I stopped watching Riverdale a long time ago. Soon after the penny really dropped. That my two favorite characters would never get together. And yes, I love Jeronica/Vughead, and nothing you say is going to make me think otherwise.
They have potential, or rather they had! But the series decided to spoil everything and further delay the story of the two.
Tumblr media
So I really hope they give something worthy to all those who wanted a lot more of Jughead and Veronica together.
And you can bet if they hand over Jeronica/Vughead I'll be watching Riverdale again.
Tumblr media
You don't know how I waited for this. It's harrowing to watch a series knowing that two characters together have so much potential and chemistry. Whatever that dynamic is, I really hope they don't turn into something pathetic and just for the moment. Both deserve better than that. If you can repeat the same old Barchie storyline, why not Jeronica/Vughead?
Tumblr media
Finally, after 8 seasons, they will hand us what should have been ours a long time ago. JERONICA. OR VUGHEAD. I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE!

Okay I wanna say sth so in the new episode …SPOILER:
So Betty actually wins the pageant according to the judges but Alice reads and crowns Ethel winner instead because she thinks the opportunities will help someone like Ethel. So I was thinking about the potential endgame ships in relation, now a lot of people aren’t understanding Beronica but I think in RAS’ mindset giving endgames for example to ships like Beronica and jarchie or Reggie and Archie would help queer representation in different ways than Choni and Kevin etc. As they’re the core 4 of the main characters - usually they would not be queer in any other show leading from friendship to romance. Usually in shows ships like these would never be endgame. Or even have a chance. But Beronica happening has changed this. I made a joking post before about how in most shows barchie would be endgame but in riverdale anything is possible. But I think there’s more meta to this after this pageant episode. Idk just musing..
Thinking this is inspired how Archie comics wouldn’t let him make Archie gay in his musical and how that influence the comics plot about censorship and then talking about the enemy is us not the red scare/communism etc the enemy is within wholesome, conforming America critique. Yes this is the milkman but it’s what riverdale is. It’s poking about this All American Archie mindset. It always has been. They’re pulling the curtain and telling you what riverdale is this season and that’s how it ties to the rest of the series. This then means they used the main ships to critique their tropes and what they mean. This concept of Alice giving Ethel the pageant win made me think how RAS might view th queer ships like jarchie or rarchie and Beronica. How normally they wouldn’t have a chance but then giving them a chance to be endgame is not something queer community is used to. For me it’s something different than the representation found in choni and the ships with Kevin. Which choni is amazing! Watch for them because they’re one of the best ships out there btw!! But Beronica and jarchie - these characters are the main icons of Archie comics and to end that classic love triangle in the queer way would be unique.

Hi there.
Your ship is dead. Bullying a grown man and hiding behind ‘bUT IM A TEENAGER” is bullshit. If you have ANY ounce of dignity, just stop fucking watching the show. You are going to drain yourself and drive yourself crazy over a fictional tv ship which you don’t DESERVE. Maybe I might have had sympathy for you in season 4. Before you bullied half of the cast and lili to tears (do you remember when she had to come out and say ‘it’s a fucking tv show’ only for you to STILL whine and cry and throw your bottles? Ted is right. You are the most disrespectful, selfish freaks of fandom I’ve ever come across and I hope to god you grow the fuck up and get TV comprehension skills. Because you have ZERO. Crying about the ratings which have been falling since season 3 is not going to bring back your CORPSE of a ship. Betty and Jughead don’t even like each other and you expect them to fuck? You will cry when the writers are “sexualising teenagers!!!” But when Betty and Jughead were having roleplay sex as 16 year olds it was fine?
You cried and begged and demanded bughead sex scenes and bABY JULIET when these kids were 15/16 years old and you call out the writers for being creepy now? NOW???? You call Archie disgusting and using Betty as a “baby maker” doll, housewife, but you have wanted that woman (or CHILD) fucking rat boy and having his kids since they were literally kids themselves? Do you see the hypocrisy or should I continue?
“How DARE the writers have Betty change everything about herself for Archie that is so GROSS AND MISOGYNISTIC.”
Yep. And Betty didn’t do a serpent dance at 15 to fit into Jughead’s world?? Now that is changing herself for a boy.
You’re hypocrites and are salty because your ship is dead, the actors despise each other, and you can’t make Sprousehart edits without the feeling that it may be wrong, because rat boy is an abuser. Barchie have never tried to erase bughead. Because it happened. It was cute, and it was a thing that happened. Betty loved him.
But the fact that you constantly delude yourselves with insane theories which are wrong every single time to erase barchie is hilarious. Seriously. “It’s an au!! “Archie’s light gives Betty headaches!” “We are going back to 5x17!” “Jughead shielded Betty” “the season 6 universe was erased!” That makes it clear you see barchie as developed, and real. And a THREAT which you can’t shop unless you erase it. You can’t hide behind “it’s forced! “It came out of nowhere!” Barchie was building from the first episode. If you cannot understand the point of two mains Archie and Betty, slowly getting feelings while being with other people; you are either stupid, or a child. This show was RULED by bughead and lili and Cole can service. The teen choice award you keep talking about? WAS VERY CLEARLY THERE TO HYPE UP THE ACTORS DATING. If you can’t get??? You’re an idiot or a child. If you can’t understand the point of a slow burn which was Betty and Archie being sidelined by a psychotic fandom who bullied the writers into four season of bughead fucking in a bunker and varchie arguing with hiram, you are an idiot. Sweetie. BABES. When the fifties are over and Archie and Betty have fallen in love AGAIN, and they return to a riverdale free of darkness, Toni and Cheryl are together, Veronica and Reggie— and Jughead and Tabitha, what are you going to do? Implode? Delete? Murder a crew member? I don’t know what you will do but holy shit it will be entertaining to see you fall. A fandom who spent 7 years terrorising barchies, cast members and writers, making fake sexual assault allegations for each cast member, being disgustingly racist to Vanessa and ash, and body shaming Lili. Bullying KJ until he very clearly went off of the edge in the pandemic, and for some reason also going after your GOD rat boy. I’m saying this to you and all of you. Yes, barchies and Choni’s have said some awful things, as well as varchies. But nothing can top the entitled brats you are. And I hope when Lilis contract os over, and she reveals Cole was an abuser, she tells you all to go and fuck yourselves.
.........
..........

wut????
This manifesto is so very confusing to me. Somehow, you've both been stalking my blog and been paying no attention at the same time.
I'll admit, I didn't read much of this, but a few things
This is now the second time today that someone on the internet accused me of being a teen. I'm flattered, don't get me wrong, but what is it about this? I am a grown ass adult. Is it something I am putting out there?
Oh please, please desperate BA anon, may I have your sympathy back??????
"Ted is right." Oof, anon. Very oof.
I would like you to go on, anon, please point out to me where anyone thought the Serpent Dance was a good decision? And where the seasons 1-4 sex parties and girls with one character trait were?
The BA stuff, I can't....I can't even....what?
What teen choice award do I keep talking about???? I am so confused????
The only thing in this.....jumble of words that offended me was you calling Cole "rat boy" (also did you imply that I love Cole? Have you....read my blog?) because I have rats and excuse you, they're amazing. Look at this leetle boy
Tumblr media
Apologize to him this instant!
Tumblr media
Look how upset you've made him!

Looking through my old screenshots I came across this old 2018 tweet of a Barchie fan
Tumblr media
Bare in mind, this is 2018. Around season 2, more or less.
Not to mention the COUNTLESS asks in the ask boxes of my fellow Bughead blogs here on Tumblr, such as @edgarsabandonedrocketship @stillhidden @i-know-you-can @middleagedresidentofriverdale @bugheadsfangirl and many others that promised us that "ratings and viewers will skyrocket with Barchie".
Mh.
So.
Let's look at the numbers, shall we?
These are the ratings and viewers during the Bughead/Varchie era:
Season 1
Tumblr media
Remember that the season was the first one, so nobody knew what the show was or what was the mood or anything. Keeping this in mind, it still did pretty good.
Season 2
Tumblr media
This season was objectively the best one, stable at 1 million viewers average, with minor downsides.
Season 3
Tumblr media
Objectively this season is the most irregular one, but still did pretty good considering the madness of it, keeping the show between 1 million and 800k viewers (with minor downsides, again).
Season 4
Tumblr media
Here too we can see that the decline was relatively normal, if not for two episodes: 4x12 which was a Katy Keen crossover episode (which, spoiler, nobody gave two shits) and the infamous 4x17 which lost 110k viewers in one week (plus the trama was leaked so everybody knew and didn't bother to watch). But everybody definitely hated the Barchie kiss (go check the reviews if you don't believe me. Plus it was another stupid musical so... draw your conclusions)
Season 5
Tumblr media
Now... I guess there's no need to describe what you're seeing here right? The show declined again, yes. But in the span of one season it lost 45% of it's viewers. Just look from season 4 première to season 5 première. And remember that 5x04 can be considered another "première", because it was first episode after the time jump, but again the show started hemorraging viewers. With barely more than 300k viewers watching the infamous finale.
Season 6
Tumblr media
And now. The famous season 6. The supernatural season. We're again seeing another huge decline. Another 45% decline in viewers. The second in the span of 2 years. That should tell you something. Not to mention that, this time, for the first time, the season finale is the less viewed episode. I wonder if the (already) trifling audience got spoilers beforehand. Mmmm 🤔
So... To summarize. Since Barchie happened, the views and the viewers dropped by 45% two times in two years and now the show that made roughly 1/2 million viewers now can't barely go over 200k anymore.
Thus I wonder... where's the horde of Barchie fans that was promised and who would have saved Riverdale? Where's the "increased ratings" that Barchie fans anticipated back in 2018. I can't see them. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The ship that was thought would have saved Riverdale actually sinked the show.
As my old friend Jughead would say

Riverdale: The Sweet Hereafter
"Riverdale" was a show I watched back in 2017. Everyone I knew was watching the show at that time. I started watching it during secondary school when, as I mentioned, everyone was into it. If someone wasn't watching, you would probably hear, "You must watch this iconic media piece." Okay, that's a bit far-fetched, but someone would recommend it if you were into shows like "The Vampire Diaries" or "Pretty Little Liars." Both of those shows had ended, and "Riverdale" stepped in to provide a sense of comfort—a dark show with a big mystery. That was the formula for almost every teen TV show. It filled a void for those of us who had just finished those shows and introduced us to iconic characters: Archie Andrews, the all-American teenager; Betty Cooper, the girl next door; Jughead Jones (skip); Veronica Lodge, the she-wolf of Wall Street and Cheryl Blossom, the red-haired diva.
With the show having 13 episodes and being released weekly on Netflix, it gained a cult following in my school. Coming into school, when the last few episodes aired, I heard phrases like "Bughead forever" or "Barchie forever." It was a debate, and I was Team Barchie, but that's a story for another time. Still, the show stood on its own, with people creating their own Riverdale fan accounts and collecting memorabilia. The show could do no harm...
However, it did; yes, I still enjoyed it. I remained invested. I watched the slow decline of the show in my school. It became so far-fetched that even the die-hard season one fan began to fade; no one was watching anymore, and the sense of community was gone. People no longer praised the show for its stylistic choices; instead, they questioned the writing itself. Remember that moment when Archie's retort to a character dropping out of high school for drug dealing was, "That means you haven't known the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football"? It was jarring, to say the least.
Riverdale became notorious for continually one-upping itself as if unpredictability was its sole mission. Who could have predicted discussions about tickling fetishes involving high school students? Payment aside, it was still an eyebrow-raising narrative choice. This was the show's identity – a whirlwind from steamy encounters to preppy murders, cults, and bombs. At the same time, characters managed to attend school and perform musicals such as Carrie, Heathers, Hedwig, and you won't believe this: The American Psycho the Musical… Oh yes, it exists, and pursue higher education.
The show recently ended with an unexpected detour into the 1950s – an era fraught with its own set of questions considering the show's approach to sensitive issues. How did it all unfold? The characters gained superpowers through an open door in an alternate universe, setting the stage for a dramatic series of events. As Season Five drew close, Cheryl stumbled upon the chilling account of her ancestor's demise and unwittingly triggered a spell. Meanwhile, Archie and Betty found themselves in a passionate tryst just as a bomb detonated underneath them. The convergence of these chaotic elements led to a counter spell, and I'll leave it to you to experience the madness firsthand. Go watch the show, please…
The show ended with everything I wished for; it's everything I wanted an ending. I knew there wouldn't be a big bad or something catching my eye for another season. The tale had reached its final chapter. As the curtain fell on Riverdale, I saw a farewell to beloved characters and the town itself, a nostalgic journey from past to present, and now the vacant town. It was something sweet; it was bite-sized. There will always be a question from others about why I hold this show near my heart. It's because it was there for every moment of my life. The show ran for six years! When I was in college, I was still watching the episodes. My uncle and I were big Archie Comics fans. If you didn't know, Riverdale is based loosely…very loosely to the Archie Comics, and my uncle would have given me a comic every time I visited, every birthday, and every Christmas. Riverdale wasn't his cup of his, but it was mine. I catch myself rephrasing dialogue while I rewatch the show.
Goodbye Riverdale

Heyyy girl, I have been thinking about the last chapter ever since it was uploaded and I am kinda confused, does tony tell jug that veronica was there when she heard or does she choose not to mention it at all? Also in the sequel will jug know about how betty treated veronica in the hospital? And will barchie still be talking to jug (I don't think they will be talking to veronica still) and will they know about the (hopefully inevitable) jeronica getting back together
So I had a whole scene written between Toni and Veronica that I ended up taking out because it felt like too much that I'll add beneath the cut, but basically Toni is caught between knowing something feels off about how Veronica left/the way the Ghoulies conveniently took credit for everything, and knowing Veronica has been a shitty person before and could very well have just left because she didn't care enough to stay. And I think her major goal is just getting Jughead to heal and move on, regardless of what happened. So she's definitely being guarded with what she's letting Jughead know - he knows Veronica came to the hospital the night it happened, but he doesn't know how badly she lost it, and she's also keeping the scene I've added below from him (if I decide to keep it as a headcanon lol) because she's torn over how real it was or wasn't.
Betty and Archie do end up forgiving Jughead, and sadly on Betty's half it's somewhat born out of feeling like Jughead was just another victim of Veronica like she was, which sucks. Archie probably would've forgiven him regardless. That said, their friendship is never quite the same and they definitely drift after senior year ends. I'm not actually sure if Jughead will know what Betty did at the hospital, but both Jughead and Veronica go back to Riverdale at one point for a book signing thing in the sequel and Archie and Betty are both there. Veronica and Betty will have a scene where that's confronted.
Here's the scene Toni/Veronica scene I ended up taking out, which would've come right after the hospital scene - let me know if it helps flesh Toni out a little more. I was just going for mystery! Leaving you guys as confused as Jughead 😂
-----------------------
The knock on the door came three days later.
Veronica glanced up from the box she was taping shut, squinting through the mess of hair that’d fallen loose from her bun. The movers weren’t supposed to be there for another few hours.
Besides, only a handful of people knew to use the back door, and of those handful, two hated her guts and one was in a coma.
Unless.
Her hands stilled.
“Yes?”
“It’s Toni,” came the muffled reply, and her shoulders loosened a little. “I tried the front door but it was locked and no one answered.”
She abandoned the tape dispenser and made her way over to the door, wincing at the blast of sun that hit her eyes as it opened.
“Hey,” Toni greeted with a cautious smile, stare flickering a little when it took in her appearance. Admittedly, a stringy bun and yoga pants wasn’t her typical aesthetic. “How are you?”
Veronica blinked at her.
She’d had rum for dinner three nights in a row.
Toni shook her head. “Stupid question—did you get my texts?”
“Oh,” Veronica said, pushing some of the hair out of her face, “I switched number a few days ago, so no, sorry.”
“Well, definitely give me the new one because there’s been a ton of upda…” she trailed off, frowning at something behind her.
Veronica followed her gaze to the boxes scattered in the foyer. She cleared her throat. “Sorry for the mess.”
“Are you moving in or something?” Toni asked, stare tracing over the sprawl of half-packed clothes and personal items.
“Moving out,” Veronica clarified, an upside to her tomber en disgrâce being that she couldn’t care less who knew she’d lived there anymore. “Been here since May, actually.”
Toni’s stare flicked back to hers. “What?”
“Yeah.” She turned away, plucking a discarded sweater off the floor. “Came with the whole disavowing my parents thing.”
Toni blinked. “I—” she shook her head briefly, “I mean, where are you going, then?”
“The city.”
She felt Toni’s eyes on her shoulders. “Like for good?”
She’d never thought about how strange that expression was before, ‘for good’. “I guess, yeah. The movers are going to be here in a few hours, though, so I should probably finish up packing.”
“When are you leaving?” Toni pressed, and Veronica’s jaw tightened a little.
“Tonight.”
Silence met her back.
She carefully folded the cashmere, ignoring the words hanging unsaid between them.
What about Jughead?
“He woke up, Veronica.”
Her hands froze around the sweater.
Her heart leapt into her throat, thunderous and pulsing.
“Sorry, I know I should’ve let with that, I just—” Toni lapsed into a laugh, hope flooding into her voice. “It was only for a second, but he nodded yes and no to some questions before drifting back out, so the doctors are feeling optimistic.”
Veronica stared hard at the fabric in her hands.
Her vision was hot and blurry.
“He woke up, girl!” Toni repeated, lapsing into another joyful laugh, and Veronica nodded stiffly, forcing her hands to resume folding.
“That’s great.”
She blinked rapidly to clear the tears from her eyes.
“It’s more than great, it’s incredible!” Toni laughed, though it petered a little when she noticed her enthusiasm wasn’t fully shared.
Veronica placed the sweater in a box and reached down for another one.
Started folding it into neat little squares.
“Are you,” Toni faltered a little, “I mean, you’re going to go see him, right?”
Veronica’s jaw flexed as she folded the sleeves across the chest.
She’d known this part was coming.
“I think it’s better if I don’t.” She reached over and dropped it into the box, topping it off. “I don’t want to give him the wrong impression.”
A stiff beat of silence followed. “And what impression is that?”
She drew in a steeling breath before turning around, pulling her face into a mask of indifference. “Jughead knew what we were, Toni. He knew I was going to New York. None of this is a surprise.”
Toni just stared at her, visibly thrown. “Think he probably assumed you’d wait for him to come out of a coma first.”
She forced a shrug. “That’s on him.”
She turned around and reached for the tape dispenser as Toni broke into a scoff. “Okay, what’s going on here, Veronica? Because I watched three security guards carry you out of the ICU while you were screaming your fucking lungs out to stay, so this whole ‘love ‘em and leave ‘em’ routine isn’t really landing.”
“It’s not a routine, Toni, it just is what it is.”
“Look, I may not have been able to make out the details of your screaming match with FP,” Toni pressed in a hard voice, “but I know something went down there—something you’re both not telling the rest of us.”
Veronica’s jaw tightened as she kept packing.
“And now three days later you’ve packed up your life and you’ve changed your number and no one can get a hold of you and it’s almost like—”
“Like what?” Veronica snapped a little, tensing under the line of questioning.
“Like you’re trying to disappear,” Toni steeled right back.
A stiff silence followed the accusation.
Veronica merely stared down at the box, fingers tight around the tape dispenser. Struggling to drum up the stomach for what she knew had to come next.
“What happened with FP, Veronica?”
She couldn’t leave loose ends. She couldn’t leave any thread of hope or misunderstanding that he could follow back to her, otherwise what was the point?
He’d follow you anywhere—New York, prison, his fucking grave—and you’d let him.
She loosened her jaw and shrugged on the skin of the absolute cunt she’d been in prep school.
“Toni, everything about this fetid menstrual stain of a town is miserable.” She eased around to face her with a cold expression. “I sleep in a diner. There is a sex tape of me getting fingered by a townie. I spent Christmas being questioned by the police about gangs that sound like reject Hogwarts houses, I mean,” she gave a hollow laugh, “this macabre comedy of errors was never supposed to be my life. And Jughead getting shot five minutes before picking me up? Pretty thunderous wakeup call that I could be next.”
Toni’s eyes flickered in naked appall at the selfishness of the comment. “Is that all it was?”
Veronica’s shoulders tipped up coolly. “I’m not dying here, girl. It was a fun social experiment while it lasted, but I’m done pretending I have anything in common with any of the frankly incestuous people that live here, or that my life was ever meant to be as small as theirs. So yeah, I’m going back to New York, and yeah, I don’t want anything about this mortifying stretch of time following me there, and yeah, that means my coup de grâce is essentially a disappearing act. That’s it.” She shrugged again, pointblank. “That’s why I’m leaving. FP and his latent syphilis have nothing to do with it.”
Toni eyed her for a long, silent stretch before turning wordlessly toward the door. She paused in the doorway, hand catching the frame. “This will crush him. You doing this. Regardless of the reason. You know that, right?”
It took her a second to look up at her.
Veronica stared back vacantly.
“He’s a big boy.” Her mouth took on a horrible slant. “Surprisingly big, actually.”
Toni’s face flooded in disgust. She took a final beat to take her in, as if searching for any last shred of her that was worth knowing, before shaking her head and shoving the door open. “Have a nice life, Veronica.”
“That’s the plan.”
The door swung shut behind her, and Veronica waited till the sound of her car pulling away had fully faded before slowly sliding down to the floor.

rules: share some unpopular opinions about 5 different fandoms of your choosing.
riverdale: bughead, varchie and barchie are all good ships for very different reasons in my opinion! yes bhva are my otps but barchie is a good ship too! also us being stuck in the 50's literally makes S7 pointless, the whole show pointless it literally makes zero sense and I think they only did it because they ran out of ideas tbh lmao
the vampire diaries: elena is an incredible amazing character and doesn't deserve any of the unnecessary hate she gets just because you don't like who she chooses romantically!! I'm delena af but I loved her when she was with stefan, she was an amazing character!!
the secret circle: cassie was an amazing character!! she was strong and brave and is the reason they were all alive! she's not a homewrecker or a bitch just because adam constantly chased after her which was his choice and she's not a bitch because she walked away from jake for lying to her about murdering witches like I ship jassie too but the fact she even still talked to him after finding out he was a witch hunter was amazing lol also cadam, jassie and diadam were all incredible ships they all were amazing for different reasons!! and cadam really did have a lotttttt of shippers and cadam/jassie we're 50/50 in the fandom I was in the fandom back then so I know lol
the originals: klaus/hayley and klaus/cami were incredible ships and a thousand times better than klaroline in every way and the only reason people hate on hayley and cami is because deep down they know it and know klayley/klamille had the development and growth their ship didn't!!
legacies: hope/landon were an amazing ship and your argument is invalid!! the only reason people hate them is because they know they were the main love story and no hope ship stood a chance while landon was around end of the story!! I also ship hizzie/hafael but I still stand by what I said!!

the core four are over for dinner and fake thornhill then penelope sends them on some missions where archie fights a bear, bee and vee drink poison and are slowly dying and jughead fights chic (imposter brother) for role of game master. betty must shoot her father to survive and she does. after surviving the night they escape the forest and are all traumatized even more. lovely. they talk in pops and with the clashing of milkshakes, we see a flash to spring of next year. around a campfire stand archie betty and veronica in their underwear covered in blood, throwing a bloody crown beanie in a fire. jughead is dead. how? thats yet to be revealed. a few months pass, summer ends and archies dad dies due to the passing of his actor. its a very heartfelt episode and its very well done but stuff goes to shit again. but good things are going for jughead! hes at a preppy school for his writing, attending with a bret weston wallis and donna sweett, who are besties and writers. also mentionable bettys real brother comes to town and guess what, hes also jugheads brother, while bugheads parents are dating. its basically incest but no one talks about it. jugheads class has a competition for ghostwriter and surprise! he gets it and a yale scholarship! thats so good for him, his loved ones congratulate. expect for the fact that it gets him killed. killed dead. bee vee and arch are all so sad, so sad that betty and archie get together! uh oh, it ignites old flames and jugheads not actually dead hes faking his death to prove the legend of stonewall prep. jughead besting death 2/? gifset. barchie cheat on their current partners and bughead and varchie break up around graduation time, which archie is too dumb to be able to do (he didnt have enough time to study with all his running away). 7, yes 7, years later, they meet up again. veronica is married to some guy named chad gekko. betty works for the fbi. archie just got back from fighting in ww1, a 4 year war. jughead published a book but at the cost of becoming and drunk. either way its a very lowkey interaction. jughead gets a job at pops and works with the new tabitha tate and they talk about the mothmen a lot. hm. what could that be? flames are kindled, couples get back and break up and its all a mess but before the season 5a finale we have betty and archie: fucking. archie and veronica: something is there. gay kevin and fangs: having tonis baby. jughead and tabitha: pining and a little kissing and handcuffs. chic and real half brother (charles) are actually gay criminals for each other so they try and kill betty after making her wed them. we get a hiram centric episode and the fans go wild. its only an episode tho, cause cheryl is starting a church to worship her dead brother. the mothmen are actually blossoms who incest incest and um. yeah. anyway pops blows up and they drive hiram out of town as his actor sadly leaves riverdale. hiram is not hiram forever. then archies house blows up and interrupts more barchie sex. now we’re in rivervale? and who is this jughead serling fellow showing us around town? most stuff is similar except the town sacrifices archie to the gods of the forest and no beta he die like jesus on the cross. more horrors haunt the town like the hot british devil, la llrona, and a history lesson on cheryls gay ancestors who is all one ancestor: abigal blossom. now archies alive again. yippee! jughead sees a dead jughead questions rivervale as she knows it and looks up on parallel universes. when archie is revealed as a killer (evil era) betty kills him and her and jughead make out with a bomb under the bed to try and destroy vale. twist tho. remember jughead serling. hes backkkk. he stops the make out ses and tells jughead vale to lock himself in a fuck bunker and write forever or else dale and vale die. by jughead have fun! dying is so fun tho you become a comic character with endless burgers at pops in heaven!
oh my god I need to make a part three of this. for just season 6b. that should be so fun

would you ever write a fix it fic for barchie? i love your writing and after that series finale, i could really use a fix it fic 😭 no worries if you've moved on though, i get it jdsfkldsjfl
first of all thank you for saying that! second of all ngl every barchie brain cell i have has been on fire since that finale and so i don't want to say no but i also don't want to say yes bc who knows how long this will last 😂 so! i know that's unhelpful, but i'm going to consider and potentially try. watch this finally be the reason i finish my unfinished barchie multichap lmfao

I don't watch Riverdale anymore but everybody is getting ecstatic over Betty and Archie finally happening.
I am siting here thinking how lucky they should feel that the writers are willing to explore Barchie's relationship.
I can’t say the same for Bellarke tragedy in The 100.
Not only, Jason Rothenberg intentionally keep disrespecting and toying with the fans for years and years but he had the audacity to slap us in the face by telling us that we misinterpreted the storyline of the series.
It is hard to wrap up and accept what happened with Bellarke due to the fact that Clarke was the person who pulled the trigger. She murdered Bellamy in cold blood for literally no good reason. I wouldn't considered her choice so out of character, If it was anyone else other than Bellamy.
Jason Rothenberg managed to taint every significant moment between Clarke and Bellamy that took place before that moment. Bellamy and Clarke were mates of soul who shared a bond of understanding that was like a tether that binds two souls together.
He destroyed in one moment, the whole relationship that he was building for years between Clarke and Bellamy. He left them devoid of anything.

To summarise:
Of all the things hearing loss might affect, writing should not be one. And yet …
ASL teacher Daniel gives Jughead some pencils and invites him to write down his thoughts. Jughead, who has always used a keyboard to write, predictably doesn’t know what to do with the pencils.
Barchie share a morning beer and make out. This makes sense: I, too, would have to get drunk in order to make out with Archie.
Betty includes Jughead among those hurt by the explosion. Archie hastens to list his best friend after his recently acquired dog.
Nana Roseanna, who used to pick orphan children to groom as her son’s brides, while disposing of her husband’s illegal spawn in the woods, dispersed Cheryl’s soul to the aether, so that Abigail may restore the Blossoms to their former glory. Nana Roseanna did not marry into a wealthy colonialist family for them not to be on top of things.
Archie asks Jughead about the explosion. He communicates by writing down his questions on pieces of paper. I don’t know what is less believable: the fact that Archie actually visited Jughead or that he knows how to write.
Since Kevin agreed to stay at Riverdale to take care of Baby Anthony, he decides to take up his dad’s offer to become a deputy, a post most compatible with babysitting. His degree in the performing arts will make him the most educated member of the sheriff’s staff in the last decade.
Archie munches on some cool ranch doritos in honour of the late Hiram Lodge. Good night, sweet prince.
Agent Lin calls Betty to inform her about Glen’s disappearance. And also, to remind her that she’s supposed to be working at the FBI office instead of doing construction at Archie’s house.
Abuelita Luna introduces Veronica to her godson Heraldo, who takes care of her, since her son, her daughter-in-law and her two granddaughters can’t be bothered.
Who would deliver Hiram’s eulogy better than Veronica, asks the same abuelita who had witnessed firsthand the father-daughter cutthroat antagonism over rum.
Jughead tells Tabitha that he can’t write without listening to music. Is the reason behind Jughead’s s5 writer’s block finally revealed? Did those New York rats eat his earphones?
Betty complains of a headache. Agent Lin suggests it might be a migraine. “I’ve never had migraines before”, replies Betty. Well, you didn’t use to drink beer for breakfast either, girl ...
In order to help apprehend TBK, Betty distributes forensic drawings. Of a man’s head. In a trash bag. You know, to better identify the suspect.
Tumblr media
The 4 male FBI agents dismissed by Betty in the previous episode are back. Consistency, thy name is not Riverdale.
Cheryl’s way of speaking has been so cuckoo bananas that nobody realises a 100+ year-old ghost is inhabiting her body. For realsies?
Kevin embraces the fact that he’s an extra in this show: he accepts Hermione’s invitation to breakfast for a Real Housewives of New York episode.
It’s Veronica’s turn to feature in Riverdale’s Very Special Edition of: An Offspring Apologises To Their Lousy Parent.
TBK visits Betty in the FBI Office to give her Glen’s hand.
Archie proclaims the house is structurally sound. Therefore, less than 20 mins later he falls through the landing.
Purportedly, palladium makes Archie less dense. If only …
Barchie share a nightcap and talk. A pattern slowly emerges.
Everyone except abuelita knows about Veronica hiring a hitman to kill her father. No one except abuelita cares.
TBK turns out to be a new member of Archie’s construction crew: his name is Dennis and, yes, he’s obviously a menace.
“You’re the only one from the gang that came to Hiram’s funeral”, says Veronica to Reggie. “I’m sure everyone else was busy.” Everyone else was targeted by daddykins, Veronica.
Bingo learns from Archie that he can make his bones by killing a serial killer. The things Bingo does for a lamb flap ...
TBK falls from the attic window and runs away, s3Jughead-style. Only poor Ben Button fell from a window and died. Such bad luck.
FBI Agent Cooper’s solution to keep TBK from murdering her friends/co-workers is to lead him out of Riverdale, so that he can murder people elsewhere. Charles would be so proud!
“I always wanted to be a good father to you” says the man who tried to kill his daughter’s  boyfriend, who forced her into moving out from her house and sleeping at the Diner, and who tried to sabotage her college interview. Veronica plays a second round of Riverdale’s Very Special Edition of: An Offspring Apologises To Grieves Over Their Lousy Parent.
We are, however, treated to a Hiram-centric montage culminating in Marc Consuelos’ backside in his tight, tight jeans. All is forgiven.
I do not agree that writing comic books is for those who fail to write novels, but taking RAS’ career into consideration, I’m willing to make an exception.
Jughead who -as a writer- used to imagine what people talked about, can now actually hear their thoughts. The opportunities! The things he might be privy to!!!
He learns that Tabitha is wondering if she left the oven on at Pop’s.
Toffee is sharing a beer with Bingo, trying to explain to him what he did wrong.
Bottoms up, everybody!

G’day. So I came pretty late to the tumblr riverdale fandom zone, so a lot of the behind the scenes and “leaks” pre… like, 5x10 are things I straight up missed. Therefore I don’t understand a lot of the references people make to past things, namely this one thing I’ve been curious about but completely unable to bring myself to search for in fear of coming across BA extremists.
Therefore my question is: what the ever living heck is this BA “flower shop” rumour that I’ve read several times in passing, mainly from fellow BH enthusiasts who like to maniacally laugh and shout “WHERE WAS YOUR FLOWER SHOP SCENE HUH?!” to the heavens? Like, what was the context of this part of the fandom lore 😂
*war flashbacks*
inhales deeply. eyes close. breathes out slowly.
this post is going to be long, i apologize in advance.
nah, ha. okay, so. it's been a good while so i may not have all of the details from that time but here we go:
first, search #barchie disinformation campaign. all of tumblr. not just my blog. that they faked an entire lili interview to hype b/a sometime around when kj had done an interview (that was real) and said he and lili had filmed an emotional scene (i believe it was the one from 5x08) and it was published. by a magazine.
then pulled down.
because of a lili imposter.
yes. that happened.
the b/as blamed us but the whole interview was basically "lili" gushing about b/a and kj. it made people side eye. the whole thing was done over e-mail, etc, it was an embarrassment for the magazine and it's generally fandom lore at this point that some b/a faked being lili to seventeen magazine. once it came out, more media outlets said publicly that they too, had been reached out to by the lili imposter.
why does everyone accept that it was the b/as? well, content of the interview aside, there's more. this isn't new behavior for them.
there's the writer dms they faked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and yes, that comes along with the flower shop. where they faked a concept art, an imbd page, all of it. truly dedicated nonsense, i must admit.

Riverdale Fall Promptathon: @crazymisscarly
I’m super keen to participate in the fall (lol it’s Spring in Australia) @riverdalepromptathon ! Check it out here :)
If you want, feel free to request some in my ask box. Season 5 was depressing and only fanfiction will erase the pain.
Fics I’m already writing thanks to prompts:
Tapes of Us Universe:
Carnival Fic (thanks anon!)
First night in the Combi with newborn Elle (thanks @bugheadsfangirl, I’m particularly excited for this one)
Jughead and Betty looking after baby Elle during classes at Yale (cheers @imreallytryinghelp)
Season 5 AU Universe:
Sick Jughead/Comforting Betty (featuring cute assistant toddler Jordan Jones) (another grateful nod to an anon)
Betty’s pregnancy with Emma Jones (thank you @bugheadsfangirl for suggesting this on Ao3!!!)
Other prompts:
Bughead secret relationship (arigatou @buggheadie)
I’m accepting prompts for:
Anything Bughead related that I’ve previously written, or have hinted at. Jones-Cooper-Smith Family fics, whether that be for my post season 4 AUs or something from the canon series. Also Falice, Choni, Varchie, Kangs, Teggie or friendships with Kevin/Betty and Archie/Jughead. I like Tabitha, Polly, Jellybean and Sweet Pea a lot too, so I’m open to fics about those characters.
I’m an absolute SIMP for family fics so by all means, I’m open to baby/kid fics.
Prompts that I’m graciously refusing:
Barchie as a romantic duo. Hard pass. Jabitha (unless it’s wholesome friendship Jabitha). Cheryl as a witch in the regular canon series (idk maybe I’ll consider a magical fic with the Blossoms and Sabrina but it’d need to be a pretty intriguing prompt haha). Hardcore smut (I could do some low-level stuff but nothing in my brain will make me unironically type ‘cock’ or ‘clit’. Sorry lads its just not for me, but yes I’ve probably read yours 😂).
Art/gifs made by others:
I don’t mind if you want to do that, I’d be excited to see it! My creativity is limited to writing so go wild LOL just tag me please so I can see it :D

Aaaaaaahhhh I have so many thoughts!
Obviously I am very happy to see Jeronica stills!!!
Is this the obligatory core four/Jeronica moment we get in every episode 1 and finale of a Riverdale series? Yes. Does this make me sad because they should all interact and interlink storylines throughout the whole series? Obviously. That is too difficult for these shitty writers.
Anger about that aside, this is all we get so I will eat up every bite for all it’s worth.
Firstly, they’ve sat Jeronica/Barchie together again when they didn’t have to (probably to appease these fandoms without angering the main ship fandoms). Still it makes me happy.
Secondly, I love, love, LOVE that we get a Jeronica reading-glasses solidarity moment! They’re even wearing the same/similar colours! Eeuuuurrggh the matching aesthetic is maybe the most obvious parallel drawn between the two characters that we’ve had in while!
I am completely aware this doesn’t mean much because the writers make it up as they go along. Yet, I like to believe that this could foreshadow which sides the core four will fall in the ominous Season 6 ‘divide’ of characters that was teased by the poster caption. I mean they’re sat opposing each other, not in their main couplings and the similar visuals (of Veronica and Jughead at least) are very very on the nose.
Idk I just think that this whole scene set up feels like a particular choice. It would also make sense to have the main ships be separated by this ‘divide’ in order to provide a conflict for the plot of S6. Unfortunately for us the writing never makes sense therefore I will expect to be disappointed 😅
So those are my thoughts. Excited to finally have some Jeronica material though because we haven’t had ANY since the time jump.

Lili had like 100 questions per minute on her live a few months back and she chose to read the “do you miss bughead” one out loud and then say “yes I do” now I’m not saying she prolly cares very much either way what happens on the show but I would think if she was that serious about “not allowing bughead” she wouldn’t be answering friendly questions about them I am just saying!
She's always been openly supportive of Bughead and not so much of barchie. Now of course, this could be just her trying to be professional and supporting the ship that's currently happening, but in that case that would be the reason why she now stopped trashing barchie so openly. So either way, any "support" she shows towards barchie can be countered by years of support of bughead. And at the end of the day, her opinion doesn't really matter because she's not a writer of the show. If she had so much influence, I'm sure she'd use it on fixing some other terrible stuff they've done with her character.
