to me a lot of people in this fandom only knows how to Take Then Ask For More, ive never felt more like a drawing appliance

when i post art, the vibe is always “yeah ok your soap is cute but can i get price? yeah ok that price is cute but can you draw gaz? that gaz is ok but i need farah!!”

and when i write the Wheres Part Two And Can I Get Tagged crowd comes in, like yes numbers are nice and its wild when stuff hits >1k notes but man that shit feels mad hollow when a shitton the comments are just asking for new things immediately

on top of that, u can make 'side blogs' like u can here and when u click on them, they're their own Thing. i assume u can post as them, like the feature we longed awaited for years here and JUST got and they have their own separate 'bookmarked tags' list so if u wanted separate things to look at for each blog, u can have that.

it works a bit different than here, if anyone's been using bksy, it's more like following feeds lists to see what those feeds are set up to be pinged on. What gets me down is that even when I find the rare non-racist Miguel fanart that treats him like an actual character and gets his personality and pathos right, rather than reducing him to a Spicy Latin Lover sex toy or sex pest (or alternatively a funny joke character Latino babysitter for white children, which I've also seen a lot), I'll make the mistake of looking at the notes and see that a not insignificant number of reblog tags are people once again reducing him to a Spicy Latin Lover and acting like it's racist horny art (in a positive way for these people) while ignoring what the artist was going for and adding racism to it - so it truly is impossible to avoid that racist shit, bc even if you engage seriously with the film on your own and try to avoid the racists, they will come to you instead.

yea its the main reason why i just stay away from fandom, people will manage to do this to the most innocuous things

What’s an idea you have that you have yet to draw? omg i have an entire list of ideas that just exist and may never come to life lol! they range from extreme fluff to absolute filth... my notes app: -kiss on the cheek/scrunchy face -mickey's head hanging off bed/mouth open/ian's hand wrapped around the nape of his neck -holding hands at the alibi alsdkfjlk

15. What are your drawing strengths? i would say adding details and tying the story i'm trying to convey together. and i like to think that i'm ok at giving them that tender and in love feel no matter the situation.

What are your drawing weaknesses? all of it? haha proportions and certain angles are really hard for me. hands and noses yikes! i am also terrible at drawing from memory. i usually draw with about 20 references pulled up on my laptop. like, i am the bozo googling "table". 17. What’s your favorite art piece you’ve drawn? it's gotta be the roadtrip one! but i also really really love this one:

What is one thing you’d like to tell people about your art that they might not know? i love adding/repeating little details that no one would really notice unless you're zooming all the way in or seeing a few pieces as a set. i built a color palette very early on that has stayed consistent throughout. i play a lot with blues and greens as a motif. and uh i'm still learning! everyday! with every single one!

19. What inspires or motivates you to create for fandom? i genuinely love doing it! i also love a prompt, that's why i started all of this with gallacrafts. and i just really love putting them in situations i want to see them in and drawing them stupidly in love!

but, i also hoard unhinged tags in my cheeks like a chipmunk lmao every series i've done was born from people screaming a version of "YOU'RE INSANE" at me 😂

20. And finally, can you describe your process a little? Do you have a favourite place to draw? Do you play something in the background? Do you do research or just go for it? Give us a little insight. i usually draw on the couch, hunched over like a shrimp. i’m normally up really late (i see 3am too often) and that’s when i get most of my work done. i typically watch something i've seen before so that i don't have to fully pay attention or i'll listen to music. i sketch a rough draft of what i want the final piece to end up looking like, then i do a shit ton of research and pull up a stupid amount of references. i have a really creepy pinterest board full of body parts lol! then i fight for my life and rage until the line work is fully done. after that, it’s smooth sailing with coloring and shading 😌

A (Not So) Misplaced Gift

This is a fill for today’s  @flashfictionfridayofficial  prompt [#FFF232 Among Any Option]  as well as my @buckybarnesbingo Magic  square.   Inspired by a Three Prompts → Summary game where we had the prompts Sickfic, Magic & Aromantic.  

Fandom: MCU/Marvel Rating: General Pairing:   Bucky Barnes & Steve Rogers Tags:   Magic,  Healing Powers,  Aromantic character Summary:  Bucky has no idea why he's been given the power to heal with a kiss,  considering he has absolutely no desire to kiss anyone.   But he knows better than to let this gift go to waste.  

“It doesn’t  make any goddamned sense,”  Bucky ranted, pacing around like a caged leopard.  “Why would that wizard pick me  of all people?  What kind of a gift is  ‘heal with a kiss’ anyways?  You know I don’t wanna kiss anyone!” 

“Yeah, Buck. I do.” Steve replied.   He remembered how hard it had been for his friend growing up, thinking that something in him was broken because he never had a crush on anyone, male or female.   When they finally learned the word ‘aromantic’, it was  both a relief and an epiphany.  

 “But,” Steve added slowly, as something had just occurred to him,   “maybe that’s the point.”

Bucky stopped in his tracks, brow wrinkling in confusion.  “Huh?  What do you mean by that?” 

Steve figured he might as well be honest.  “Well, if I’d been given that gift, I’d have a hard time kissing someone I wasn’t at least a little attracted to.” 

“Really?”  Bucky snorted in disbelief. “Even if you knew it was gonna help save their lives, or something?”   

“Well, yea, of course I would,  but it would, you know,  kinda bother me,” Steve explained,  “And according to what the wizard said, any sense of doubt defeats the spell.”

“Huh.” Bucky rubbed at his chin thoughtfully.   “I guess I hadn’t thought of it that way.   I still wish it woulda been something like a handshake, though.  It’s gonna feel a little strange planting a big wet one on you, or anyone else on the team  the next time you guys get in a scrap.”  

“To be fair, the wizard didn’t say it had to be a kiss on the lips,” Steve mused.  “Maybe just kissing wherever the person is hurt is enough.”    

“In that case,” Bucky huffed, “I hope to heaven none of you get shot in the ass.”

She went to go open the door, Flynn was on the other side.

“Hey! What are you doing here?” She asked.

“I was just wanting to maybe hang out here for a while!” Flynn replied.

“Sure, I’m not going anywhere anyway!” Cali said.

Flynn walked in to the main room, until he froze.

“What’s wrong?”

“You didn’t tell me you had a cat!” Flynn whispered as he looked down at the cat staring at him.

“Oh, Dexter’s fine once you get to know him, maybe put your hand in front of him and he’ll like it!”

Flynn kneeled down and put his hand in front of the tabby cat.

Dexter began purring into his hand, Flynn smiled.

“I think Dex here likes me!” Flynn said.

“Heh, you’re actually kinda cute!” He added as he began petting Dexter on the head.

“Flynn, were you wanting to ask me something?” Cali asked.

“Uhh, yeah, I was gonna ask if you wanted to maybe move in with me?” Flynn asked as he got up.

“Hmmm, yeah, I’d actually like that!” Cali replied.

“I mean, my house is only a few cities away, soooo, yeah!” Flynn said.

“Sounds good! I’ll maybe try seeing if i can move out here sometime soon! This place is kinda shitty when it comes to actually trying to move out!”

charmacden and chardee for the ask game! oh and deetress:)

Oooh!! lovely selection; Deetress is one of those ships that I don't NOT ship, but I wouldn't say I actively ship them. I think the don't ship questions will have more interesting answers, but yea I am totally not against the idea of the ship at all.

(Putting this under a cut cause it became quite long.)

What made me ship it?

Charmacden: I've always been a charmac shipper, since I started watching sunny in +/- 2014. Cause I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers and also a Charlie girlie and naturally wanted him included. I can always get into charden, cause while it's not often they do have very genuine moments in the show, but I never really liked the obsessive nature of macden. But then I had a little detour from the sunny fixation that included OFMD among other things, and in that fandom I was a big shipper of Steddyhands, or ed/stede/izzy. I love ed/izzy but adding the Stede to balance out the toxins was pretty perfect. Then I came back to sunny and said heck yea let's slap that dynamic on the guys badabing badaboom. Also it is canon.

Why don't I ship it?

Deetress: Hadn't really occurred to me at all until I started seeing it pop up in tags on ao3. If I'm gonna ship Dee with anyone, I'm more inclined towards Artemis I think. I just don't really see it? I love girls being mean to each other but I don't think there's any tension there. But I get being starved for f/f ships and how if explored more their dynamic could be super interesting.

Chardee: Mostly because of time's up for the gang and the shift that came with that. Before that it was similar to deetress, where I could get behind the ship, but don't actively ship them. I like their dynamic but overall got a little put off by how genuinely mean Charlie is to Dee most of the time (even if its peer pressure; doesn't really have the same vibes as the way the guys are mean to each other.

What are my favorite things about the ship?

Charmacden: It's the best of all of it. Like one part about macdennis and two parts about charden and most things about charmac? why not all of it at once? It has potential for them to be a little jealous and try to outdo each other, it has fluff potential. It could be one pair comes first and the other one joins in; or they've all been unknowingly dating for 10 years and it's time to make it official. It has so many angles to poke it from and that is what makes shipping in fandom fun imo.

What would have made me like it (more)?

Chardee: Me liking charmac less would have helped lol. I'm all for multi-shipping but I do pick favorites. Also if they never went into the times up direction of course.

Deetress: You know what, I think I'm starting to like it more! I was gonna say if they had more interactions in the show that aren't really just about the guys. So the bog in ireland is a very good start. I hope the waitress gets to be cut loose from Charlie plotlines more often.

Is there an unpopular opinion I have on the ship?

Charmacden: I prefer if it's not just sexual and if macden is not the pair that gets together first. Feel like that is a little unpopular based completely on the ao3 tag.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Chardee: That scene in season 1 where Dee is wearing Charlie's jacket is extremely cute. I love that when they team up they try to accomplish their dreams.

Deetress: I love women and honestly wish I liked this ship more. Maybe I will look into it some more, cause I do love a good bitch for bitch dynamic.
