announced, but now that I can see where they've gone with the art direction, I am very, very happy. The chocolate room looks beautiful. I believe they have captured the true atmosphere of what this story is meant to be. Bright, warm colors with golden hues, and accents of rainbow "candy colors."

Something I never liked about the 2005 adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the Tim Burtonesque art direction. I enjoy and admire Tim Burton's art style, but it never fit with Willy Wonka. It was just too dark. It was all wrong for the character, the chocolate room, and the overall story.

Anyway, I am very happy. I believe they are truly trying to please CatCF and Roald Dahl fans this time around.
