Idk is it weird to actually sort of miss 2013 Tumblr? It was ‘cringe’ and had some awful moments/experiences sure… but a lot of that early to mid 2010s genuine goofiness is what partially got me through high school when I was at my worst. The internet was considered a place to escape reality for a little while. Roleplaying. Ask games and blogs. Calling each other by our usernames. The follow for follow technique. Hipster vs fandom being the only main discourse topic. Getting into interests and memes that were essentially nonrelevant irl. I don’t think I would like to fully go back. Nonetheless, it still comforts me knowing that the earlier community gave me a space to exist.

"From a very early age the child becomes part of a pattern he never fully understands and is powerless to change. It is a pattern that is made up of rituals - of form periods, morning assemblies, lessons that follow each other in quick succession for no apparent reason, bells rung by other people that govern his changes of activity, milk, school dinners, homework. His life is part of a scheme that has been devised by people he does not know, and into which he is expected to fit without question.
And it is here that we come to the real content of our educational structure. At school, the child is taught by experience that it is normal for other people to organize his life. He will be told in Civics or History that he lives in a democracy, which means that people govern themselves. But he will know as an experienced fact that he must expect to be governed by other people who know better than he does."
- Albert Hunt, The Tyranny of Subjects, in Education for Democracy (2nd ed., 1972)

a hard take on today's music (especially pop and tiktok songs)
looks are more important today. they all sound the same. music doesn't mean anything anymore. yesterday: hit, tomorrow: forgotten. short shallow songs. same old shit spit out and shitted out by consuming too much milk. boring, always the same, sometimes even plagiarized. bring back the value, bring back mtv times, bring back the time when we waited in front of the radio for our favorite song from our favorite artist. bring back music and forget the trash like it was supposed to be, quote: the labels.
I'm not saying that everyone out there is making bad music but most people don't stand out or just copy.

what grinds my gears, and happen so very often:
short post, and just for my blog (here just to have place to input it in)
0/27, 17/04/24 Random thoughts
many intenrnet posts about "how people love..." to be awake at 1-5am, "just to be in..." dark and silence, alone, with their thoughts - when one person pinpoints it, it is romantic for a while. but then, it starts to (get popular,) feel sacharine and there are copycats andcomments to it. makes one wonder ?how so?"
...
what to do? it feels like the best era already happened, and we live in the last era - last juice of past glory - pastiche of it. '97-'15 peak (/before big-media...). after that, culture and society went to era of "meta-criticism", being critical about why [it] is so critical... - gives me the same "vibes" as if... your dreams came true, - but then , as if - you start to feel guilty, lied to (sorts of "suffering from success"), weird ("and now what!") - similar to about any [post-revolution] (brainfog) zeitgeist -
you got what you want(ed), - but how to assure this wont repeat, that [*this*] will not be took for granted (...), forgotten, and bagatelized - (new-)normalized, - simplified, and >> used in (some, pol.) future campaign , and or used in some form of (pol., soc.) coercion?!! -
- just *another* status quo, "without" history!
(they npcs accept unacceptable)

Person to Person
Sister, I don't know your sorrow.
But I'll sit and listen for as long as this man can.
When the talking's all done.
Our faults we shall know.
We let them all flow into day of days and night of night.
We've come so far to bare our, souls!
Brother, why don't you speak to me like you used to.
I'll even give you the words to say.
When the talking's said and done.
Our flaws we shall know.
We let them all just flow into, day of days and nights of night.
We've come so far to bare our, souls!
Sister! Brother!
Take a look, tell me what do you see?
To the edge of the land we run.
To watch the ocean rise and fall.
To the top of the mountain we run.
To watch the sky.
Day of days and nights of night.
We've come so far to bare our, souls!
By Zinck.
