I’m so distracted 🤪 All I can think about is 🧶. Yarn that on clearance at Michael’s for only 99¢!!! The kind that I’ve been obsessing over lately - Caron Cakes! I saw Big Cakes and Cotton Cakes for 99¢!!! Do you need me to say it again? NINETY NINE CENTSSS 😱 😩 I want to go so bad but I have no way of getting there 😭. I even looked up 🚎 public transport LOL. (Not feasible due to COVID) This is bad y’all. I can’t even function 😅. Sigh... Well if I can’t get any then maybe you can! RUN, don’t walk!! It’s Friday!! Fri-day... fry day 🍟 ...No? Anyone? 😅 I’m usually craving fries at some point in the week but yesterday and today I’ve been wanting a donut. Did you really think I’d forget?! Remember how I told you I was gonna share more on this bomb ass deal I got on yarn? 🗣 EACH CAKE WAS ONLY $2.99!! (Sorry I’m yelling. I’m just REALLY excited.) Original price on these baddies are usually $9.99. What a friggin’ deal! Our local Tuesday Morning is closing 🙁 so there was a store wide clearance. Boyfriend and I just happened to stumble upon it and decided to check it out. We needed some extra dish ware and home goods. But you already know my ass had to look down the craft aisle! 😂 That’s when I found these beauties 😍 Boyfriend had left to use the restroom and came back to me eyeing these cakes 👀😅. (Note: I had already promised him and myself that I wouldn’t buy anymore yarn until I made a dent in my stash at home. He was not amused when he had to pack up all my yarn during the move 😆) Long story short, it was such an awesome deal that HE ended up telling me to get all the Caron Big Cakes they had left. He even helped me put them in our cart AND told me it’d be his treat! 😁😁 We wiped ‘em clean 😂 and I was smiling from ear to ear. Phew, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here! Big thangs happened - we moved from Bay Area, Cali to the PNW for Boyfriend’s next assignment at JBLM in Washington. House hunting in the middle of a pandemic is not the biz! So... all our stuff is still in boxes. Well, half our stuff is still in boxes. We’re still waiting for the other half to be delivered 🤦🏻‍♀️. Hooray for military movers, amirite? 😅 In the meantime, Boyfriend set up this little rolley cart for me next to our bed. Did a grocery run with my mama yesterday at our local @foodmaxx. Is it weird for me to say I got excited over milk?🥛😅 I usually get @horizonorganic 0% nonfat milk, but they didn’t have it so I grabbed the 1% instead. My mom has never had Horizon milk, so I wanted to get some for her to try. And she really likes it! 😃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We also decided to splurge and get @nutchermilk because the bottles were pretty and we‘ve seen it around at a lot of places but never had the chance to try it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I can confirm that the chocolate 🍫 milk is 👌🏽 and I would def buy it again (and in the bigger bottle)! I intended to break into this beauty today with some stamping and coloring, but time escaped me. It’s already almost midnight and I’m just finishing up dinner and dessert 🤪, so this’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Maybe I’ll try waking up early to squeeze more into my day? 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’ll see how I feel in the morning. 🤞🏽 no insomnia tonight 😴 cuz ya girl is tryna get a good night’s sleep! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This pic doesn’t do this journal justice tho. What caught my eye (besides the $7.47 clearance price tag 🤑) was the metallic gold design on the cover and gilded edges. If you know me, you’d know that I love yellow gold. Plus it was on clearance so that was enough justification for me to get it 😅. (Don’t rat me out to Boyfriend tho 😆.) In all seriousness, given how lousy I’ve been feeling lately, I’m trying to make a concerted effort to tap into creative outlets to help keep me on solid ground. I don’t have specific plans for this journal yet, but I do think it’s going to be a random collection of things. That way, it’ll be easier for me to add things to it and actually USE the damn thing. It’s always been so hard for me to get started in brand new journals, notebooks, planners, a blank canvas, etc. ✍🏽 Writing on that first page... Not wanting to make mistakes that would mess it up... Anyone else have the problem of not wanting to “ruin” new things? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Yes, I’m OCD 😅 and attempt to be a perfectionist, so I get mad at myself if there are visible oopsies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But the reality is we all make mistakes. I’ve been having a really hard time re-adjusting to the separation and distance since Boyfriend’s last visit home. It’s been a month since I’ve put sheets on the bed. I haven’t folded laundry in prob about 2-3 weeks. Dishes are sitting in the sink and have yet to be washed. The floors need to be vacuumed and mopped. I could go on for days on all the chores and tasks I’ve neglected bc I just couldn’t get myself to do ANYTHING. Even eating regularly seemed like the world’s biggest chore. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And for the first time in weeks - literally, WEEKS - I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. I have the motivation to get things done, however little or basic they may seem. Doing laundry, folding clothes, tidying up, making the bed.. I’m slowly getting back on my feet and restoring order in our apartment (and my life lol). Some people might not understand this and think it’s trivial or stupid. And that’s fine. But to me, this is considered a huge win and improvement. So I’m gonna celebrate the little victories and pat myself on the back for getting some things done tonight like laundry 🧺 and making the bed 🛏 . Brought these goodies to work with me today (tenks Boyfriend for the thoughtful gifts 🥰 which are extra special bc they come from far away) but ran out of time to play with them. Despite the 🌧 wet and gloomy gray weather, Best Friend and I decided to venture into the city to go to @sfetsy Indie Holiday Emporium, and we are so glad we did! ☺️ It was so much fun seeing so many vendors (and when I say so many I mean a LOT - roughly 150) and all their locally-designed and handmade items. I haven’t done much today 🙈 so here’s a pic of yesterday’s lunch. This was my first time at Turtle Tower, and I ordered phở tái chín (rare and well done beef noodle soup). This rainy, cold weather made it a perfect phở day! 🤗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll have to admit, I’m not a fan of this style of phở. The noodles were a little too well done for my taste, and their size def caught me off guard! 😅 The broth also wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it would be. I think this is how northern Vietnamese people make their phở - no shade, just not my preference (6/10). Nevertheless, I was grateful for a warm, and full belly 😊 (and also a break from work lol). This weekend, I finished packing up this adorable baby blanket for my friends out in Maryland. I’m so excited to send this out tomorrow 📦😃 and can’t wait for their daughter to cuddle up in it. She’s just a little over two months and is the cutest little thing! ☺️ Her dad picked out the colors, and I decided on the pattern for the blanket.
