something that really frustrates me is people who decide they know how autistic you are or is you really “count”

i was at an event yesterday and one of the younger kids mom was there telling a small group of us that one of them was really overstimulated and was having a moment outside before getting all hush and asking if we all knew the person had autism and we were like yea we did and me and my friend were like we’re also autistic so we get it and the women cut us off and said no this person is ACTUALLY autistic and started telling us about how their brother is a nonverbal adult so they are REALLY autistic

there’s no real point to this post it was just really uncomfortable and rubbed me the wrong way, this woman didn’t know me and my friend in the slightest besides hearing about us from her actual daughter and she just decided she knew us better medically then we did and it was really gross
