Or actually just a proud, protective father and his cute, open-hearted son :) Not much here to say except that I got to try a new technique for shading and am quite happy about the results.

Oh, and I'm trying out a hc with the "light of Valinor" that so prominently is said to dwell in all Valinor-born elves (first had Tyelpe without it so I could better showcase the difference, but then I looked it up and he was not born later in Beleriand so eh). Elves born in the West get light pupils from me, a reflection of the trees and an inflection, actually. In daytime, the light in their eyes would be silver and golden at night, reminiscent of Telperion and Laurelin. Maybe they had somehow absorbed the tree light as they grew up. After the Noldor's flight, perhaps that even granted them some semblance of familiarity to what was lost and some comfort at gazing into their loved ones' eyes.

Of course, without the trees and the Valar's blessings, that kind of light lingered in the ones that had come from Valinor, but their children, born in Middle-Earth, would not inherit it and so even that small reminder of the Era of Trees was slowly forgotten. Few Eldar possess these tree-lit eyes anymore, but imagine the shock of the first new parents in Beleriand to see their children's dark pupils and maybe believe the Valar had not only forsaken them (which most had made their peace with) but their innocent descendants as well.

When I looked up Jack of All Trades and saw the reviews saying that Jack feels like a time displayed Ash Williams, I was skeptical. But you know what? I am six episodes into this frankly ridiculous show and am left completely convinced that this is in fact a time displaced Ash Williams going under an alias.

The biggest issue with this take is that Jack has both hands.

But this isn't really an issue.

Why not? Well...

Wait, no, not that.

I swear there's logic here, just stick with me.

Okay, so in another timeline, Ash drinks one too many drops of sleeping potion at the end of Army of Darkness and oversleeps by a century.

He wakes up in an apocalyptic world with advanced technology capable of giving him a much more realistic prosthetic than either the gauntlet or the power glove. Does... whatever it is he needs to do there, gets ahold of the Necronomicon, and attempts to use it to send himself back to his own time.

Except, Ash being Ash, he fucks up the words.

Next thing he knows he's in the late 1700s, let's say 1783/1784.

He somehow blunders his way into history and becoming a government agent under a false name, and deciding to just stay there and make a life for himself because he has once again lost the Necronomicon.

Now Jack does claim to have taken part in things that happened pre-1783 but Jack also lies out his ass, so does that really mean anything? Not to mention that any history talked about in Jack of All Trades must be take with a mountain of salt.

And I'll add onto this that Jack does get cut across the right wrist where the prosthetic would be.

But it looks like the blade barely touches him and there is no blood shown. He does wrap it but that could be him covering it up before Emilia sees it or something because it does seem like he had it mostly wrapped by the time she came into the lab, or at least bothered to give him and his injury any attention.

I would also compare to the scene where he's been shot. Mainly that there's visible blood in that scene and on his shirt in later scenes, unlike the scenes after he's cut, and he seemed overly surprised at being injured and even comments on how shocked he was the have actually been shot.

Again, I'm only 6 episodes into this show so my opinion (headcanoning) may change, but this is where it's at now.

I think Thancred likes to say he prefers his partners small and cute compared to him, but then he sees someone who could destroy him and tries to claim it's a one off despite it happening far to often

(sorry for the late reply anon i have brainworms orz) yea i also think it would definitely catch him off guard to properly fall in love with someone twice his fuckin size... i feel like hes probably had at least some experience with roe women in the past (i mean look at how he thirsts over moenbryda in post ARR lol) but i also feel like he'd be particularly weak to, like, gap moe? like, big huge strong characters who have a hidden cute side or are soft for one specific thing or can also be really pretty and whatnot. i think that'd catch him WAY off guard and he'd fall really fast :)

Okay [cracks knuckles] I can try that! I may wind up going back to a few more than others but it just tells you which ones I do the most thinking on. Also by and large this is specific to the 2020 miniseries but will figure in wider canon sometimes.

☾ - Larry Underwood's dreams and visions, even those alluding to Mother Abagail, are as disturbing as they are at the start of the series because he's still taking coke. Hence why his vision of her calling him to come and see her is intermixed with that of his dying mother.

★ - Joe/Leo Rockway still has dreams about both Larry and Mommy Nadine as he grows up.

☆ - Kojak the dog fathers puppies and lives a good, long dog life.

☠ - Lloyd Henreid's gold tooth that appears after arriving in Vegas, is not purely cosmetic. One of the first people who wound up on the telephone poles didn't understand the pecking order yet and thought he was an easy target to take a swing at, and while Lloyd scrapped back, Flagg finished the matter by establishing that he picks his soldiers and they are off limits.

✿ - Flagg is very accustomed to his partners passing out before the end and tends to hit such a devastatingly huge dip in adrenaline afterward that he could probably benefit from aftercare, which never happens because his partners are out. When your mind is open to the eldritch horrors and arriving leaves everything exposed and unguarded, you don't experience post-nut clarity so much as post-nut disparity. This is not a big enough deterrent to warn him off from the practice itself, but then it is very canon that he finds this kind of exposure necessary, even if unpleasant. Wizards, amirite?

■ - Glen Bateman tends to live in clutter. Where he puts something down is just where it lives which means his home dwelling can contain a lot of organized piles of stuff -- it looks like a mess and on occasion he will be very "shit I need to clean I'm out of surfaces" but he knows where everything is.

♡ - Lloyd Henreid is in love with Randall Flagg and doesn't really expect anything from it -- he isn't afraid of him as Julie thinks he is. What he's afraid of is the notion that Flagg only tolerates him. This leads to him trying too hard to be accommodating, on occasion.

♥ - Fran ignores or rebuffs Harold's romantic advances because even if her feelings go beyond "kid I used to babysit that I thought was annoying when I was a teenager" it is not romantic in origin -- she also projected a lot of her little brother onto him, who died when he was little. So him making it after Trips was bittersweetly important because he has always been the younger sibling that made it. Even if it is something she distanced herself from because childhood trauma is hard to deal with as a kid and a teenager, and her friendship with his sister made it a quietly kept secret. She recognizes that's unfair and not something he asked for, but she didn't ask to be the object of his unrequited affections either.

☮ - On the way to Boulder, Glen went fishing a few times with Stu, which seemed to relax him. They would usually catch things and Glen would joke, if they did not, that his loud speechifying scared the fish away.

♦ - Stu cannot play any instruments and his singing is for the shower and the radio only.

☯ - Harold loves PayDays (canon) but absolutely hates fruity candies. After trick or treating he and his sister would barter for their favorites and his willingness to let go of higher-value candy like chewing gum for chocolate meant it was a largely pleasant experience where neither sibling had much reason to steal from each other's stashes.

▼ - Fran hates swimming and can only do it because her parents made her take lessons when she was a kid.

∇ - Assuming my New Game+ theory re: the 2020 miniseries and Flagg holds water, Mother Abagail is also just as aware that events have transpired before and is less ruffled by Flagg because she's literally had these conversations with him multiple times.

♒ - Flagg has a sweet tooth (book/TDT canon) -- with a fully stocked kitchen and permission to fuck around and find out, Lloyd discovered this when he made deep fried oreos and then almost didn't get to have any.

☼ - Lloyd Henreid's XIX tattoo is an easter egg but he got it because it was his first tattoo, on his 19th birthday, and he couldn't think of anything else cool to get.

ൠ - Randall Flagg has no pop culture memories from after 1994. His car has a tape deck because it doesn't occur to him that cars wouldn't have one. He keys into new music pretty quick but all his favorites and the ones that get stuck in his head are from well before that and come from a variety of places.

essentially Calypso in the au is 'rebirthed' (I have a whole headcanony thing on rebirth for an ascian but ghj) basically, Calypso is reborn yet without their memories, other than the strings and summons and dreams of their death. Most of the time their spent staring off into space or sent on missions to 'control' others as now their strings are used as a major piece to the whole ultimatum for zodiark. their gloomy because the others don't let them wander off on their own after they got lost those multiple times and got into public in their attire :(

Violets are rumored to have a limit just short of immortality, but no one knows what it is.

Purples can live for thousands upon thousands of sweeps, if they're smart about it.

Blues (colbalts, indigos) have a much more noticeable limit, a mere few thousand.

Teals, if they're really, really lucky, might reach a thousand sweeps.

Greens (olives, jades, limes) mark another startling, noticable drop in age. They'd be considered ancient at three hundred sweeps.

Goldbloods... no one really knows. Might make it to one or two hundred sweeps, but they never live that long.

Bronze and rusts age at about the same rate as humans, so eighty to ninety sweeps and their bodies give out.

Mutants are wild cards.

I love the “Mumbo’s some kind of supernatural creature” headcanons, and I love the “Mumbo’s just a guy” headcanons, but may I propose: “everyone thinks Mumbo is some sort of creature thing but he’s actually just a bit strange”

“His eyes are so red they basically glow!” My guy inhales enough redstone to power a small machine on the daily.

“He’s nocturnal! He’s always up at night!” Insomnia.

“It’s like he teleports! He just appears behind people” he’s just naturally very quiet and people don’t hear him walking up.

“He knows so many random facts, there has to have been around for ages to learn all that” he’s just a nerd.

Mumbo gets nervous anytime someone tries to interrogate him, making the hermits even more suspicious, but in actuality he’s just worried they’ll be disappointed and he’s starting to realise they probably won’t believe him no matter what answer he gives.

There’s a server-wide bet going for who can figure out what he actually is. Grian, who’s known him for years and knows full well that’s he’s 100% mortal and human, shows up and starts egging the hermits on by “dropping hints” as to what he may be, much to Mumbo’s dismay. Grian thinks the bet is utterly hilarious.
