Max got a prize for a book she wrote! That’s awesome!
But back to the usual baby challenge stuff. Such as...birthdays! Homework! Angry ghost grandma! Our garden is dying even though we hired a professional smh! More babies! These are #75 and #76, Wren and Xenia Romeo.
Prepare for another birthday spam lol.

Anon Request #2: “I hope it didnt crash this time... i got an angsty prompt: yvette/ranza are fighting and mc gets in the way trying to stop them and gets her hand burned... how would yvette feel sbout hurting her girlfriend... what would ranza feel if mc got hurt on her watch? Assuming they both are her gf (maybe not at the same time... but what would their reaction be?)”

Anon Request #1: Hey! I honestly cry in the fic you made recently but i love it. Can i request MC secretly make herself a crew after she left the Poppy?
Anon Request #2:  An-awkward-ghost, continuation fic of QoT MC and her new crew? I would like to see MC besting the Poppy. Also, she runs into them after the heist.
Anon Request #3: “Prompt: an-awkward-ghost you’re getting real popular! I read the MC makes her own crew fic, if I can maybe request another short sequel? MC chooses to steal something from the Poppy as her to quench her grudge?
Anon Request #4: I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs to know more about an awkward ghost’s series about MC w her own crew!!! Perhaps for an eventual finale - MC finally gets cornered and isn’t able to run.
Anon Request #5:  May i request vivienne x mc where mc leaves vivienne after a huge fight and doesn’t come back, only to have her find mc not only living in Japan but also finds her figure skating her heart out during after hours because mc’s best friend owns the skating rink facility. Vivienne stays and watches mc skate but when mc sees her, she ignores her because mc is tired of empty promises and dancing around everything that goes on between them. Especially their feelings. Little bit angst but fluffy ending
Anon Request #6: “MC is a artist that have connections with the Poppy and she is famous in the underworld, Nadia contracted her for a job and she is *annoying* about it”

Watched over by Selene, the nymph Chloris, the new bride of Zephyrus, is sleeping with her fellow nymphs. At the approach of Boreas, however, she awakens from the cold. Chloris begs Eos for help. Eos comforts Chloris and announces that Helios will appear and put an end to her sufferings. With the appearance of the sun god, everything comes alive. Enchanted by the beauty of the nymph, Helios kisses Chloris. At the summons of the sun god, Zephyrus, Chloris’s new husband, flies into the arms of his beloved. Hermes announces the arrival of Ganymede and Hebe, who bring Chloris and Zephyrus a cup of nectar and declare that Zeus is granting them eternal youth and Chloris immortality. The wife of Zephyrus is no longer the nymph Chloris – she is now Flora, the Goddess of the Flowers. Olympus is revealed and the gods appear – Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hephaestus, Athena, Demeter, Ares, Hades, Persephone and Aphrodite.
History The Awakening of Flora is a one-act ballet anacréontique that is based on the Ancient Greco-Roman myth of Flora, the Goddess of the Flowers. The ballet is an Anacreontic, which means it is meant to have a Greek subject, but Petipa inaccurately used the Roman gods instead of the Greek gods, the same inaccuracy that is to be found in Le Roi Candaule. The reason for Petipa’s inaccuracies in Greco-Roman mythology is unclear, but the Petipa Society has corrected this error, so the ballet remains somewhat faithful to the famous myth on which it is based as told by the Roman poet Ovid.
According to the myth, Flora was originally a Greek nymph called Chloris. One day, Chloris was wandering in a field when Zephyrus, the God of the West Wind saw her and fell in love with her. He then abducted the nymph and married her. As proof of his love, Zephyrus granted his new bride with the power to rule the flowers, plants, trees and orchards, thus Chloris became Flora, the Goddess of the Flowers.
The Awakening of Flora was created and staged as part of the celebrations at Peterhof Palace for the wedding of the Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, daughter of Tsar Alexander III, and the Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich on the 6th August [O.S. 25th July] 1894. Originally, Petipa and Drigo were creating a new ballet entitled Le Bal champêtre for the summer season of that year, the producing of which was announced on the 28th April [O.S. 6th April] 1894 in the newspaper The New Time. On the 8th May [O.S. 26th April], however, the newspaper announced that the new ballet for the Peterhof summer season was now called The Awakening of Flora. It seems that The Awakening of Flora was reformulated from Le Bal champêtre, perhaps when it was announced that it would be performed as a ballet for an Imperial wedding. The gala for the Imperial Wedding included The Awakening of Flora and the second act of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet. The ballet was later transferred to the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre, where it had its Imperial Theatre première on the 14th January [O.S. 2nd January] 1895 with the original cast members from the Peterhof première. The Imperial Theatre première of The Awakening of Flora was part of a farewell benefit performance for the ballerina Maria Anderson, who had sadly been forced into early retirement after sustaining burn injuries in a horrific accident that occurred during a rehearsal for Cinderella, in which her costume caught alight on an ironing device. In the original theatre programme, the choreography for The Awakening of Flora was erroneously credited as having been a joint effort between Petipa and Lev Ivanov. When a review in the Saint Petersburg Gazette also credited the choreography to both Petipa and Ivanov, Petipa responded to this matter with the following letter to correct the newspaper:
After the outbreak of the Russian Revolution, The Awakening of Flora was performed for the final time by the Imperial Ballet in 1919. The ballet was introduced to the west by Anna Pavlova when, in 1914, she utilised Drigo’s score to create a 30-minute abridgement of the full-length ballet for her company that was choreographed by Ivan Clustine. Pavlova’s staging of The Awakening of Flora enjoyed a very successful première in London on the 12th October 1914 and among those who attended the première was Queen Alexandra of Denmark, Queen consort of the United Kingdom and wife of Edward VII. In 1974, the Australian conductor, Richard Bonygne conducted the music for Pavlova’s abridged edition for his LP Homage to Pavlova, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. To date, this remains the only available recording of any of Drigo’s score for The Awakening of Flora.

Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018, also marked a milestone of another sort—namely the 50th time Bonhams has held an auction at the Festival and its companion Goodwood Revival event. Although the sell-through rate (the percentage of cars sold) was a disappointing 64 percent, of the cars that did sell, more than a third were above the high end of their presale estimates. That’s impressive and shows that despite the minor market pullback we’ve seen recently, buyers are still stepping up and spending big bucks for the best cars. And spend they did. At the end of the day, more than $42 million worth of automobilia and cars changed hands, setting two new records in the process.
1961 Aston Martin MP209 DB4GT Zagato Sold: £10,081,500 ($13,339,000*)
This Aston Martin MP209, chassis 0183/R, was the belle of the Bonhams ball. It is a one-of-three racing prototype based on the DB4GT Zagato, of which just 19 were made in all. The Aston’s hammer price of more than $13 million was a new record for a British car sold at auction and has set the bar for a similarly rare Aston Martin DB215 rival that RM Sotheby’s will be bringing to its upcoming 2018 Monterey sale.
In specification, the car is at least a match for one of its contemporaries, the Ferrari 250 GTO, which would arrive on the scene two years after the MP209’s conception. Its 3.8-liter DOHC straight-six produces 310 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque compared to the Ferrari’s 296 hp and 217 lb-ft, and it famously diced with said GTOs at tracks like the legendary Goodwood Circuit, a stone’s throw from where the auction was held. Lightweight aluminum bodywork and plenty of magnesium engine parts mean the MP209 weighs a huge 507 pounds less than a standard DB4GT and 300 pounds less than the lightweight Zagato version. Despite all that, and being driven by world-class drivers such as two-time Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark, it didn’t exactly have a successful career at the track. Reliability issues plagued the engine, and the car was involved in an accident with a Ferrari at Goodwood in 1962 with Clark at the wheel.
You might be thinking, “That’s all well and good, but why is this car worth $13 million?” As the cliché goes, “The rich are very different from you and me.” For the exceedingly well-heeled enthusiast, the 0183/R is more than just a car; it’s a golden ticket to the world’s top vintage car events. Its racing provenance would make it instantly eligible for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Goodwood Revival, and other prestigious races. The classic car calendar would suddenly be your oyster, too, with Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, and even Villa d’Este all possible show venues. These events are choosy about what cars they invite, but they’d all be delighted to have the MP209 attend. Buying a vehicle of this stature is essentially like marrying into classic car royalty, with all the fame, perks, and status that come with it.
Will the Aston Martin DB215—considered the ultimate evolution of Aston’s “special projects” program—fetch an even higher amount in Monterey this August? Given what went down at Goodwood, we wouldn’t rule it out.
1965 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1 Competition Saloon Sold: £191,900 ($254,000*)
The Lotus Cortina was a modified version of the standard Ford Cortina, engineered and built by Lotus and its chief, Colin Chapman. Modifications from standard included a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine plucked from the Lotus Elan, coil springs in the rear instead of leaf springs, and an alloy differential housing, among other features. This car was an ex-works racer driven by Jim Clark, along with Jack Sears and John Whitmore. This is the car all Cortina owners wish they owned, and the price—about five times that of a road-going Lotus Cortina—reflects that.
1931 Bentley 4½-Liter Supercharged Tourer Sold: £2,017,500 ($2,669,500*)
Bentley’s 4½-Liter is one of the brand’s most celebrated models, but by 1929, it was in danger of being outclassed by Alfa Romeo and others. Bentley Boy Sir Henry Birkin decided a little forced induction would help the car’s chances and commissioned a run of 50 “Blower Bentleys,” 4½-Liter cars with a supercharger added. These were built to homologate five race cars that Birkin campaigned across Europe and were capable of more than 100 mph—serious performance for the time. With just 50 built, they don’t surface often. We’ll call its price market correct.
1957 BMW 507 Roadster Sold: £3,809,500 ($5,040,500*)
It’s rare enough to find a BMW 507 that’s had just one owner from new. When that owner is world-champion motorcycle, Formula 1, and Can-Am driver John Surtees, you’re into unicorn territory. Beyond that, this vehicle has been treated to a host of special factory upgrades, including Dunlop disc brakes, high-compression pistons, larger valves and carburetors, a high-lift camshaft, and underbody faring that smoothed airflow and raised top speed. At slightly more than $5 million, this car set the world record price for a BMW at auction, and rightfully so. It is perhaps the ultimate example of a 507, and as such, the car fetched nearly double the presale estimate and more than twice the value of a less pedigreed car.
1972 Land Rover Range Rover 4X4 Estate Sold: £36,255 ($48,000*)
The first true SUVs to roam the earth are the latest usable classics to heat up the marketplace. As vintage Toyota FJs, Ford Broncos, and International Scouts have risen in popularity, so has interest in Range Rovers from the early ’70s. This two-door, five-seat 4×4 Estate was presented in a great shade of blue on its aluminum body panels and has a 3.5-liter all-alloy V-8 underhood. This model carried on with only minor changes into the mid-’90s, showing how right the Range Rover was from the beginning. The price is spot-on, but values might have a little further to rise.
2012 Bugatti VeyronSuper Sport Sold: £2,045,500 ($2,706,500*)
This year’s Festival of Speed sale was not kind to most of the contemporary supercars that ran across the block. Registered “not sold” were an Aston Martin One-77, McLaren P1, Pagani Huayra, and Lamborghini Murciélago SuperVeloce. Either bidders weren’t interested in the latest and greatest, or the sellers simply wanted too much money. That said, this 1,200-hp, 258-mph Veyron Super Sport with just 340 miles from new sold for about 10 percent more than its top presale estimate.
1965 Aston Martin DB5 from “GoldenEye” Sold: £1,961,500 ($2,595,500*)
A certain generation recalls this car fondly as it tangled with Xenia Onatopp’s Ferrari F355 in the opening scene of the 1995 James Bond film, “GoldenEye.” The chase was one for the ages, and this car was one of two DB5s used in the driving sequence. This particular car, chassis 1885/R, was also used by Aston Martin for promotional purposes during the launch of the DB7, occasionally being driven by the legendary Sir Stirling Moss. Any 007-used DB5 is bound to command a hefty premium, as this one received. Elsewhere in the auction, a “standard” DB5 sold for slightly more than $594,500.

1961 Aston Martin MP209 DB4GT Zagato Brings $13,302,239 in Record-Breaking Bonhams Auction
While 2018 rung in the 25th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bonhams also celebrated its 50th Goodwood on the weekend with strong results. Though Bonhams’ sell-through rate, the percentage of cars (excluding memorabilia) that sold, was a lack-luster 64 percent, of those that did sell, more than a third did so at above the high end of pre-sale estimates. That’s a fairly remarkable feat and indicates that despite a small overall market pullback and worries about international trade wars, buyers still felt confident enough to spend big for strong examples of desirable classics. And spend they did. At the end of the day, over $42 million dollars worth of automobilia and cars changed hands, setting two new sales records in the process.
1961 Aston Martin MP209 DB4 GT Zagato
Sold: $13,302,239
The star of the sale was this Aston Martin MP209, a true one-of-three racing prototype that was based on the DB4 GT Zagato, of which 19 were made in total. The hammer price of over $13 million set a new record sale for a British car at auction and sets the stage for the later Aston Martin DB215 that will be brought to Monterey by rival auction company RM Sotheby’s. Why is this car worth $13 million? It is the rarest and most desirable specification of DB4 GT Zagato available, was driven by some of the most notable drivers of the era, Jim Clark and Innes Ireland included, and was simply one of the most sensational and best-known racing Aston Martins from a period where the works team was very small and somewhat covert. In specification, the car is at least a match for Ferrari’s 250 GTO and would be competitive and welcome at the world’s best vintage racing and touring events, not to mention concours and other shows. Will the Aston Martin DB215—the ultimate evolution of this program—fetch an even higher amount in Monterey this August? We wait patiently to find out.
1957 BMW 507 Roadster
Sold: $5,026,522
It’s rare enough to find a BMW 507 that’s had just one owner from new. That this car’s singular owner was world-champion motorcycle, Formula 1, and Can-Am driver John Surtees, makes it even more special. Beyond that, this 507 was treated to a host of special factory upgrades, including Dunlop disc brakes, high-compression pistons, larger valves and carburetors, a high-lift camshaft, and underbody faring that smoothed airflow and raised top speed. At just over $5 million, this car set the world record price for a BMW at auction, and rightfully so. It is perhaps the ultimate example of a 507 and as such, the car fetched nearly double the pre-sale estimate and more than twice the value of a less-pedigreed car.
1931 Bentley 4 ½-liter Supercharged Tourer
Sold: $2,662,031
Bentley’s 4 ½-liter is one of the brand’s most celebrated models, but by 1929, it was in danger of being outclassed by competition from Alfa Romeo and others. Bentley Boy Sir Henry Birkin decided a little forced induction would help the car’s chances and commissioned a run of 50 “Blower Bentleys,” that is 4 ½-liter cars with an added supercharger to give the cars some extra grunt on the track. These were built to homologate five race cars that Birkin campaigned across Europe and were capable of over 100 mph—serious performance for the time. This car suffered significant accident damage in-period, but was later given a multi-year restoration to bring the car to as close to original specification as possible. With just 50 ever built, if you wanted one, here it was. We’ll call the price paid market correct.
1965 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1 Competition Saloon
Sold: $253,206
The Lotus Cortina was a modified version of the standard Ford Cortina, engineered and built by Lotus and its chief, Colin Chapman. Modifications from standard included a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine plucked from the Lotus Elan, coil-springs in the rear instead of leaf springs, and an alloy differential housing, among other features. This car was an ex-works racer, driven by Scottish Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark, along with Jack Sears and John Whitmore. This is the car every Cortina owner wishes he owned and the price—about five times that of a road-going Lotus Cortina—reflects that.
2012 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
Sold: $2,698,976
This year’s Bonhams Festival of Speed sale was not kind to most of the contemporary supercars that ran across the block. Registered “not sold” are an Aston Martin One-77, McLaren P1, Pagani Huayra, and Lamborghini Murcielago Super Veloce. Either bidders in the room weren’t interested in the latest and greatest, or the sellers simply wanted too much money. That said, this 1,200-hp, 258-mph Veyron Super Sport with just 340 miles from new, sold for nearly $2.7 million—about 10 percent more than the top pre-sale estimate.
1965 Aston Martin DB5 “Goldeneye”
Sold: $2,588,140
A certain generation recalls this car fondly as it diced with Xenia Onatopp’s Ferrari F355 in the opening  scene of the 1995 007 film “Goldeneye.” The chase was one for the ages and this car was one of two used in the actual driving sequence. The car was said to have been restored both before filming and then again after, presumably to repair damages incurred while filming the driving scenes. This car, chassis 1885/R was also used by Aston Martin for promotional purposes during the launch of the DB7, occasionally being driven by retired racing driver Stirling Moss. Any 007-used DB5 is worth a heady premium, as this one received. Elsewhere in the auction, a “standard” DB5 sold for just over $585,000.
1972 Range Rover 4X4 Estate
Sold: $47,797
Early SUVs are the newest usable classics to heat up the marketplace and the rising tide of vintage Toyota FJs, Ford Broncos and International Scouts is also bringing popularity to the earliest Range Rover models from the early 1970s. This two-door, five-seat 4×4 Estate features was presented in a great shade of blue on its aluminum body panels and has a 3.5-liter all-alloy V-8 underhood. This model carried on with only minor changes into the mid-‘90s, showing how right the Range Rover was from the beginning. This is what you should expect to pay for a similar example currently, but values may have a little further to rise.

1954 Maserati A6GCS/53 Wins Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award for 2016 Season
One of just four berlinetta-bodied sports cars produced by Pininfarina, this 1954 Maserati A6GCS/53 Berlinetta is not only the best preserved, it’s the only one to retain its original chassis and body. This elegant survivor of a Maserati beat a strong field of competition for this year’s Peninsula Classics Best of the Best award, just as the race car it’s based on once beat the competition on track.
Chosen for its sensual design, clever construction, and stunning originality, the A6GCS/53 Berlinetta by Pininfarina is based on the Maserati brothers’ successful 2.0-liter A6GCS/53 race car. This example, like the other three A6GCS/53 Berlinettas, were commissioned by Guglielmo Dei, a Maserati dealer in Rome at the time, who had acquired a handful of chassis. This A6GCS/53 was shown at the 1954 Paris Motor Show, and was bought by an Italian count who raced it in the 1955 Mille Miglia.
The other seven finalists included some true powerhouses of classic automobilia: the 1952 Pegaso Z-102 Berlineta Cúpula, 1960 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Coupé Superfast II by Pininfarina, 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Berlinetta by Touring, 1938 Dubonnet Xenia Coupé by Saoutchik, 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV Coupé by Bertone, and yet another Pininfarina creation, the 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider by Pininfarina.
“We were all in agreement that the Maserati deserved the award not only for its astounding display of modern innovation, but also because it has been restored in a way that preserves the design as it was intended to be appreciated, with a precise level of care for its historic and timeless automotive implications,” said judging panel member and renowned auto enthusiast Jay Leno.
“The 1954 Maserati A6GCS/53 Berlinetta is a superb example of the beauty of Pininfarina’s designs, which are synonymous with the coachwork that epitomizes classic Italian sports cars,” said Sir Michael Kadoorie, one of the founders of the event. “The sensitive retention of its originality allows this stunning motorcar to emerge as the most elegant preservation among its 1954 counterparts.”
The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award enlists the talents of experts, celebrities, and design luminaries of the automotive world to choose the “world’s most exceptional classic car.” If that sounds an awful lot like the goal of Monterey Car Week’s crown jewel, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, well, it is. But at the same time, it’s not.
The list of big names on the 24-member panel includes Chris Bangle, Peter Brock, Ian Callum, Luc Donckerwolke, Henry Ford III, Ralph Lauren, Jay Leno, The Earl of March, Nick Mason, Gordon Murray, Shiro Nakamura, Ratan Tata, Gordon Wagener, and Ed Welburn—among others. It’s a shock-and-awe fusillade of automotive celebrity superpower.
With that kind of weight behind the pronouncement, the Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award is aiming to become one of Monterey Car Week’s hottest new events.
Founded in 2015 by famed collector Bruce Meyer, Chip Connor, Christian Philippsen, and Kadoorie, the Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award is sponsored by The Peninsula Hotels, Graff Diamonds, and Rolex.
As for the 2017 award winner, we’ll have to wait until next year, after this concours season has concluded.
