Catch 22 by GhostlyHauntings

For those of you “staying away” because you think the writer is a pedophile: This story is all about the negative consequences of an abusive relationship.

The writer purposefully pairs Beetlejuice and Lydia from the cartoon in order to TEACH about child grooming, manipulation, gaslighting, and rape within relationships. 

Got triggers revolving those things? This WILL trigger you. It triggered me and I avidly read all the updates because I need Lydia to come out strong and better for it. It’s healing.

If you IGNORE your triggers, you will never grow to understand others or YOURSELF. 

Stop hiding behind your “altruistic causes.” You’re just scared. That’s okay, but it’s not okay to hate someone for telling an ACCURATE depiction of abuse. 

Read this story and maybe you’ll recognize the signs of abuse so you can AVOID the actual predators out there.

Awww!!  You’re the sweetest!!  LOVE YA BABES!

Fanfics and hcs written by beetlebabes who were kids in the 80s and 90s about the cartoon may as well be canon. I have read some fics and seen some hcs that make me think we have the artists from the show anonymously sharing with us!

We had a lot of people in this fandom over the last three decades. All the respect to those who held the fandom together before social media. One of those lovely babes is still here and still creating content. You can find her here on tumblr under @venture-someplace-scary and on Ao3 under GhostlyHauntings (Love ya, Ghostly!)

If you are new to the fandom I recommend checking out Beetlejuice on Fanlore … especially the toon and movie pages. Oh and the fandom timeline! (lots of hard work went into these pages)

I have to tell you, I adore those old headcanons that have become well-known fanons. My favorite one is Beetlejuice being a poltergeist. I know demon is more common now but I have a soft spot for poltergeist. Though I know many folks who prefer him being a regular ghost or even a psychopomp.

As for having secret animators or writers…. Well, I cant say for sure but I do know one babe who has made friends on the production side of the cartoon. If we do have any fandom people who worked on any production, I imagine they would like to stat anonymous.

Holy smokes, peeps!  I’ve been reading a cute little Cartoon Beetlejuice Verse fic, and I have to say the writer has an amazing grasp on the characters.  I just wish it was finished, but it was recently updated, so I’m hopeful for more soon enough.
