Church Adventures
Church has opened back up here in Georgia and it truly is a delight! Praise and worship at my local parish was filled with the delightful drumming, guitar playing, and tambourine banging of the music ministry, which uplifted me to the holiest of moods. Coincidentally, I also felt the need to return to this blog!! What a treat!

Maundy Thursday is one of the many days of Holy Week, leading up till Easter. This day commemorates the giving of a new commandment (mandatum in latin) to His apostles. This Maundy Thursday is also when Lent ends! I gave up chocolate for Lent. What about you?

Happy Palm Sunday!!
Happy Palm Sunday everyone! Today we celebrate one of the many holidays packed into Lent. This one celebrates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. It was said He entered on a donkey, and the donkey walked on a path of palm leaves, thus the name for the day. God bless you all!! <3

Good news!! The friend’s fever is totally gone!!! Holy Spirit: 1 Demons: 0
One of my friends had a fever, so I cast a spell on them to drive out unholy demons. A little bit afterwards, the fever got better!! I think the Holy Spirit’s backing me up this pandemic season.

That “Motherland: Fort Salem” show seems pretty dumb. Not only were witches actively persecuted by the United States, but the United States military is a horrific organization no good witch would join.

The Importance of Salt in Witchcraft
Tumblr media
In witchcraft, as in biology, you cannot survive without the use of salt. Salt is the ultimate purifying agent, and it has extensive ritual and spell usages that every single magick-using culture has come to recognise and use. Everything from Terry Pratchett to Supernatural has used salt in their work related to magic lore, and this is because it’s extremely common in real-world customs, traditions and rituals.
Important Witchy Facts About Salt!
Salt is a cleanser. Salt is used when we cast circles and bless items; it is used when Sumo wrestlers purify the ring before a fight; it is used when a kitchen witch scrubs down their tabletop; it is used when a Christian priest wishes to cast out demons; it is used when a butcher wants to kill germs. Salt is the ultimate cleansing agent, killing not just microbes but malicious or negative magicks, holding them at bay and driving them out.
Salt is a barrier. Salt lines around doors, windows, beds and even houses have been used for thousands of years as methods of driving back dark forces and keeping bad spirits at bay. Negative magick and bad spirits cannot cross a line of salt, and often touching it is said to be enough to kill them (or at least burn them). Scattering salt grains before a fae will force the fae to stoop to count every single grain, because they’re a bit obsessive and can’t leave it alone.
Salt is cheap and safe. This is actually pretty important, because whilst some magickal items (like candles, pentagrams and athames) are kind of indisputably witchy, salt is not only cheap, safe and generally useful, it’s also something that you HAVE to have because humans NEED salt to survive. So, for those secret witches who might live at home with unaccepting parents, or in a country that does not permit witchcraft, it might be the only tool you can always have access to that won’t be questioned.
Salt is versatile. You can use salt in all kinds of different rituals and practices, everything from cleansing a circle to blessing a wand to calling down a curse. Salt is something that has many potent ritual properties, and it’s an essential part of almost all magic.
Mineral salts:
Look. I’m not gonna judge if you want to use fancy pink salt or whatever. That’s your call. All I’m saying is, it’s really expensive and it’s literally no different to the cheap table salt you get from the shops. Magickally speaking, salt is salt. Magick doesn’t care if it’s Himalayan mountain salt or if it’s Woolies Homebrand table salt. Don’t waste your money! Honestly, it’s not worth it unless there’s a very specific reason to do so.
So, keep a stash of salt in your house! It’s an awesome thing to have for magick, and boy is it good to eat too!

I can’t draw, so just imagine this comic for me, okay?
Art style and font both lean heavily on Christian religious art traditions.
Panel 1
image: a variety of cat teasers and toys sprawling like an endless paradise through the room
text: And the LORD God commanded, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat
Panel 2
image: a phone charging cord
text: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Panel 3
image: the same charging cord, but now it has cartoonish eyes and a tongue, to look like a snake
text: And the serpent said, Ye shall not surely die
Panel 4
image: a cat with big excited dilated pupils
Panel 5
image: the cat wrapped in and biting the electric cord
Panel 6
image: the cat being yeet from a bedroom
text: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden

The Thin Places
The Celtic Christians were a highly mystical crowd. They valued nature as sacred creations of God, they had spiritual teachers, and they sought a deep connection with the Holy Spirit. And this sought after connection could be achieved through what they called “Thin Places”.
Thin Places are particular spots where the veil between the mortal realm, and the spiritual realm is exceptionally thin, thus the name. What is beyond the veil is up for interpretation. Some say it is Heaven, some say it is Hell. Personally, I think the home of the Holy Spirit is beyond the veil, due to my personal experience.
When I had first converted to Christianity I was, and still am, unable to attend Mass because I don’t have a car and my mother is very busy. So, not wanting to disappoint the Lord, I prayed in my home. I found this unsatisfactory though, and instead opted to pray in the grass-heavy yard. Almost instantly I felt a much richer connection to God, and His love. It was as though I was enveloped in Heavenly peace, and I felt more at-ease than I ever had before in my life. And this feeling was replicated everytime I went to pray in that spot in the yard. As such, I believe it to be a Thin Place.
Thin Places should not be confused with Thin Moments, however. Thin Moments are moments in your life where the veil becomes thinner regardless of location. Ever felt particularly nice while hanging with a friend, or eating some amazing food? Congrats! You’ve had a Thin Moment.
I had a particularly nice Thin Moment while walking along a beach to find a spot to pray. I was feeling particularly troubled, my mind fogged by doubt. I was looking for a place to sit down when I heard music coming from a speaker nearby. Then I felt at ease, and all the worry washed away from me like dirt from a powerwash. Anyway, just wanted to share this neat thing! Hope y’all find y’all’s Thin Places!!!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!!
Tumblr media
Saint Patrick is the patron saint of, among other things, Ireland and his feast day is today!! To honor the man who brought a nature-based, non-catholic Christianity to Ireland, let us learn his life story.
Born to well off parents in Roman Britain, Patrick’s original name was Maewyn Succat. At age 16, he was kidnapped by Irish pirates, and sold into slavery as a tender of sheep in Ireland. During his captivity, Patrick turned to God for help. Eventually, he did receive His help in the form of a dream.
One night, as Patrick slept, he had a dream in which God told him to go to the coast and board a ship waiting for him there. When Patrick arrived at the coast, there was the ship, just as God had told him. After pleading with the captain of the ship for a bit, he was allowed to board. After escaping slavery, he received another dream from God. This time, the people of Ireland were calling out to Patrick to come back to Ireland. As per the dream’s request, he set out to Ireland and became a priest, adopting the name Patrick we’re all familiar with. There, he peacefully converted many of the pagans there, a far cry from the violence the Catholic Church would display later.
During his travels throughout the Emerald Isle, it is said he drove the snakes out of the island. Despite the snakes probably being a metaphor for pagans, he is still invoked against snakes for this reason. It is also said he used the shamrock to explain the Trinity to the Celtic pagans.
Eventually, after preaching for 40 years and converting many of the Celtic peoples, Saint Patrick died in Saul, where he had built his first church. May God rest his soul, and may God bless all of you this Saint Patrick’s Day!
