btw i loved this so much i love it when rick gets super excited about something and his first instinct is to include morty in it by venting his excitement through stuff like grabbing him and shaking him around and getting up in his face. it’s a really subtle demonstration of like oh that’s how you know you really love someone and it means a lot to me . and also the fact that in this case what rick is getting SO worked up about is the fact that he’s gonna be spending time with morty

i know everyone here myself included is a big nerd so, like percival schuttenbach, so we do not find a problem with this but instead find it cool, but

you ever think about how in the interior of regis’ hut by fen carn, his room was literally just: a bed. a small table littered with vials and flasks. a pot-bellied stove. and an extensive, complex, highly developed distillery system. and the only food he had on hand was a basket of horseradish.

now, this sounds great, because distillery is a cool hobby, but i don’t think any of us are putting this into perspective

imagine it like this:

meet a guy, middle aged, maybe 50s. lives alone in the middle of nowhere. okay. goes to his place to spend the night.

go inside his room. no furniture in the entire room except a bed and a small bedside table with a bunch of mismatched dirty cups, some randomly half-full. and taking up half the room is an excessively pro gaming setup, monitors, chair, the works, all in all costing about $50K, lighting up the entire room with enough RGB lighting to send you to heaven. oh and there’s a radiator heater in the corner.

Where do I begin even, if you haven’t heard, Joe Hawley of Tally Hall has been accused of some pretty bad stuff. Again. And like, as someone who was a fairly big fan of his stuff, I must say, pretty not alright as of now.

Absolutely do not condone of his actions, and I really want to just. Avoid all things Joe for now. Idk might listen to Tally Hall stuff. Maybe. Like, yeah Joe 100% messed up and I don’t want to support him, but just. Separate the art from the artist. Again, do not condone his actions at all, and as for now, I have other stuff to listen to.

Do u have any advice or recources on learning 3d art? I really love ur GQ model and hope I can make something of similar quality some day soon :3c

I get this question surprisingly often and it's kinda hard for me to answer because I'm really not that much of an expert? The way I did it was: Go to college for game art, learn 3D stuff but focus on 2D, and then after college dedicate yourself to modelling a lowpoly Vtuber avatar inspired by an artstyle you love (Mega Man Legends) out of spite because you hate the push for realism and barely noticeable graphical improvements in AAA games.

Like, I guess the few tips I think I can give are: get a strong focus, a design you really want to realise or an artstyle you really want to learn to replicate, to keep you motivated when things get hard or go wrong (and they will go wrong, this is the universal truth of 3D modelling). and then just look stuff up when needed/ask people for help (you're doing that, good job!) Also be inquisitive about the program! (I use Blender) Experimenting with tools and settings has taught me a lot honestly, and I've invented silly little useful techniques this way.

OH also when you're trying a new thing, like rigging or testing out how a tool works, just do so in a new scene! I find it helps when you don't have the clutter of your actual project during that, yknow?
