I opened the door to Landoâs apartment with my key. I set my bag down and took my shoes off. Knowing Iâd be staying for a while.
âLanâ I said. âIn the kitchenâ Lando said. âOh hello are you filmingâ I said. âYeah a quadrant video I meant to text youâ Lando said. âAll good I had a major McLaren meeting soâ I said. âNo way is that the Y/N in the fleshâ Ginge said. âGingeâ I said.
âGuys Iâm shaking Landoâs girl in personâ Ginge said I laughed. âItâs nice to officially meet youâ I said shaking his hand. âDonât worry I wonât try to take your man yetâ Ginge said. âOh you wonât even get a tryâ I said. âOh shit she is a bit scary huhâ Ginge said.
âSo.. Iâll let you guys film then because I am not eating whatever he eats for breakfastâ I said. âWhat she doesnât have to eat itâ Ginge said. âShe shouldâ lando said. âNo thanks I had a bagel earlierâ I said going to sit on the couch.

I got up off the couch. I then saw Lando and Ginge working out. I stood in the doorway.
âHave her try the head pull thingyâ Ethan said.âI think she does that with Lando off cameraâ Ginge said. âOh my godâ I said laughing. âJeez mateâ Lando said. âWhat we know you doâ Ginge said.
âWhatâs nextâ I said. âUhh landos turnâ Ethan said. âI wanna see you guys pull him Iâm intriguedâ I said sitting on the floor. âAs long as you do it tooâ Lando said. âFineâ I said. Ginge went first and pulled Lando. âMy god heâs not even flinchingâ Ginge said.
âIt feels quite niceâ Lando said I laughed. âReally your weird mateâ Ginge said. Ethan then did it. âCome on slow and hardâ Ginge said. I laughed. âOh be quiet over there with your dirty mindâ Ethan said. âI didnât say anything yetâ I said.

Ethan the pulled the bands back. âWhat the heck so you even feel thatâ Ethan said. âIt just feels niceâ Lando said. âAlright your turnâ Ethan said I got up. âCome on babyâ Lando said. âI have like no musclesâ I said. âYou got it loveâ Lando said. I pulled it a little bit.

We then went to eat some lunch.
âThis is like rabbit foodâ Ginge said. âI just want some pizzaâ I said. âDonât start pizza sounds goodâ Lando said. After we finished eating we went to show Ginge and Ethan around Monaco.
âIâm getting shotgun by the wayâ I said. âUghhh fineâ Ginge said getting in the backseat with Ethan. âSo how long have you two been datingâ Ethan asked. As Lando drove.
âUhhh like a year almost twoâ I said. âMet her at McLaren well I kinda knew of her beforeâ Lando said. âOh reallyâ Ginge said. âI worked at Willamâs with George but I wasnât very socialâ I said. âReally you not socialâ Ethan said.
âUghhh I guess I was just anxious about making friendsâ I said. âBut then I did make friends and got a new jobâ I said. âI guess I brought out her fun side as she saysâ Lando said. âThatâs niceâ Ethan said. âWell you two do seem perfect but Iâm still jealousâ Ginge said.
âHeâs mine Gingeâ I said. âYou win you winâ Ginge said jokingly. âHope everyone is hungryâ Lando said. We all ate dinner and shared stories. I sat beside Lando. âDesert was so goodâ Ginge said. âYou two go out every night or noâ Ethan asked.
âNot too often itâs quite expensiveâ I said. Lando then licked the plate clean. âOh my godâ Ginge said. âDamn I really wish I was that plate right nowâ I said. Everyone laughed. âOh my and she says sheâs shyâ Ethan said. Lando just looked at me all red.
âWhatâ I said looking at Lando. âYou got him all flusteredâ Ginge said. âYou can be the plate laterâ Lando said. âOh lordâ Ethan said. âGet these two love birds a roomâ Ginge said. âOh Iâll get one later onâ Lando said. âLordâ I said.
âYou two are perfect honestly with those out of pocket thingsâ Ginge said. âOh I knowâ Lando said. After we dropped them off we went back to our apartment. I kicked my shoes off and attempted to lay on the couch.
But Lando grabbed my arm.
âYou wanted to be the plate so badlyâ Lando said. âI still doâ I said. âSo come on thenâ Lando said leading me to our room.

We watched the race begin. Lando was moving up positions a little bit. He then came over the radio at one point.
âHi lily baby I love youâ Lando said over the radio. She smiled. âI love youâ she said back. he laughed. We kept watching. But I saw Lando hit something and spin off. So I quickly covered Lilyâs eyes. Zak tried to stand in front so she wouldnât see.
âLando are you okayâ Dave said over the radio and he said nothing. I teared up. Please be okay. We need you. âLando are you okayâ Dave repeated. â.. ahh.. Yeah Iâm .. okayâ Lando said.
âMommy whatâs going onâ Lily said. âDaddy spun off itâs okayâ I said. âDaddy are you okayâ Lily said. âIâm okay baby itâs alrightâ Lando said. We then waited for Lando to come back to the garage.
They wanted to get him checked out just to be safe. So he got up in the ambulance.
âMommy is daddy okayâ Lily said. âYeah come on Lilyâ Lando said. We got into the ambulance and went to the hospital. Lando held her hand the whole way there. She was a little bit nervous.
Later on..
Lando got checked out and everything was okay. We waited in the room at the hospital. Lily had fallen asleep with her head on my lap.
âShe didnât see that rightâ Lando said. âNo.. I covered her eyesâ I said. âI was just worried about her and youâ he said. âI was so worried tooâ I said. âIt was scary even more so knowing she was watchingâ Lando said. âYeahâ I said softly as Lily snored. Lando chuckled.

There I was in his hotel room again. Looking up at the ceiling wondering why I kept doing this. I tried to stop myself but I couldnât help it. He was addicting in every single way. Like a good song on the radio. Or your favorite tv show. Charles Leclerc was addicting.
âAre you still awakeâ Charles asked softly rolling over to look at me. âJust canât sleepâ I said as he pulled me closer. âCome hereâ Charles said. âI thought you were asleepâ I said. âI sleep better next to you nowâ Charles said I snuggled up to his chest. âDo youâ I said he kissed my forehead.

âYes you know I doâ Charles said. We both finally fell asleep. We knew what this was just friends and coworkers with benefits. Despite me wanting more but never saying so. I knew how this would end and so would he.

I watched as he did a couple interviews. Of course theyâd ask more personal questions too. Rather than the car or our team. But we both knew we wanted our relationship a secret. Plus everyone just thought we were best friends. Which we were but behind the scenes it was more.
âSo Charles is there anyone special in your lifeâ the interviewer asked. I stood behind them. âYeah.. Iâd say soâ Charles said with a smile. âWhatâs she likeâ the interviewer asked. âSheâs⌠incredibly perfect in every single wayâ Charles said.
âI really ⌠well this is a bit awkward I donât really talk about her much in front of camerasâ Charles said. I looked at him and smiled. âItâs alright she must be pretty specialâ the interviewer said. âShe is very special to meâ Charles said.
Later..
Charles and I walked to his car. We both got in and he drove back to his apartment. We finally made it up to his apartment.
âIâm so tiredâ I said laying on the couch as soon as we walked in the door. âWhat if I wanted to show you somethingâ Charles said. âIâm sleepingâ I said jokingly. âSure you areâ Charles said. âAlright whatâ I said. âComeâ Charles said taking my hand.
He then lead me to his piano. We both sat down on the bench. âOkay char whatâ I said. âI just wanna play you somethingâ Charles said as he started to play the piano. I rested my head on his shoulder as he played. He looked at me and smiled then continued to play.
âItâs very beautifulâ I said. âYou think soâ Charles said. âYeah itâs prettyâ I said. âI uhhh wrote it for youâ Charles said I smiled. âOhâ I said. âIs that weird orâ Charles asked. âNoâ I said kissing him. âOh so I have to write you song to get kissesâ Charles said.

We then walked the track together. Lando and Oscar were in front of us.

I left the drivers room first fixing my hair. Charles followed a little while later. He looked at me with a wink as I went to talk to Carlos.

(A year before)
I looked over at Carlos at Mercedes as I helped Charles get ready. It hurt to see him with another team. But there was nothing I could do.
âAre you okayâ Charles asked. âIâm good cars looking goodâ I said. âIâm more worried about you than the car cheriâ Charles said putting a hand on my shoulder. âIâll be alrightâ I said sitting at my desk. âIf you say soâ Charles said getting in his car. I watched as Carlos got into his car.
I smiled at him as he waved. We hadnât talked much in a while. Sure we went out on a date. But we had different schedules we werenât as close anymore. I hated it. I also hated that everyone at Ferrari besides Lewis and Charles didnât want me there.
Maybe it was time for me to make a change too. After a while of being at Ferrari it was time to go somewhere else. Somewhere that I will be treated better.
âReady for the raceâ Charles said. âYeah Iâm sure we will winâ I said. âOf course we will Iâve got the best engineerâ Charles said.
(Present time)
I walked into the Audi paddock. I had already met one of the drivers. Which was Alex Albon. I had known him for years. I was waiting for the next driver to show up to the garage.
As I heard footsteps come in I immediately saw his face. There he was Carlos Sainz still as breathtaking as ever. I missed being around him. I missed everything about him. After he left we werenât as close anymore. But now here he is. Standing right in front of me and Iâm speechless.
âY/Nâ Carlos said. I ran over and hugged him. âIâve missed you so muchâ I said he hugged me tightly. âYouâre my engineerâ Carlos said with a smile. âYeah I saw they needed oneâ I said. âI had no idea youâd be my engineer but Iâm so glad you areâ Carlos said. âIâm glad youâre the second driverâ I said he smiled.
âYou look incredibleâ Carlos said. âYou do too the hair looksâ I said he laughed. âSo they tell me youâve helped design a beautiful carâ Carlos said. âThat I didâ I said. âWell doneâ Carlos said looking at it.
âI just helped I didnât do everythingâ I said. âItâs still a great designâ Carlos said looking at the blueprints with me. âYeah itâs gonna be fastâ I said. âGood we will for sure win championships in thisâ he said putting an arm around me.

I began to say but he pulled me into a kiss. I immediately kissed him back. It was like nothing had changed from two years ago. It felt perfect. Pure fireworks. I missed it.

Summary: You are Carlos race engineer and just got the news of him leaving Ferrari. But you wish he told you rather than you finding out on instagram. So you go to confront him at the car testing. This is also a bit inspired by say donât go by Taylor Swift.
Your POV
I had learned of Carlosâs departure from ferrai through a post by ferrai and f1. I had no idea he was going to be leaving at the end of this season. It hurt me to know he couldnât tell me. Especially since Iâm race engineer. I thought he was staying.
I walked into the paddock. Charles greeted me as I walked into the garage. I smiled and made my way over to my desk. Carlos walked up.
âSo the car looks goodâ Carlos said I ignored him. âWhatâ Carlos said. I walked away. I then walked over to the car. âIâm just trying to talk to my race engineerâ Carlos said I rolled my eyes.
[ I hold my breath a bit little longerâŚ]
âFunny that Iâm the last one to find out you are leaving ferraiâ I said. âIs that what this is aboutâ Carlos said. âYes it is do you not trust me enough or somethingâ I said. âI really donât understand Carlosâ I said as everyone looked at us.
He took me into an empty meeting room. And shut the door. I just looked at him.
âI know I shouldâve told you Iâm really sorryâ Carlos said. âCarlos I just donât get you I thought we were friendsâ I said. âWe are I just didnât want to see the look on your faceâ Carlos said. âWhat lookâ I said. âThe way youâre looking at me now with youâre sad eyesâ Carlos said.

âIâm so sorry for caring thenâ I said. âYou think I wanted this I didnâtâ Carlos said. âI.. really donât wanna do thisâ Carlos said cupping my cheek. âDonât do thatâ I said. âI hope you know I care about you so muchâ Carlos said I got teary eyed.
âPlease donât do thatâ I said. âI⌠know I shouldâve told you about me leavingâ Carlos said. âPlease donâtâ I said moving his hand. âY/N please listen to meâ Carlos said. âWhy should Iâ I said. âBecause Iâ Carlos said. I then grabbed my stuff off the table. But he grabbed my arm and stopped me from leaving.
âDonât goâ Carlos said. âWe have work to doâ I said. âBut I need to talk to youâ Carlos said. âCarlos I get it you are leavingâ I said. âPlease let me explainâ Carlos said. âNoâ I said turning to face him. âY/N I canât bare to have you so upset with meâ Carlos said.
âCarlos youâll move on to another team and Iâm be hereâ I said. âEventually youâll forget about me they all doâ I said. âHow could I forget youâ Carlos said. âJust make it easier for yourself and leave me aloneâ I said looking away from him.
He then made me look up at him. I looked deep into his brown eyes.
âWhy did you have to make me want youâ Carlos said. âWhatâ I said. âI love you Y/N I always haveâ Carlos said. I just looked at him and didnât say anything to him.

I then walked out of the door. And went back to my desk. Carlos walked over to his car. He didnât even look at me.
âCars running goodâ Charles said. âThatâs greatâ I said. âAre you okay you look like you were cryingâ Charles asked. âJust my allergies I thinkâ I said. âWell if you need someone to talk to Iâm hereâ Charles said. âThanks but Iâm alright Charâ I said. âAlright Iâll let you get back to workâ Charles said walking away.
Later on..
I grabbed my bag and walked to my car. Carlos stood up against it. I rolled my eyes and walked over.
âWhatâ I said he then pulled me into a kiss. âCarlosâ I said. âJust let meâ he said I then kissed him back. He wrapped his arms around my waist. I circled my arms around his neck.
[âcause you kiss me and it stops timeâ]
âYou have no idea how much I love youâ Carlos said. âIâm so sorry I didnât tell you anything I couldnâtâ Carlos said. âI just canât picture you driving anywhere elseâ I said teary eyed. âOh amour thatâs not going to change anything between usâ Carlos said. âYou promiseâ I said.
âI promise you I will always be by your side even if we donât work togetherâ Carlos said. âCan you say it againâ I said with a smile. âI love you Y/N all of you every single thing about youâ he said I smiled. âEven all of your imperfections not that you have anyâ Carlos said I laughed.

A little while laterâŚ
After the race I walked to my car. But Charles was standing beside it. I could tell he looked angry. I still walked over to him anyways.
âIs it trueâ Charles asked. âRed Bullâ I asked. âYes is it trueâ Charles said. âWhy do you care so muchâ I said putting my bag in my trunk. âI thought we talked about thisâ Charles said. âNo you thought you decided for meâ I said.
âDonât act like thatâ Charles said. âLike what maybe I wanted to better my careerâ I said shutting my trunk. âCome on now donât lie to meâ Charles said. âWhat you just donât wanna hear itâ I said. âSo youâre leaving after everything weâve builtâ Charles said.
âMore like everything that you built Iâm just a race engineerâ I said. âYou and I both know thatâs not trueâ Charles said looking at me. âDonât pretend to actually care about meâ I said. âWhat is this I thought we had a great night.. the other nightâ Charles said.
âA great night wow you just kissed meâ I said. âYeah I did kiss you thatâs not all it wasâ Charles said upset. âIâll never be one of your girlsâ I said. âWhat did you sayâ he said grabbing my wrist. âIâll never be good enough for you face itâ I said. âWhat makes you think thatâ Charles said.
âIâll never be the one you want there will always be someone betterâ I said teary eyed. âDonât say thatâ Charles said cupping my cheeks. âStop just stopâ I said teary eyed. âWhy are you doing thisâ Charles said. âDonât pretendâ I said. âI donât understand what I didâ Charles said.
âPlease leave me aloneâ I said. âI canât do thatâ Charles said wiping my tears. âJust let me goâ I said. âNo Iâm not letting you goâ Charles said. âCharles..â I said looking into his eyes. âPlease.. please just tell me whatâs wrongâ he said resting his head against mine.
âI.. canâtâ I said softly. âJust let me inâ Charles said. âIâm sorryâ I said. âBut you canât leave me at Ferrari like thatâ Charles said. âI have tooâ I said. âWhat do you mean you have tooâ Charles said. âYouâll be fine without meâ I said stepping away from him.
âNo I wonât beâ Charles said. âI need to do this I canât be thereâ I said. âScrew Carlos is this why your making this decisionâ Charles said angrily. âYou know what I made this choice for meâ I said looking at him. âYou and I both know thatâs not whyâ Charles said. âThere you go assuming you knowâ I said.
âI donât understand you I really donâtâ Charles said. âThen leave me alone Charles I donât careâ I said yelling. âWhatever if thatâs what you want Iâm doneâ Charles said. âThen goâ I said yelling. âJust leave like everyone doesâ I said.
âOkayâ Charles said softly. I then left the paddock driving back to my place. I just cried the whole way home. I couldnât believe I let Carlos do all of this. But I needed to protect Charles.
All of the sudden I saw a car following me closely. They they quickly passed me and stopped in front of me. I stopped my car. I realized who it was. So I got out of my car.
âWhat the hell are you doing Charles I couldnât crashedâ I said walking over to his Ferrari. âHelloâ I said as he stepped out of his car. âShut upâ Charles said kissing me. âWhat are you doingâ I said. âIâm not letting you go this timeâ Charles said.
âYou almost made me crashâ I said. âIâm sorry⌠I just canât stay done with youâ Charles said. âI couldnât let you leave like thatâ Charles said. âI donât get youâ I said. âBut I get youâ Charles said. âDonât push me awayâ he said. âCharles..â I said he kissed me again. âShhhâ he said still kissing me.
âWe should move our cars out of the roadâ I said he laughed. âYeah probablyâ Charles said. âYour crazy you knowâ I said. âSometimes people make you do crazy thingsâ Charles said.
