Bias: Woozi

I’m really so obsessed with Seventeen recently! I just love everything they do, from performances to chill and crazy moments in Going Seventeen. I love them all dearly, but I will save my appreciation post for other members for next time. Today, I’ll just talk about my top 2!

Woozi

Honestly, I adore all the Seventeen members, but I really can’t deny - Woozi is one of the backbones (if not the ultimate backbone member) of the whole group.

- I definitely think he’s the most overworked member of Seventeen. Arguably one of the most overworked in Kpop?

- Main producer and songwriter. As part of this, he also checks and approves the lyrics made by the rap line.

I am so convinced he is a music genius!

Great vocals! - I was honestly so surprised when I first heard “Home” raw live vocals in a radio show (in YouTube). Him singing “어쩌겠어 난 네가 없으면” in the chorus gave me chills. It was a short line but it was done so perfectly, so cleanly and powerfully, even better than what’s in the recording. I doubted for a second that it was recorded and if it was really him, but it was 100% live Woozi!

Instrument king - Can play piano, guitar, drums, and even clarinet. There could be more, but I’m already so amazed! (Big fan of instruments here, especially those who were classically trained like Woozi, because classical music really isn’t easy!) If I keep talking about this, I will never end this post. He’s amazing!

Composer, songwriter and producer of beautiful songs! - As I mentioned, Seventeen’s songs are really my vibe, from first listen until now, I really love their music. And I just keep enjoying it more the more I listen to it. Knowing that a member wrote, composed, and produced the song really made me a fan girl. Woozi is so talented! I actually just saw a video yesterday where a popular songwriter for kpop chose Woozi as the songwriting idol that is able to write great lyrics. (Update: I’ve now seen so many professional lyricists, producers, and A&Rs randomly praising Woozi’s talent in random interviews that aren’t Seventeen-related.)

I just wanna add that Woozi is still so young (96 line) but he’s sitting at the top of the list of idols with most song credits, along with other idols who are older than him! And to think he actually composes and arranges whole songs too, rather than just writing lyrics like most people do! He’s already got more than 100 credits, considering he only started about 5 years ago. This guy is a machine! He must be so rich even just with loyalties! No wonder he always treats Seventeen members to meals. (Yes, stan this very generous leader too!)

Great dancer - Just being a member of Seventeen already proves you’re a great dancer (no dance hole of any kind at all in Seventeen!). But I even saw a comment from a professional dancer in YouTube once who said that Woozi is one of the best dancers he’s seen in kpop. (I also just learned he actually used to be in the Performance unit as a trainee and was supposed to be SVT main leader but he declined!)

I’ve never heard him rap, but they say he can rap well too? Not surprising, considering he actually checks the lyrics the rap line writes (and makes them re-write it if it doesn’t fit his standards for the song). Lol I stan meticulous Woozi.

Yes, your bias can produce, your bias can compose, your bias can sing and dance, and play instruments. But how many people can do all of those as good as Woozi does?! True genius.

Watching videos of him in the studio, especially when working with the rest of the Seventeen members, will leave you in awe. He is so wise and handles recordings well.

And you know what’s crazy? With his skill level, it looks like he formally studied all this in a focused school before becoming an idol, but no! Woozi learned it after joining the company, about a year before debut, he learned from Bumzu. Considering how hard being a trainee already is and considering how he was still finishing high school back then, he still managed to learn songwriting and music production and actually be excellent at it. My dear. Bumzu himself said Woozi picked things up easily and he really thinks Woozi is a genius. (I actually don’t know if he actually developed his music production skill more in university or not. If he did, that would be even more impressive because Seventeen was already pretty popular after debut, and going to college/finishing the requirements would be extremely hard on top of all his Seventeen work.)

His brain is already too amazing, but his passion is even crazier. He works so hard on music because he really loves it. He still does so much work for Seventeen at the back end despite the whole group already being so busy!

I am fully convinced Woozi was made for the music industry. The amount of talent contained in this one person is too much! I can’t take it anymore!

At this point, I think I’m just gonna seal it in that Woozi is my ult.

Probably except for Hui (Pentagon), I’m not as impressed by any other kpop idol as I am with Woozi. (I’d gladly accept more suggestions of super-talented idols like Woozi if more people like him exists.)

*Technically, Woozi isn’t underrated because Seventeen is popular and isn’t underrated. But for the amount of talent this sole person has, gee, he really has to be recognized by the whole kpop world, even the whole world.

You might not stan Woozi, you might not even stan Seventeen, but you gotta admit, he is one of the most talented people out there!

//update: May 2021. I first wrote this when I didn’t really know much about Woozi’s character apart from his hard work and passion for music. I’ve stanned them longer now, and I’ve definitely learned more about him. And I now I’m head over heels for his generosity, kindness (despite showing a “cold” side sometimes, like a true tsundere), his honesty (in writing, too) and most especially his humility. He’s also so witty, honestly! And I love how he laughs at everything the members do. Overall, he’s just a truly amazing person. 🥲 I wish there were more of him in this world, but no, there is only one Lee Jihoon of Seventeen. //end of update

Anyway, I originally planned for this to be a short appreciation post on Woozi + Hoshi as my two favorites, but Woozi is too much! He needs a lot of space because he’s too amazing! (So Hoshi will probably be in the next post.)

What’s your favorite Kpop MV?

Omg there are so many that are so amazing...I love all the svt mvs (bc im trash), but I think the one that stood out the most to me recently is Hyuna’s ‘Lip & Hip’ mv bc I loved the overlying theme and also bc its Hyuna and she’s a boss.

What do you usually do when you feel down?

It really depends on my level of “down” that i’m at. If its just like a small amount, i’ll go get food, talk to a friend, or watch something funny on youtube. If its something much deeper, and I can feel that i’m really off, I’ll talk to my mom about it, I’ll write about it in my journal, and if its really bad i’ll talk to my therapist about it. It really depends but whatever works. Everyone copes differently.

Oh no, 4 members of your favorite group fell into the river! Which member do you decide to save?

Lbr, it would most likely be Mingyu and booseoksoon that fall in, and I want to save them all so I would get a boat, a net, and I would scoop them all up and give them warm drinks and blankets and protect them i cant answer this question my heart is too fragile

What’s your all-time favorite movie?

I have A LOT of movies that I love, but if I had to pick one that wasn’t star wars bc im a nerd, my favorite movie is called “This Is Where I Leave You”. Its about a dysfunctional family that has to come back together after the passing of their father and how they come to understand each other through loss. It is really a very beautiful movie (with Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, and a lot of other big names). Its also one of my favorite books as well. I could talk about how amazing it is for hours.

Can you handle spice?

Depends on the spice. If we’re talking like cinnamon and stuff then im good. But anything hotter than a jalapeno and i would literally die bc im a wimp

Is there a specific place in the world you’d like to go? Why?

Is everywhere an answer? I desperately want to travel anywhere I can. I love learning about other cultures and lifestyles and i want to be able to experience as much as I can.

OOOH I have a good one that i’ve actually thought about: Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. It actually has a story within the song itself and OH MY GOSH it would make such a good movie about finding hope and staying strong through hardships throughout your life excuse me as i fangirl over 80s music

How do you feel about girl groups?

GIRL GROUPS ARE SO UNDERRATED AND THEY DESERVE ALL THE LOVE AND RESPECT IN THE WORLD RESPECT GIRL GROUPS

I actually joined a few years ago...it was at least like 3 years ago I think. But I accidentally deleted my original blog bc i goofed and then I made a new account and now i’m here. I’ve had this blog for almost a year now, coming up in February I believe.

Beginners Guide to Memeteen

No one asked for this, but i made it anyways

General Info:

So the memeteen group signed under Pledis which also has Pristin, Nu’est, Orange Caramel and After School (Everyone has issues with Pledis don’t even get us started about them).

Group name Seventeen with 13 members because 13 members, 3 units and 1 team equals 13 (also originally they had 17 members but this works too).

They finally debuted on May 26, 2015 after being pushed back for far to long

debuted with the amazing song Adore U, and so far have had 8 comebacks: Mansae, Pretty U, Very Nice, Boom Boom, Don’t Want to Cry, Clap, Thanks, Oh My!

They also have an mv for their song Healing, Love Letter, Shining Diamond, Smile Flower, and Q&A (just scoups, woozi and vernon), Change Up (scoups, woozi, and hoshi)

Have 9 amazing albums: 17 Carat, Boys Be, Love & Letter (Repackaged), Going Seventeen, A|1, Teen,Age, Director’s Cut , and You Make My Day (buy the albums tho)

Nicole ~ Leader

안녕하세요 everyone! I'm Nicole, the leader of the BTSPS. I'm fourteen and I currently live in America. My amino profile name is “니콜 (TaeIsBby)”. As you know, I'm the leader but I also run the twitter account (and monitor the other social media accounts) . My bias in BTS is Taehyung but they all have a special place in my heart! Even though Taehyung is my bias, I can relate to either Yoongi or Jin most of the time.

In October of 2016, I found out about BTS because of a friend. She showed me Blood Sweat & Tears and I instantly fell in love with them. Ever since then I've been obsessed. I also love kdramas even though I don't have much time to watch them due to school.

I'm learning how to speak Spanish and Korean. I would much rather just learn one language but since a foreign language is required at my school and they don't offer Korean, I chose Spanish. I'm in love with Korean culture. I think Korea is a beautiful place and I even plan to travel there one day. When I'm in college, hopefully I'll get the opportunity to study abroad.

In my free time I like to sing and dance. I believe that I'm alright at singing but I do dancing just for fun. I cannot dance good at all. I took dance lessons for 4 years, it's sad that I still can't dance. But I enjoy it! Singing on the other hand is something I'm considered ”good” at. I need practice and to take lessons. In the future once I am better, I want to audition somewhere. Preferably in Korea? But anywhere is fine for me. As long as I live my dreams that I've had since I was young, right?

I like to listen to many other groups and celebrities. For example: GOT7, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, BLACKPINK, Shinee, Jay Park, Mino, and so many more! The two main groups I like, other than BTS, are GOT7 and BLACKPINK. Jackson is my bias in GOT7 and Lisa is my bias in BLACKPINK. I actually love those two groups. They are my lifeu. But BTS will always have my hearteu!

In our team I’m in charge of being wild & sexy (who gets the quote will receive a cookie), translating to Italian and Polish, taking care of the Tumblr page and trying to find a way to make our posts look more clearly.

I am an artist, sort of, I love foreign languages and cultures. I've quite a knowledge about geeky stuff and I love to talk about it. My ultimate bias and role model is Suga. I really like his mentality, the way he speaks out his mind and I respect him for his work and the passion he puts in doing it.

My Amino profile name in Flor (I know, so original), I live in Argentina and my Bias in BTS is Min Yoongi but I love all of them.

I’m in love with Asian culture in general, I want to learn more about it and be able to visit some of its countries one day (but Korea is my main goal). I also love languages, I’m currently studying to be an English Translator in college and I’m learning Korean and Portuguese by my own.

In my free time I like reading, watching Kdramas and singing.

I was “born” in the A.R.M.Y World during Fire Era. If you ask me who is my bias in BTS, I wouldn’t be able to answer you the question, since I love them all equally. Ladies’ Code is my bias girl group and they deserve so much more.

Hi my name is Lina and I live in the US but I am Korean. I am fluent in Korean and English so I will be the Korean translator.

I am a k-drama addict like there is no k-drama I haven’t watched(it’s seriously a problem).

I do taekwondo and am a 4th degree black belt. I also like to play other sports as well (tennis,yoga,gravity yoga,pilates...etc.) and I love to play video games. I also at a young age learned various musical instruments (violin,piano,flute,and a traditional korean instrument). I also like to cook and bake whenever I have time.

I've been an Army since their debut but really started to hardcore stan BTS during their “Most Beautiful Moment” album era. BTS is the only male group I stan but I like to listen to other K-pop groups/singers/rappers as well like Big Bang, Mamamoo, Blackpink, Dean, BewhY and so many more. Hi everyone!

My name is Nisrin and I’m a translator, and my Amino name is “ChimChimGirl”. I’ve been a translator before in my other fandom (for the American band called Linkin Park, which is my other favorite band, and if you like their music let’s be friends), and I loved working with other people who are as passionate as I am about the group.

I speak 6 languages fluently; arabic, amazigh (for those who don’t know, it’s an official north African language), English, Spanish, Catalan, and French. I’m originally from Morocco but I’ve grown up in Catalonia (Spain), and now I’m living in France, where I study International Business in college and work as a Catalan teacher at elementary schools.

My bias is Jimin but I relate to Suga on a deeper level, even though at the end of the day I end up praising and loving all of them equally, because their story, their hard work, their passion and their talent is amazing, and that’s why I fell in love with them.

I’ve been into Kpop since October 2016 with the release of Blood, Sweat and Tears, and an ARMY since then as well. I occasionally listen to Big Bang, Blackpink and Got7 (and I love Jackson!).

I love languages and even with lack of time, I recently started learning Korean because I find it really interesting. I’m a TV shows addict, I mainly watch American shows but I started watching Hwarang and I’m in love with it. I might give other Kshows a try during summer break!

Erika ~ Swedish translator

Hello everyone!

I’m Erika and I am 18 years old, (soon to be 19 on the 18th of February! *feeling blessed*) from Sweden, so I will be the Swedish translator lol.

My amino is Erika K and I found out about BTS last year in April when my friend from Canada was shook and sent me the music video for “DOPE” and just said: “Choreo. THE CHOREO DAMN.” At that point I had to check it out and boy, I was impressed by them. After that I stumbled across “Young Forever” and I just started crying while I read the lyrics, they were so good! And it became even more special when I found out the members themselves had written the lyrics and Rap Monster producing it. (Still is my favorite song today). And I just knew, from that day forward, there was no return lol.

My bias is Namjoon, simply because he’s just the most wonderful human I have ever gotten the chance to know. He’s everything from intelligent, to sweet, humble, to savage, to clumsy (can 100% relate lol). He’s everything. Although I must say I love all of them and I would probably sob like a 4-yearold if I ever got the chance to see any of them in real life.

Despite for my love of BTS, I am also a huge language loving nerd. I study at the moment Swedish, English, Italian, Chinese and Latin. My goal in life is to be near the level of fluency in at least 3 or 4 languages.

Aside from that I adore K-dramas even though I’m a newbie, there is just something so magical about them. I have to restrain myself to focus on my school work sometimes, the life of a fangirl *sigh.* But I absolutely adore Lee Jong Suk, Ji Sung and Seo In Guk. Apart from BTS I’m also a huge multifandom, and my top 5 faves (except BTS), GOT7, Monsta X, KNK, SHINee & Pentagon. But BTS will forever be my ultimate bias group. <3
