For anyone who wanted to watch the Tales of Symphonia Festival 20th Anniversary stream from a few weeks ago, but couldn't get the ticket, I decided to record the entire thing and put it up on g drive. It's been split into different sections and is unsubbed. So, here you go! (This may or may not stay up forever, depending).
Starts off with two character skits, then a concert, the main scenario, some free talk with the VAs, more concerts plus a fan showcase, and a final skit that one day I'm going to translate because it was so adorable and sweet.
Some highlights of the main scenario in particular include: sassy Genis and Raine banter, Presea being precious, Regal teasing a flustered Sheena, Lloyd getting a mini heart attack from Colette, Noishe's dog whines in real time (you won't guess who voices him), a trip down memory lane reliving all of the party members' traumas, cute Flanoir and Altamira deluxe suite reenactments, the audience choosing whether Zelos lives or dies, Colette's VA doing a fistpump of victory for her special scene, Sheena and Zelos sharing one brain cell, extra Mithos dialogue, and actual closure?? between Lloyd and Kratos, all written by Symphonia's scenario writer.
Anyone can feel free to translate, or wait until the DVD is up for preorder. But I had a lot of fun watching this, and think other people will too.

What I love most about the final sequence in episode 3 is that it actually isn't Stede simply rescuing Ed. In the purgatory, he doesn't pull him up or unties the rope. In reality, Stede also doesn't touch Ed's body until his hand starts twitching and he starts fighting to stay alive - before that he just sits near and talks, and he manages to reach the last bit of life left in Ed. The vision of Stede in purgatory gives Ed hope, a promise of a future, of a home - warmth, food, intercourse (orgasm). Things he knows he'll miss. Ed chooses to live because now, the one person that understood him to his core, is there - and the scene with Izzy, where despite them not being together for who knows how long, Stede knows Ed would either watch the world burn or die trying, and he still loves Ed and chooses him. Izzy thinks he knows Ed best because they've worked together for so long and he believes (used to believe?) Stede was the worst possible thing for Blackbeard and that's the moment it hits him - he is the one that doesn't know the true Ed, he couldn't even imagine it would be so bad because his idealised version of Blackbeard didn't consider the person under the pirate. Stede met Ed few weeks earlier and already fully understand the way his brain works. He doesn't have to see Ed to know how he'll react.
And then Edward. Poor, broken Edward that believes the worst about himself and materialises it in Hornigold who in this version left the piracy and lives a peaceful, quiet life, something that Ed wishes he could have. He is deeply mentally unwell, the drugs and alcohol sure made it worse but still, Ed wants to live. Just not as Blackbeard/the Kraken. He just doesn't see a reason for it.
Mermaid Stede appears and brings in the light that was so painfully absent from Ed's life. He doesn't choose to live just for Stede, but now he knows there is at least one person that cares for him and that means, maybe - just maybe, he can learn to care for and love himself. The fact Stede stays with him underwater for as long as Ed needs to think it through and figure it out for himself - the rope unties itself, the smile that was gone so long finally appears again. The feeling of being known and the hope that he can become Ed, or Jeff, or whatever version he wants, because despite it being incredibly hard - now he isn't walking that road alone.

Spock Amok Time: Cinematic Parallels between Spock's Nightmare and His Kalifee with James Kirk
If Spock Amok tells us anything, by it’s cinematography and emotional reactions, and fight choreography, it’s this:
Kirk is the epitome of Spock's humanity, the other half of Spock's soul. Even before they had ever even really met. He almost killed it, but never could, and never wanted to to begin with.

Some quick uncolored sketches I made of my reactions to the WH update. What a rollercoaster of emotions that was at 3AM. Spectacular voice acting, gorgeous artwork, the writing was incredible too, and the new website layout looks very nice! I struggled for two hours trying to solve the decoder puzzle. I’m horrendous at word scramble, working my brain so hard to the point of a near headache. Eventually, I did figure it out (anddefinitelydidntjustsearchuptheanswer), and man what a treat!
You know, I used to be one of the fans that thought, “Home isn’t evil. They haven’t done anything wrong yet. Surely they’re just misunderstood and actually cares a lot about Wally and is good friends with all of the neighbors.” Then this update happened. Now I’ve placed a foot on the side of Home being pretty sus actually. I may still not understand much of what happened, but what I do know is that Eddie was already having a rough day. The man deserved to have a break.

Here are my references that I used for a couple of my sketches. (If anyone knows the artists of these, do let me know so I can give proper credit. I’ve been searching but haven’t found them yet.):

omg do you actually work in medical devices? whats that like?
Well, the first thing you gotta realize is that no matter how cool your job is or how much it's aligned with something you're really passionate about, it is still a job and brother, I have worked some days. That being said, it's pretty cool! I work in regulatory, which means i get to interface between a lot of different groups like R&D, Quality (my BESTIESSS), Supply Chain, Marketing, and clients/surgeons to make sure everything we're doing follows the regulations of whatever countries or governing bodies we're working with. I love medical devices and learning about/working with the different aspects of their development, production, sustaining work, etc so it's very cool to touch a little bit of the entire lifespan of a device. Regulatory is definitely a lot of paperwork, a lot of compliance training, and a lot of being very very careful about what you do and do not say, but it also means I get a really varied experience and touch base with a lot of different people in my work every day.

// good evening, gonna try and do some small stuff I have left here but first I have to recover from the realization that Clone Wars Palpatine (one of them anyway) was the same man who voiced Ganthet in Green Lantern: The Animated Series and I’m very ❤️
