Nightmare
MC x Solomon Warnings: Hurt/Comfort Word Count: 1709
A/N: The song is Nightmare by Set It Off. It's one of my favorite songs and made me think of Solomon awhile back. I'm glad I finally got to write this story. It took a different direction than I thought it would, but I still like how it turned out. I hope you enjoy!
They're coming, creeping from the corner
And all I know is that I don't feel safe
Solomon doesn't talk about his past much. You knew this. Of course you knew this. You’ve tried so many times to get Solomon to tell you stories from his life. He would brush off your requests with some cheeky one-liner and that was that. So, you didn’t get to know the real reason why he’s always on edge. “We’re humans in the Devildom, MC. Why wouldn’t I be?” That’s his response whenever you asked him about it. Nevermind that Solomon managed to beat Diavolo when he was mad and actively going for Solomon’s throat. Nevermind that he walked from the Human World all the way to the underworld and then back. Nevermind that he’s fought a war against the Devildom.
The only thing that you really know is that Solomon doesn’t feel safe. You’re actually not sure if you’ve ever seen him truly relaxed. Sure he puts up this laid back facade, but you know him better than that. Which is why you’re not entirely shocked by the sight before you upon coming home.
I feel the tapping on my shoulder
I turn around in an alarming state
But am I losing my mind? I really think so
Not a creature in sight
Solomon whips around when he hears the door click, eyes wide with fear. He’s scared of something. You’re not sure what, but he is.
“Sol… Is everything alright?”
“MC, I-” He cuts himself off and looks over your shoulder and then peers out the window.
But, what you don't know
Is that my breathing gets faster and so does my heartbeat
I wish this was over, I wish that this was a dream
He can feel his heartbeat speeding up. It’s getting hard for him to breathe. This hasn’t happened in awhile. He’s usually good at hiding these things from everyone. But not now, not from you.
“MC, I don’t-” He closes his eyes and tries to take a deep breath. Anything to get this to stop. For things to go back to normal, where he could pretend everything was okay.
“Sol, look at me. Can you look at me?”
I created a monster, a hell within my head
With nowhere to go, I'm out on my own
Oh, I'm so scared
Solomon opens his eyes and there are tears forming. You’ve never seen him cry before. In fact, any vulnerability is a rare sight. It’s becoming more frequent, but the moments are few and far between.
“Here, now put your hand here,” You say, guiding his hand to your chest. “Take a deep breath with me. In.” You take a deep breath in and watch as Solomon tries to do the same. He shakes his head, unable to get a deep breath in. “That’s okay. Just keep your hand here. Can I try something?”
I created a monster, a beast inside my brain
With nowhere to go, I'm out on my own
My mind impaired
Awake me from my nightmare
Solomon nods, tears falling from his eyes. His voice cracks. “Please.”
You move your hands to his face and gently pull him until your foreheads are touching. Your thumbs lightly stroke his cheeks, wiping away the tears that have fallen. “Okay, I want you to close your eyes and focus on my voice. Can you do that for me?”
Solomon nods and closes his eyes.
“Okay. I want you to think of the place you feel the safest. Think really hard about it. Do you have a place in mind?”
Solomon nods again, breathing slowing ever so slightly.
“Okay, can you describe it to me?” You ask.
“It’s your bedroom when we sleep together in there,” He responds. This makes your heart swell. The place he feels safest is with you.
“Can you tell me specific details? I want you to make this as real as possible in your mind.”
“The blankets are soft. It’s warm because you’re next to me, but it’s not too hot. The room is dark, except for the moonlight that comes through the window.” Solomon’s breathing is slowly returning to normal as he describes your room to you.
When he finishes and his breathing returns to normal, you take him into a hug.
“Thank you, MC,” Solomon says, hugging you back. He buries his face in the crook of your neck and you feel tears starting to fall from his eyes.
“I’ll always be here for you Sol. Can you talk to me about what’s going on?”
Wait, something doesn't feel right
No, something seems wrong
And I've been feeling this way
For far too long
“I don’t even know where to start. There’s just so much.”
You slowly rub his back, hoping to comfort him even more. “How about you just tell me one thing. One thing that’s upsetting you.”
“Okay. I don’t feel safe, MC. Something feels wrong but I don’t know what it is. It’s like this feeling that something terrible is going to happen or that something is off.”
“Solomon, you’ve lived a very long life. And I’m sure you have been through a lot of things that would traumatize most people. That’s going to have some lasting effects on you. Let me try something that works for me. Can you tell me what terrible thing you think is going to happen that has you so upset right now?”
“I’m scared I’m going to lose you again, MC. I’m scared that one day you’re going to go out and you won’t come back.”
Your heart breaks for him when you hear that. “Okay, let’s break this down. Why is that a realistic fear?”
“You’re a human in the Devildom. Most demons want to eat you.”
“Okay, and now, why is that fear unlikely to come true?”
“You’re a very capable magic user. And you have a lot of powerful beings watching over you.”
“I don’t think Diavolo would take very kindly to a demon trying to harm me, do you?”
Solomon lets out a tearful laugh. “No, probably not. Seeing him genuinely angry is a rare sight, but I know that whatever demon tried to hurt you would be in for a real bad time.”
“Okay, see? While there is always a chance I’ll get hurt, it’s very unlikely. I don’t think many demons are stupid enough to face the wrath of some of the most powerful beings in the three realms. Now, is there anything else that’s upsetting you?”
As my vision gets blurred, my skin's getting colder
Appearing young, while I'm growing older
I collapse to the floor and scream
"Can anybody save me from myself?"
“I feel trapped, MC. I stay at this physical age, but I grow older every year. Every so often I have to move around, pretending to be a new person. It’s hard to keep any human friends because they all grow older and I don’t. One day you’re going to grow old too. But I will always stay just like I am. Most people would kill to be immortal, but it just feels like a curse anymore.” More tears fall onto your shoulder.
“I can’t imagine how lonely that would be. But, I want you to remember that you do have friends. The brothers, for one. I mean, remember Asmo and Mammon fighting over what Asmo should get you for your birthday? They care about you. And, while I might not always be around, you still have me for quite awhile. And who knows, maybe I’ll stumble upon some ancient artifact that turns me immortal. With how things seem to work for me, that is a possibility.”
Walking to the ledge, I find myself looking down
Frozen still with fear, now I'm plunging to the ground
If only I knew how to fly
Then I could convince myself this isn't my time to die
Solomon laughs again. “Yeah, it is… But I wouldn’t wish immortality upon you MC. It’s truly not as great as it seems. It’s… It’s hell. You watch everything change around you as everyone you know and love grows old and dies. And then you have to start over somewhere else.”
“I have plenty of loved ones who aren’t going to grow old and die. You, for one.” You give him a comforting squeeze and continue to rub his back.
“Yeah, but what about your human family? What about your human friends? Watching the people you love die isn’t an easy thing.”
“No, but that’s a part of life. And I’m sure staying the same age while they get older is hard, but I have you guys. It wouldn’t all be bad. Getting to stay with you forever wouldn’t be bad.”
“Staying with you forever sounds nice… But I still wouldn’t wish this upon you. I don’t want you to turn into what I have.”
“What, a wonderful person who protects humanity? Someone who would do anything to help the ones he loves? That sounds like a pretty good person to me.”
“You have too high an opinion of me, MC.”
Instead, I'm rocketing faster and faster
I dive-bomb to the floor
And when my body crashes to the pavement
I'm right back where I was before
“No, I think my opinion of you is just right.”
Solomon lets out a shaky breath as a few more tears fall. “Everyone calls me shady, some even call me evil. Your opinion-”
You cut him off. “My opinion matters more than a bunch of demons who don’t actually know you. Have you done shady things? Sure. But don’t forget the ones calling you shady are literal demons. They don’t get an opinion when they’re worse than shady themselves. You’re doing great Sol. Despite what you and everyone else thinks, you’re doing great just how you are.”
I created a monster, a hell within my head
With nowhere to go, I'm out on my own
Oh, I'm so scared
Awake me from my nightmare
Solomon sniffles, pulling his face back up and wiping the rest of his tears. “Thank you, MC. I love you and I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
You smile at him. “I love you too Solomon.”

Take a Break
MC x Barbatos Warnings: Fluff Word Count: 1,264
A/N: I'm not as proud of this one as I was hoping I would be, but I hope you all enjoy it. I think Barb deserves a break, okay? Poor demon must be exhausted.
Barbatos was tired, exhausted even. He hid it behind that smile of his well, but you knew better. You could see it in his eyes and the way he took a few extra seconds to open them that morning. But work in the Demon Lord’s castle never comes to an end. That’s what Barbatos would tell you any time you asked him to sit down for even just a minute.
Today was supposed to be even worse than normal. There was an event Diavolo was putting on for the students at RAD so Barbatos’ tasks for the day had grown exponentially. You just felt… sad. He’s been working at this pace for who knows how many years now. You’re surprised the demon hasn’t burnt out. Or maybe he had, but he just refuses to show it.
You didn’t plan this originally. No, originally you just wanted to cook him dinner and maybe give him a shoulder massage. I mean, he deserves to be taken care of for once. However, you slowly realized that with how busy he was today, there was going to be no time for him to stop and let you do these things for him. He has a castle to take care of and an event to make sure runs smoothly after all. So, modifications had been made. With Diavolo’s approval, of course. You’d need his help for this to run smoothly anyways, and well, Diavolo has secretly been worried about Barbatos too.
You sent Barbatos a quick message. “Hey Barb, I won’t be able to make it to the RAD event today. I got held up with something else. Please don’t work too hard.”
Barbatos was quick to respond. “I understand. Let me know if you require any assistance. I shall see you tonight.”
You smiled and shook your head. You put away your D.D.D. and grabbed the list of tasks you wrote down. Little D No. 2 was kind enough to tell you everything Barbatos would usually have done around the Demon Lord’s castle today, were the RAD event not taking place. It was quite the long list and it only made you feel a bit more worried about how Barbatos does everything everyday.
You decided to knock out the harder tasks first. Chances are, you wouldn’t finish up everything on this list, so you wanted to at least get the more challenging and time consuming tasks out of the way first.
Doing these tasks without Barbatos knowing was proving to be more difficult than you originally thought. While he was indeed busy with the RAD event, he kept making trips back to the castle to grab different things, most likely in an attempt to correct things that weren’t going to plan. At one point you thought he saw you while you were cleaning the kitchen. You were quite lucky that the pantry was large enough to fit you and Little D No 2 inside at the same time.
You watched through the crack in the pantry door as Barbatos walked briskly back and forth through the kitchen, grabbing various things he needed to fix whatever one of the brothers surely did. It was rare times like these that Barbatos dropped his mask and you could see how tired he truly was. It only made you more determined to help.
Unfortunately time moved a lot faster than you thought it would. The RAD event was finishing up soon and you weren’t even halfway done with the list. You still needed to start on dinner as well. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.
You pulled out your D.D.D. and sent a text to the Purgatory Hall groupchat. “Friends, I am in need of assistance. Please meet me at the Demon Lord’s castle without alerting Barbatos of your disappearance.”
It did not take long before Solomon, Simeon, and Luke were running into the castle.
“MC, are you okay?”
“What do you need help with?”
“Why couldn’t we tell Barbatos?”
You handed them each a paper with two tasks on it. “Finish these tasks for me in the next hour and I will owe you big time. Solomon, I’ll even try whatever monstrosity of a meal you decide to cook up next.”
This surprised Simeon and Luke. They knew you were serious and got to work without saying another word. And you thought it was going pretty well. Key word: thought. You and Simeon started arguing about how to correctly clean a leather couch. Luke was struggling to reach the shelves he was trying to dust and had knocked a few things onto the ground. And Solomon managed to turn a spot on the carpet he was cleaning blue.
“What is going on here?” Everyone froze at the sound of Barbatos’ voice.
Solomon looked like a deer caught in the headlights. “Scram!”
The angels and the sorcerer disappeared in a flash, leaving you and Barbatos.
“Hey Barb… You’re back early… How did the event go?” You moved in front of the blue spot on the carpet, hoping to conceal it from his eyes.
“MC, what is the meaning of this?” He moved slightly so he could see what you were hiding.
“Well… in my defense, Little D No. 2 told us that you used this carpet cleaner in here.”
“Did you dilute it or just go straight to cleaning?”
“Er… I think Solomon just started cleaning. Honestly, they need to make the directions on those cleaning solutions bigger. It’s a wonder anyone uses those things correctly.”
Barbatos lets out a small sigh, but not a frustrated one. “MC, is this what you were up to all day?”
You nodded, feeling a little sheepish. “It was originally just me, but when I realized I didn’t have enough time to finish the long list of tasks you somehow manage to get done everyday, I enlisted help. Surprise?”
Barbatos smiled softly. “MC, you did not have to go through all the trouble. I can manage my tasks quite well.”
“I know you can, that much is obvious. However, you need a break. You work so hard I’m surprised you haven’t dropped from exhaustion and if you keep going this way I’m going to start… I dunno… Bribing the Little Ds to do more of the cleaning. So… So just sit down and let me fix this.”
Barbatos let out a small chuckle. “I take it that this was why the Young Master was giving me tasks for the event such as ‘round up every person with a blue shirt’?”
You gently move him to sit down on the couch. If anyone else were to have moved him like that, you don’t know what would happen to them. Special partner privileges. “Maybe I should’ve asked someone else to keep you distracted.”
“If you insist I take a break, I will. However, I must insist that you spend the time with me instead of cleaning. I’d much rather sit with you than watch you do my tasks.”
You smiled and grabbed a book off a shelf. “Fine, but I’m going to read to you. Now get comfortable.” You sat down next to him, cuddling into his side.
“By the way, you were correct on how to clean the couch. A vinegar and water solution with a microfiber cloth is a safe method.”
You pulled out your D.D.D. and hit the voice recording button. “Say that again please.”
It was safe to say you and Barbatos spent the rest of the night together. Maybe, just maybe, he might start taking more breaks.

You Must Be Mad
MC x Solomon Warnings: Fluff Word Count: 894
A/N: Another Solomon story... But my next story will be either Satan, Barbatos, or Belphegor as I have stories planned for all three of them! I hope you enjoy this!
You were pacing in your bedroom, completely lost in your own thoughts. Not even the nasty weather outside could distract you.
Did he really love you too? Was Asmo right? No, there was no way. Solomon keeps everyone at arms length… But Asmo would know better than anyone… Right? I mean, he seems to know Solomon the best. And Asmo had a point. Solomon does try to spend a lot of time with you. He would drop anything to help you. And there was that one time you thought he was going to kiss you… But surely you misinterpreted what was happening. Surely.
Lightening strikes outside and you don’t stop thinking about it. Thinking about every interaction.
“MC, I saw this trinket while I was out and it reminded me of you… So here you go!”
“MC, I saw a cat that reminded me of you! Would you like to see?”
“MC, I have to go to the human world to pick something up for Diavolo. Do you want to come with? We can stop by that store you really like.”
Okay, so maybe he did go out of his way to spend time with you… But that doesn’t mean he has feelings for you. Those are totally things friends do too.
You could almost hear Asmo’s voice in your head refuting that. “Yes, friends can do those things, but not Solomon. Stop denying it.”
Why were you denying it? If he had feelings for you back, that would be great, right? So why hasn’t he said anything? No, you know the answer to that. Fear of rejection and also there’s the whole thing of him losing so many loved ones so confessing to you could bring him more pain in the end… But wait, why should he have to confess anyways?
No, you’re going to confess to him. You’re going to do something big and dramatic for him because he deserves that. He does big and dramatic things for you, so why shouldn’t you do something for him? But what should you do? Actually, you knew exactly what you were going to do. And hopefully he would find it equally as sweet as he will funny.
Standing in the pouring rain outside of his window at Purgatory Hall, you wondered why you thought this was a good idea. You cast a small spell that would amplify your voice so Solomon could hear you over the rain and the thunder.
“But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Solomon is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief, that thou, her maid, art far more fair than she. Be not her maid since she is envious. Her vestal livery is but sick and green, and none but fools do wear it. Cast it off.”
Solomon appeared at the window, opening it and looking really concerned. “MC? What are you doing out there? You must be mad coming here like this!”
You smiled. “It is my gentleman, O, it is my love! O, that he knew he were! He speaks, yet he says nothing. What of that?”
Solomon looked even more confused, but a slight blush dusted his cheeks. “MC, are you quoting Shakespeare at me?”
You tried not to laugh. You skipped ahead a few lines. “He speaks! O, speak again, bright angel, for thou art as glorious to this night, being o'er my head.”
Solomon let out a small laugh. “Hold on, MC.” Solomon closed his window and a moment later the front door opened and he met you outside in the pouring rain. “It’s a little wet to be outside, don’t you think?”
“I find it increases the drama.”
“And, why exactly are you dramatically quoting Shakespeare to me?”
You gently grabbed his hands in yours. “Solomon the Wise, the most wonderful sorcerer and best human being I know, you mean more to me than I can describe with words. When I see you or hear from you, my heart does a little happy dance.”
“MC, I-”
“Solomon, let me finish. You are one of the smartest, funniest, kindest, and most chaotic people I know. Now that you’re in my life, I would feel as if something were missing if you were gone. All of this is to say, I’m quoting Shakespeare at you because I am without a doubt in love with you… And if Asmo tells me to tell you one more time I might have to strangle him.” You chuckled at the end of that, but smiled up at Solomon.
Solomon chuckled too. “Yeah, he can be a bit persistent, can’t he? MC, you didn’t have to do all of this for me. A simple ‘I love you’ text would’ve sufficed.”
You shook your head. “No way. You deserve big dramatic gestures of love. So now that we have that established, can we have the classic kiss in the rain?”
Solomon was about to say yes when lightening struck a tree not too far away from you guys. “Maybe we should skip that and go inside.”
You hurriedly nod and follow him into Purgatory Hall.
Not so unfortunately, you and Solomon got sick and spent the week together. You could’ve probably used magic to make things better, but where was the fun in that?

If I Loved You Less
MC x Solomon Warnings: Fluff Word Count: 1,218
A/N: Wow! I finally got the will to write again! It's probably a bit OOC but whatever. I still think it's cute. I promise I have other stories planned that aren't just for Solomon. I will write about another character eventually.
You and Solomon had gotten yourselves into quite the situation, and you blame Satan. Well, not really, but it was you thinking of him that got you into this mess.
You had seen a book while at a little store Solomon took you to. It looked old and probably cursed. Sounded perfect for Satan. He’d love it! The only problem was it was on the top shelf and you couldn’t find anyone to help you grab it down. So of course, like the smart person you are, you tried to climb the shelf. It looked like it was connected to the wall, so you thought it was stable enough. And it worked for a minute.
“MC, what are you doing up there?” Solomon had asked with a sly grin.
That was all it took to startle you and cause you to fall backwards, still holding the book. Solomon caught you, and then suddenly, you were no longer in the store, which brings you back up to speed.
“Solomon… Where the hell are we, because it isn’t the Devildom.” You stared at the sky through the trees, which was bright blue with the sun in the sky.
Solomon was busy studying one of the trees you had appeared by. “Well, I can confirm this place is real, not an illusion.”
“Well, we should go try to find our way out of here before night falls. Which direction should we go?” You asked, looking around. It was just trees every direction you looked.
Solomon shrugged and started walking. “I have a feeling we should go this way.”
It didn’t take long before you came across a small cabin. “Should we knock and see if anyone’s home to help?” You asked. For some reason, you felt drawn to the cabin.
Without answering you, Solomon walked right up and knocked on the door, but it swung right open. “I take it nobody is home.”
“Solomon, be careful. It might be a trap!”
“Don’t worry MC. I don’t sense any magic in here. And this looks like our only chance at some sort of safety in this forest. It can’t be that bad.” With that, Solomon walked into the cabin. You stayed outside, nervous for him. “MC, come take a look at this,” Solomon called from inside the cabin.
You cautiously walked into the cabin and over to the kitchen counter that Solomon was standing by. There was a piece of paper on the counter. There were three quotes written on the paper, both of which you recognized.
The first read, “Whatever our souls are made out of, his and mine are the same...If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.” Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Strangely, this was exactly how you feel about Solomon.
The second read, “As I got to know you, I began to realise that beauty was the least of your qualities. I became fascinated by your goodness. I was drawn in by it. I didn’t understand what was happening to me. And it was only when I began to feel actual, physical pain every time you left the room that it finally dawned on me: I was in love, for the first time in my life.” Dangerous Liasions by Choderlos de Laclos. You didn’t know it, but this was exactly how Solomon felt about you.
The third read, “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.” Emma by Jane Austen.
After reading the three quotes, you turned to look at Solomon. He looked like he was studying the paper and the quotes intently. He had the paper in one hand, and with his other he was holding his chin. A soft smile crossed your face.
Solomon looked up at you. “I am guessing the book you were grabbing in the store was cursed and when I touched you while you were holding the book, it transported us here. This is a clue about how to get home, is my best guess. The book is clearly one that has love as a theme. Now we just need to figure out what it wants for us to go home.”
You guys spent days at that cabin trying to determine what should have been obvious to you both. But it was nice, this slice of domesticity with Solomon.
There was only one bed in the cabin so you two had to share. You enjoyed waking up everyday to his sleeping face with his arm around your waist. He always looked so peaceful in his sleep. As if there wasn’t anything troubling him. But why would there be? He was sleeping next to the only person he truly trusts and he has them in his arms.
You avoided Solomon cooking for you by asking him to work on figuring out the paper. But getting to cook things for Solomon was nice. And somehow, the cabin always had the ingredients for exactly what you wanted to cook. The two of you washing dishes next to each other was comforting in a way.
Slowly, over the week, you guys stopped paying as close attention to the meaning of the paper, enjoying just living in each other’s company and getting a break from the outside world. That was, until Solomon made a horrible joke.
“God, that was awful Solomon. You’re lucky I love you.” The words just came out without you thinking about them.
“MC… Did you just-” Solomon cut himself off. “That’s it… That’s the third quote.”
“What’s the third- oh… Oh.”
You and Solomon look at each other. “The second quote, it’s how I-”
You cut Solomon off. “The first quote, it’s how I feel about you too.”
“I think the book wants us to stop dancing around our feelings and finally admit we love each other.” Solomon was looking at you. His gaze was intense but soft at the same time. You didn’t know how he could do that.
“I think you’re right… So I’ll go first. Solomon, I am completely, unequivocally in love with you. Your turn.”
Solomon hesitated. “MC… Could you be happy here with me?” Solomon didn’t want to go home. He didn’t want all of your time to be taken up by the brothers and the royals again. He wanted a world where you were happy and with him.
“Yes, I could… But Solomon, we don’t belong here.”
“Could we just stay a little longer? I just want you to be happy with me for a little longer.” Solomon almost looked vulnerable.
You gave him a small, soft smile. “Solomon, I could be happy with you anywhere. Let’s go home.”
Solomon nodded, a smile crossing his face. “MC, you have my whole heart. I love you too.”
There was a flash of light and you were back in the store, in Solomon’s arms and holding the book.
“Remind me to not just randomly touch cursed looking books next time. As great as that was, we’re lucky we didn’t end up inside out or something.”
You laughed, looking up at him. He smiled and leaned his head down to kiss you. Yeah, you were gonna keep this book for yourself.

A Night Off
MC x Solomon
Warnings: None
Word Count: 814
MC has the night off from being the brothers' attendant. Solomon is excited to spend some time with them.
It was another one of those nights where the brothers didn’t need anything from you as their attendant. You got to go back home to Cocytus hall fairly early in the night, much to Solomon’s delight.
“MC! We should cook dinner and dessert and watch a movie together!”
You try to hide the grimace at the thought of another Solomon meal. You’ve been letting him cook because he always seems so excited to cook for you and he did follow you into the past just to help you after all. Seeing his sad face would just make you feel guilty.
“Yeah! What were you thinking movie wise?” You weren’t sure you even wanted to know what Solomon had planned for dinner. And dessert seemed like a recipe for disaster.
“You can choose.”
You sighed and tried to find a Devildom movie to watch. You ended up settling on some comedy about a new young demon trying to get used to life as a demon. It sounded good at least.
“MC! You should come help with dinner,” Solomon called from the kitchen.
You walk in and peer into the pot on the stove. You weren’t quite sure anything edible should be that color. And the smell was… something else. “What’re you making?”
“I’m trying something new. I’m hoping for stew with a twist.” Solomon added something you knew shouldn’t go in a stew.
You wanted to stop him and try to save this mess. You’re sure you could. Maybe adding a few- No. Solomon’s cooking is what you’re having. “It looks… interesting.”
Solomon brought a spoon full of the “stew” up to his mouth and tried some, frowning slightly. “Would you like to try some MC? I feel like it’s missing something and I can’t quite figure out what.”
You smiled, hoping it didn’t look like the grimace you wanted to give. “Yeah, I can try to add my input.”
Solomon brought the spoon to your mouth and you tried some. Why did it taste like what you’d imagine actual lava to taste like? You gave him an unsure smile. “I don’t know what could be missing. Maybe add some salt? Or um… Yeah, I have nothing.”
Solomon thought for a moment before adding some sort of root that you were confident was sweet and would not at all change the flavor for the better. Honestly, there was no hope for the so-called stew. But you weren’t going to say anything. You watched as Solomon brought the spoon up to his mouth again and then smiled. “Perfect!”
You smiled nervously as you brought out the bowls and spoons. Solomon dished up the “stew” and brought the bowls to the table while you brought over two cups of Demonus.
After sitting down, Solomon watched as you took a bite. “So, how is it?”
Well, the root definitely did something to the lava flavor. It now somehow tasted like lava that is surrounding a tree. You looked at Solomon and tried your best to smile. “I definitely think that the root you added enhanced the flavor. You’re a very… creative chef.”
“Thank you MC. For dessert I want to try and make caramel corn. It’ll be my first time.”
“How exciting!” You feared for your life.
You both finished your dinner quickly and cleaned up so Solomon had room to make the caramel. It started out normal and how you thought it should go. You actually had hope. Foolish foolish MC.
“Do you think water would kill it?” Solomon asked, trying to fight off the caramel monster that was going after him. He had the lid for the pot in one and as a shield and the spoon in the other for his weapon. You looked at the creature Solomon had created. Solomon hadn’t even put that big of a quantity of his ingredients in. How was it so big? It was about the size of a Little D.
You brought out your DDD and snapped a picture of Solomon wide eyed as the caramel monster jumped at him. It became your home screen. “Water might do it? I mean, it melts sugar so maybe?” You looked towards the sink. The monster was between both of you and the sink.
“Okay, I’ll distract it while you get some water.” Solomon made a face at the monster and then ran as it started chasing him.
You ran and filled a pot full of water and added some dish soap for good measure. When Solomon ran towards you, you threw the soapy water at the creature and watched in relief as it melted away. You turned to Solomon and then bursted out laughing.
“Well, that was an experience!” Solomon started laughing too.
You never got around to watching the movie. You had to spend the rest of the evening cleaning up the caramel trails and splatters from the monster.

A Simple Spell
MC x Solomon
Warnings: Fluff
Word Count: 622
MC struggles with a spell they think should be easy.
It was supposed to be a simple spell. Summon a book from the human world. That’s all Solomon asked you to do. And theoretically you could do it. You’ve summoned a book while in the Devildom. How is this any different? That’s what you were thinking anyways. The reality of it was that you couldn’t get it down.
“Sol, I swear, if this happens one more time I’m going to lose it,” You huff. You both are soaking wet from head to toe and you’re trying to pry off the fifth octopus you’ve accidentally summoned instead of a book.
Solomon, of course, finds this hilarious. He doesn’t even bother to hide his laughter. “I must say, this is quite the interesting result. To summon an octopus each time instead of a book is something I can’t say I’ve witnessed before. It’s definitely not something I expected from you. However, why an octopus? Should I be taking this as a sign?”
This manages to get a chuckle out of you. You know of Solomon’s dislike of the ocean. “Maybe it’s my subconscious saying something… But what am I doing wrong? I swear I’m saying the incantation correctly. Am I emphasizing the wrong word or something?”
Solomon shakes his head. “You’re hesitating. Here, do it like this.” He holds out his hand and says the incantation, not hesitating on a single word. A book appears in his hand. His book. The one he wrote about fish.
You want to laugh at that but you’re also frustrated. “I don’t feel like I’m hesitating though. I’m saying the words without pausing.”
“Just try it again.”
So you do. You hold out your hand and say the incantation. Once again there is a splash of water that falls down on the both of you and an octopus that attaches itself to your arm. You let out a groan as you feel the octopus wrap its tentacles around your arm. “I’m never going to get this!”
“MC, you can’t give up. You’re still managing to summon something which is good,” Solomon says as he starts to help unwrap the tentacles surrounding your arm. “You’re still hesitating with a couple of the words.”
You let out a sigh and shake your head. “Solomon, I don’t feel like I’m hesitating. I don’t know what to do.” You continue to help him get the octopus off your arm.
When he finally gets it off, he sets it in the tank with the others. He looks at you and puts a finger under your chin, tipping your head up so you’re looking in his eyes.
“MC, you’re hesitating on three of the harder words. Do you doubt you can say them if you don’t think them through first?”
You let out a small breath. “Well… It’s just… They’re words I don’t know and have never had to say before. I don’t want to say them wrong and have something catastrophic happen like the illusion spell.”
Solomon chuckles when you bring up that incident. “MC, you won’t mess it up. You know the words. I know you do. Try again, but this time just say the words. Don’t worry about saying them wrong.”
You close your eyes and take a deep breath before opening them and holding out your hand again. This time you say the incantation you just say the words without thinking about them. You close your eyes, expecting a splash and an octopus, but instead a book plops into your hand.
Your eyes widen in excitement. “Solomon, I did it! I got the book!”
Solomon grins and ruffles your hair. “See?”
You set the book down and smile at him. “Thanks for the help.”
“Anything for you, my adorable apprentice.”

A lot of this is just going to be self indulgent fics, headcannons, or drabbles because my brain never stops coming up with ideas and I want to write them down.
Commissions are open! Go to my Ko-Fi or DM me on tumblr if you want one! Here's my tumblr post with more information!
Requests are currently closed as I have a bunch of ideas I want to write down first, but once I don't have 20 million ideas in my head, they'll be open!
