#56 - kyoto phoebe bridgers + yamo
the story of how this song ended up on my wrapped is too long so it’s going in the tags but. let me set the scene for you.
2026 NHL GLOBAL SERIES™️ JAPAN - Presented by YPPI
November 13 & 14, 2026: Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Seattle Kraken, Vancouver Canucks
Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan
It’s a pitiful excuse of a consolation prize for not being able to go to the Olympics, but Kailer’s not going to look a vacation horse in the mouth. The arena’s cool. It’s huge. The people are cool. There’s so many more of them than he thought there’d be with jerseys that have his name on the back, and a lot more that have the familiar orange and blue. He takes a picture of the fifth Oilers Yamamoto jersey he signs—this one’s the good Reverse Retro—and texts it to Connor, says,
no one here has even heard of mcjesus
and gets a moon face emoji in response. Leon’s influence. Kailer’s still never really deciphered what that one means, and he doesn’t think Connor knows either.
They don’t have a lot of time off between games, but Kailer’s trying to be a good tourist. His dad had been so happy when Kailer had told him about the series that Kailer’d had to stop him from trying to book a flight a year in advance, and his mom’s been just as bad, sending him every article she sees about Best New Spot in Tokyo! Cool Restaurant! Have You Seen This Japanese Cat Café? that she scrolls across on Facebook since June. Suzy’s in the same boat, so they’ve been crossing off their compiled travel-guide list together, looping in as many guys as they can. Everyone’s been pretty game. All the teams are crammed into close quarters at the same hotel, which means everyone wants to spend as much time as possible outside of it, and it helps that Kailer’s gotten pretty close with all the other guys that the NHL picked up as Global Series figureheads. Robo’s memes? Absolutely fire. The groupchat loves them.
For every item he crosses off the list, Kailer takes a picture and keeps it tucked in his phone notes. It’s like speed-running a scavenger hunt—they’re only here for four days—but he’s doing a pretty good job. His favorite so far has been all the gardens. They’re stunning, trees shining bright red and yellow, and every vendor has been selling maple candies, maple cakes, and even fried maple, though the official maple festival doesn’t start until next week. The second garden he visits, he does it on his own after practice, buying two cakes from a cart near the gate and walking until he loses the bustle outside. It’s easy to get lost in the winding pathways, heading deeper into the quiet, and there’s dozens of benches underneath the burnished leaves where young couples are tucked away on dates, or old friends are laughing and catching up. In some of the little clearings, there’s small shrines where people leave offerings, a prayer for good luck or good fortune.
Kailer stops at one without any people and sets the second maple cake on top of it, then sits and scrolls through all the texts that he’s missed. His mom gets replied to with a picture of him outside the garden gate, grinning and surrounded by other travelers. He sends his brother a picture of a trashy graphic I Love Japan t-shirt with the threat that he’ll buy one for him, and Kailer’s dad gets a picture of the meticulously arranged and cut bonsai that are across from the bench where he’s sitting. The Seattle groupchat gets a recycled meme from Robo, and he gets two thumbs up and an “LMAO” before he can even exit the thread. Finally, Kailer takes a picture of the half-eaten maple cake in his hand, holding it next to a fallen maple leaf on the bench, and gets halfway through typing another message before he thinks better of it.
(On the plane over, Drieds was reading them a story about how when they first introduced the high-speed railway, people were afraid to use it because they thought it would be too fast for their souls to keep up.
“Bro, if that were true, you just left your soul in the middle of the Pacific,” Ebs had laughed. “Planes are faster than trains.”
“Are they?” Matty asked. “Isn’t the train in Japan the fastest in the world?”
Drieds couldn’t make it through the rest of the story over the sound of everyone ripping Matty to shreds, so Kailer didn’t get to ask whether or not they found out anything about planes. Kailer’s not worried about his soul, but the logic makes a strange kind of sense; after all, he traveled 429 miles in five and a half hours once, and that was a little too fast for his heart to keep up.)
Fuck it. Kailer’s been trying to write a response for the past ten days, and he’s sick of swiping in and out of the message, staring at the keyboard so long he starts to see swirls in his vision.
Kailer drafts the text again and sends it, no context, no caption. A text travels faster than a high-speed train or a jet. Maybe it’ll pick his heart back up on the way.
#I don’t know how this song ended up on my Spotify wrapped because phoebe bridgers is too emotionally damaging for me to listen to like.#at all unless i am In It HOWEVER. there is this one silly video that brings me so much joy and made me feel semi-reasonable about listening#to kyoto & it’s the one video of the two painter guys painting the room & the lil guy is being a menace & the other guy just looks at him s#fondly & so lovingly & is that not the thesis of kailer yamamoto. be small be a menace be beloved by everyone. ANYWAY#liv in the replies#look this was going to be such a different thing and then. my brain went HEY BUDDY GUESS THE FUCK WHAT kyoto is a city in Japan.#day off in kyoto. guess who’s Japanese. guess what the nhl loves to do as HIFE publicity. also growing the AAPI audience is HUGE and i thin#they should. like originally i had NO idea what this was going to be (i’m so lying. the line ‘i’m gonna kill you’ but incredibly fond a la#the two painters video kept replaying in my head and i was like l m a o. klimmer & kailer. no plot all vibes it’s klimmer & Kailer that’s i#there is no real plot there is no actual idea the amount of googling that i did to write just this is UNREASONABLE i would love to be norma#about anything ever but i ALSO invented so much backstory to this that has no way of appearing in the actual fic and also jokes for ME#for instance. YPPI is the american manufacturer for yamaha motorcycles and. suzuki. yamamoto. (it’s not my brainworms it’s due to a fancam)#respectfully also i cannot write this fic. i have never been to japan and i think it would take me eight years to google enough#to be relatively comfortable like y’all have never seen the extensive research i put in to fucking phiLLY and a whole other COUNTRY???#where the premise of the fic is learning how to be a tourist in your life and sometimes you have to grow out of things?#yeah i AM going to make something with the idea of Momijigari and life is ephemeral. is that a plot? no it’s vibes.#kailer goes to japan in the fall and realizes he’s a liar. who lies. (he misses [redacted]) (the redacted is because i haven’t decided)#also also. the garden reference is because a) i spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON GOOGLE and found out things to do in saitama and also that#kailer’s grandpa had a meticulous garden and i just think that’s neat#hiding-from-reality-56#random ficlet is unbeta’d un-anything’d i don’t know WHERE this came from or the real plot of it at all. ok thanks byeeeee

Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay i lied, i sketched him up anyway.
The Scorpion/Carnorpion (lmao)
more info/closeups under the cut:
Tumblr media
tfw you get your dna spliced with a scorpion and all it does is turn you into vin diesel make you beefy and bald
Tumblr media
the stuff for this isn't fully written yet (so, not posted on ao3 yet either lol) but if I can get some of the kinks (not that kind of kink) (...maybe a little) hammered out on this wip he should show up... soonish...? i plan to include a flashback to him beating the tar out a teenaged peter with that sword whip too, but his main role will be to fistfight doc ock and get worms
also considering giving him a motorcycle just for funsies (not like Peter's little Yamaha though, something big and rumbly)
(ah... fuck i accidentally made him hot)
Tumblr media
Big inspiration for this armor design from Tradd Moore's take on the Scorpion in Venom #150 (highly recommended just for the art alone) but taking some other little cues from various sources + my own personal design sense and habits (i feel like it's pretty obvious how i tend to design armor, which is, like literal plate armor LOL) and trying to make sure the Carnage one doesn't look too much like Agent Venom lmao
Tumblr media
Metroid Halo lookin ass...
idk how clear it is in this rough sketch but the stripes next to the visor are lights lol
Tumblr media
tbh I'm not sold on the mechanical pincer design as it is but if i think of something i like better i can always just change it. or, you know, just not use it at all.. honestly with a few exceptions I just don't like the Scorpion's pincers in general XD so it's not surprising i'm not quite satisfied with them. They're technically auxiliary to the claws anyway. i like the claws better. really the tail is the most important part.
as far as carnorpion goes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also i just realized i drew the blade on his tail differently for carnorpion but you know what i can just say the curved blade is just the new version to go with the special symbiote-interface armor 🤷 that's honestly pretty likely lol it's already a new version of the armor anyway so... it works.
Tumblr media
i like these pincers. peak weirdo. better than the mech ones. maybe he only has pincers as carnorpion (or venorpion, like i said i still don't entirely know what i'm doing with this plot cause oscorp and symbiotes are giving me some ... problems)
Tumblr media
also the jaw scars
afaik that was a superior spider-man thing but i just like them?? i always liked them, so I decided that fisk could probably rip his jaw off and then have the carnage symbiote put it back on but, being a new slime, not quite all the way there in terms of healing yet. then again i could also have ock do it when they fight. we'll see.
Tumblr media
(he also fluoresces under a black light after being mutated)
-
drawing this like teehee beefy tall symbiote host—what? what was that? edward? no i don't know him,
(jk jk lol but amusingly despite prominently featuring in the very early concepts for this AU he uh. well. i kind of wrote eddie out completely. lol. sorry ed boy.)

Biker girl (requested) Markus x fem!reader
DBH Masterlist
Markus Masterlist
Request: Hello are you taking requests for DBH? If you are could I ask for something with Markus, post-Revolution him and the Jericrew ( North, Josh and Simon) are all hanging out walking around until Markus bumps into someone, he goes to apologize but gets tongue tie when he see this cool biker chick with an awesome motorcycle, maybe they exchange numbers to get coffee as an "apology" and as the group walk away they are just teasing the fuck out of Markus. Ty and I'm sorry if this is a big request, if you don't want to do it I understand! Have a great day/night
Summary: that same thing as the request. I add a little something but it doesn’t change the plot.
Pairing: Markus x fem!reader
Y/F/C: your favorite color
Tumblr media
Markus POV.
It’s been some months after the pacific manifestation on Detroit. Humans have accepted us, and now we have the respect that we deserve.
North, Simon and Josh have grown closer to me, we are a family.
Since then we have real jobs, getting paid, and living a life that any rational creature can live.
Today, we wanted to celebrate North’s birthday ( the day she was built). We went to a bar. Nowadays bars have also options for androids. Sometimes human drinks are not good for our components. We went on a bar, and later on, we went dancing. Well, at least, Josh and Simon. North and I are not into dancing around.
We celebrated all night. The neon lights of the place created an almost hypnotic ambience.
After paying, some drinks, I tried fining my friends, which was difficult. I suddenly bumped into someone, I didn’t spill my drinks, but she did loose hers.
I looked at her eyes to apologize, but I couldn’t say a word. She looked up at me and said a ´´sorry``. Before she walked away I said ´´Hey, I am sorry. Let me buy you a drink to compensate``.  She turned around. ´´Oh`` she smirked playfully ´´So you DO talk``. She laughed a little bit, I laughed too.
Simon got close and got the drinks from me. I told him what happened and walked away with the girl.
Once we were near the bar, I could see her better. Her outfit was breathtaking. I didn’t know what was happening to me. I had already unlocked the human feelings, what was this?
I asked for a drink, payed and started talking to the girl. She told me her name. Y/n, what a beautiful name, for such a stunning girl. She also told me that she was a biker.
I followed her to the door of the club, opening it for her. As we walked outside I was amazed with her motorcycle. It was a black Yamaha that had small sparkles of (Y/F/C). She looked really badass with that.
I felt like my circuits were exploding inside of me when she looked at me in the eyes again. I felt my blood go to my cheeks. Was this blush?
We talked a little bit until she had to leave. We exchanged numbers, I am sure I’ll call her right away. Wait, humans don’t do such things. Do they?
How can I resist the feeling of numbness when I don’t see her? Why do I feel like jumping and skipping in my walk every time I am with her?
Is this what humans call love sick?

“Haunted” Prompt, starring Minako
Minako opened her eyes slowly, seeing the barest hint of early morning light coming through the open window. It had been a late night and Minako hadn’t gotten much sleep, but it was important that she got up early today. She was about to start her usual stretching routine when she remembered that her bed was occupied by another. Minako glanced over at the woman with whom she had shared a pleasant night.
The woman, Sanae (or was it Kanae?), was splayed out on the bed with her long dark hair fanned out around her head. She was facing away from Minako, and the faint sound of rhythmic breathing that reached Minako’s ears confirmed that she was still asleep. Minako took a moment to appreciate the intricate dragon tattoo that covered the woman’s back (a rarity in Japan, and something that had caught Minako’s attention last night in the club) before she got up from the bed stealthily.
Unfortunately, they were in Minako’s apartment. Last night, she had been too intent on getting the distraction Sanae promised to provide for her to remember to insist on going to the other woman’s place. If Minako had remembered, then it would have been a simple matter to leave before the woman woke up. Minako was still planning to do just that, but now she was reliant on Sanae getting the hint and leaving before she returned.
Their discarded clothing was in a pile on the floor. Minako glanced at the dress she had worn the night before, knowing that it was totally unsuitable for a motorcycle ride. She then made her way to her dresser. Minako grabbed a pair of jeans and a dark halter top and dressed as quietly as she could. Not quietly enough for Minako’s taste, and unsurprisingly, it was enough to wake her temporary guest.
“…Going somewhere?” Sanae asked in a low voice from behind her.
Minako sighed inwardly before turning around. She hated this part. It was time for another reprise of this always-awkward conversation. The only thing to do was to act as casual as possible and hope the other party took her lead.
Sanae (she was almost certain it was Sanae, but Minako damn sure wasn’t going to risk saying that without confirmation) had sat up in bed. Minako just barely kept her eyes from drifting downward from Sanae’s face, knowing that she needed to look the other woman in the eyes for this, at least.
“Yeah. I’ve got things to do, I’m afraid. But feel free to use the shower, and you can grab anything you want out of the fridge.” Minako offered airily, forcing a sunny smile to appear on her face.
“Oh. Alright.” Sanae replied a little frostily, declining to smile back.
Minako escaped the room as quickly as she could. The woman was a tad bit unpredictable, and the chances of Minako returning to find some of her things stolen or her apartment trashed was not zero, but what did she care? There was nothing of any real value to Minako here anyway.
“She seems nice. Nicer than you treated her, anyway.” A voice spoke up remonstratively behind her.
Minako gritted her teeth and ignored it. She knew it wasn’t good to encourage her own delusions. Rei was not behind her, no matter what a small part of her mind wanted her to think. No, her friend was gone and had been for the last three years. Three years to the day, to be precise.
The flashy, Solar-Yellow painted Yamaha that was Minako’s pride and joy rested pristinely in front of her. Minako took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the machine (as she always did before riding it), then put her helmet on. Much better. Minako couldn’t hear any unwanted voices with it on, achingly familiar though they may be.
Having revved the engine a few times to warm it up, Minako pulled out of the small parking garage swiftly, merging into traffic without giving the car behind her as much room as she should have. Perhaps in another country, the driver she cut off would have honked angrily at her. But this was Japan, and no sound came Minako’s way. The sun was just starting to rise, though it was still obscured behind the countless buildings that formed the skyline of the Greater Tokyo Area.
Minako had come to love motorcycles, but learning to ride one had been an act of necessity for her. She couldn’t drive cars anymore. Not that she was in any way incapable, but Minako hated being in them. If there was an empty seat behind her, then Minako’s mind was apt to fill it with Rei’s phantom presence. Even short drives were too painful to be worth it.
The Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway would have been Minako’s favorite place in the city to ride. She didn’t have to constantly dodge around slow-moving traffic here. Halfway down the highway, however, she had a clear view of the Yokohama Landmark Tower. Memories that Minako didn’t want to relive came upon whenever she saw it. Ordinarily, that would have been reason enough to avoid this road, but there was no point in doing that today.
As she passed by it Minako couldn’t help but gaze at the Tower. The high windows of the building had caught the rising sun, causing them to flash brilliantly in Minako’s eyes. Her grip on the throttle tightened for a moment before Minako forced her hand to relax. Of course they had repaired it. The Tower was a national landmark. They couldn’t let the destroyed 30th floor remain as a monument to her friend’s ultimate sacrifice.
But Minako couldn’t help but hate the owners of the building for erasing the evidence of what Rei had done for them, for the entire city. Her friend deserved such a monument, but all she had was a lonely grave at Aoyama Cemetery.
Minako rode on, memories of that night filling her mind. Unlike most every other time, Minako made no effort to shut them out.
Minako could still see the last smile that had appeared on Rei’s face as she turned to face the jeering, laughing monsters arrayed in front of them. She could remember fighting with Makoto as her friend carried her down the stairwell, ignoring the way her broken body wouldn’t cooperate. She could remember screaming to Makoto let her down, that she could still fight, but most of all, she could still feel the way the stairwell shuttered around them both, the colossal explosion that had marked Rei’s final sacrifice ripping through the floors above them.
Those memories were indelibly marked in Minako’s mind, even if the weeks and months after that had passed by in a foggy, uncertain blur. Minako couldn’t deny that a small part of her wished that Rei’s death was similarly unfocused in her memory. It wouldn’t be as painful that way. Just as she couldn’t deny wanting that, Minako couldn’t help but despise herself for it.
Minako pulled up and parked her motorcycle half a kilometer away from the cemetery. She could have parked closer, but she didn’t want the noise of the engine to disturb any early-morning visitors. A walk would do her good anyway. Minako wanted to clear her head a bit before she got to her friend’s grave. She took off her helmet and hung it from the handlebars of her motorcycle before making her way eastward.
Was it her imagination, or did Minako hear footsteps on the pavement behind her? The sound was keeping pace with her perfectly. Minako didn’t bother looking. She didn’t want the confirmation, either way, of who it might be. At least the presence behind her was keeping quiet.
Minako passed the gates of Aoyama Cemetery, pausing only to retrieve a single incense stick from the pile that was freely offered to visitors. Minako had remembered to bring her lighter (more of a reflexive action than a conscious one on her part) so she wouldn’t need any of the matches that were left out alongside the incense.
The Hino family had a large plot near the southeastern corner of the cemetery. Rei’s grandfather had taken care of all the details of her funeral, a task that had given Minako enormous respect for the man. She hadn’t been in any condition to help at the time. None of her friends had been.
The faint sound of footsteps had indeed kept pace with Minako, even over the well-maintained grass of the smaller side paths she had taken. Minako knew full well what the sound was by now, but that was even more reason not to look. If her mind was kind enough to keep Rei’s ghostly presence from speaking to her, then Minako wasn’t going to complain.
There it was. Minako’s breath caught as she saw the tall, distinctive headstone that marked her friend’s grave. Perhaps because there had been nothing left to cremate, and therefore nothing to inter, Rei’s headstone was visibly larger than the others of the Hino family. It was a small comfort to Minako, but a comfort nonetheless.
Minako stood silently in front of the grave for a few minutes. Ritual called for Minako to polish and clean the grave with one of the brushes hanging from various pillars, but she could do that together with her friends later on in the day. Offerings of items the deceased had enjoyed in life were expected, but her friends would doubtlessly have that covered: Usagi would bring handfuls of the plum-flavored candy Rei had liked, while Makoto would bring white Casablanca lilies that she grown for this very purpose.
Minako had her own gift planned, but for now, she had nothing but the incense stick in her hands. She pulled out her lighter and lit the incense before placing the end into the soft ground in front of the grave. Minako kneeled and clasped her hands together, feeling a little silly to be doing this with no one beside her. These kinds of rituals weren’t at all her style, but she knew that Rei (with her Shinto background) valued them. So Minako would do it.
“It’s been three years, huh? It feels like barely any time has passed.” Minako said to the empty air, knowing that speaking to the dead was an expected part of visiting their grave.
Thankfully, her mind was not crass enough to have her guilt-driven image of Rei respond here. The near-silence of the cemetery was all that reached Minako’s ears, though she still had the faint impression of someone standing behind her. Minako took a deep breath, noted the not-altogether-unpleasant scent of the burning incense, and continued.
“I’d like to say that I’m doing well, but all I can say is that I’m doing the same.” Minako said softly, feeling unusually honest at the moment.
If Minako hadn’t made much progress in fixing herself during the last three years, she could at least say that she hadn’t managed to destroy herself either. Although they were nights where she desperately wanted to, Minako hadn’t drunk herself into oblivion. She had kept any other appetites from spiraling out of control, though the occasional slipup was unavoidable.
“You’ll be happy to know that Makoto and I have patched things up, though. I can’t believe I spent all that time blaming her. She really should have kicked my ass to the curb a while ago, but you know how she is. We actually had dinner a couple of weeks back.” Minako explained in an easier manner, not feeling the pressure to maintain an overly respectful air with no one else around.
As Minako went on, a tightness in her stomach she hadn’t known was there gradually loosening. It felt good to talk here. Minako never let herself converse with the image of Rei her mind had conjured, lest she intensify her delusions. But talking to Rei’s headstone felt…healthy, sort of. It was a feeling Minako hadn’t experienced much of lately.
“As for Ami, we keep in touch. She’s in her final year of residency. Maybe once her schedule isn’t so hectic, we’ll be able to meet up more than a couple of times a year.” Minako remarked, genuinely hopeful that would be the case.
Minako’s clearest memory of Ami had been in the days after Rei’s death. Her always-analytical friend had explained to Minako and anyone who would listen that the explosion had been so powerful that Rei likely hadn’t felt a thing, obliterated in an instant as she was. Minako’s response hadn’t been kind, but she was no longer so ungenerous in her thoughts. If Ami was comforted by that knowledge, then Minako was glad. She hoped her other friends were too.
“Michiru and Haruka are doing great, as you’d expect. We see each other pretty often. I get invited to their house every weekend, but I obviously don’t take them up on it every time. If I don’t go two weeks in a row though, Haruka comes around. She seems to think I need looking after sometimes. I didn’t really appreciate it early on, but now I do.” Minako went on with a laugh, feeling unusually light and airy.
Though Minako didn’t want to admit it, those standings invitations were an important part of keeping her worst impulses from taking control. She could hardly go on a bender (alcoholic, sexual, or otherwise) without Michiru and Haruka finding evidence of that. Minako wasn’t certain what they would do if she did, but the desire to avoid seeing disappointment in Michiru’s face or what would no doubt be a strenuous attempt to “help” her from Haruka was enough to make Minako not want to find out.
“I’m sure you want to know about Usagi most of all. We hang out all the time. That hasn’t changed. I think Mamoru is finally getting ready to pop the question. If he hasn’t done it by the time summer’s over, I’ll have to speak to him.” Minako explained, her voice taking on a faux-grim tone.
Even more helpful than Michiru and Haruka’s ministrations was Usagi’s need for comfort. Though everyone had been hit hard by Rei’s death, Usagi was the only one who had been as close to Rei as she was. Minako couldn’t afford to go to pieces when Usagi needed her. The time they spent together was difficult for Minako, as Usagi’s easy ability to channel her emotions clashed with Minako’s arms-length relationship with her own. But that was why it was so important for Minako to be around her.
“That about covers it. I…I think you know there were things I wanted to say to you. Things I never got the chance to, and now I never will. I just…” Minako whispered, trying to press on but was suddenly unable to.
Tears filled Minako’s vision before she was able to shut her eyes. Of course. Loosening the tight grip she had kept on herself was always going to result in this happening. Minako’s first impulse was to grab ahold of herself again and will the tears to stop. But she didn’t. Minako dropped her hands and let her tears come hard and fast, glad that this embarrassing breakdown wasn’t happening in front of her friends.
It was quite a while before Minako had finished crying. She hadn’t allowed herself to do so in a long time. It was probably only the fact that her tears were not actually limitless that she had managed to stop. Minako wiped her cheeks and took several moments to catch her breath before she felt she was ready to continue.
“But that’s all in the past, sadly. You can’t change it, no matter how much you might want to. All you can do is use it to impact the future.” Minako said quietly, repeating words of advice that had been given to her.
They had always seemed like terribly hollow words. But as Minako stood up from the ground and regarded the headstone in front of her, she saw them in a slightly different light. Rei’s existence was entirely in the past now. She was in a place Minako could never reach, but did that mean that her friend had no effect on the world she had left behind? Hardly.
“I’d say goodbye, but there’s no need. I’ll be back here in a few hours with everyone else. We’ll see if Usagi manages to keep herself from eating all of those candies you like.” Minako said with a wink, reasoning that she might as well try to reclaim some of her famous charm now.
Minako turned to leave the cemetery. As she made her way through the pathways between family plots, something seemed different to her. Minako couldn’t put her finger on it until she was nearly at the cemetery gates. There were no footsteps trailing behind her. Minako couldn’t sense any presence there at all, in fact.
The ride back to her apartment went by in a flash, and not because Minako had leaned too heavily on the throttle. The air seemed fresher to Minako, though that was certainly her imagination. The Greater Tokyo Area had not suddenly become more breathable, that was for sure.
It was with a slight sense of trepidation that Minako entered her apartment. Everything was still, which meant Sanae had indeed left. There were no signs of theft or destruction, thankfully. The only difference Minako had found was a small note left on the kitchen table.
“I took you up on your generous offer to use your shower. Maybe I shouldn’t have expected anything else, but what’s done is done. I can’t say I’m not a little pissed, but I will say this: Here’s my number, and if you have the guts to call it, I’ll be expecting you to bring a gift to make it up to me. Make it a nice one, okay? -Sanae”
Minako smiled at the note. What’s done was indeed done. Minako’s admittedly shabby treatment of Sanae couldn’t be changed, but the future was her own to make.
Now the question was: what gift might Sanae like?
DELECTABLE. SO much of the things I love on display–I’m a huge sucker for the graveside visit, always have been always will be, this idea that we have to say things to people who are gone, even if we don’t think they can hear. I of course love the touches with Haruka, but also this idea that Mina CAN hurt but move on. That it’s doesn’t have stay like this. THank yoU!

Russia’s ИЛ Share Their Stark Vision in Startling New Video
~By Billy Goate~
Tumblr media
This week, we take a closer look at one of the bands featured in our new compilation, 'Doomed & Stoned in Russia (Vol. 1)' (2021), which was released in February. This is ИЛ from Moscow. Sometime after we reviewed their recent album 'Ересь' (2020), we received news that the band had a music video in the works to accompany it. It seemed high time for us to get to know this fascinating four-piece doom collective better.
Tumblr media
What is ИЛ's origin story? In other words, how did the band start?
The band was founded in the summer of 2013 by the members of several Moscow doom/sludge metal bands, Predicted and Magnetic TarTrap, which subsequently disbanded. ИЛ ("IL") in English is silt – mud from the swamp. The name gave us the original theme for our first releases, which were much like sounds from the swamps. From the original line-up, vocalist/guitarist Vlad and bassist Nikolay are still in the band.
It is interesting to note that the drummers in ИЛ changed and we have a funny story connected with the fact that instead of one Sergey Vinogradov, an artist from Tula, came another Sergey Vinogradov. With the second Sergey, by the way, we recorded our best albums Нечисть (“Nechist”) and Ересь (“Heresy”), and now he is again in our lineup.
Tumblr media
Initially, the chosen direction was sludge-doom with an admixture of drone and noise, but later the band changed its sound to the side of doom metal with death and black metal influences. It is because we grew musically with ИЛ, as if ИЛ was a living organism telling us what to do.
Our current line-up has a second guitarist, Stas from a black metal band ТУГА ("Tuga"), which is very close to us in spirit and theme and shares our rehearsal space, too. Some of our past members played in grindcore bands and others organized drone festivals. It’s classic for ИЛ that everyone listens to different music, yet are connected together by some unusual forces.
Tumblr media
What kind of instruments, pedals, amps, and other gear did you use on your most recent album?
Regarding the amps, we do not have strict preferences, but our tastes stop at the classic amplifiers: Marshall, Engl, and the russian Sovtek and AMT. On such devices we recorded our best releases and with them they will sound in the original way.
In terms of drum equipment, our drummer prefers Zildjian, but also likes Masterwork or Stagg. Also, the Yamaha pedal was a pleasant discovery for him. We play in a very low tuning, so our guitars and sound are appropriate, one of the guitars is a baritone.
Usually in Russian venues, you don't have an opportunity to choose from what sound setup to play and you have to play on what is available, but we have learned to get the right sound in almost any situation. We are not “equip psychos” and we do not pray to the walls of Orange amplifiers.
Tumblr media
Tell us about your most recent album — what are some of its themes and what inspired you to write the songs?
Many things inspired the theme of this album. First of all, it is the so-called Russian chthonic, Russian death, Russian witchcraft -- all that is characteristic of the dark side of our history, our legends, and beliefs. We have found many books related to these things and absorbed those images from there, which brought us to a deeper understanding of these things. And in many of our texts, our own mystical experiences associated with the world veiled around us: endless forests, fathomless swamps, as you know Russia is rich in such places.
Ересь by ИЛ
The album Heresy tells listeners about the path of a lyrical hero, who is lost in all this variety of horrors and nightmares accompanying Russian chthonic and implicitly striving for complete unnamed madness. As you see, his fate is depicted on the cover art of the album.
About the instrumental part, it is worth saying that we are fans of different genres of music, and each of those who compose it brings something of their own. On the one hand, we love doom metal in its stoner form, on the other hand black and death metal. The new album is closer to the last two genres, and we think it is good for us.
Tumblr media
What are some of your other influences in the realm of music, art, literature, history, etc.?
Naturally, there were some influences here, we are inspired by Russian writers Pimen Karpov, who wrote about the terrible Russian sects (his books were actually burned by Synod of Russian orthodox church) and Kondratyev with his witchcraft novels. Collections of ancient Slavic curses and charms, which can hardly be found in paper form.
But of course we pay tribute in all of our releases, including this one, to Howard Phillips Lovecraft. We would even say that we sometimes alter his mysticism and pantheon in our own Russian way. He influenced our first band and continues to influence ИЛ, as well.
Tumblr media
In videos and movies, we like surrealism: David Lynch, Jan Svankmajer, and Andrei Tarkovsky. Unfortunately, there are no good Lovecraft movies, but there are good board games with an atmosphere of his madness from FFG. Musically, we have been influenced by bands such as Winter, Electric Wizard, Cultes des Ghoules, Urfaust, Black Sabbath, Disembowelment, Cathedral, etc.
All of our art is drawn by one cool Russian artist: Vladimir Prokofiev. He understands as closely as possible the vision of our music and its design in visual terms, and creates his paintings under the impression of our descriptions and with all his skill. For example, five tarot cards (by the number of songs) are embedded in the vinyl of the Heresy album, each of which is drawn by him based on the text/
ИЛ — Ересь (official video)
Tell us about your new music video. Was it difficult to do? What steps did you take to make your vision a reality?
We've wanted to make a video for several years now and, to be honest, this is our second attempt. We think it is a success! All the work on filming, editing, and release was taken over by our friend Alexandr Swed. We will not describe the plot of the video for you, but if you have read this interview to the end, you will surely find echoes of the things that we described when we talked about the sources of inspiration. We would like to give the floor to Alexandr so that he could talk a little about the process and his vision of the picture, as well as his production.
Tumblr media
Alexandr: I believe that the main thing in any business is to burn with an idea and the desire to implement it. This is exactly the case when all the people involved in the production gave themselves completely to this project.
I am extremely grateful to everyone. Thinking over an idea, shooting, and editing is half the battle, but it is teamwork to implement everything in a high quality way.
Tumblr media
I'm just starting my way into music videos. This is the fourth music video that I've shot, but everything before that was frankly so-so, and I hope ИЛ's "Heresy" will become for me a starting point in the world of music videos.
Nowadays, it is not difficult to surprise with a beautiful picture, as there are much available film equipment, video editors, etc. And if your hands are not growing out of your ass, it is very difficult to get a bad picture. To hook with a plot, an idea, a video message -- this will be more difficult. Therefore, I try to include the maximum of any idea even in reportage videos. I also often shoot videos with a historical bias, narrative, art, and so forth. Come and see.

~ Hello everyone! I’m Lyhra and I’m so so so happy to see this rp back again ! Just like before, i’m bringing you again my troubled girl, Siyeon. She’s a dancer and joined the Kings four months ago, but be careful because she’s hiding some very shar cat claws waiting for the moment to attack. Oops! Feel free to check her profile and connection pages and, if you’d like to plot, like this post or send me a DM. I also have Discord, btw!
tw: death, murder (mention).
┅ ☆ ★ ✮ ∟ ‖ kim chungha. 21. cis-female. she/her. ‖ — dance moves that catch everyone’s attention , sweet words on a dangerous smile , a painful grief turning into fiery anger. 」did you hear that   KANG SIYEON   is a member of the   KINGS   ?!   i guess that’s how they’re able to afford the  CRIMSON RED YAMAHA V-STAR 650   i always see them in.   who would’ve thought being a      DANCER & INFILTRATOR      paid so well   …   i know people say they’re really CHARISMATIC , RESOURCEFUL & OPEN-MINDED , but don’t you think they come off way too VINDICTIVE  ,  OPINIONATED  &  FICKLE ? i can’t help but thinking of them whenever   HOUSE OF CARDS   by   BTS   comes on shuffle.   you know what they say ,   live fast , die young   ;   but i hope this one makes it. ┠ lyhra , UTC+2 , +21 & she/her ┨
born in a poor broken home, in Busan, her mother divorced her husband and had Siyeon years later with another man. she had a child from her previous marriage, Siwoo.
despite not having the same father, not living together and the five years age-gap between them, Siyeon and Siwoo were as close as bone and flesh.
she basically grew up on the streets, but her brother always tried and somewhat failed to keep her sheltered and protected from the dangers that surrounded their neighborhood, even if he was part of them.
has enjoyed dancing since being very little, but knew there was no future for her on that field since her family didn’t have the money. when Siwoo was old enough to start working, he brought Siyeon to a small dance school he paid by himself. he drove her to Seoul once, for an audition on a small agency (she passed it, but didn’t answer back).
she even joined a small dance crew at 15, they performed in the streets here and there and had a very small social media presence. their activity has slowed the past two years, although they are technically still together.
her relationship with her mother has always been troubled. Siyeon knows the woman loved her but she was always busier trying to find comfort on a new lover than paying attention to her child.
still, her mother’s love-life has deeply impacted Siyeon’s view about what love and relationships are or should be. thus she has a history with love as troubled and messed up as her mother’s, always looking for love in the worst places.
Siyeon was 18 when she contacted one of Siwoo’s friends for help in finding a job, and started working on a club as a dancer. she wanted to pay back everything her brother had been giving to her the pasts years.
with this, it was only a matter of time that Siyeon would join the same gang her brother had been in since its forming: the Hellcats. even if he was quite against it at the beginning.
there have been very little things the siblings argue about. the first one was motorcycles and cars, the former being Siyeon’s favorite and the later being Siwoo’s, a topic they loved bickering about. the second one was the underground fights her brother used to be part of, when his wage as a mechanic wasn’t enough to pay the bills.
and it all ended in a fight, seven months ago. Siyeon was busy at work when she got a call: her brother had been badly injured and was being taken to the hospital. she rushed there but it didn’t matter, it was too late. Siwoo died that night from brain damage due to several contusions on his head.
the following two months were hard. she wanted to be angry at Siwoo for being part of those fights, for abandoning her when he had promised never to do that, but how could she hate him when all he did was to try and provide more for their family?
the pain became easier to hold when she got the tip. it had been no accident, she was told, and it had been one of the Kings. Siyeon needed to hear no more, anger was much better than grief.
knowing that she would do the impossible to find her brother’s killer, the Hellcat’s leader proposed Siyeon to infiltrate the enemy gang as an informant. that way she could dig about what had happened, prove (or not) her suspicions, and also be of use to the Hellcats. she accepted without hesitation.
tldr: had a brother, loved said brother, brother died, she thinks he killed, now she revenge. troubled girl.
here for her aesthetics.
here for siwoo’ stats.
personality
charismatic: she has a natural allure around her and catches people’s attention with ease. If it’s not due to the way she says something it’s because of how she moves or the look in her eyes.
open-minded: judging is not something she does. mostly preferring letting people do their thing, there’s little she disapproves if it has nothing to do with her.
resourceful: quick-witted and ingenious, she might not be always the best at everything not get the bigger end of the stick, but she knows how to turn things to her best benefit.
fickle: her affections change with the wind and her temperament can be triggered quite easily, her life can be sometimes like a roller coaster.
vindictive: she may forgive, but for sure she won’t forget. and she’ll make sure to get even. Sooner or later.
opinionated: it’s very difficult to change her thought or take her out of something she’s feeling resolute about. when she has something on her mind, she’s determined and passionate, but also stubborn.

Let’s Watch HeartCatch Pretty Cure, Episode 1
I fully admit, I am a recent convert to the Pretty Cure cause. It’s not like I was never interested--I’ve loved magical girls since I first saw Sailor Moon as a kid--but it never quite seemed like the right time. I eventually picked up the currently airing Star Twinkle Precure at the start of its run, and I’ve been loving it! It’s a great series, and I highly recommend it.
It is also not what this blog is going to be about for the forseeable future. I’ve decided to take the plunge into the 49-episode Heartcatch Precure, and I will be using my blog over the coming weeks (and months?) to liveblog the experience.
I was interested in Heartcatch Precure for several reasons. Mostly the art style, and some whisperings I’d heard about one of the main characters. Nothing really prepared me for how the series starts though. To provide some context, Star Twinkle, the only Precure series I’m really familiar with, starts on a pretty lighthearted note. So I was really not expecting what I got out of the first scene here.
Because Heartcatch starts with someone dying.
Episode I - “I’ll Change! I’ll Show You I Can Change!!”
I took my first screencap 14 seconds into Heartcatch, and I say that without shame. The show looks absolutely gorgeous--even moreso in motion, I may end up forcing myself to figure out the arcane art of the gif recorder to fully convey what’s going on here visually. I expect this to drop off at some point, anime are often prettiest in their earliest and last episodes after all, but still, it’s one hell* of an introduction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This introductory sequence captures a battle between the mysterious, beautiful Cure Moonlight, and what is presumably her evil counterpart. I knew nothing about any of these people watching this sequence and it was absolutely enthralling. The art strikes me as kind of Utena-influenced? I may be drawing off of a limited knowledge pool, though.
Moonlight is killed by her assailant, and the lone Precure’s last wish is that her fairies find successors worthy of succeeding where she failed.
Tumblr media
No joke, this is a gutsy way to start a show aimed at kids. Children have capacity for the full spectrum of human emotion, and I do appreciate when a kid’s series treats them with the respect they deserve. Is it still for girls in gradeschool? Sure, but, right off the bat, Heartcatch seems genuinely interested in telling a story in the heroic tradition.
All this before we’re even introduced to our actual protagonist. Who was dreaming the scene we just saw.
Tumblr media
I have a deep, genuine love of mahou shoujo protagonists. In my mind, none have ever done anything wrong. But this girl? This girl’s extra great, I can tell. Look at that character design! She’s so round!
Before we can learn much else, this girl (who we’ll shortly learn is named Tsubomi Hanasaki) arrives at the end of a roadtrip, and at her grandma’s house. Cut to OP.
The OP is very pretty as well, and seems to not-quite-spoil quite a few things. I want to give a nod to the fansubbers here (if you’re going to yell at me for piracy you should quick google “Precure, watch legally, English” and see how far you get) for the lovely subtitling done with the OP song.
Tumblr media
Cut back to the episode and after a brief title card thanking the show’s sponsors (the only one I recognized was Yamaha, I suppose this was prior to the Precure brand’s partnership with McDonald’s) we get the long and short of Tsubomi’s backstory.
Tumblr media
More importantly, we learn something that’s kind of surprising. I’ll let Tsubomi speak for herself here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The general rule of thumb in magical girl series (including many of the other Precure shows), the character associated with colors like red, pink, and magenta is the brash, energetic one. Tsubomi being reserved is an interesting flip of that trope, she seems rather bookish, and is prone to embarassing herself. There’s a really funny bit just after this where she spots a 4-leaf clover in a flowerbed and asks it to grant her wish that she become more outgoing and friendly. Then she realizes she’s doing this in front of a bunch of people on her way to school, and, flustered, hurriedly scurries off.
Tsubomi introduces herself to her class. Trying to put on a bold face but failing, and then, after writing her name in a barely-legible size on the blackboard, this happens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’ll be our second protagonist. This is Erika Kurumi, who is charming in her own way, and if I can confess, the main reason I became interested in this series, for reasons we won’t get to for several more episodes if I had to guess.
Tsubomi is a very relatable lead, but Erika even in these few introductory minutes, seems like a character a lot of young girls would identify with too. I know this was sometimes me as a young’n.
Tumblr media
Random aside here, their teacher is quite nice too, and also pretty easy on the eyes in a soft butch sorta way. Is this how I know I’m getting old? Being attracted to anime characters’ teachers?
Tumblr media
In any case, the (unintentional?) teasing leaves poor Tsubomi a little flustered. Though she quickly recovers when her class seem genuinely happy to get to know her.
Then it turns out that the only free seat in the classroom is next to Erika, to which Tsubomi’s reaction is, well, I’m not sure I could fish up an apt adjective for this particular splash screen.
Tumblr media
The two have some lovely interactions during class. Including the shot that’s currently serving as my banner over on Anilist, but mostly, they banter, and the classic “clashing personalities” device is really put to good effect here. It’s almost a given that they’ll become close friends later on--possibly quite soon--but for now, you definitely get why they wouldn’t jive with each other.
10 minutes--goodness, we’re only that far in and I’ve already said so much--into the episode, we get to the main conflict. Namely, well, once again, a screencap summarizes it better than I could.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erika is the last remaining member of the school’s fashion club, and needs someone else to join it. She attempts to recruit Tsubomi, who isn’t having it. Something of a rift having sprung between the two, they end up walking the same way home.
Tumblr media
Like, all the same way home.
Tumblr media
In a delightful convenience of plot, Erika and Tsubomi are neighbors.
Tumblr media
A surprisingly pumpin’ pop-rock track swells in the soundtrack as Erika drags Tsubomi next door, promising to help her with the personal change she so desires. Erika’s the daughter of fashion designers, and it shows.
Tumblr media
Still, despite her little smile here Tsubomi stands up for herself and tells Erika to basically cut it out. We’re also briefly introduced to Erika’s older sister Momo, who lightly scolds her younger sibling. As sisters do.
Tumblr media
Erika, realizing she’s caused an issue, has something of a temper tantrum after Tsubomi leaves. All this miniature kid-drama, charming as it is, is enough to make you briefly forget that you’re watching a magical girl show, and a series as esteemed as Precure can’t have that, now can it?
Smash cut to these little ones.
Tumblr media
These are the fairies that Cure Moonlight was beseeching in the intro. There’s no telling at this point how many years later on we are, but the evil Desert Apostles seem to still be at work, and the fairies seek out one Cure Flower, to alert her to their presence.
Below, Tsubomi is hanging out in a field, getting some fresh air after the earlier awkwardness and musing on the recurring dreams she has about Moonlight.
Tumblr media
I think dear reader, that we all know the answer to that question.
Tumblr media
The fairies, in distress and fleeing from the Desert Apostles, promptly do something they could not get away with on a similarly age-targeted show on American television, and hide by jumping down Tsubomi’s shirt. Which leads to a pretty dang weird segment where Tsubomi hides the fairies from this lady.
Tumblr media
By….well, you can see the picture. This manages to be reasonably funny and only a little uncomfortably weird.
The Desert Apostle lady comes across Erika, sulking in a nearby park, and we get an immediate demonstration of how the whole “sad person-->monster for the protagonists to fight” flowchart works in Heartcatch. It is to the show’s credit that despite not really “showing” anything (remember: kids’ show), the transformation from person into a flower manages to look *incredibly* uncomfortable. Erika shouting her lungs out doesn’t help.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And about here, any even mildly-seasoned watcher of mahou shoujo series will know, is where things start to pop off.
Tumblr media
To her credit, Tsubomi does try diplomacy.
Tumblr media
But it doesn’t really take.
Tumblr media
So we’ve got Tsubomi and the fairies being pursued by a vengeful, possessed, mustard-colored muppet doll. Something we learn is called a Desertian. Bonus points: being powered by Erika’s “flower of the heart” means that she yells half-coherent jealous nonsense about her sister.
Tumblr media
As far as starter monsters go, this is a pretty effective one! It draws on an inner life of a character we already know a bit about, so the struggles that she faces that are reflected in the dolls ramblings make sense. There’s also some exposition here about heart flowers being separated from their hosts weakening the Great Heart Tree, the thing Cure Moonlight was defending in the opening scene.
Tsubomi promptly outdoes several anime airing at the time of this writing, and takes a brave stance against magically-induced slavery.
Tumblr media
And then, the magic starts.
Tumblr media
There’s some brief beating around the bush in a bit of the self-effacery that’s become common in the genre, but thankfully just enough to be charming and silly instead of over-the-top and forced.
Tumblr media
But Tsubomi has the right idea.
Tumblr media
And it’s here that I thank god for both youtube and the Pretty Cure fans that have gone before me, because there is nothing that needs to be seen in motion more than magical girl transformation sequences.
youtube
Tumblr media
There is no one cooler than a magical girl who’s just transformed for the first time, and I firmly believe that in my maiden’s heart of hearts.
With Tsubomi’s first transformation into Cure Blossom, the episode ends, on quite the cliffhangar! I’m sure both Blossom and our pal Erika will be alright in the long run, but goodness, talk about a great first impression!
I didn’t really expect to devote this much text to just one episode but it was so impressive it was impossible not to. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.
I doubt all my posts will be this long, and I intend to combine multiple episodes into a single post in the future. Especially when we get to filler, since it’s hard to fill almost an entire day’s worth of video footage without putting in at least a few time-killers. Still, I’m loving this so far.
Tsubomi is a great protagonist. As someone who was also pretty shy and bookish in middle school, I really feel like a lot of girls must’ve really looked up to her. It’s a hard thing to measure, but I wonder just how many little girls she helped be just a bit more confident in their daily lives?
Such lofty musings aside, I’m excited to get to the next episode. Until then, you can peruse the promotionals after the final cut here. See you soon!

Long story short, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Royal Enfield motorcycles, even though I learned to ride on one. Sure, it was big, burly and entirely different from the rest of the econo-commuters available in India when I was coming of age, but that wasn’t saying much. When it came time to buying my first bike – a critical time of flux for me personally – it was a toss-up between a Machismo and the fast, dangerous, economically suicidal RD350. With all that was going on in my life at the time, I didn’t want to compromise. I wanted what I wanted. I bought the Yamaha, met a girl, married her, met many credit cards, spent them all on the bike and twenty years later, the story continues. Well, mostly.
The Meteor 350 that I’ve been riding is the successor to the Thunderbird, which was by all accounts, a great success for Royal Enfield. To me, however, it was a bit awkward, pretending to be something it was not – a proper cruiser. From the spy shots that have been floating around the Internet, the Meteor looked much the same, but I’m happy to say that it isn’t. Not by a long shot. Unlike previous models from the legendary manufacturer, the Meteor only borrows an old marque; everything else is quite new.
Royal Enfield is cool (again?)
The myth, aura and credit due to Royal Enfield motorcycles, frankly, are a product of fortuity. The Bullet tugs at the heartstrings because it has always been there. It has endured nearly unchanged for half a century, and even the most Vulcan of rational thinkers would succumb to nostalgia when talking about that old 350 or 500 their uncle/friend/lover had at some point. But in the last decade or so, there’s been a sea-change in the way the company looks at, and projects itself. Walk into a Royal Enfield showroom and it feels like a lifestyle brand. The apparel and gear are carefully curated, and go with the ethos of their retro/classic motorcycles. As does the dapper CEO, who made the pitch for the new bike in a cinematic video shot while he rode the bike in bright red gloves and boots. The film too had the right tone, look and messaging. It feels aspirational, not agrarian.
That’s not to say that RE has gone so far upmarket as to lose touch with the machismo that they so incite. On my way home with the bike, I was accosted by two lorry and one rickshaw driver, all of whom knew that this was the Meteor and it was to be launched on the sixth of November. Enfield comms department: take a bow.
The Meteor 350 is an all-new motorcycle
Knowing Royal Enfield’s history, it is hard to stress this enough. The company is steeped in tradition, and that can hold things back against the march of progress. But time carries on, and with it have come many sweeping differences in the new motorcycle. The Meteor uses a new frame, an entirely new engine, new switchgear, lighting, ergonomics and tech. India’s strict BS6 emissions norms have meant tectonic shifts in the Indian automotive space, and 2-wheelers are no exception. The new 349cc motor forms a strong base for what is likely to be a raft of future motorcycles. Gone are pushrods, replaced with a single overhead camshaft. Primary drive is now geared, there’s a balancer shaft to keep things smooth and the gearbox is slick and traditional (with a shifter on the left side).
The frame has two down-tubes now, cradling the motor, but not quite. The engine is not a stressed member of the chassis. Suspension is traditional, but beefy. 41mm forks up front, with twin shocks at the back. The rider triangle is laid back, with forward-set footpegs that put your weight roundly on your bum, and the torso in a tall, commanding position.
If you don’t know what all this means, think of it this way: the old Enfields felt like a coalition government, while the Meteor 350 feels more like a benevolent dictatorship. Things are tight and run together as a unit. It feels like any other motorcycle, with no excuses needed about ‘character’.
A word about tech
As a (mostly) tech journalist, this was the biggest surprise to me. Royal Enfield has supplied a secondary display unit called the ‘Tripper’ on all variants of the Meteor 350. The screen serves as a turn-by-turn navigation unit when paired with your smartphone. It is excellent. Traditionally, I expect very little in terms of tech from an automotive manufacturer. They just seem tone-deaf most of the time. Not so with the Tripper. It is excellent in execution, and as RE is at pains to explain, provides only the information you need and nothing more.
Once you plot a route in the Royal Enfield smartphone app – which uses Google Maps as a base – you simply punch ‘Navigate’ and turn-by-turn directions are displayed in the little pod to the left of the main console. Arrows indicate the direction of your route, and supplementary, minimal info informs you of lane suggestions. The routing is smart enough to let you know specifically when to take the road below the flyover and not climb it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to mix laxative in the KTM watercooler for their garbage navigation.
This is very, very new for the Royal Enfield we know. Considering that this is a first attempt, and it gets so much right, I’m excited to see what they do next!
The Meteor 350 looks like an old motorcycle
The design of the Meteor is far too similar to that of the outgoing Thunderbird series. In fact, all the spy shots over the past few months made it look like a sticker job more than a new motorcycle. While the lines are more refined, I think Royal Enfield perhaps missed an opportunity to make this otherwise fresh motorcycle stand out.
A cursory glance hides so much that’s new. The double down-tube frame, for instance, is easily missed. The side profile is very familiar, as is the characteristic shape of the frame. It is clearly intentional, and in this case, very conservative. The rake is a degree tighter and the rear mudguard quite thick, giving the impression of a stubby, squashed motorcycle, not the laid-back cruiser vibe they’re selling.
One must give it to them for attention to detail, however. Everything does flow quite nicely. I was particularly impressed with the rider’s view. The handlebar grips are retro, as are the clutch and brake levers. Even the console, while a hybrid analogue/digital unit, doesn’t look out of place. Royal Enfield is quite proud of their rotary toggle switches as you’d have had on old British motorcycles. It just doesn’t work as well on the left side for the passing switch. More on that latter. All in all, impressive once you pay attention, as the company hopes their faithful will.
The Meteor 350 goes like a modern motorcycle
... or a close approximation of one, considering what it is. Sticking to its heritage of making a tried-and-tested 350cc motor, Royal Enfield has taken very calculated steps into 2020 with this venerable warhorse. To pass BS6 legislation, the motor now uses a modern, traditional valvetrain and a catcon to keep the smoke clean. They’ve even managed to retain some (but not all) of the iconic thump that one expects of a Bullet variant.
On the go, things feel tight, cohesive. The front and rear aren’t telling your mind different things at the same time. Twist and go, really. I found the Meteor 350 to be exceptional in the city, betraying none of its 191kg wet weight. The fuel injection feels accurate, not lean and edgy, so your right wrist is in harmony with the progress of the bike. It feels light, almost nimble in traffic, and the suspension makes short work of rough roads. The general consensus seems to be that the Meteor feels stiff to aid handling, but this was not my experience. The 19” front wheel adds to it’s rough road readiness.
The 20-odd horsepower propelling this mass won’t deliver relaxed triple-digit cruising, but the 27Nm of torque ensures that you never really want for extra poke in the city. Overtakes and launches from traffic lights are now possible, not just noisy. The engine does start running out of steam past 100kmph so while it’s going to be better than its older 350cc brethren, it’s still not a fast mile-muncher. And most will tell you that it isn’t supposed to be. As a relaxed highway cruiser, it will work fine, I think, especially two-up.
The new motor will surprise you with its refinement more than its performance. The primary balancer shaft ensures a surprisingly vibe-free experience, even as the revs rise and you go faster. This should make for a more comfortable long-hauler, since your hands and feet will tingle less than on earlier Royal Enfield motorcycles. It’s nowhere as smooth as their twins, however. Brakes are okay. The discs are a generous size and get the job done, but feel is lacking from the front. It does its thing but conveys little. The ABS is dual-channel, so no pinching paisas here.
There are some compromises for form against function on the Meteor. The switchgear is wonderfully retro, but you need your thumb to flash your high beam. This means you can’t honk and flash at the same time, something many do for extra safety. The levers too have this period look to them, but they’re not kind on thin fingers like mine. And while the plush seat feels comfortable at first try, with forward-set footpegs, there is no chance of taking any weight onto your legs. Spotted a nasty pothole too late? Get off the brakes and brace for spinal compression. Your back will take the brunt of impact right through your tailbone. I heard this feedback on more than one occasion, but it’s part of the whole foot-forward cruising design. It’s a thing. It’s just not the ideal thing.
The Meteor 350 can be specifically yours
Available in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova, the bikes are identical save for paint schemes and accessories. Ah, the accessories. So. Many. Accessories. Royal Enfield offers the top variant with a windshield and pillion backrest, and you can pick from no less than six accessory mufflers, each with a different sound and look. No more raiding the aftermarket for loud (illegal) exhaust units, which can be a liability in some states with aggressive policing. Thankfully, the excellent ‘Tripper’ navigation system is standard across variants.
Apart from the Interceptor 650, there isn’t another Royal Enfield motorcycle I’d rather ride than the Meteor 350. It’s a nice, rewarding ride with few compromises. I’d just as quickly jump onto it for a short trip around town as my KTM. For longer journeys, the only thing holding me back would be its lack of speed.
The Meteor 350 is based on an all-new platform, one that will be the base of many future models. Starting at Rs 1.76 lac, buyers can now comfortably indulge their Royal Enfield fantasies, without making too many excuses to their friends who ride bikes that start every single time. The smiles and appreciation from lorry drivers are free.

Real Talk: Sonic and the Vocaloid Project
Name: Sonic and the Vocaloid Project
Fandom(s): Sonic the Hedgehog and Vocaloid
Chapter(s): 10
Description: Sonic is about to gains some new friends as he meets the Vocaloids, artificial humans created for making wonderful songs that would even the most depressed person very happy but the evil Dr. Eggman has other plans to use the Vocaloids for his own bidding. As the story goes on Sonic for the first time finds love for the most popular singer of all the Vocaloids Miku Hatsune.
Summary: When Eggman crashes a Vocaloid concert and kidnaps Miku, Luka, Rin, and Len, Sonic and Tails have to save them. After that, they become friends (and Knuckles shows up too), then something unexpected happens...
Good gracious this went from about a six to a thirteen on the cringiness scale really freaking quickly.
I can at least tell that author tried a LITTLE bit, what with trying to explain where Vocaloids come from in a logical manner and things like that, but this entire story just feels REALLY contrived. Tails gets Sonic to go to a Vocaloid concert, then Eggman kidnaps the Vocaloids because he thinks he can turn them into super-weapons (however that would work), then Sonic and Tails save them almost immediately with no trouble, then they go to where the Vocaloids live, then Knuckles shows up for some reason, then the story takes a nosedive because author just couldn't help themselves.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles get turned into humans.
It comes out of nowhere, is not properly explained, just sort of happens, and author really only does it for the lulz and so that the romance plots don't come off as bestiality. At least, that's my best guess as to why it happened because it CERTAINLY didn't need to be here. All it does is whiplash the audience into another plot halfway through the story and overstay its welcome. It's also needlessly awkward and it doesn't feel natural at all.
I'm almost convinced that this entire story was only written for the romantic subplots. Basically, author tries to get Sonic with Miku, Tails with Rin, and Knuckles with Luka throughout the entire story (which is actually standard practice in Sonic-Vocaloid crossovers for some reason???). The relationships don't progress naturally, though. They start awkward and they stay awkward all the way through. This also really didn't need to be here.
I actually would have been perfectly fine if this story was just the first half and ended after Sonic and Tails saved the Vocaloids. Sure, it would have still been a poorly-written story with terrible pacing and a contrived plot, but at least it would have seemed KIND OF like something everyone and their brother hadn't done in a Sonic-Vocaloid crossover before. After that point, though, the story turned into a cliche mess that I've seen in this realm of ff.net too many times before.
It's also REALLY clear that the author only has the most basic knowledge of BOTH these fandoms. The only Sonic references that are ever made are to Sonic Adventure (although both Mecha Knuckles and Shadow are mentioned, but those barely count) and the only Vocaloids that appear are the Crypton Vocaloids and Gakupo. Author tries to make it seem like they know what they're talking about, as evidenced by them referring to the Vocaloids as being made by Yamaha (which is really only half-true), but they then turn around and talk about Meiko and Kaito being the first Vocaloids (which isn't true in the slightest). It's actually kind of infuriating how shallow it all is.
(Did I also mention that the grammar is absolutely atrocious and the pacing and logic are both really bad? I mean, Luka tries to explain that the Vocaloids need to be kept secret when they were literally doing a concert at the start of the story and pretty much everyone in the city knew about them according to Tails.)
Overall, Sonic and the Vocaloid Project is a mess. I didn't have fun reading it because I could either exactly predict what was going to happen, or I couldn't predict what was going to happen and, when that something did happen, I broke down in a fit of “is this author actually serious???”. There was so much wrong with it, but, at the same time, there's pretty much nothing memorable about it. Heck, I even had a better time reading “The Suit Switch”.
...
Well, that was a BIT of an exaggeration, but you get the point.

Headcanon Ramble: Superhero Elements in Vocal Android
I had to make a post about this sooner or later, right?
As everyone probably knows unless you’re new, a major part of the Vocal Android fanverse is the fact that the characters are actually part-time superheroes along with being singers. I’ve talked some about it in the past but I thought I might as well be more descriptive here, especially since I’ve had some new ideas on where this part of the story goes and how the characters feel about it.
Info under the cut! This is VERY long because I get carried away.
To expand on a post I made around last week, the funny thing about the group becoming superheroes is that Miku, Rin, Len and later Luka have wildly different views on the responsibility.
See, while they were officially declared heroes in Sapporo for their saving the city from being destroyed by Rin’s berserk road roller, they expected it to be a one-time thing. It was just something that happened--it was certainly bizarre that it did happen, as that chip that they found causing the problem was not placed in there by any of them, but it wasn’t such a big mystery that they felt the need to follow up on it. I mean, whatever, right? The day was saved, Rin’s road roller was brought back to normal, they got some nice rewards for helping the town. All’s well that ends well, right?
But then...more haywire machines started to show up. Even more mysteriously, all courtesy of the same kind of microchip that was in Rin’s road roller.
And of course, this comes into play when Miku and friends first start going to high school.
Like mentioned in the said previous post I made, Miku honestly did NOT want to be a superhero. She’s a fun-loving girl, and she loves adventure, but she honestly was quite content with “adventure” only extending to “going on quirky trips across the globe singing with her best pals”. Not “having to save the world every week from murderous out-of-control robots while also having to figure out the cause of said murderous robots”. I mean, doesn’t she have enough on her plate? As she continuously suggested, why not get the actual authorities to do something instead of asking her? Especially since fighting isn’t something she particularly enjoys doing, nor is it even her forte?
Well, a couple of reasons. Due to already having the mark of saving the city from giant robot threats, everyone naturally expected Miku to help out again, and she crumbles under peer pressure. Two, she does have superpowers, all things considered--that alone makes her much more qualified to destroy rogues than any human. And also, she’s a robot herself, so she should know everything about shutting down other ones!
Naturally, Miku disagrees with all of the above. But, albeit very, very clumsily, she manages to save her school, and soon, the occurrences become more common, meaning Miku and the team finds themselves frequently saving Sapporo from threat after threat. And they slowly but surely gain footing while doing so; with Gumi’s scientific knowledge supplementing Meiko and Kaito’s, Gakupo’s backup, and Luka’s later addition to the squad, they begin to get pretty good at this hero thing. What’s more, they end up encountering more than a few rogue machines--Zatsune and Kageito show up, Tei and Mayu show up, it gets crazy pretty quick.
And soon, it gets even crazier: while fighting off evil clones and counterparts while shooing off minor antagonists such as Neru or Ling, the team gets noticed by bigger people: more specifically, the secret agency YAMAHA. Being recruited as agents additionally puts them in the midst of more serious crime scenarios, such as the dark mysteries of the Honne and Macne Corporations, and the group gets busy as the new Cyber Detective Brigade. But as they get stronger and more well-known, their battles extend from corrupt executives and killer robots to the plain supernatural, such as a certain hostile alien race...but I should probably stop there.
As for how the others feel about all this?
Well, Len mostly sides with Miku on this one (at least before she grows into the role) although for different reasons. Len thinks the idea of being a fighter very cool to think about, but very dangerous in actual practice, and therefore objects mostly due to that. In other words, he’s most concerned about his sister and the others getting hurt or reckless, rather than because he objects to the actual job. This belief of his does become somewhat of a grounding force, though, Len always was the truly practical one.
Rin, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of Miku--she jumped at the call. She loves being a superhero, and is quite vocal about it. Rin usually is the one rushing out the door to go save the day when the group is called upon, and gets the utmost thrill out of beating bad guys and going on hyper scifi adventures. As you can guess, she very much tends to ignore that great power comes great responsibility. Although as time goes on, she slowly stops thinking of the job as an opportunity to be cool and powerful and more as a chance to help the city, and she calms down a little as a result.
Luka? Luka is strictly the neutral of the neutral--as long as she’s being helpful somehow to her fans and to her creators, she’s all for the crazy adventuring and mystery. Although, she partly shares Len’s view on the job being dangerous, but instead of advising against the job she simply takes it upon herself to be the team’s source of protection. Gotta keep those crazy kids safe.
And Meiko and Kaito? Well, they definitely are proud of the kids for their trying to help, but believe me, they worry. They worry a lot. After all, they feel like parents to the other four--it’s only natural for them to want them to be safe. So that in mind, Meiko and Kaito are often just as involved in the adventure as everyone else; they usually provide backup and support, or stay as mission control, so to speak. Meiko in particular gets caught up in the action a lot, and while Kaito prefers to stay behind in the sidelines, he grows to become a lot more eager to join the battle.
Now, all of this said? This is still the relative B-plot to Vocal Android, as it’s still a silly comedy alongside as a scifi-fantasy. But sometimes this B-plot will switch to an A-plot, so I wanted to be a bit clearer on my plans for this.
Anyway, I rambled for a long time, didn’t I? Sorry. I get excited. Once again, will probably elaborate further as we go along.

Spencer Reid Fic., Pt. 4 (1)
I came up with the plot for this one before watching season 8, so for anyone knowing about the Maeve story arc, this fic exists outside of that universe.
I’m just very indecisive but I decided to go with my original plan.
Also, this is going to be really long, so I’ll release it in parts.
PT. 3
PT. 2
PT. 1
Warning : there is some violence/gore/stalking in this one, but if you’re OK with watching a show like Criminal Minds you should be fine.
Hades pt. 1 -- Exposition, First theme
Sometime around 4:30, Spencer was trying to silently put socks on.  I sat up and rubbed my eyes, content to watch him for a minute.  I wasn’t sure if he owned a mirror, but his consistently tousled hair and crooked ties suggested he hadn’t seen one in a decade.
“Did I wake you?” he whispered.
“Kinda, but I’ve always been a light sleeper.  And, you don’t need to whisper we’re both awake,” I whispered back.
“Well in that case,” he flipped the light switch, I answered with my impersonation of a pterodactyl eating a cow.  Laughing, he continued, “I have to go into work, you’re welcome to stay here though.”
I glanced at my phone and frowned.  Evelyn was supposed to text me as soon as she and her boyfriend were done canoodling so I knew she double checked the locks.  She hadn’t.  I slid out of bed and pulled my jeans, which had been thrown in a pile by the door, back on.
“Actually, I need to get back to my place.  It’s probably nothing, but Evelyn always texts me when I ask her to.  I just want to make sure everything is alright.”
“Oh, I’ll come with you.”
“No, no, I don’t want to make you late.”
He patted my forehead and said, “I’ll come with you.  Hotch won’t even notice.”
“Okie dokie then.  Thank you.”  He continued into the bathroom, shoving a toothbrush haphazardly into his mouth.
“Thanks again, Spencer,” I smiled at him, standing in the doorway.  He gave this smile every once in a while that just looked through me and he was giving it now.
Running a hand through his hair he said, “Are you sure you’re OK?”
I glanced around behind me, “Yeah, the door was locked and Eve’s always been a heavy sleeper.”  I shifted my weight, hoping I wouldn’t let on how worried I was.  “Worry about you, alright?  Be safe.”
“I will.  Gotta go, but I’ll call you... eventually!?” he continued as he jogged down the hallway.
Laughing to myself I closed the door and turned the lock.  The apartment that Eve and I rented was small, but I’d managed to cram in the Yamaha piano I’d gotten at a yard sale when we first moved here.  Running my fingers down the keys, I realized that Spencer had never actually been in my apartment.  I wonder if he’s profiled something out of me because of that.
“Di!  Good grief it’s five in the morning, what the rockets are you doing up?” Evelyn came stumbling out of her room in her pajamas, rubbing her eyes.  Taking in my appearance, though, she straightened and gave me that, in her words, “bow-chicka-wow-wow” face.
“No drawing conclusions.  None of that.  I need caffeine.”
She followed me into the kitchen skipping.  “Isn’t that what you wore yesterday?  Doesn’t your nerd go to work at this ungodly hour?” she feigned a shocked gasp, “Were you with him all night?  Di.  Tsk, so naughty.”
“We didn’t actually....”  She let her shoulders droop, looking confused.  “He’s been working too hard.  We were on that track, but he was out when he hit the mattress.  Apparently there’s a serial killer in the area.”  Eve shivered and handed me the coffee grinder.
In between pulses of the grinder I remarked, “And who exactly,” crckcrckwhrrrr, “are you calling naughty,” crckcrackwhrrrchrck, “you spent all night talking about leather and whipped cream.”
Allen appeared suddenly, looking no worse for wear but irritable.
“Women are insane, do you have any idea what time it is?”  Pouting, he sat down and only perked when I slid him a mug of coffee.
“Yes, Allen.  Do you have any idea who’s house you’re in?”  I sipped on my own mug.
A sudden, cheeky smile broke his face, “Have I ever mentioned how wonderfully hospitable you are, Diana?”
It was almost 5:30, time for me to get ready for work.  Rolling my eyes, I waved at them and made my way into the bathroom to hopefully salvage what was left of my appearance.
I worked part-time as an assistant at a recording studio, but I’d enrolled in an online college for a degree in computer science.  At around 12:30, I was sitting at my desk sifting through some assembly; it was a slow day.  White and Nerdy began to emanate from my top left drawer and I couldn’t stop the smile spreading across my face.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Diana.  I just wanted to check in; we haven’t made any breaks for the past few days, so the case is going to go cold soon.  We should be able to watch movies uninterrupted for at least a couple hours.”
I laughed, “You should sleep for those hours, honestly you slept like a baby last night.”
“Infants are actually terrible sleepers, especially if they suffer from separation anxiety... Um, I have a huge favor to ask of you.”
“Oh, OK.  What is it?”
He took a deep breath in before saying, “Someone I work with figured out we’re seeing each other and demands to meet you.”
I laughed, “That’s all?  Send me their contact, I’ll figure something out.”
“Really?  Garcia will be thrilled, but I warn you, she’s kind of eccentric.”
“Hmm, sounds like someone else I know.  Wait.  Penelope Garcia?  You work with Penelope Garcia?”
“Yes, she’s our analyst, the best-”
“I know, we studied her in one of my computer security courses.  Her source and encryption algorithms were revolutionary.  Send me her info, oh my gosh.”
“I will, I’ll text it to you.  I’ve gotta run, but I’ll see you later this week after we wrap up the paperwork for this guy.  And then maybe you could meet the rest of the team?  They all, sort of, know.  Profilers.”
“Sure, sure.  Be safe, see you soonish.”
Around noon the next day, I met Penelope Garcia at a cafe she’d recommended for lunch.  I tried not to let myself get nervous, but not only was I about to meet a renowned figure in my future field, she worked with Spencer.  She was grinning when she vigorously shook my hand.
“Hi, I’m Penelope!  It’s so nice to meet you, you look so much nicer than I’d imagined!”  Her hair was done up with pink ribbon and she was wearing gigantic orange hoop earrings.
“Uh... thank you?”
“Oh, I meant nicer, like friendlier not prettier or anything I mean I assumed you’d be pretty and you obviously are but,” she finally drew a breath.
I laughed and withdrew my arm, “It’s nice to meet you too, I’m a big fan of your work, and your hacking skills, but mostly your work.”
Her smile widened and she sat down.  “So Reid found himself a techie, interesting.  So,” she said, clasping her hands, “tell me about yourself.”  I sat across from her and mirrored her posture.
“Well that’s a loaded question if I’ve ever heard one.  I’m, uh, twenty four years old.  I’m a Pisces...? Haha, what is it you want to know?”
“Anything, everything.  Do you have any pets?  Where did you go to school?  Why did you leave the music business?”  I froze, a block of fuzzy ice in my gut.
“What?”
“2008, the band Seeds of Shades appeared on the Neo-goth/emo scene, but vanished in 2011.  What happened?”  She didn’t look angry, I couldn’t figure out her motive and started to panic.
“A lot of things happened, but Penelope, Penelope, please don’t tell Spencer.  When he finds out I have to tell him.”
She shook her head, “I don’t, I don’t understand.  Why...?”  Penelope’s phone began to ring and she excused herself.
I could hear snippets of her conversation, “Your wish is my command, handsome... What?  I thought it went cold... I’ll be there.”  Oh no.
In that moment, my phone began to ring *the only thing I ever thought was hard... Do I like Kirk or do I like Picard*
“Spencer?” I answered.
“Diana, we have another body.  The unsub was in your apartment.”

Digimon tri: Loss rant aka butthurt
So there are things that bothers me a lot about these Digimon tri movies and this movie, well lets just say its teh drop that tipped the glass. I dont really like rewieving things..but i am very passionate for digimon, so i suppose this will do.
So what is there to say about Digimon tri? or spesifically... loss? hehe loss..more like loss of my intrest in these movies..
Tumblr media
TLDR; the movie is long, boring, little action, meiko is shit as always, the conflict with sora, tai and matt doesnt exist, some scenes go nowhere and are more filler then plot, still questions left unanswered, 02 kids are dead and gone and nobody cares at this point, and shitty, limited, boring, bland and dissapoiunting animation.
Anyhow where do i even start? first i suppose i should start off by saying the things i DO like about this movie. I did enjoy seeing tai more in the spotlight, and it was nice seeing tai, matt and sora talk again. And not to mention, digivolutions! Where most of the digis became ultimate! hell yeah! and my boi machinedramon, i always loved that fella. And more digi kaiser?? YES PLS FUEL MY NEEDS FOR FOOTAGE!! and of course, the animation was well done with the fight scenes and the action was really neat! My favorite part of the movie was the last part.
and now, onto the... MANY many problems these movies had, with none other then shitty animation, awkward scenes, bad art styles, scenes that go nowhere, meiko, and FILLER!! clench your asshole because this is going to be a long one...
Ok so we start off the movie strong. This flashback goes well with me because its this old timey wimey film effect, and we get to see the backstory of himekawa and black hair teacher typography mcgee, i forgot his name..anyway thats cool, we get plot! and then cuts to meiko being left out with her dark evil special digital device. GOOD. she has no way to enter now. she should be left out like the shitty written character she is. im glad shes out.. but would i be like this for long?? NOPE, NOT HERE IN DISSAPOINTMENT LAND I WONT!!
So then we get tehse cute bonding scenes, which are just very nice. its good they take their time with these, and boy....do they take their time :))))) the shitty happy music desu comes so abruplty that you just sit back and say “nice here it is.” so the rest of the digimon get along just fine with the kids again, which is nice i guess....except for pyokomon or whatever. For some reason she is the ONLY CONVENIENT one that wont like her. now, im fine with this, because things never happen the same way twice. however, she is THE ONLY ONE, and the others open very fast, so why?? eh whatever wont bother explaining too much about that ;))
so after this kawaii desuka moment, after toei “””””””””””””””animation”””””””””””””””” show us a slideshow of their best drawings of the kids just sitting there, with no movement, we get on with it.
There is one thing i learned in animation class, and that is that YOU NEVER HAVE ONE STILL FRAME in animation, and these movies have a lot of them, and so fucking shittly placed as well. Just sometimes to save time, or just because lazyness, the animators just pan a akward still filler frame. i know things are hard, and horrible in NEY-HON, especially with animation, but for gods sake i cant help but go “animation is hard XDDdDdDD” whenever watching these movies....because sometimes....SOMETIMES.......
anyway so onto the story, “special super powerful” meikoomon appears, crying because she is adult and remembers meiko. why, you ask?? WHY??????? WELL who cares stfu. so she runs away and jumps into a distortion. did she make it? did the digital world provide her with some? will we get answers??
Tumblr media
so then, PTaiSD starts doubhting if we can save the special boy cat, and Yamaha has to of course get angry about every single little thing tai does, and walks off in a huff. Was this scene forced like all hell?? is yamiffedo being a bitch for no reason?? Yes. yes he was. at this point, it feels like they just put this here to give matt a reason to be angry because they have nothing left to bitch about to eachother, or yashitto just wont let up. either way, it is so frustrating..but i digress.
we also cut to black haired crocks wearing mcgee again, in and out, of him saying “i cant figure this out” and we get told this 2 times. ... ANYYYWAYYYY then the kids remember their personalities again and tai suggests we do something now, and the digimon digivolved. HURRAH!”
byomon is still not trusting sora, which is fine i guess bonds take time, and they did take their time, which was fine. so they keep cutting to this trolly, the one they slept in in digimon adventure. HEY GUYS, REMEMBER THE TROLLY???? REMEMBER DIGIMON 01?? WASNT THAT SERIES COOL???
special OP baby cat meikomon just sits and laments because she cant find meiko, so she gets all infected and fucks up everything again, making the reboot for NUFFIN if she keeps this up. BUTT WAIT, why does she still have this infection?????? OH NO SHE TURNED EVIL AGAIN!!!! but does the movie explain??
Tumblr media
so here we are with the blank kids club as izzy expositions the shit out of the other kids, which is nice. its nice to get plot... BUT ITS NOT THE PLOT WE ACTUALLY NEED, just...just a little bit of it. just a little bit.......... anyway everyone cuberbullies meiko and basically says that she is a shit and wont fit in here because all she would do is cry or fuck up something beyond repair. that is what she would do.
so then sora walks off and sits by a trunk and is sad because her tamagotchi doesnt like her anymore. BUT.......and this is a big but...Taishit and Yaman come to the rescue. BUT...they are both stupidly blank and doesnt know waht the fuck to do or say, but they try. how will they tackle this point??
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So basically sora is suprised to figure out that tai and matt cant read her mind, and just runs off and is understandably angry about the situation. so as tai and matt is visibly upset they cant fix this, which you couldnt tell because their expressions are about as vibrant as a piece of wood, Taichi basically says something good for once. Sora spends her times worrying about other people and doesnt say anything about her own worries. which is....good??????
im sorry but to me thats not good at all. if you fix everyone elses problem, and you shut your own problems inside, you are going to suffer. THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING HOLY FUCK WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE IS THAT??!?!?!?!? unless i am completly misunderstanding this kind of behaviour but to me, this is not good. fuck that shit. so that scene ends. nothing gets resolved.  then finally, after fucking FOREVER with filler scenes and awkward crappy animation, machinedramon finally appears and is here to fucking kill this second hand emberassment. they run from him, and the others see whats going on. so then they try to do something and fails, and then meikoomon isnt evil anymore...........????? and then something which i think is one of the biggest, STUPIDEST cop puts of all time happens.
macinedramon shoots them at point blank, and really hard and long too, like so long the camera makes sure to show ALL of their faces as they slowly burn to death by the giant super death cannon...and so they all get fucking obliterated and die... EXCEPT THEY DONT!!!!!!!!!! A DISTORTION PORTAL APPEARS AND JUST... TROWS THEM ACROSS THE ENTIRE ISLAND!!!! AND THE KIDS ARE ALSO UNHARMED!?”!?”?!?
Tumblr media
WHAT THE FUYCK IS THAT SHIT?!?!??! WHY DID THE DISTORITON APPEAR??? WHO MADE IT?? WAS IT MEIKOOMON??? EXPLAIN!!! EXPLAIN FOR FUCKS SAKE IM TOO AUTISTIC TO UNDERSTAND THIS DEEP LEVEL OF STORY TELLING!!!
oh and we get a cute flashback to actually knowing what himekawa wanted. she just wanter he digimon back.......which is why she acted this way all along? so she could get her stupid digimon back=??? thats why she had to act like she was secretly the one fucking everything up?? ....eh idk ANYWAY
byomon sees sora cry and decides wew lad....that changes everything.,..so that scene ends, and what does byomon find?????? WELL WOW ITS MEIKO WHO JUST FELL INTO THE DIGITAL WORLD JUST BECAUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
it was at this point i got really upset with this crappy movie. The scenes drag on for too long, scenes just end and go nowhere, and GOD DAMN IT IM SORRY FOR SAYING THIS BUT MEIKO IS A FUCKING MARY SUE. she is such a classic example of shittily written self insert characters that it fucking hurts. if i wanted to read your shitty digimon fanfiction from 2008 then i would of done that. Its fucking insane to see this level of writing from a professional writing team, holy fuck.
and then........this.......this takes the cake.... fucking tai and kari are together. finally, they get to talk a little about things, like for example bringing up whats bothering tai all this time, or why he has to be such a tittybaby with yamato, or maybe have a little chat about character development. but no we dont get none of that. shitty sad music plays and....no tai just says “oh man im so angry i didnt make it” and kari says “its ok” and then tai just looks down.... AND THEN THATS IT!!! ....OK??
so then a whole lot of fucking nothing happens for a while, and i mean, they just.....dont say ANYTHING worthwhile. tai goes all “man i wish tai would read my mind and not be an asshole. my name IS MATT AND I JUST CANT TALK TO MY FRIENDS SO I WALK AROUND LIKE AN ANGRY PISSY BABY BECAUSE THATS MY TRAIT, WHICH IS NOT FRUSTRATING AND TIRED AT ALL”
and byomon being a little warmer, going to meiko just because shes a cunt at this point, like now shes just being a dick, and generally everyone just walking around having a grand ol time. i guess its nice, and cool and all...but it drags ON FOR TOO LONG WE DONT NEED THIS LEVEL OF CALM WHEN YOU HAD ONE ACTION SCENE TROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MOVIE!!!!! and just generally....just stuff that goes NOWHERE!! like that train scene???? literally filler. was it a trowback to 02 where agumon came back on the train after being with the dark master?? i dont know!! fuck!!
then expositionmon comes, and its vague, and leaves. and then whatever anyway
meikomon cries and when she gets back to meiko again she tries to slit her troat, and meiko supringly tells her that she isnt good.....wow..thats nice. but they reuine and FINALLY gennai arrives again. in his kaiser disguise. why does he have that avatar to go back and forth troughout the world? why did he chose to use kaiser?? my guess is just to be a dick to the others, because thats the only good explanation at this point.
and sora does say “oh hi ken please dont” but thats it. im sorry but at this point, the 02 kids are oficcially dead and gone. there is no logical explanation to why they act like this anymore. none that are actually good. forget about them, the others have. just....forget about it.
so distortions appear again and everyone reunites again, because hell we needed SOME explanation to them meeting again. so action happens, and everything is nice and fine and then gennai just
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hes so insane im kind of liking it..... ANYWAY stuff happens and so they run away while gennai talks to them about some answers to our questions, which they might not hear because of the BIG HEAVY  STOMPS AND ROARS from the digimons but whatever... yuggrasil i dont remember who is and at this point i just wanted the movie to be over, so this last part, there isnt much to say because i liked it.
however sora getting BTFO by a giant mountain and machinedramons claw should have killed her, but nah whatever. and the scene with tai and matt drowning??? i jsut... dont understand it. what the fuck happened??? why did they just not drown anymore?? what?????? did the power of magic save them or somethin? I DONT GET IT!! and i mean...they should have drowned at that point jfc
then half the movie is the digimon digivolving and now im so god damn sick of writing, but meikomon fucks everything up again and NOW IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER!! REEEEEEEEEEEEE
SOOOO yeah thats it...the movie was slow, boring, fun, and overall awkwards. the kids had ALMOST no personality, and the scenes that the movie advertized, like the conflict with sora, tai and matt was nonexistant, and just....i myself, and a lot of people, are fucking dissapointed.
if you read this far, thank you. but i have no big hypes for the rest of the movies anymore because the shitty animation, no facial expressions, crappy storytelling, boring character interactions, and MEIKO makes me hate these movies more and more...........and that makes me sad.

May I borrow your creative works?

I want to turn your attention away from Covid and away from the riots for a moment to get back on track.
Like the posts containing “Covid-19”, “Corona”, “Rona”, and other names I have been calling it, I could be talking about racism until I am blue in the face, stand up and sing soprano all day long.  It is an uncomfortable subject to talk about, but there should be active as well.  I do not have all the answers, but one of the actions should be an understanding of another person’s race, gender, and culture.  Even to this day I never could understand the problems that others have with African Americans and women or even American Indians.  All three I identify with, although I do not know what tribe my grandfather’s mother comes from. All people want to do is to live the life given to them. It is the ones who cause the problems in the very beginning (slavery for Africans and restrictions for First Nations and women) are the ones who fail to understand that we are all humans and we all have needed to thrive within this country.  I am done with this conversation, for now, let’s move on.
Different types of creative works.   Photos by Pixabay.com
I am actually a pretty good soprano, reaching a C6 when I was a teen, for those of you who are musicians, for the rest of you, it is called a Mezzo-Soprano.  These days, I am just a soprano, or second soprano, inching closer and closer to a first alto.  Oh, I do not mind, as long as I have some ability to still sing soprano.  It is what I am comfortable at.  I blame allergies for this problem, as well as when you age, you lose some elasticity in your vocal cords.
In addition to being a content creator, a freelance writer and graphic designer, and singer, I am also a musician (almost classical trained), a dancer (ballet, jazz and contemporary, tap, and liturgical), and I know a little bit about computer coding.  All of these “hats” allow me to be creative and put my stamp on a piece of music, recording sessions, writings, choreographed works, and websites, if I put my mind to it. This brings me to a question that was asked on Quora.com, This person wanted to know if it was “okay” to use someone’s created media in their product for a video that he was making on YouTube.   He did not say YouTube per se, but I assumed that he was hinting towards YouTube or even Vimeo. He also wanted to know if that person can sue him. My answer to that was this:
“Yes, you can be sued. They might be nice and send you a cease and desist letter, asking you to remove the music. you really needed to ask permission from the creator if using the music is okay or not.
I want to leave you with two examples. The first one is I am also a creator of music. I am not perfect at it, and I have not published any of it online. If I had published my latest, which is called, Corners of my Mind, and someone did not ask for permission to use the music, I would write a cease and desist letter because I feel that I could go further with this piece of music before it was perfect in my eyes. I have several reasons for not being satisfied with this piece of music. one of them is the keyboard I originally recorded it on is limited in the potential that this piece of music deserves. Most of the time, people share to let others know of their process and to find out that someone who is too lazy to create their own music is using a taking credit for that piece is disheartening to me. It takes time to create a piece of music. Yes, computers make the job easier, but the work is still there, as thoughts of music are coming from the head of composers into something tangible for the world to enjoy, not the for the vlogger to take credit for their own personal gain.
Likewise, when I first started blogging, I used someone’s photo, and I forgot to give that person credit. A couple of years later, another blogger asked for my permission to use the photo. I could have said yes, but instead, I explained the situation, then I quickly changed the photo to prevent others from asking to use it.
I am not saying that you are lazy, but you must give credit and/or ask for permission before using the creative works of others.”
Explanation of the answer.
We would all like to be talented in the art of creating that perfect piece of music, a piece of art that will drive millions to see it, or even a t-shirt that speaks volumes, but not everyone can do it.  Some people are not interested in learning how, and there are some people who feel like they do not have a creative bone in their body.  Some are too shy to do it.  It does not mean that you are lazy, and I do not see the problem of a person sharing their works.  The problem lies when a person who worked hard on a piece is not given the credit they deserve when someone takes a copy and puts it on their project.
We have all done it, even me, and I got caught.  Not by the original photographer themselves, but by another person, who wanted to share it on their website or blog.  I felt embarrassed by the gesture.  I wanted to say yes, because I placed the perfect font on top of the photo, centered it just right, and it was gold to me.  When I saw it, it was the perfect photo, and I could have placed any of my photos under the font layer, which I should have.  As soon as I replied to the blogger, I quickly went to my blog and replaced it with one of my photos.   To be honest, I did not remember that I had done it.
I also explained to the questioner on Quora that I am always nick picking about my latest piece of music called, “Corners of my Mind”.  I am always changing the speed of the music, the rhythm of the drum kit, and the instruments that would accompaniment the drum kit.  Most of it is slight deviations of the original song.  For the moment, on my Casio CTK 631 (made in 1998), I have a Rave for the drum kit (oh so 1990s), the tempo is between 78 and 84 BPM, and I created a piano 1, an organ 2 (which is as close to a Hammond B25 AKA church organ as I can get it), and a soft wave (I think, I am not looking at my keyboard at the moment).  I have had the song in a Trance rhythm, 105 BPM, a Piano 3 (created), saw synth, saw wave, you name it for instruments.  I have even changed notes and transposed it a couple of times.  I am due for a new keyboard, and my goal is a Yamaha Modx7, which is the latest Yamaha, with all the bells and whistles to make further changes to this song and to create plenty more with that came from.  I have played on the Yamaha Montage, which is a bit pricey for me. Apparently, Yamaha thought so too, so they created the Modx6,7, and 8 with the Montage powerhouse inside at a lower price point. And you thought all that I know about was social media, content, freelance writing, Disney, organization, decorating, and graphic design.  Give me a musical keyboard, a tutu, and some tap shoes, and you have seen nothing yet, LOL.  This was the reason I talked about Abby Lee Miller so bad back in 2012 if you have been reading this blog that long. (to this date, it has received over 2200 views)
OK, I got off track, time to pull it all together.
The point I am trying to make is If it takes that much thought into my little song, can you imagine how much I can mix it at a recording studio with all the bells and whistles that a recording studio can give.  It gives me chills when I know how much a recording engineer can do to a basic song to make it a hit.  It is things like these that make a composer tell a video maker to get their own music if all that person is going to do is make it into theme music for their little video.   I do not mind sharing my music, but since I spent all this time composing and having someone mix it for me, I better get the credit and it better get lots of air time.   This is the thought that goes through people’s minds like Beyoncé and Katy Perry and companies like Disney, as that thought turns into music like “Single Ladies”, “Roar”, and “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2.
That is the reason I gave this person the answer he or she asked.
I am talking about:
·         Photos
·         Graphic designs
·         Poetry works
·         Novels and e-books
·         Computer programs
·         Prototypes of products
And the list goes on and on.
“So, Patricia, I get it.  How do I solve the problem?”
First of all, do not beat yourself up for it.  Everyone makes mistakes, and with mistakes, there is a solution.  To prevent you from getting caught either by the creator of the media you want to use or by someone who thinks that you are the creator of the piece of media that they want to use going forward:
·         Ask Permission.  When you see a piece of media that you want to use, contact the creator of that piece.  As a writer, I put down my contact information on every piece of a blog post when I write for someone.  I used to do that with my own blogs, but Google got picky.
If you are a writer, you can do that too.  write a quick footnote like this:  Patricia is the writer and owner of My Ambiance Life, Home Prep, and P. Lynne Designs blog and website.  If you have any questions and/or want to reuse any of the material written in this post, please contact her at [email protected]. It is simple and to the point.  You do not have to write how you are the president of the Yacht club, you are the parents of 15 wonderful children, or that you own a plot of land in Shri Lanka. All of that information should be in your bio (or should it?).
·         Give Proper Credit:  When you contact the creator and they say it is okay to use that item, they will often times mention how they want to be credited.  I simply want to be credit as Patricia Logan-P. Lynne Designs or Patricia Logan-P. Lynne Designs’ The Writing Cove if it is a written piece.  If you are in the US, you should know the proper way to footnote something. Logan, Patricia, “May I borrow your creative works”, My Ambiance Life Blog.  The good news is a long time ago, you had to write the whole citation.  Now you can write a shorter version of it. The author, the name of the post sited, and the site.
·         When the creator says no or when you cannot contact them:  It is not you.  remember the example I gave the person on Quora.  The piece may not be shared because it is not ready.  It is in process or this maybe this person’s private piece.  You may wonder why share it in the first place?  There are many reasons why they have shared their works.
·         Use royalty-free products.  For photos, I use Pixabay.  For music, I use Epidemic Sounds.  I do have a photographer friend who can help me with authentic photos and videos around town or I take them myself.  He is not free, and I would not have it any other way because he has a family to feed.
I want to stop right here with the last statement, a family to feed. The reason why most people do what they do is because of the passion, the dedication to the craft, and they have bills and a family to feed.  What a person does 9 times out of 10 will not amount to that of a millionaire unless the money they make either with their craft and skills, a 9-5 job, or both is to invest in something.  If half the things I have not learned how to do as a child or a young adult did not earn me a seat at the table to buy at least a tube of toothpaste, I found other ways of getting it.  That is what I call, earning multiple streams of income.  You cannot just sit and do nothing.
That statement I just mention is the statement that helps me sleep at night.  To know that if things are done properly, we would all win.  Asking the author for permission to use his/her materials and finding other ways to help yours when they say “no”, will allow you to make your passion and your job much, much easier, but hackers and scammers just. Do. Not. Get. It.  I hope you do.
I am done.  Be well. Stay safe.  I will talk to you later.  God bless you.

Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder, treason and plot! …so I actually thought that Guy Fawkes day was a celebration of the people’s defiance toward King James the 1st…but as it turns out, it’s a celebration of the survival of King James the as a result of Guy Fawkes being caught guarding explosives that were due to be set off beneath the House of Lords. But it’s interesting that I thought it was a celebration of defiance, because that’s what I saw the famous Guy Fawkes mask being used for, in the media…always when “the people” have some beef to settle with whatever power above. 10 Inexpensive Exterior Fixes To Aid Market Your Property.
Coming from southerly The golden state, BMX racing has actually increased to a worldwide circuit. Yamaha filth motorbikes are actually excellent for off-road competitions like as an example Motocross. You operate on dust instead of the street (at least, many of the amount of time), you breath in fresh air and you can take a look around you and also see exciting factors!
Road performers Barbiturikills as well as generated this mural in Valencia, Spain, shortly after Trump's governmental vote-casting success. Walking down Morton Street on a Friday evening was actually a fully conflicting expertise coming from each time that I have actually strolled down the street. The 4 within this case uncovers that this king was actually only counting on his own all-natural physical toughness and ability that seemed to become productive when facing various other bodily all-natural aim ats yet he was actually no suit for the God of the Hebrews that delivered the kids from Israel coming from the threat and damage that Sennacherib had plotted and they failed to must carry out a thing. That does certainly not cost any kind of much less to produce a little bike in comparison to that carries out to produce a huge one, however the smaller bike is anticipated to sell for less, consequently in order to be profitable the much smaller bike must sell in bigger varieties, so the question is: in 2009 what is the dimension of the market place for small road-going motorbikes in North America? As reflected on Wal-Mart's cash flow statement for the year ending January 31, 2017, our experts keep in mind the 27% boost in three-year common development in free capital from procedures: 16.4 billion in financial 2015 to $20.9 billion in economic 2017. Pair of days later Schepp introduced his purpose to devote $2.5 million to create a foundation for The big apple children in between 13 as well as 16 years of ages that will deliver all of them "along with ways to ready themselves for beneficial occupations." The children would certainly be required to "guarantee on their own to dispense with peccadillos, to obey the regulations of the State and also nation, and also to be considerate in their procedure from others." If, after 2 years, they kept the pledge, they will get $200 to be used to either begin an organisation or even complete their education and learnings. As market value financiers, our company likewise make note that in the 4th quarter of 2016, the company bought ~ 5.5 numerous IBM typical reveals via open market or private purchases at a typical rate per share of $159.50. These bundled purchases equated to perfectbody2018.Info a roughly 8% premium to the exchanging series of the share since this writing. When the phone lines levelled up for Q&A, 2 professionals (Mark Argento, Lake Street Financing Markets, and also Ross Licero, Craig Hallum Capital Markets) were permitted to inquire inquiries (find SA incomes telephone call transcript ); nonetheless, I was actually certainly not. Got this. If I can slip another in there, I merely would like to view if there certainly, perform you view every other possibility as you look around your very own companies today where you go to perhaps the cross roadways of reduced profitability on something that you run today, but an obvious driver on the market like G3 on the ladies's organisation edge that could possibly be actually yet another licensing chance for you, as you check out 2017. Some of the year's most compelling initiatives," Street Stories" assigneded U.K.-based musicians along with saying to the true stories from homeless British teenagers.
