When you think about national parks, do you imagine majestic mountains, towering forests, vibrant wetlands or vast canyons? How about sand dunes? Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve in Colorado often gets visitors whose first comments are, “I had no idea this existed.” A combination of opposing winds, a huge supply of sand from ancient dry lakebeds and the sand recycling action of several creeks helped create the tallest dunes in North America. There are other dunes in the U.S., but none as tall and none as dramatic. Photo by Patrick Myers, National Park Service.

We are not rich by what we have, but what beauty and wonder we’ve had the privilege to endure. We are rich in the Love we have been given, the sights we’ve seen, the knowledge we have gathered.. for that also is what makes one wise, and that is the richest you can be.

How calm a lake can be on a warm summer night as the setting sun sends the sky into a blaze of fiery orange and fuchsia, soon to fall into a deep indigo as the stars start to appear and worlds lights turn off, only being lit by the now bright white moon.

Like the flowers; we love to be living radiantly with the sun, glowing, and feeling unstoppable. That doesn’t last forever though, life is a cycle of ups and downs. If we never had our downs, never lost our petals, our bright colors never dulled, never had our lows and bad times, would we ever really appreciate our very highest moments? Would we every experience happiness, excitement, relief? Would we instead be stuck inside a constant medium? Would that satisfy you? Just something to remember next time you’ve reached a low point in your life, society teaches you every high has a low, but they forget to tell you every low has to come up, too.

Have you ever been lost? In your thoughts or even in physical reality, maybe even both. Sometimes we go through life so quickly, we forget how we got there. Let’s all take a moment to slow down, be mindful of where you are, where you’ve been, and where you are going. Cherish those moments, those thoughts, good and bad. Use those moments to find out who exactly you are. Do you like that person? Or is there something you’d like to change? Do you want to be someone else going forward? Well tomorrow is a new day, don’t rush to get there, but take advantage of every moment so you can get there and be happy with who you are when you do.

Your body is your temple, your garden. So make sure to always provide it with nutrients to keep it growing, water to keep it hydrated, sun to make it flourish with bright beautiful color, and also something we don’t think to do much, give it some kind words to let it know it’s doing a great job. With that we will have a beautiful, healthy, glowing body with the confidence to conquer any obstacles life throws.

There’s so much more to this earth than we realize, so much more meaning to the bright orange sunsets and crystal blue waters that meets our eyes, or the crip smells of leaves and even not so pleasant smell of yellow pollen. One of God’s many ways of giving us signs, as we see in scripture is through nature. Look further than what your eyes can see. Open up all your senses to take in the richness of the earth. Maybe you’ll even get a sign yourself, that you may have been looking for. With that being said, we never want to depend on a sign but always have better faith in the man above. Trust in the one that has brought and created such beauty for you, and created you with such beauty.

Some people see an ordinary sunset, while others see a painted sky with a horizon of warm vibrant oranges and peaches fading into a soft winded blue with a lavender and gray splash of clouds. God is a wonderful artist.
What do you see?

I like to take every chance I get to escape the worldly chaos to see all the beauty nature life has to offer. Like this beautiful view that was sent to me by my love. What does it really take to free your mind? My answer is nature, but honestly it takes more than that. You have to be in sync, be willing to take in the beauty God has given to you through his creation and use it to change your mindset, even if just for a little while. Find yourself in sync more often, and I hope for you that it becomes a lifestyle, and you find yourself with a more constant peace; and more appreciative of Gods beautiful creation. Maybe even find yourself walking a little closer with him.

It eases my mind to be surrounded by such beauty. To know that God is real and created this beautiful earth for us, created us for this beautiful earth.
