Autism be dammed my boy knows how to steal a heart

Akira is so autistic and like everyone accepts this except maybe those dude-bro persona fans so I’m going to yell into the void about it.

He stim. Hair twirls? Rocking on his feet? Twirling a pen? Probably meows and/or purrs? Like you know how you can make the mona bus purr in mementos he probably imitates that what a loser I love him. All of the other stims are so real though I love watching him go!!!

Selectively mute.. like okay he’s a silent protag who he speaks sometimes in short amounts mostly. But like Yu Narukami speaks plenty in the P4 anime but Akira is still relatively silent. I like the idea that he and the phantom thieves learn sign language so he can be more comfy :3

Hard time with Eye contact. Now I know he wears glasses to obscure his face and look less scary because of the rumours around his record - I am an akira fanatic of course I know that. BUT he wears them all the time he definitely finds it comforting ++ his fringe obscured his face too I like to think he just like the layer of protection to hide behind.

Hard time socialising appropriately. For a start, because he’s pretty silent people carry the conversations for him which can be pretty awkward in reality (as someone who does this too) in itself but also some of his dialogue options can be quite rude or idk quirky, I don’t think he’s a mean person (I mean he is literally a kind selfless person who stands up for people who can’t do so themselves) and he just struggles with being blunt/ saying what’s on his mind/ not interpreting the conversation just right. OH ALSO with the silent thing you know how often in the confidants he is listening to peoples troubles? Autistic people often struggle with empathy right and their comfort instead of often via just listening and being near you - akira is a great listener. Oh god this section is long but trust me he has the tism!!!

This part is purely HC but he gets sensory satisfaction out of morgana sleeping on his chest, the smell of coffee, the sounds of chess pieces being placed, chewing his pen/pencil, the atmosphere of the jazz jin.

Sojiro’s curry becomes safe food. It’s all he wants to eat.

He, Futaba, and Goro all have a special interest in featherman - post game (yes goro is alive) they often have binge sessions and play the games and oh my god they all run blogs LMAO and they all are heavily into kinning the characters because it gives them a safe label on their identity. (Not self projecting at all) also he has a Hyperfixation on classic literature - this hc is purely because of that one clip of xander mobus reading an Edgar Allan Poe exert.

OKAY ILL SHUT UP NOW BUT THERE IS MORE.

All of these are canon divergent.

Yu Narukami [Persona 4] -- Before moving to Inaba, I was best friends with the P5 protagonist. We used to go to the arcade together and he was honestly really good at those dancing games like DDR.

Goosefeather [Warrior Cats Series] -- When I joined Windclan after being exiled from Thunderclan for doing my job as a Medicine Cat. Windclan wasn't super acceptive at first, as they had just finished fighting Thunderclan, but due to their lack of Medicine Cat, I was brought in anyways. Windclan was far kinder to me than Thunderclan.

Yusuke Kitagawa/Fox [Persona 5] -- When I joined the Phantom Thieves, I originally had black hair. Ann helped me dye my hair blue. She picked the color for me as well. I was very into symbolism and common symbolism for starting over is cutting your hair short-- my hair was just short enough that I couldn't do that so we dyed it instead.

Galacta Knight [Kirby series] -- So at one point, Kirby and MetaKnight got me to try some foods and drinks. I was a very big fan of hot chocolate mixed with coffee! But it was super fun to try things! I also liked Cheesecake. Like MetaKnight, I had a sweet tooth.

Tbh most of my kins were miserable, but here's some good moments.
