Braise's boots land on the ground, before she closes the truck's doors, taking a look at her surroundings. Several agents and operators as well as civilians were walking around, talking. Occupied with their own tasks, their own problems.

Rainbow's headquarters were full of life during the day. Military police patrolling, human ressources agents taking care of the place.

Braise and Buck had just arrived to the HQ, unloading the back of the truck, grabbing their duffle bags. Luna puts the strap around her shoulder, taking a deep breath. Sebastien making his way around the car, chuckles before placing a hand on the girl's shoulder.

“Don't be nervous.” He says, as she turns around to face him. Ursi shakes her head with a smile.

“I'm not nervous. I'm apprehending.”

“That's like the beginning of being nervous, Luna.” Buck answers, letting his hand slide down her shoulder before turning around towards a small building.

Today, they were supposed to meet Braise's orientation operator, so that he'd show her around. Thermite had been selected by Harry who tried to pair two compatible operators. He thought they could both learn a lot from each other.

Unfortunately, Jordan had other things to do. Supervising a new operator was not at the top of his list and it wasn't something he was interested in doing. Nevertheless, he had read her dossier, noticing she was in the police might make the job a little bit less insufferable.

On her side, Braise didn't really know what to expect. It was all new for her, but nothing she couldn't handle.

She walks towards the entry of the building where she meets the gaze of three agents talking. It was Hibana, Thermite and Pulse. They were in the middle of debating wether Jack wore the pants in the relationship or Yumiko. Of course, Jordan agreeing with Yumiko escaped a laugh before turning towards the new girl. He crosses his hands, examining Braise that was on her way to her.

Pulse nods and pats Jordan on the back wishing him good luck before leaving with Hibana.

Luna, that had been a bit startled by Jordan's laugh stops several meters away from the door where he was. Buck had to go now, leaving her in the hands on her new supervisor.

Braise catches a glimpse of Thermite's gaze before turning to her friend. “Who is this guy?”

Buck chuckles, readjusting the strap of his bag and leaning a bit forward towards her. “Don't be hostile, go say hello. His name is Jordan Trace. He's your new supervisor.”

She lifted an eyebrow at the word. Supervisor? Why did she need a supervisor? Wasn't she already operational? Luna had many questions that she thought would probably be answered by Trace.

The girl takes a deep breath before sighing and looking back at Thermite. “Alright, I'll make sure I don't scare him off immediately.”

"Good."

“I give him a couple of hours before.” She continues, now turning her gaze towards Buck.

He grins and slightly pushes her shoulder. “Go now, jackass.”

Braise gives him a last smile before walking towards Thermite as Buck watches her leave. Jordan still had his eyes on her, trying to figure out how this was going to go. The incendiary grenades strapped to Ursi's waist caught his attention. Another explosive enthuast? Maybe it wouldn't be that bad after all.

As she arrives, Jordan uncrosses his arms and approached her as well, handing his hand out.

“You must be Luna Ursi.” He says with a slight smirk. He was bigger than her, leaning a bit towards Luna as he introduced himself. “I'm Jordan Trace.”

She politely smiles, grabbing his hand and shaking it. As they exchange formalities, Luna feels the burning scars of the man's hands against her skin. She tilts her head, looking at Thermite's bandages in a subtle way. But Braise and subtility never really worked well together. Jordan notices it but, not minding, he looks at her eyes, slowly pulling away from her hand.

“So, you're supposed to be my supervisor?”

Braise's eyes are innocent, but they're hungry for knowledge. They seem interested in Thermite. Useless to say, physically, Jordan was very attractive. His blues eyes had caught Luna's attention. She couldn't help but stare at him when he answered her question.

“Supervisor, guide, orienter, whatever you wanna call it. I'm here to help you get accustomated to the team. Follow me, Luna.”

Somehow, hearing her first name come out of Jordan's mouth made her shiver. Braise nods and follows him, and he took some kind of pleasure seeing her reaction. With her bag around her shoulder, they start walking around the base.

As Thermite was about to ask to take her duffle bag, Luna interupts him. “I do have a question. How come I need a supervisor? Am I not supposed to be already operational?”

Trace chuckles, gently grabbing her bag from her shoulder. She shifts a bit from his movement, a bit suprised but helps him take it off. “You must be impatient, I understand. You're new, you don't wanna waste any time, you wanna get into the field. There's few steps you've gotta take first.”

While they talked, they were casually glancing at each other, interested in what the other had to say.

“Will it take long? It's not like i'm completely new with everything.” Luna answers, a bit impatient.

“You've got people to meet, a procedure to learn. A shit ton of procedures to learn actually.”

Braise giggles at his words, catching Thermite's attention. He simply smiles and continues to explain everything. “Listen, if I could, i'd make you skip all that. I've read your file, everything seems fine. You're good to go. But Eliza, she's the one to convince.”

It was true. She had to convince Ash she was ready. They all had different trainings, so they needed to be on the same standard, and Thermite was going to help her acheive this standard.

“And you're going to help me convince her?” Luna asks stopping on the track as they arrive in front of what seems to be a stadium.

Thermite stops as well, now in front of her. His expression changes to be a bit more serious. “Listen, I'm your supervisor, which means you come to me when you have questions or demands. If you're in trouble you come to me.” Luna nods as he talks. Looking up at him, not breaking eye contact.

“If you're hurt, you come to me, if someone tries to mess with you, you come to me.” He continues with an assertive tone of voice.

Braise was surprised. How could she count that much on someone she had just met. “I couldn't possibly do that.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’m not your problem.”

Luna wasn't used to leaning on someone. She couldn't understand why something he didn't want to do turned into such a big responsability. Neither could he. When Thermite saw her, it's like he wanted to take care of her and teach her everything she needed to know. He wanted to do it. No one else, but him.

“Be my problem.” Jordan orders.

Braise gulps, almost startled by his words. Then she slightly smiles, glad someone would help her through all of this. She tilts her head down, signaling she understands.

Maybe this whole mentoring thing wouldn't be that bad, after all.
