You sat at the small floor table in the middle of your boyfriend’s dorm room, you watched intently as the man sitting across from you wrote large and seemingly unending paragraphs, while your own workbook remanded bare. The man looked up from his page to you with a curious look, “is something the matter?” He asked looking down at your book noticing it’s emptiness, while focused on your book you leant over and pressed a lingering kiss on his lips, “I just need to do that, I couldn’t focus until I got a taste” you smiled and licked your lips, the man looked at you with shock before sitting back and resting on his palm, “you know I’ll need payback now” Iida spoke as he look at you lips that had your lipstick smeared over them.
Tenya iida was such a reliable and caring boyfriend, he always took such good care of you and expected nothing in return, however he has always been quite prideful and this has resulted in him frequently trying to get even, it doesn’t matter how small the incident, he’s incredibly petty but you honestly love it about him, though you probably wouldn’t say it. Tenya often gets quite embarrassed by affection and will almost always shy away from it, but in small moments the man will soothe and comfort you.
You’re broken from your thoughts as you feel Iida’s callus thumb rub over your bottom lip, he wiped away the smudged lipstick before holding your chin and leaning in, however just before your lips had a chance to touch Iida’s dorm room door open suddenly, you both jumped away from each other and looked to the door, “now I’m certain there’s a ‘open door’ rule for when you’re studying with girls…” aizawa sighed as he looked at Iida with a tired expression. “Yes, I now remember that rule being mentioned, once or twice” Iida looked to you and all you could do was snicker, “yep, sounds about right” you cough out as you begin gathering your books and stationary from the table, you stood and quickly left the room with all your belongings, as you exited the room you heard Aizawa tell Iida it was lights out, before you could run off however the teacher stopped you, “straight to your dorm room… and no coming back here, study is over it’s lights out” he closed Iida’s door and turned to look at you, you nod “I haven’t had a chance to bathe, can I do that before I go to sleep?” You asked and the man sighs, it didn’t take a fortune teller to guess what you’d try and do, but Aizawa figured he should give you the benefit of the doubt, he should trust you, “fine… you can bathe, but no funny business… not tonight” he huffed and walked away muttering something about an argument between Midoriya and Bakugo.
You got back into your dorm room and packed away all your books and stationary before grabbing your bath bag, night clothes and towel, before making the trip to the bathroom. Getting into the bathroom you pulled out your phone and placed it on the side of the bathtub while you turned on the water waiting for the tub to fill, as you waited you undressed and began scrubbing your body at one of the washing stations, as you finished the bath water was full and you settled in.
You leaned your head back with your eyes closed for quite sometime before pulling out your phone and scrolling through it, watching random videos before a Pictalk notification popped in the top corner of your screen, clicking it a picture of a dark room with the caption that read
‘how much trouble did you get in?’
You smiled and snapped a picture of the steamy bathroom mirror and captioned it with.
‘None really… just a “don’t come back here, study is over >:(“‘
You chuckled and pulled yourself out of the water, sitting on the edge of the tub still allowing your legs to soak, another notification popped up and you clicked into it. It was of Iida’s neatly made bed.
‘Haha… you’re only bathing now?’
You smiled and shook your head, before taking a picture of your bare legs resting in the water.
‘Yeah, someone kept me busy with studying’
You watched the speech bubble in the messages pop up before disappearing and reappearing several times before finally you received a picture response, this picture was of Iida pulling a playful frown.
‘Are you trying to start something?’
You laughed at his expression before stepping out of the bath and emptying the water, as the bath drained you walked over to the mirror and wiped away a little of the steam, only leaving enough to cover below your hips, you stood in front of the mirror and covered a hand over your breasts before smiling and taking a picture, you send the picture with the caption.
‘start something? But I’m a good girl’
You waited patiently for Iida’s response while you dried yourself, then came in the next picture, Iida had also sent a picture of him standing in his mirror shirtless and one hand resting over his clothes crotch. The picture was captioned.
‘You’re testing my patience baby’
You smiled and wondered how far you could take this before one of you got impatient, though the way things are going anyone else would think Iida was moments away from giving in but that just wasn’t the case and the both of you knew it, you wipe down the rest of the mirror before sitting back on the ground and open your legs, you rubbed two fingers over your entrance before sliding them in, you took a picture of yourself through the mirror, with your best ‘O’ face and the caption.
‘So warm and wet…’
You waited and as you did your fingers worked in and out of you before moving to rubbed your clit, moaning you almost didn’t hear your phone chime, opening the picture you blushed and chuckled as you saw Iida’s long and thick member on the screen, he only have two fingers wrapped around the base, this time no caption was with the picture. However a voice note was sent moments later.
“I bet that pussy is nice and ready, you always are”
You heard the chuckle and groan in his voice and you knew exactly what he was doing while sending that voice note, you sent back a voice note.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours”
Iida knew exactly what you were asking but instead all you got back was nothing, no voice note, no picture, not even a message, you scrambled to get dressed in your night clothes and grabbed your belongings. You walk down to the laundry room and put your clothes and towel in the washing machine, and left your bath bag next to the machine you were using, after this you wasted no time going to Iida’s dorm room.
You opened the door and walked in, the room was dark and as you looked towards Iida’s bed you noticed he was laying back with his blanket over him, he was fully dress in his goofy pyjamas, he looked as though he wasn’t just sending you dirty messages, “Tenya… Tenya you need to be awake” you whispered and walked over to him, you knew he wasn’t asleep, you had seen him sleep plenty of times so you knew he was awake, “Tenya sit up and take care of me” you whined as you grabbed at his pyjama top, the man chuckled as he sat up and looked down at you, “you’re such a greedy girl… we were told lights out and yet you’re here because of a picture” Iida sighed and brushed a strand of hair behind your ear, “I guess it can’t be helped… strip for me please” he smiled and you stood and moved to take off your shirt before stopping and looking to your boyfriend, “what about you?” You asked and Iida frowned “I said strip” he snapped and you quickly began removing your shirt, Iida nodded and looked at your breasts before he moved to sit on the edge of the bed, he motioned for you to step closer to him, so he could grab your arms and pressed them into your sides, your face became flushed as Iida trailed his tongue up your stomach to your sternum, he stopped and placed a kiss on your skin before moving to lick over your right nipping, you whined and pressed your legs together, before the man moved onto your other nipping this time suckling on it, “you’re sucking it like a baby” you breathlessly chuckled, Iida looked up at you with a hard stare before biting roughly on the side of your breast, you yelped and your boyfriend pulled you down slightly to capture your lips in an open mouth kiss, you gasped and cried out in surprise as Iida tongue took control over your mouth, the way he’s slurp and wriggle his tongue reminded you of all the times he’d eat you out.
Pulling away from you and loosing his grip, allowing his hand to slide down your arms and rest on your hips before he slowly pulled down your pants, leaving you in nothing but the pink girlish panties you’d normally never let Tenya see. “Aww how cute” he laughed as he kissed just above your waistband, “it’s not funny, I didn’t think when I grabbed them” you whined and felt Iida move you onto his bed to lay down on your back, “I think they’re cute… they’re so innocent and sweet” he smiled as he leaned in and whispered in your ear “reminds me of our first time… you were such a good girl, so patient” his voice was hushed and relaxed as he slowly pulled your panties to the side before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss over your entrance, “how badly do you want it greedy girl?” Iida asked, his hot breath brushing over your cunt, you whined and wiggled your hips “so badly… I need it” you moaned softly, trying to keep your voice down.
You cried out as you felt your boyfriend’s tongue lick slow strips up the length of your cunt, “more… Tenya, I need more…” you whimpered encouraging your boyfriend, Iida was a beast the way he’d devour you, you were certain given the chance Iida would eat you anywhere and anytime, he’d always put his all into eating you, he’d lick; suck and slurp, Iida was a shameless man when it came to having you on his tongue, he’d say the most vile and lewd things you’d ever heard from him, it was honestly pornography the things he’d come out with; and this time was no different.
“You taste like heaven… if men knew just how sweet you tasted, they’d be on their knees praying to you” he groaned as he licked between your folds, before wriggling his tongue inside you, “I’d lick your cunt raw if only you’d let me… I’d eat you every minute of the day and only take breaks to fuck you” he moaned into you before kissing up to your clit before wrapping his lips around it and suckling on it for dear life, you cried out loudly completely foregetting where you were, “tenya I’m… I’m…” you arched you back and wrapped your legs around Iida’s head as you grabbed roughly at his neatly groomed hair, “…oh god… yes tenya… yes…” you whimpered as your body seized up and you began coming undone on your boyfriend’s mouth, he groaned and moved back your entrance, sliding his tongue back into you as his fingers began rubbing quickly over your clit, “holy fuck… ten… oh tenya” you gasped as you started to and push Iida away, however he only continued. You took a sharp breath in, then took another and another, before suddenly losing the ability to breath, it took Iida only a few seconds to realise what was happening behind he moved up to you and brushed your hair from your face, “breath baby, breath out” he encouraged as his thumb rubbed soft circles on your jaw, you breathed out quickly before sucking in a deep breath, while Iida continued encouraging you.
Once fully calm your boyfriend chuckled and settled himself between your legs, “that was scary… you wanna continue?” He asked as he leant back down ready to pick up where he left off, “I wanna… but not like that… I wanna have you inside me” you hummed as you pulled off your underwear and opened your legs as wide as you could, “I want it all inside, to the base Tenya” you used your fingers to spread your folds apart as your laid back and waited for your boyfriend. Iida watched your cunt intensely as it squeezed around nothing, before he pulled off his shirt and pulled his throbbing cock from his pants, shifting the fabric down only enough for him to hang comfortably, the man pumped himself slowly and reached into his bedside table for a condom before rolling down his shaft and spitting on himself rubbing his saliva over his shaft, he than leant down and spat a large ball of saliva over your entrance, “hmmm… nice and wet… you’ll take it all in one now” he hummed as he prodded at your hole with his tip, pushing his saliva in and out, getting his tip wet.
Iida watched your cunt grip him tightly as he began to slowly slide in, once his cock was fully hilted inside you, you both moaned and Iida pressed his forehead against yours, “god fucking damn it… it feels good” he huffed out a string of cusses and rubbed your hips with his thumb as he waited for you to encourage him to move.
Iida had always been a giver, though he disguised it as petty payback… which it partly was… however with that being said Iida was always safe, he never acted reckless or overdid it, though this time was different.
Your hands grabbed Iida’s thick biceps as he gave you long and hard thrusts that caused the bed to thump into the wall, “Christ… you’re perfect” he moaned and grabbed a hold of your legs, he looked down at where the two of you met and smiled, watching the way your walls and opening clung to him so tightly, creating a delicious drag however because of this it was almost too hard for him to set an even pace, “please… more… I need it harder” you moaned as you dug your nails into he’s shoulders, Iida chuckled and began a strong pace. The man groaned and moaned as he held you down while he pushed into you a little bit harder and faster with every thrust, he’d moaned out obscenities while you simply took in the view, you’d finished several times already on his cock and looking down you could see a white ring form around the base of Iida’s cock, “Tenya… Tenya wait” you whine and place a hand on his chest to push him back, “what’s the matter? Is it starting to hurt? Should we stop?” He asked as he pulled out and grabbed the side of your cheek, you shook your head and leaned up “I’m fine, but I know you’ve been holding out for so long… so I want you to enjoy yourself a little” you hummed as you turn over and push your ass up into the air while pressing your face and chest into Iida’s mattress. Iida moved in and began looking over your wet folds, he rubbed his thumb over your cunt before using it to open you up for himself, “baby I’m always happy just giving you whatever you need, but this…” he groaned as he rubbed his tip over your clit, “you really want me to take what I need?” He questioned and you moaned, nodding your head and looking back at him, “I’m beyond satisfied, now I need to feel you cum” you whined as you reached back and grabbed a hold of the condom cover your boyfriend, before you began pulling it off him, the man moaned only to then quickly thrust into you once you pulled the condom completely off and discarded it on the floor, you grasped as Iida set into a brutal pace faster and harder then before, roughly holding your hips to stop your for jolting forward into the headboard, he’d roll his hips every so often and tried to get as deep as your body would allow him.
“I’m gonna cum so deep in you… I’m gonna use you up so no one else will want you” iida moaned as he threw his head back and grabbed at your ass cheeks, harshly smacking them every so often, “you dirty whore… you want that, don’t you?” Another harsh smack followed this and you responded with nothing but a whine. You can’t seem to form a coherent sentence, all that comes out of you is a jumble of words followed by moaning and whining, you were enjoying this, enjoying this more than maybe you should’ve been, “you’re squeezing so tightly…” Iida hummed as he further picked up his pace, he let out a laugh as he grabbed your waist and pulled you back into his thrusts, you could feel him twitching and pulsing with each thrust, “you sure you want it inside… cause if you don’t… I… I won’t” he moaned grinding his hips into you, “yes… god yes… inside please… Tenya please!” You cried loud before quickly having your face shoved into Iida’s pillows, “baby I love hearing your voice but shut the fuck up” he groaned as he held your head in place, while continuing his vicious assault on your cunt. Iida’s breaths become uneven and he lets go of your head and move his hand back to your ass, he grabbed at the flesh and watched as he began long quick, yet uneven thrusts. “Fuck baby, fuck…” he huffed as his hip’s faulted and snapped in towards you, you felt him shutter, soon an indescribable warmth filled your belly, your legs shook and your cunt squeezed uncontrollably, causing Iida to pulled out and begin fingering you, working you through your final orgasm of the night. “Shit… shit baby…” Iida sighed as he sat back on his bed, you crawled over to him weakly and climbed into his lap, “we fucked up… I shouldn’t have let you take it off… I should’ve kept the condom on” he huffed as he rested his head back against the wall, “it’s okay, I’m on the pill” you smiled however Iida did not return that smile, “it doesn’t matter… it was still so reckless of me… to allow you to seduce me into such dangerous play…” he hummed and hugged into you and pressed his face into your neck, “you make me a truly weak man” he sighed and began kissing your neck, “let’s not risk doing it raw again, I’m not a strong enough man for that just yet” he moaned and you couldn’t help but laugh, here was the overly serious and proper boyfriend you fell head over heels in love with, “we could always go one more round, I don’t feel full enough yet” you joked and felt Iida bite your neck before sitting up and frowning at you, “okay, I’ll stop… though it was nice” you hum and quickly stand up, walking into the toilet in the room, “I need a washcloth tenya” you call and heard the man stand from the bed before walking into the toilet with a wet washcloth, “do you need help darling?” Iida passed you the cloth and you nodded as you took it, “yeah it’s pretty deep in, I can’t possibly reach it” you said with a wide smirk, Iida sighed and knelt down “alright I’ll help you”.
_
You sat in class as All Might finished up giving his feedback on today class, he finally ended his little lecture and dismissed the class but before anyone could stand and leave for the dormitory Aizawa stopped everyone as if he had been waiting outside the classroom door just for All Might to finish, “Bakugo, Midoriya, Iida and L/n, all of you are to stay back” he spoke before letting everybody else leave, All might gave Midoriya a nervous look before leaving himself. All four of you sat facing Aizawa as he sat down on the stool that had been moved into the classroom after he’d lost his leg, “now Bakugo and Midoriya, you both know fighting at school outside of training is prohibited and to fight in the dormitory is next level irresponsible, both of you will have two weeks of after class detention… now get out of my site” he grumbled and both boy stood, beginning to leave, however Midoriya stop near Iida and in a not so quiet whisper “I’ll wait for you out in the hallway” he smiled and Aizawa quickly piped in, “absolutely not… get back to the dormitory” he scolded and this made Midoriya scramble out the door, closing it behind him.
“Now you two, you know why I have you here… don’t you?” Aizawa crossed his arms and looked between the both of you, Iida swallowed as you tried your hardest to keep a straight face. “I have some ideas” your eyes shifted to the side and you smiled nervously, “very funny L/n, but maybe next time you decide to give Iida a past curfew visit make sure I’ve actually finished my rounds…” his frown deepened and you could feel your face go red, “it was quite a surprise to be finished up then suddenly heard a woman’s cries though the boy’s half of the dormitory” Aizawa looked towards Iida and from the corner of your eye, you could see your boyfriend struggling to make eye contact with the teacher, “and then all the banging of what I presume was your bed frame… but hey maybe I’m wrong and you were decorating, and you were just cheering on all his hard work” Aizawa’s face still held a straightness despite his very obvious frustration, “look, you can’t be doing that kind of stuff so freely and openly, if the wrong person heard that or even if someone was able to get a picture or video of you two… because you know how driven some of your classmates are…” Aizawa sighed and uncrossed his arms “if something like that happened to get out to the media, it’d ruin your careers before they have a chance to actually begin…” Aizawa spoke so calmly it was unnerving, he then looked at you and continued on “L/n the public wouldn’t see you as some sweet little sister anymore, you’d be seen as some whore who seduced an honest and just man…” his expression softened and you looked down in shame before he moved onto Iida, “and Iida, the public would start saying your a weak willed man, if you’re lucky… or they’d treat you like a monster for defiling a precious young woman” he said and leant back in his chair with a sigh, Aizawa pinched is nose bridge “you both need to be more careful, I’m not saying you can’t do that you’re both adults and will be out of here in a few months, but you need to think about your image, so no doing that here and no going to love hotels, doing it at one of your homes where your privacy is respected… and you’ll be having two weeks of detention with Midoriya and Bakugo” he grumbled and stood ready to leave, “get out of here, now” he said as he pointed to the door, both you and Iida speedily left the room as you both exited you had Aizawa muttered under his breath questioning how he hadn’t gone grey yet.
“I think it was worth it…” you said walking along side Iida and after a moment of silence the man chuckled, “yeah it was, I’m disappointed in us… but it definitely was worth it” he added and shook his head in amusement, “worth it enough to do it again” you smiled and grabbed Iida’s hand, “its tempting, but no… I’m pissed about the idea of all those guys hearing you” he said and brought the back of your hand up to his lips kissing it before the both of you walked back to your dorm laughing about everything.

Whenever I listen to Hooked On A Feeling by Björn Skifs I imagine a scenario of Blitzwing just being totally smitten by the little yellow autobot he just met and he's trying his best to court him.
He doesn't even hide it, he will just straight up ditch the entire fight to go talk and compliment the yellow mini and either the Autobots or Lugnut has to chase/drag him away.
The worst part is Bee is totally into it. He doesn't see why the heck this would be a bad idea, the big goofy weirdo(affectionate) just wants his attention and love. Said goofy weirdo is also not that bad-looking and strong. All of his oddities are just more of a lure to capture Bee's curiosity and interest.
Blitz would go and draw attention of citizen so the the Autobots come and he'd sing and dance on a makeshift disco ring to flirt with Bee. When that fails he'd carve a giant ice statue of Bumblebee and present it to him and Bee will be so amazed. And when that fails due to the other Autobots dragging him away he'd show up to the emergency at the bridge Bee is at with Ratchet, stand nearby and hold up a sign saying "Please go on a date with me! <3" while blasting some love song he heard that the lyrics literally describe his feelings. Bee did jump off the bridge to get to him that time... unfortunately Ratchet had caught him and lifted him back up with the magnets before Blitzwing could catch him and run off.
Bee's teammates have to keep an eye on him at all times so he won't sneak out and go do something he'll regret. Bee is not happy that his friends don't want him to go and try be happy with another mech, he's very pouty whenever they tell him no he can't do that. So what if it's a 'con? He's never truly taken a side and only wears an insignia for the sake of having some leeway with other Autobots. All of them could be organics, monoformers, 'bots, 'cons or other-faction for all he cares. He just wants to have friends, doesn't matter what or who they are.
I imagine at one point in time on earth Bee took off the window in his room and have it on a latch or something so it opens like a hatch so he can sneak out via his room. He has a big trash container with a lid on the other side and few crates so he can climb down from the window. One time he manages to fool whoever is on the nightly watch over him so he won't sneak out (aka they check if he's still in his berth, this time he waited until the check pretending to recharge and then snuck out). He got out and drove to places he usually saw Blitz hanging out on patrols. He wasn't in any of those places but Bee waited some in one of them and sure enough Blitz did happen to come to that location that night. They were so happy to finally talk with each other properly without anyone hearing anything and interrupting every 3 minuites.
They hit it off near instantly. Bee is so curious and amazed by a unique mech like Blitzwing and Blitz is so enamored with Bee's personality and cute appearance. They dance, sing and laugh under the stars and it's like a love story book come real. Of course, they meet few times in secret after that. Bee thinks about how to make others allow him to meet with Blitz... but just as he does that they hear a knock at the shutter and wouldn't you know, Blitzwing is standing there with big boquet of flowers and some small packages. Somehow he learned the location of where Bee lives by himself. Of course Bee grabbed his servo and led him in to play games together despite the others being very much startled by what the heck a 'con is doing in their house on a tuesday morning.
By that point they just give up all efforts to try to keep those two apart. It's pointless... At least Blitz doesn't seem as bad as they thought he was- he did bring them gifts to come into their favor after all.
So Blitz is a regular guest at the Autobot base. Bee is happy, Blitz is happy, and the others still keep an eye on them just in case. But they definitelly stopped being so paranoid over Bee.

A/N: Hello! I'm back with another story idea. I got the idea of course from Your Name. I needed something else to write it was hard enough that I didn't post anything yesterday. SO let me know if you guys like this idea :)
Character Pairing: Gwen Stacy (Ghost Spider) x Reader
MINOR Spoilers for ATSV, like super minor if you squint.
Description: You were hanging out in your room finishing off a book you needed to do an assignment on for school. You got bored halfway and lay the book flat on your face as you let out the biggest sigh. As you did a portal opened above your bed and you were mysteriously sucked into it. You went through this portal yelling as you did. You saw a white light at the end of the hexagon shaped tunnel and were thrown into another bed. You got up looking around noticing you weren’t in your bed anymore, you let out another yell only to not hear your voice but the voice of someone else. As soon as you stopped yelling you looked down at your hands and noticed they weren’t the same as yours, a big man with a bat came sprinting into your room who you didn’t recognise. You yelled once again and passed out from the shock.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Gw..” You heard a voice calling out a name, you didn’t want to wake up cause you were having the best sleep of your life so you pushed them away. They came back shaking you gently but you pushed them away again, one final time you felt a light push.
“Gwen wake up” You woke up at the name Gwen, you sat up in your bed and looked at the man leaning over you. You let out a yell at the stranger in your room.
“Woah hey it’s just me, its Dad” You curled up at the end of the bed and looked at this gentle soul who had blonde hair. He was not your dad, your dad was super dead and you definitely saw pictures of him not having blonde hair.
“What’s going on Gwen you look like you’ve seen a ghost” Who the heck was Gwen? Why did he keep calling you Gwen. You held your finger up to him and promptly got out of bed running over to the closest mirror. You walked up to it and almost yelled again but thought against it. There was your consciousness currently looking at an unfamiliar body you had never seen before. You ran your hand through your hair and realised it was cut short, you checked out the body properly and saw the half shaved head.
“Gwen are you okay?” You completely forgot about the random man in your room, well not your room but in your presence. You stood up straight and turned around.
“Uh yes…Dad I am ay-okay! Why wouldn’t you think that?” You stood there, stiff as a board, the fakest smile you had ever mustered and he just looked at you.
“You know you can tell me anything right?” He said in a typical parent fashion, you smiled and nodded your head, he sighed and got up leaving you alone in the room. As soon as he closed the door you dropped the smile and ran around finding anything you could, opening any drawers, doors, closets, cupboards. Anything you could find to figure out where you were and who you were, you felt a bit bad trying not to go through anything private but also this was an unusual situation to be in and you believed the person would understand. You came up to a drum kit and out of your eye you saw one of the screws were slightly loose. You walked over too it and loosened it a bit more, you were shocked to see a uniform and a picture of this Gwen person and someone else. You put the photo back but looked at the costume next to it.
“All unit, requesting all units we have a break in down town.” You heard a radio going off and then heard Gwen’s dad yelling from the lounge room.
“Sorry honey gotta pop out for you know, ill be back later tonight okay! Just in case there’s $20 on the counter for dinner” Her rushed out of the room and closed the front door behind him, you poked your head around the corner and saw the $20 sitting there. You went back into your room and heard the same radio going off.
“All unit’s there are 5 armed robbers, confirmed 5 armed robbers proceed with caution” You knew that Gwen’s dad took his radio so you knew that Gwen must have had one stashed in her room, sure enough it was placed in a soft toy sitting on her shelf. You grabbed the costume you saw in the drum kit and saw the Spider Mask.
“I had a feeling this Gwen was a spider too” Just to triple check you jumped high with your fingers pointed upwards and your eyes slightly closed you waited for the ground to hit your feet but it never came. You opened your eyes and sure enough you were suspended in the air with your finger tips sticking to the roof.
“Cool! Okay it might be a little different from you back home but they will have roughly all the same abilities right? Like I should be able to do this” You put on Gwen’s suit (Respectfully) and placed the mask over your face.
You awkwardly made your way out of the apartment and went to shoot webs from your wrists when you realised nothing came out and you started plummeting to the ground. You let out a loud yell and managed to catch one of the fire escapes on your way down.
“Okay so she can’t swing? I find that hard to believe let me head back up” You walked back up the apartment sticking just fine no issues, when you climbed in you say the makeshift web shooters and grabbed them.
“Bro this would suck to worry about, like what if you run out of web” You put them on and they fit perfectly, you tried again first by shooting a web and it came out successfully. You hit the button a couple more times to see that it unhooked.
“Okay cool once to shoot twice to cut it, alright I got this” 2nd Attempt was much more successful however as you were flying through the air you weren’t use to this body, yours was a bit bulkier so you had more mass to move around with where as Gwen was not small just not as heavy as you so when you threw your legs to swing you over estimated the momentum and threw yourself a bit further than you were used to.
“That’s okay we’re learning! We got this, we need to go save those people” You headed towards the scene of the crime, you spotted the cars moving around and landed on the building next to them but on the roof so you couldn’t see them. You could see Gwen’s dad was barking orders organising everyone.
“Of course he’s the captain, wouldn’t be a Spider story without some sort of twist” You dropped down near them and walked right up to the officers.
“It’s alright guys I got it from here” You tried to walk pass with no issues however the entire police force turned around and raised their guns at you.
“Don’t move Spider-Woman” You held your hands up confused, but then remembered this isn’t your world this is another world where it sems that the cops did not like you co-operating. “Sorry Gwen” You said quietly to yourself and then leapt into the air swinging away from them and towards the bank robbers.
“Sorry Officers, didn’t mean to tease, ill be right back after I’ve done your job and saved everyone” Okay so they hate you and Gwen’s father clearly has no idea who she is so we have to keep it like that. Even if this is a dream you never know, it might not be.
You made your way into the bank crawling on the ceiling, you took in your surroundings and found the 5 bank robbers, you could see that they had taken some hostages too, women and children. As cliché as it is it seems like an elementary school decided to pick today to go on a field trip to the bank. You rolled your eyes at the irony but began crawling around a bit to see if you could get a better angle.
“Alright pack those bags and move them over here, the cops are going to escort us out of here and we’ll be home free” As you surveyed the area you tried to slowly pick off each of the guys that were below one by one, you would follow them, web them and knock them out before they could alert anyone else.
As you kept doing that you managed to get 4 out of 5 of them, the last one being the boss who was barking orders and standing right next to the hostages. “I know you’re there Spider-Woman” He said holding his gun up towards the ceiling, even though you had a BRIGHT WHITE costume on you still managed to use your stealth technique and hide well in the shadows. He couldn’t see you, you scurried closer to him know you had to do this quickly so no one would get hurt.
You shot a web onto his chest and pulled him towards ou, the shock of you being so bold threw him off and he dropped his gun, you knocked him out with your fist and then stuck him to the ceiling where all his other buddies were. You dropped down towards the hostages and ran over untying them.
“Thank you Spider-Woman” They all said as they were all untie and let go out of the building, you follow them out not so far behind and then began thwipping away towards Gwen’s apartment. You smiled from ear to ear on a successful mission and absolutely loved the feeling of being a Spider no matter what dimension it was in.
You landed in Gwen’s room quickly taking off her costume, putting it away and hiding all her spider related stuff. You laid back down on her bed, you let out a small sigh and held your hands in front of your face.
“Well Gwen whoever you are we smashed it today so yay! I wonder if theres anyone I need to tell or talk to about it?” You checked her phone and saw that she had a couple of photos of that same person that you saw in the drumkit but also a couple of photos of another boy who had glasses. You went through the contacts lists and her messages to see if there was anyone you spoke too regularly. The last message you saw was from a Peter Parker dated 1.5 years ago saying “I can’t wait to see you at prom” and then nothing else, there were calls from her dad and texts from her dad but apart from that nothing else for awhile.
“Gwen, don’t tell me” And sure enough you did the one thing you shouldn’t do and that’s look up your name on spoogle (Google in this dimension), you looked up Spider-Woman, you looked up Peter Parker and were met with a horrible event.
“Spider-Woman killed Peter Parker” You shook your head refusing to believe that knowing that the media had decided to pin the blame on that boys death on someone. Apart from Peter’s death there was lots of articles, rumours, typical Spider-Woman stuff on there. You turn off the phone and placed it back down on the bedside table.
“Gwen, I am so sorry” You laid in bed for a bit longer, your breathing started to get even and your eyes started to droop. You felt your body disappear and so did all your surroundings. Soon enough you felt yourself starting to grown conscious again, opening your eyes you got up looking around frantically.
“Im back in my room” You said out loud looking at the colours, the posters you had laying around and your clothes thrown exactly how you liked them around your room.
“Oh so it was a dream” You got up ready to start your day in your body and you were slightly happy that it was over, you were a bit disappointed though in finding out it was all a dream, you wanted to see if you could help out that imaginary person you made up. You walked into your bathroom and got a proper look at your face. You yelled as loud as you could, looking over your face all you saw were bruises, scrapes, scratches and cuts.
“No what, last thing I remember was falling asleep in bed reading that stupid book” You frantically ran around your house looking for signs, you stopped and jumped on google looking up your Spider name only to see embarrassing videos of you failing completely to apprehend your Doc Ock.
“Could this day get any worse” You sighed holding your hands in your head, as you hid away from the world your Aunt entered the room folding her hands across her chest.
“Do you want to tell me whats going on” Your body shivered at the sound of your Aunt coming into the room, you looked towards her and could see she was mad at you.
“Ah it depends can you tell me what I did yesterday” Her anger dissipated as quickly as it came and she ran over to you.
“Who’s Gwen?” She asked crouching next to you, you held your head once again not knowing how to tell your Aunt this but you swallowed your fear and looked at her.
"I'm not too sure myself A/N all I know is that shes lonely and she needs help" You said looking at your Aunt again
“Look Y/N, I don’t know whats going on, but if this is real and she comes back what are we going to do” You shrugged your shoulders not wanting to think about this problem anymore. A small part of you was hoping you were right, hoping that you got to be her again because in your heart it was like you could hear hers calling out to you. That she needed help.
“I don’t know what we’re going to do but all I know is that we need to be prepared and plan for when it happens, but I am going to need your help” She nodded and hurried back to making you breakfast, you got up looking at your face once again wincing.
“Gwen, wherever you are, I hope your okay”

You know one of the biggest differences I've noticed between the original trilogy books and the new Ahsoka show?
In the books, absolutely no one knew who the kriff Thrawn was.
Pellaeon's still adjusting to a new commander, who he follows loyally, but doesn't 100% trust until book 2. The Republic doesn't even learn his name until the end of book 1, and they're still debating whether he's an actual Grand Admiral or self-declared through book 2.
All of the Thrawn's threat - all of his menace to the New Republic, all of his weight as an antagonist - are discovered by the reader at the same time the characters are finding it out.
It's the perfect balance of showing and telling - we get to see Thrawn gain victories by being clever, with Pellaeon. We get to hear about how nervous he makes Karrde - a character we've learned is brilliant and menacing in his own right, and makes our heroes nervous, so how much more must Thrawn be? We get to see him make brilliant deductions and turn up just in the right place and the right time to corner our heroes, again and again.
The Sluis Van attack buildup was perfect - we keep hearing about from Pellaeon, hearing that Thrawn's planning an attack and Pellaeon himself is a bit skeptical, but it's coming, how's it going to work? What's going to happen? Meanwhile the mole miners were stolen, and there's this new cloaking field, and how's it all going to come together...?
And suddenly Han's there, with Luke and Lando, and Wedge, and we're waiting with baited breath because we know it's all about to fall apart but how are our brilliant heroes going to get out of this one?
It's an amazing buildup, fantastic suspense, and really brings home the different perspectives of the characters. And establishes Thrawn as an actual, major threat, that everyone should be worried about.
But then in Ahsoka, it's like they've skipped straight to the Duology, when everyone knows who Thrawn is because he almost conquered the New Republic. But he hasn't done that, in canon, so we're left wondering why everyone's supposed to be worried when, as far as we've seen, he couldn't even beat Phoenix Squadron.
Heck, setting aside our own out of character knowledge, it makes Xiono look right. Who cares about a single Imperial warlord with a single half-destroyed ship? What's this guy actually done?
We know - those of us who know his story. But it's not shown. Why should the characters think him a threat? Why should we?
After all, all we've seen of him is Rebels. And in Rebels... he lost.

“Thank you for your purchase, how are you enjoying the series so far?” you asked the blue-haired boy in front of the counter. He was a regular customer, and he just bought the fifth part of an ongoing series that was insanely popular.
“It’s quite good, but I have to admit that I’m still waiting for a plot twist,” he replied, stuffing the book into his bag as he offered you a smile. “But the writing is on point and so is the characterisation, so you won’t hear me complain.”
“That’s a good point,” you mused out loud. “I’m only at part three so I don’t really know as much as you do, though.”
“The story drags on like this for a few books, you’ll see,” the boy told you.
“I see,” you nodded, flashing him a smile. “Anyway, enjoy reading and until next time!”
He left the store, and you moved away from the cash desk to help your co-worker relocate some of the books to make room for a new series that was about to be released. Alhaitham was already on it, but he had ceased his work and was looking at you instead.
It had been a couple of weeks since the bookstore opened, and you were quite content with your new job. After overcoming a fair share of awkwardness that was effortly induced after your colleague boldly saved himself in your contacts as ‘your bookstore crush’  (which was true, though you still didn’t admit that to Alhaitham), you started to get along just fine. You really had to get used to his quiet and stoic demeanor and his often blunt and straight-to-the-point remarks and the way he flustered the heck out of you sometimes, but eventually you decided they were simply part of his charm. Even after a few weeks of working together, he was still a mystery. But you had gotten closer, you could tell from the way Alhaitham indulged in small talk with you far more often and he brought dried Zaytun peaches to share with you almost every day.
That aside, you just enjoyed working at the bookstore, regardless of your colleague. It was fun to be surrounded by books and their smell, you were always up-to-date with the newest releases and latest rumors and updates in the world of fiction, you made good use of the employer discount, and you learned a lot of new skills.
“Customers always seem happier when you help them,” the male with silver hair remarked when you crouched down next to him, ready to take some books off the lower shelves. He asked, “What is your secret?”
You pondered for a moment, your eyes flickering to Alhaitham’s face. He looked back at you, serious as ever, his expression completely neutral and evened out. Though he was insanely handsome, and you were struggling to look at him without blushing, he didn’t have that kind of shine that would awaken a spark of enthusiasm in the customers.
“Maybe it’s because I smile at them a lot,” you wondered. “You know, people pick up someone’s vibe easily, so if you approach them with enthusiasm, they might reciprocate it. Not to be mean or something, but when you help customers you kinda look at them as if–”
“As if what?” Alhaitham asked, narrowing his eyes at you.
“You’re so serious,” you quickly said, dodging his question because you had no idea how to finish the sentence you started. “And don’t get me wrong, you look really handso– Uhm, I guess people just pick up my cheerful vibe and mirror it right back.” You felt like burying your face in the palms of your hands in utter embarrassment. You still stumbled over your words way too often around him, blurting out things you shouldn’t.
In the few weeks you worked together, you also learned that Alhaitham wasn’t dense. Either that, or your many slip-ups were just too obvious. Or maybe both. He gave it away when he gave back your phone after entering that ridiculously accurate contact name. Alhaitham was not oblivious, but it appeared that he simply chose to ignore your crush. In a way, it was sort of sad, but you were also grateful. Now you could at least work together and pretend nothing was going on – aside from those moments where you messed up or your co-worker seemed to fluster you on purpose.
He was scrutinizing you, and you had to do something to ease the awkwardness that hung in the air.
“There is nothing wrong with being serious, of course,” you were quick to add. “But if you want to make customers happy too, maybe you should smile at them when they make a purchase.”
Now that you thought about it, did you ever see Alhaitham smile? Sure, you’ve heard him chuckle occasionally, but never really did you see a smile form on his features. He was a solemn guy, but for that reason it always felt like there was some sort of distance between you, a distance that couldn’t be crossed.
“Smile more, you say?” Alhaitham brought out.
What happened after he spoke was very funny to you. He pressed his mouth into a tense thin line, and while the corners of his lips tilted up a little, it didn’t look at all convincing. His eyes didn’t necessarily sell the look, either. If this was his version of a polite smile, there was a lot of work to do. It looked precisely fabricated, but it completely missed the mark. You snorted, hiding a laugh behind your hand.
“Okay, cut it out,” you chuckled. “You look like a menace to society now.”
Your mind flew back to that one moment where he pressed his firm chest against your back, ostensibly with the intention of helping you with those books on the top shelf. The thought alone was enough to make your cheeks heat up again, but it also awakened a plan in your mind. Two could play that game.
     “Smile, Alhaitham. Smile!” you chimed.
You were going to make him smile today, even if it was the last thing you’d ever do.
Alhaitham’s expression relaxed after the weird grimace he put up, but his eyes widened when you reached out your hands. Beaming at him as you ignored the nervousness you felt, you put your index fingers on the corners of his mouth and gently tugged them upward a little. His brows jumped in surprise above his turquoise irises, and his entire body tensed over momentarily. In a swift movement, he whisked your wrists away using his hands, but the corners of his mouth didn’t drop when your hands were removed. A genuine smile rested on his lips, one filled with amusement.
“You really are something else, Y/N,” he chuckled, releasing your wrists.
You couldn’t help the smile that crossed your features, now that he offered you a smile that was as real as it could get. As if you were spellbound, you couldn’t take your eyes away, but you barely realized that you were staring, just as much as you failed to notice how he was staring right back at you. Momentarily, his strong and stoic demeanor had vanished, making room for a man who looked more open and approachable – and soft – than he ever did before. Your heart was pounding, captured and allured by the magic of that very moment.
Only when the bell above the door rang excitedly, you snapped out of your little daze. Alhaitham was the first one to avert his gaze, pushing himself off the hardwood floor and getting to his feet. Fortunately, you had been blocked from the customer’s view by a tall bookshelf. Imagine getting caught like that! The thought made you feel even more embarrassed than you already did. What just happened?
“Be honest, Y/N,” Alhaitham whispered. “Were you about to call me handsome earlier?”
Oh, he remembered? You wanted nothing but to vanish immediately.
“What if I did,” you huffed, crossing your arms.
“Hm,” the silver-haired male hummed. “Alright, back to work now.”
He walked away, leaving you in your crouched position on the floor. Your pulse was still racing, screeching against your vessels as you blushed furiously. But you had to collect yourself. You forced your hands to start moving, taking books off the shelf and putting them into a cardboard box to make room for others. Bemused, you fulfilled your task without seeing Alhaitham once. You only heard his voice when he helped the customer at the cash register – was it just you, or was he really trying to sound a little more lively? It sounded adorable in your ears.
The rest of your shift drew by slowly. A few customers walked in and out of the store, some actually buying something while others came only to browse. Either you or Alhaitham helped them at the counter, while the other remained focused on keeping the bookstore tidy and clean. You barely talked, which was strange, since you usually spent the time the store was void of customers together. It wasn’t long before you realized that he took occasional glances at you, but instead of looking away when you caught his stare, his turquoise gaze held yours. It made your heart flutter, and you couldn’t resist taking small peeks at him the entire time.
And then it was time to close the store for the day. The sky outside was darkening, and by the time you helped the last customers, the store was wrapped in a cozy light that came from various dangling ceiling lamps. You logged out of the digital cash register and checked the lock on the cash drawer while Alhaitham closed the front entrance. You kept brushing past each other as you prepared to close the shop, but hardly ever someone spoke a word. It was kind of strange, but you weren’t all that surprised after today’s little event. You weren’t stupid, you had seen the blush on Alhaitham’s face – it was there just as much as it had been on your cheeks.
You had managed to fluster your bookstore crush.
“It’s getting dark,” the silver-haired male pointed out, which was the first thing he said to you after quite some time. “Want me to walk you home?”
It wasn’t entirely necessary, and you would most likely be fine on your own. It was only a short walk to get to your home, and the neighborhood you had to pass through had a good reputation. You weren’t afraid of anything happening, but were you going to turn down his offer? No, of course not. That would be stupid. He walked you home more often, and you enjoyed it.
“I’d appreciate that,” you nodded. “Thanks.”
Together, you went to the back of the store, where you entered the employees only room. You collect your coat and other belongings, before leaving the store through the back door. The crisp outside air greeted you, and the sound of rush hour fell upon your eardrums. It was five pm, the time everyone went home. It was busy on the streets as you walked home, but no one spoke a word regardless. Why was it so quiet? Had today really left that deep of an impression on the both of you? You used to think Alhaitham was fairly unaffected by happenings such as today’s, but it seemed that he was rendered speechless by it just as much.
Even after a solid six minutes of walking, the tall male spoke up.
     “Y/N, I have a question,” he began.
“Shoot,” you said, your curiosity picked. You looked at him tentatively as you walked, unsure of what to expect. Would he talk about today? About what happened hidden behind that bookshelf, that moment that got rudely interrupted by the chime of the bell? You wanted him to address it, even though you had no idea what to say. You had acted on a whim.
“Did you ever change my contact name?” came the hesitant question.
You halted in your steps, looking at him with wide eyes. Out of all things, that was what he brought up? The answer would be embarrassing, because you never bothered to change his contact slot name – it was true, so why would you change it? On the other hand, you were convinced that Alhaitham was already well aware of your crush on him. Why else would he so boldly name himself that in your phone? You were stuck, contemplating what to do. Being honest was probably the best option here. Lying yourself out of situations wasn’t exactly your style. Alhaitham also stopped walking, and you stood there in the yellowish hue of a looming streetlight.
“I didn’t,” you admitted, studying the uneven pavement at your feet.
“May I ask why?” he asked. He looked at you, his face even as always.
You sucked in a deep breath. Be honest, Y/N, you told yourself. You got this! It was only confessing what was already oh so obvious. Alhaitham had a keen eye, he probably saw right through you the moment you stepped into the bookstore for the very first time. There was absolutely no point in denying it. Your co-worker was bold, now it was time for you to be as well. You got this!
“Because it’s the truth,” you bluntly replied. mimicking the tone he so often used. You flashed him a look to pinpoint his reaction, trying to come across nonchalantly. But your heart was racing, your cheeks were probably bright red at this point and you hoped that the streetlight didn’t fully expose your embarrassment. You wished you could hide how flustered you were, and you tried your hardest.
“I see,” Alhaitham said, his turquoise eyes on you and you only. “I’m asking you out, then.”
“R-Really?” you brought out, and your cheeks took an even intenser shade of red – was that even possible? “Why?”
“Isn’t that obvious, Y/N?” the silver-haired male sighed. “Are you that dense?”
     “I’m not,” you sputtered. “I’m just… surprised.”
Oh, you really were surprised. Though at the same time, you knew you could have seen it coming. The fact that he asked you to work with him in the bookstore, all the teasing he obviously did on purpose, the way he always made sure not to miss your reactions and how he always lingered close in the bookstore, seeming to observe you with solemn turquoise eyes, the stolen glances and longing gazes. And if those weren’t enough, there was today’s event – the first time you had seen him smile, the first time you ever saw him grow flustered. He was your bookstore crush, but you were also his.
“And I am nervous until you give me an answer,” Alhaitham deadpanned. “Being nervous is not like me at all.”
“Ah, I’m sorry,” you brought out quickly. “It’s a yes, of course.”
For the second time since meeting him, a smile ghosted over his features. It awakened a swarm of butterflies in your stomach, and you felt like you were afloat on cloud nine. Your bookstore crush wasn’t one-sided, but rather something that was reciprocated. Not only that, but the mysterious guy you grew so infatuated with just asked you out; you could positively combust of happiness. God, how grateful you were for the little mistake he had made in the beginning, putting the sign on the door on open instead of closed. Nothing of this would’ve happened, had he put the sign in the right position right away.
Who knew that such a simple, seemingly insignificant mistake, could lead to something so beautiful as possible love? You certainly didn’t, but you found yourself believing in strings of faith in that very moment.
As if to seal a solemn promise, Alhaitham took your hand in his. Though your hand was cold from the chilly autumn evening air, his were still fairly warm. His fingers intertwined with yours as he brought your connected hands up, pressing a chaste kiss to the back of your hand. You couldn’t help the massive smile that spread your cheeks, and there was a skip in your step when he gently urged you to start walking again. You stole a quick glance at your crush, and the stoic mask had made way for an expression that was far more open, relaxed. You had unfolded a new side of the male, one you couldn’t wait to get to know better.
You smiled fondly, one thing on your mind.
Your favorite book store really was a special place.

Is Terry the type to baby trap his beloved or would he just let it happen
---
Depends vastly of the circumstances.
He adapts.
Ideally, I feel Terry would, much like anyone else under the sun pretty much, deeply want for his partner to want to have his children more than anything else. To thank him for the opportunity. To be grateful. To look forward to it with every ounce of their being. Heck, to even beg, if possible, so he can relish the act, the attention and the supremacy he has over another living person being so enamored with him. He wants to draw that out of them. Incentify them. Inspire them. Be the only man they'd ever conceive having offspring with. But, if push came to shove, and they were hesitating, showing signs of being willing to slip away from his grasp somewhere in the near or distant future (ha-ha, nice try), giving out mixed signals, being hot and then cold? Not being dedicated enough to him and a future legacy? Hey, extreme situations require extreme measures, right? And this extreme situation calls upon him to do just do what he wants to do and simply impregnate beloved and ensure they're tied to him permanently, one way or another, seeing as how he ain't willing to relinquish something he desires and covets. He's gonna secure beloved one way or another, morality flying out the window. He relishes in either outcome, you see --- be it consensual in nature or of more dubious circumstances, because it's all sport either ways and whatever the method, however dark, however disturbed, he'll come out victorious. On top.
The ends justify the means, after all.
Of course, he can very easily use the oldest trick in the book and humbly state that a slip up happened and that --- boom --- beloved ended up pregnant seeing as how they weren't diligent enough to mutually take good care; simply something that happens in the heat of the moment and the height of passion and beloved does makes him oh so passionate, he might say (something that isn't a lie whatsoever, nonetheless, it's a serviceable tool to sell this story believably) --- still, it's hilarious that a control oriented perfectionist and micromanager like Terry would ever subscribe to accidents and overlooking something so crucial, regardless, he'll gaslight, he'll sweetly manipulate, he'll convince, he'll blame the fact that beloved makes him so horny that contraceptives just became an afterthought for a moment there and it's all a big part of his baby trapping scheme. To hide the fact this wasn't an innocent slip up and that he very much planned this all along; a need that only gets stronger and more pronounced as Terry Silver ages, I feel. He might think he's old and that as such, he's willing to lie, cheat and scam if it means securing himself at least an ounce of happiness by any means necessary as fast as possible, because time's running out and he's back is against the wall and that's bullshit. He doesn't like his back against the wall. He bites when he's against the wall. It's now or never. All the stars aligned. Love and desire and that one chance he's not gonna let go, becoming more insidious and unpredictable than ever.
But that is, he's just as willing to gloat over what he's done.
I think he cannot resist gloating (which is often this man's downfall).
It's in his nature to highlight the perverse and evil things he's done.
Enjoy himself while doing it.
Beloved might be there with their newborn and Terry could very well be barely containing himself from just looking them straight in the eye and telling them that he's done what he's done because it was pre-planned that it would pan out like this all along because he always gets what he wants the way he wants it. Heck, the idea alone makes him hard with absolute rotten glee.

The Sun Says Hello - Omori fanfic - Part 2
(Essentially an Omori fanfic where the events are told from Kel’s POV. Some changes to the story for the sake of me wanting to make this a Suntan fanfic 🧡🖤)
Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kel took in a deep breath. He’s tried knocking on Sunny’s door many times before. He was always ignored. And he was emotionally preparing himself to handle the rejection again.
He knocked on the door a couple of times before resting his closed fist on the door, taking a deep gulp and praying that Sunny will answer.
But he was used to the rejection.
He was used to being ignored.
He was used to getting his hopes up…
But, what he wasn’t used to.. was a response.
The door slowly creaked open and the moon finally became a crescent.
Upon seeing Sunny, Kel was in shock. He was here. In front of him. This was really happening! Kel felt like he was dreaming.
He took a second to look at Sunny. He was wearing very simple clothes, but surprisingly.. formal? More formal than what you would wear if you were lounging around the house all the time.
Actually, now that he thought about it, the outfit looked a lot like the clothes Sunny had laid out for him to wear to the recital…
Kel quickly shook those thoughts out of his brain.
He looked at Sunny’s face. Had he.. always been that pale? And were his cheeks always so sunken in? And the hollows in his eyes… and he was so skinny and frail.. and.. and the bandages on his arms…
“Sunny!” Kel quickly said, doing everything he can to not scare him off. Don’t ask about his appearance.. it’ll scare him off. I just got him back.. “You actually came out!” he exclaimed and wanted to slap himself for how rude that sounded. “Er, I mean.. uh.. ok, I’m, uh.. going to be honest with you, Sunny. I.. really didn’t expect you to come out.. so I don’t really have a game plan here.” It was embarrassing. But after having all of his prayers ignored, Sunny actually coming out sounded something straight out of a dream.
Sunny was already beginning to retreat behind the door, so in a desperate attempt to keep him from leaving again, Kel says, “Hey, I know! Let’s go to Hobeez!” Seriously, Kel?! He hasn’t been outside in 4 years and your idea of a fun hangout is Hobeez?!
“Um, uh.. you remember the way there, right?” he said, attempting to remain smiley and cheerful.
Sunny hesitated, gripping the doorknob and glanced back into his house.
Please don’t go back inside.. I haven’t seen you in so long.. I can’t let you leave without spending at least one day with me.. please… please…
Obviously, he said none of that outloud. He couldn’t.. that would make him sound embarrassingly desperate.
So when Sunny stepped out of his doorway, Kel felt his heart skip a beat and he felt like he was on cloud nine.
“All right! Let’s head on over there!”
He let Sunny lead the way. They walked past the park and Sunny stopped for a moment to observe his surroundings, squinting constantly as his eyes tried to readjust to the sunlight.
He is so pale. I need to help him get some vitamin c.
Sunny kept pausing on the sidewalk, staring into nothingness, as if he saw a ghost, before taking a deep breath and continuing to walk.
But what really caught Kel off guard was when Sunny scooped up a pile of trash. At first, Kel though Sunny was just being a good citizen and throwing away litter, but before he even had a chance to pat him on the back for his good deed, Sunny held it up like he just won a prize and stuffed the garbage into his pockets.
Kel really felt like he should’ve said something then. Maybe ask him what was going through that head of his. But, of course, he didn’t.
I don’t want to scare him off.. I can’t scare him off. I just got him back.. but.. WHAT THE HECK IS HE THINKING?!
It frustrated him to no end to have no idea. To only be left guessing. Sunny is.. was his best friend. He used to be able to read him like a book. What’s changed?!
…Oh ya..
Kel always blocked that memory from his brain. Repressed it with lock and key.
He glanced at Sunny and felt like a flash of light shine through his eyes and his brain as he remembered that day.
“S-Sunny..” Kel choked out as he crawled to his friend, wet, dew covered grass staining his skin and clothes. “Don’t.. don’t cry. This is all just a bad dream…”
Aubrey was sobbing after having just throwing up, Hero was standing in place with a blank, stiff expression, and Basil was shaking like a leaf.
Kel’s main concern right now was to comfort Sunny.
“That’s not Mari…” Kel whispered, trying to remain hopeful. “That’s no one.. it’s just a prank.. a really, really… bad.. prank..” Kel did everything he could to not break into tears. Hero was usually the strong one, but he’s shut down. So Kel will step into that position. “You’re going to b-be ok, Sunny…”
Sunny looked up slowly. He didn’t even look sad. Just.. guilty.
“There’s Something behind you..” he whispered.
And Kel turned to see what he meant.
And then he really saw her. He really absorbed in the view of her hanging like a tire swing, the wind in her Raven black hair as it hung over her dull eyes.
He tightly clutched Sunny’s shoulder and choked. And he screamed.
The sun did not shine that day.
Kel shook the memory from his head.
Just don’t think about it, Kel! he thought. Focus on the now! Sunny is here, with you, in Hobeez! And after so many years!
“Maybe we can go to the park after this!” Kel offered. “Sound fun? We can even maybe go to our old hangout spot and see if it’s still there!”
Sunny looked down, as if he really wasn’t sure. Kel crossed his fingers and, to his luck, Sunny nodded ‘yes’.
“Yay!” Kel exclaimed joyfully. “I-I mean.. great! Let’s go!”
He let Sunny lead the way again. He wanted to let him have some form of control. After.. everything, he could imagine that Sunny probably needed that type of feeling, even if it was something as simple as leading the way. Kel didn’t know.. he just wanted to make Sunny comfortable and happy..
They stopped at the park and Kel breathed in the smell of the grass and trees. “Love this place!” he exclaimed before turning to Sunny. “You missed this place?” he asked.
Sunny shrugged slightly and Kel smiled sympathetically. “Ya, well.. I missed hanging out with you here!” Kel said, slinging an arm around Sunny’s shoulders.
“Now, let’s see..” he spotted a couple of people he recognized, including one of his classmates.
“You wanna play basketball with me?” he asked.
Kel laughed and shook his head. “Sorry, man. I’m hanging out with my childhood friend, Sunny!”
He noticed from the corner of his eyes that Sunny seemed ever so slightly embarrassed. Almost guilty. Kel clenched his fists and made a mental note to make sure that Sunny always feels included to avoid having Sunny feeling guilty that Kel is spending time with him.
Kel’s thoughts were put to a halt, however, when he heard a loud scream of someone yelling, “Please stop!”
Kel, someone who believes in Justice, immediately ran toward the noise and saw her.
Of all people.. he was really hoping Sunny wouldn’t have to see what she has become.
“Aubrey..” whimpered a boy that Aubrey and her gang was surrounding. “Please go away..”
Kel’s heart dropped when he realized who it was.
“Basil!” he exclaimed. He turned to Aubrey with a sharp glare. “Leave him alone, Aubrey!”
She turned to him, her bright blue contacts glowing like cat eyes. “Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in.”
She glanced over at the figure looming behind Kel and her eyebrows shot up.
“Sunny?!” Aubrey yelled. Her friends looked at her, confused, and she quickly composed herself. “I mean.. look who actually decided to come outside..” she said, crossing her arms. “Never thought I’d see you again.” She tilted her head to the side and smirked. “Thought you may have died or something..”
Kel took a protective step forward. “Knock it off, Aubrey.”
She rolled her eyes and put her hand on her hip as she threw her nailed baseball bat over her shoulder. “Shut up, Kel.”
“Why are you like this? We used to be friends!”
Kel has been asking her this question for years. And she answered with the usual response.
“People change, Kel. And note the words ‘used to be’.”
He growled and tried to step in between her and her friends. “Just let Basil go.”
“Ha! I don’t think so.”
“Aubrey…”
She glowered at him and lunged forward to attack.
A fight has started.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year
Tumblr media

genre: pure fluff, literally nothing else
warnings: almost swearing in jisung's, lmk if there's anything else <3
summary: the boys each have different ways of celebrating this time of the year, but all are special and shows how soft christmas really gets them
Chan
Near the start of November, you and Chan had been having a quiet night when he had gotten a call out of the blue. At first you didn’t pay any mind. He always got a lot of calls, whether it was from the members or staff was the question. But it caught your attention when you heard him greet the sudden caller as ‘mum’. You had met his family on multiple occasions and each time you were met with no less than the utmost kindness and inclusivity. They knew Chan loved you, and that you loved him just as much, so they made sure that they felt like family in everything they did. They were nicer than humanly possible! As Chan spoke with his mum on the phone, you couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity creeping in. His conversations with family usually weren't a cause for concern, but this unexpected call sparked a different kind of interest. You carefully observed Chan's expressions as he chatted with his mum. He seemed to be smiling, occasionally laughing, and from what you could gather, it appeared to be a pleasant conversation. Afterwards, you immediately pestered him about it and it turned out they wanted the both of you to come over to Australia for the holidays. The idea of spending Christmas with Chan's family was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. But nevertheless, preparations were made, and tickets were booked.
And here you were. A perfectly Australian, Christmas barbeque with your boyfriend and his family, in the backyard. But it wasn’t just his parents and siblings, no, no, no. Everyone was there. From grandparents to aunts and uncles, from cousins to nieces and nephews, everyone.
“Channie, have you ever even met half these people before?” You whispered, leaning over to reach his ear. “You said it would be just a small get together.”
“This is a small get together. There’s only like, 4 or 5 people I haven’t talked to before tonight.” He said normally, not bothering to whisper back.
You rolled your eyes as you scanned the sea of unfamiliar faces, each one seemingly more enthusiastic and cheerful than the last. As the lively chatter and laughter filled the air, you took a deep breath, attempting to steel yourself for the social extravaganza that lay ahead. The aroma of the barbecue and the sound of distant laughter from children playing created a festive backdrop to the gathering, but your focus remained on the daunting task of navigating through this sea of extended family. Chan, oblivious to your internal struggle, continued to mingle effortlessly. He greeted each relative with familiarity, sharing stories and laughter that echoed through the backyard. You admired his ability to navigate the intricate web of familial connections, wondering how you could ever fit in. But when you went to refill your drink, thankfully, a more familiar face showed up.
“Oh, hey Hannah. You having fun?”
“Hmm, yeah. You?”
“Kinda. Would be better if I knew at least some of these people.”
“Oh, damn. It’s okay, you’ll get to know them better in the future. Congratulations by the way.”
Congratulations? What was she congratulating you for? You hadn’t had a promotion at work recently, and there was nothing big happening right now. Heck, you hadn’t even done anything interesting for the longest time.
“Wha- huh? What did I do?” You questioned, turning to face her, but alas, she had already run off into the crowd. But looking closer, you realised a lot of the partygoers had their eyes on you, even if they weren’t straight up staring. Glances here and there, or watching you out of the side of their eye. What in the world is happening?
“Everyone, hello! I’d like to make a small speech!” The backyard quieted down at the sound of Chan’s voice resonating through the area. You wiggled your way through the crowd and up to the front, where he stood.
“I know I haven’t been here for a long while, and I’ve missed you all. Most of you know that I brought my lovely partner here with me so they could see why I hold you all close to my heart.” A smile graced your face at his words. Even if you were a bit scared to mingle with them, you had seen how caring and embracing they had been.
“Y/N, could you please come up here?”
You looked at him curiously but walked over to take your place next to him. You noticed a twinkle in his eye that you hadn’t seen for a while, especially when he spent his days working. You’d missed it.
“Now, we’ve been together for a good while and I wanted to give you a little gift to help you remember your visit here. Forever.” He said more to himself than anyone else. You could hear the whispers and giggles of the crowd but before you could say anything, a pair of hands were wrapping a blindfold around your head.
“Sorry about this, he wanted it to be real special.” You recognised the whisper as Lucas’ voice and now your confusion knew no limits.
“And… take it off.” You couldn’t see it, but you knew Chan was smiling when he said it. The cloth came off and your eyes instantly shot downwards to where Chan was kneeling. Wait, kneeling? It was only then did you notice the small box in his hand. You covered your mouth with your hands, the tears already forming in your eyes.
“Come on, don’t cry. I haven’t even asked yet!” He laughed. Everyone had been in on this, hadn’t they? This is what Hannah meant, this is why people were looking. Everything made so much more sense.
“Chris, do not play around right now…” You had forgotten about everyone else, only remembering after hearing a few chuckles amidst them.
“Okay, okay… Y/N L/N, the love of my life, my dearest one ever, my soulmate-”
“Christopher.”
“Hahah, fine..!”
A beat of silence as he opened the box, revealing a simple yet perfect ring.
“Will you marry me..?”
“Yes.”
Minho
“Aww, who’s a good kitty?”
The voice had confused him. That didn’t sound like any of the employees that worked here. An intern, maybe? Another volunteer? But they hadn’t gotten anyone new in ages. Who could it be? He glanced around quickly but there was no one in his area of the shelter. Still suspicious, he squatted down again and turned his attention back to the cats in front of him.
“Sorry about that. I guess I’m going crazy.” He murmured, mostly to the cats but perhaps to himself as well. That’s the only explanation to what was happening anyways, there's no way someone else is here with him.
Away from all the staff.
In a secluded area of the shelter.
He got up with a sigh and began to walk towards the door, keeping an eye out for any intruders. He closed the door, but not before looking both ways. As he walked back to the playpen, there was another sound, but not a voice. He recognised the sound; a cat’s carrier had been opened. One of the newly rescued ones. In a heartbeat, he had picked up a wooden brush and held it close to his chest. He stepped carefully and silently, moving closer to the source of the noise. But he hadn't realised how close to a cabinet he was getting. He fell back onto it, causing the contents to shuffle and the noises from before to cease. He kept as still as a dead man, which is what he could become any second now. Nonetheless, he continued forward again, because he was not about to let someone hurt or take one of these cats. He heard soft footsteps and leaned back against the wall, shutting his eyes tightly and praying to anyone that he might survive tonight. At least, if he did die, it'd be in a place he loved with those he loved.
"Uhm... are you alright?" He opened his eyes to see another, very not-dangerous looking person standing in front of him. You looked up at him with a curiosity that, in turn, made him curious.
"You're not-... o-oh, yeah. I'm fine." He mumbled, relaxing his shoulders and loosening his grip on the brush. "I haven't seen you here before. Who are you?"
"You got your confidence back quickly, eh? Well, I'm here to volunteer. You too?"
"Mhm. Is this your first time?"
"First time at this shelter, yeah. I moved here recently but I used to volunteer there as well." Minho smiled at your words. A fellow cat lover, eh? And a gorgeous one at that.
“I’m Minho. Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise. I’m Y/N.”
Minho couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and embarrassment as he realised that the mysterious voice and presence he sensed earlier were just those of a fellow volunteer. He chuckled nervously, feeling a bit silly for getting so worked up over a potential intruder.
"Sorry for the overreaction back there. I thought someone was sneaking around, and I got a bit paranoid," Minho explained, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish smile. You laughed, a warm and friendly sound that immediately put Minho at ease.
"No worries! I guess I startled you. I was just checking on the new arrivals. They can be a bit shy, you know?" Minho nodded, feeling grateful for the company.
"Yeah, they're still adjusting. Some of them had a rough time before coming here. It's good to have someone else who cares about them."
For a moment, the two of you just stared at each other in silence, both subconsciously observing the other. Then, before either of you could speak again, an actual staff member popped out from behind the door.
“Minho can you- oh, you guys have already met! Y/N here is a new volunteer. Well, thanks for the help tonight! You guys can head home early, it’s Christmas Eve after all.” Minho cringed internally at the reminder. Christmas this year was gonna be a pain. He turned to get his stuff as the staff member left, and then waited for you by the door.
"Are you busy?" He asked, looking you straight in the eye. It was a little nerve-wracking, having someone so openly stare at your face.
"Nope. Wanna grab a bite? It's already 8:30, and I sure am hungry."
"Is this a date?" Your face flushes and you look away at the floor. It sounded that way, hadn't it? To be fair, he was a handsome man and he seemed to have the same passions as you. You let out a small chuckle in response.
"Ah, n-no..! Just... do you want to get something to eat?"
"... why not. Let's go, I'll pay."
And after a comfortably silent walk, the two of you had sat down outside a small cafe, eating and talking.
"You didn't have to pay for me. I have my own money."
"Yeah, I know. That's why I'm expecting you to pay me back." He chuckled, raising an eyebrow. You sighed playfully and continued to eat and savour the moment. It’s not like you were doing anything important tomorrow.
"Got any Christmas plans?"
"Asking me on another date, while we're on a date?"
"Man, just answer the question." he smiled at your reply, but it faded as he thought about it more. This time round, Christmas wasn’t as… Christmassy as he had hoped it would be.
"No. All my friends and family are on holidays elsewhere. It's just me and my cats."
"Same. Wait- cats? You have your own cats?"
"Mhm. Soonie, Doongie and Dori."
"3?! Wow, I just have to meet them one day..."
"Come over tomorrow then." He said simply, not looking up from his food. You didn't respond at first. You couldn't. He's really inviting you over? You've only known each other for a night! He could just be doing this to let you see the cats… but still!
"Haha, are you asking me on a date now?" you teased, not expecting what came next.
"Yeah, I am. Can I get your number?"
Now you really didn't know what to say. He’s so calm and collected, no sign of hesitation at all. Yeah, he was handsome, and sure he was good with animals, but who knows what you were getting yourself into? Getting your heart broke was not one of your New Year's resolutions. But you'd rather spend Christmas with someone. You were just going to trust your gut feeling with this one.
"Sure. Wanna have dinner at yours tomorrow?"
"Sounds good to me. Also- Thank you... so much."
“It’s my pleasure… now, back to Soongie, Doongie and Dori, was it?”
Changbin
The winter sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow over the snowy landscape. Excitement filled the air as you set out to create the perfect snowman, armed with scarves, hats, and a carrot for its nose. You had told Changbin that you wanted to make a perfect snowman before Christmas, and were waiting for a miracle. The weather forecast had said that there would be a small chance of snowfall this Christmas, and you were more than excited to say the least. But alas, the snow never came. You’d have to wait until January, after all the festivities were done and the holiday spirit was fading. Your hopes for a perfect white Christmas and perfect snowman were crushed. But Changbin couldn’t bear to see you disappointed, even in the slightest, so he spent his days secretly searching for the best time of day to build one, what size the body and head should be, even figuring out how to compress the snow to get them to stay in shape. So here you both were. Christmas might have passed, but he was determined to make you happy.
“This looks like a nice place to start.” Changbin pointed to a spot in the clearing, his breath visible in the crisp winter air. Despite the delayed timing, excitement bubbled within you as you and Changbin began rolling the first ball of snow for the snowman's base. Changbin, ever the meticulous planner, explained the intricacies of snowman construction with a twinkle in his eye. You listened with amusement as he detailed the ideal size for each section, the right consistency for the snow, and the importance of compacting it just right.
“How do you know all this, Binnie?” You asked, a playfully sceptical grin forming on your lips.
“Ah, you know… uhm, I’ve seen things here and there…” He lied sheepishly, dismissing your question as quickly as possible. “Let’s get started, or we’ll be here until midnight.”
As you rolled the second and third sections, Changbin sneaked glances at you, trying to gauge your reaction. He knew you had your heart set on a snowman, and he was determined to make it happen. With each roll of snow, the two of you exchanged laughter and banter. The clearing echoed with the joy of creating something magical out of the winter landscape. As the snowman's form took shape, Changbin's enthusiasm became infectious, and soon you found yourself fully immersed in the whimsy of the moment. But as you went to top the snowman off with the head, you felt a sudden hit of snow on your back. Turning to see what it was, you saw your boyfriend standing behind you, staring out into nothing and glancing at you occasionally.
“Bin… was that you?” You questioned. Changbin feigned innocence, trying to suppress a mischievous grin.
"Me? No, it must have been a giant snowflake that fell off a branch or something." You raised an eyebrow, unconvinced.
"Uh-huh, a giant snowflake with impeccable aim… Say, if I turn around will another ‘snowflake’ get me?" Changbin's eyes twinkled with mischief as he considered your question.
"Well, you never know. Snowflakes can be quite unpredictable." With a playful smile, you turned around again, fully expecting another surprise attack. And right on cue, a snowball landed on your shoulder. You laughed, spinning back to face Changbin, who was now trying to stifle his laughter.
"I see how it is," you teased, scooping up some snow and forming a retaliatory snowball. Before he could even say anything, the cold impact had already hit him, smack-bang in the face. Changbin's eyes widened in mock surprise as the snowball hit its mark, leaving a dusting of snow on his face. You burst into laughter, revelling in the playful exchange of snow projectiles.
"Oh, you're asking for it now!" Changbin declared, wiping the snow off his face with a grin. He swiftly gathered more snow in his hands. You, sensing the impending snow assault, tried to dodge, but Changbin's aim was surprisingly accurate. Another snowball hit you on the arm, and a delightful mixture of laughter and playful shouts filled the air as the impromptu snowball fight continued. The clearing transformed into a winter battlefield, with the snowman standing witness to the skirmish. Changbin, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, took cover behind the snowman you had just built. You, undeterred by Changbin's strategic move, gathered more snow and prepared for a sneak attack. As you approached the snowman, Changbin peeked out from behind its snowy form, ready to defend his makeshift fortress. With a quick, well-aimed throw, you launched a snowball directly at Changbin, hitting him square on the chest. He let out a mock yelp, stumbling backward but quickly regaining his composure.
The snowball fight continued, escalating in intensity as both of you engaged in a flurry of snow projectiles. The snowman, with its carrot nose and stylish accessories, stood in the midst of the winter chaos like a silent spectator. Eventually, both of you found yourselves lying in the snow, breathless and covered in a light dusting of snow. The evening sun had dipped below the horizon, casting the clearing in a tranquil twilight glow.
Changbin extended a hand towards you, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "Truce?" You took his hand, and the two of you stood up, sharing a moment of laughter and camaraderie. The snowman, though slightly misshapen from the collateral snowball hits, stood as a symbol of the unexpected joy found in the simplest of moments.
"Maybe our snowman got caught in the crossfire," you remarked, surveying the snowy aftermath.
Changbin chuckled, brushing off some snow from your shoulder. "Well, it adds character. Our snowman has a story now." You chuckled, studying the snowman. Though it was far from what you envisioned it to look like, you didn’t mind.
“Yeah. Also, thanks for this, Binnie. I love you.”
Hyunjin
The cosy warmth of home enveloped you and Hyunjin as the festive season descended upon your shared space. You and Hyunjin had decided to turn ornament making into a small, Christmas date, spreading the vibrant chaos of ribbons, sequins, and paint across your living room. The air was filled with the scent of pine and the soft melody of holiday tunes that played in the background, creating the perfect ambiance for a day of shared creativity. As the two of you settled on the living room floor, surrounded by an array of colourful ribbons, glittering sequins, and jars filled with every hue imaginable, the possibilities seemed endless. Hyunjin's nimble fingers held the brush tight as it glided over the surface of the ornaments, transforming them into miniature works of art. Meanwhile, you struggled to match his finesse, attempting to channel your inner artist. Each stroke of his brush transformed the plain baubles into miniature works of art, dazzling with intricate details.
On the other hand, you were on a mission to unlock your inner artist, determined to create something that would stand alongside Hyunjin's masterpieces without looking too out of place. The room, filled with the soft sound of the gentle crackling of the fireplace, became a sanctuary for creativity. Your fingers clung over the brushes, and you experimented with different colour combinations, attempting to capture the magic that seemed to flow effortlessly from Hyunjin's hands. Except they just didn’t work out like you had hoped they would. Each stroke on the ornament felt like a battle against your own artistic inhibitions. The colours didn't blend seamlessly, and the patterns you attempted to create looked more like chaotic swirls than intentional designs. As you struggled to make sense of the colours on your palette, a playful frustration built up within you. The ornaments on the table showcased a stark contrast — Hyunjin's intricate designs and your attempts that seemed to be a kaleidoscope gone astray. A teasing smile played on Hyunjin's lips as he glanced over at your creation. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he reached over and gently poked your side, making you jump. You had only then noticed how far his bauble had progressed.
“Ugh, yours looks so good.”
"Not my fault my hands have been blessed and yours haven't," he quipped, his voice dripping with playful arrogance. You rolled your eyes, unable to suppress a chuckle.
"Oh please, Mr. Picasso," you retorted, poking him back. "I'm just getting started. My masterpiece is a work in progress." Hyunjin continued to work on his ornament, a smirk playing on his face. He held up his creation for you to see—a dazzling bauble adorned with intricate patterns and vibrant colours. It only needed a few touch ups and it would be perfect.
"Admit it, mine's better," he declared, the teasing tone in his voice undeniable. You sighed in mock defeat, feigning a pout.
"Fine, fine. Your ornament is a masterpiece, a true work of art. Mine is just… this." Hyunjin wanted to continue his cocky act, but when he sensed a bit of genuine sadness in your tone. He saw how you glanced between the two baubles with a glum look in your eyes, though you just continued to smile.
“Jagi, it’s okay if yours doesn’t turn out the way you want it to.” Hyunjin set aside his nearly finished ornament, his playful demeanour giving way to a more comforting one. He could sense your genuine frustration and didn't want the day to be overshadowed by a sense of disappointment. With a gentle touch, he nudged you affectionately.
"Hey, it's not about who creates the 'better' ornament. We're here to enjoy the process together and create memories," he reassured, his voice softening. "Besides, art is subjective, and your creation is unique in its own way." Your eyes met his, and you couldn't help but smile at the sincerity in his gaze. Hyunjin always had a way of making you feel seen and valued. After a few minutes of concentrated effort, you held up your creation, a satisfied glint in your eye.
"What do you think now?" you asked, presenting your bauble, which now boasted a unique charm. Hyunjin smiled widely, reaching over to hold it himself.
“See, it turned out great!” he said, handing it back to you after careful observation. Your eyes lit up with a mix of surprise and gratitude as you took the ornament back into your hands. Hyunjin's words and supportive gesture melted away the lingering doubts, and a genuine sense of accomplishment washed over you. Maybe it wasn't a mirror image of Hyunjin's masterpiece, but it held a charm and personality that was distinctly yours.
"I guess it does have its own unique vibe," you admitted, a genuine smile replacing the mock defeat on your face. The room, now filled with a harmonious blend of creativity and shared laughter, seemed to sparkle with the magic of the season.
“Let’s go hang them on the tree, I don’t want to wait until they dry!” Hyunjin's suggestion sparked a renewed excitement, and you both gathered your creations, ready to add your unique touch to the Christmas tree. The ornaments, still slightly wet with paint, reflected the vibrant colours of your shared experience. As you approached the tree, its branches adorned with twinkling lights and a mix of cherished ornaments from previous years. Hyunjin joined you, and together you carefully hung the ornaments on the tree, finding the perfect spots for each one. As you stepped back to admire your handiwork, the ornaments seemed to tell a story of a day filled with laughter, love, and the shared spirit of the holiday season. Hyunjin's arm found its way around your waist, and you both stood there, basking in the glow of the decorated tree. The room, now transformed into a festive haven, echoed with the soft crackling of the fireplace and the distant sound of carolers spreading cheer in the neighbourhood.
"I think our tree has never looked better," Hyunjin remarked, his eyes sparkling with appreciation. You nodded in agreement, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction in the simple yet meaningful act of decorating together.
“I think you’re right. Merry Christmas, Jinnie.”
Jisung
“Pass me the green one. No, the other green one. No, the other, other green one.”
You sighed, walking over to where he stood on the couch, attempting to decorate the highest part of the tree and passed him the other, other green bauble.
“Are you sure you don’t need any help, Sungie? You look like you’re struggling.” you teased, walking over to get a closer look at your boyfriend and his hard work.
Jisung turned to look at you with a grin, “Well, it’s not my fault I’m vertically challenged. Gimme that shiny red one, would you?”
You joined in the festive activity, passing him more ornaments as he continued to decorate. But as the two of you talked and teased, neither managed to keep track of exactly how much was going onto the tree. After a while, you couldn't help but notice that it was practically overflowing with decorations.
"Y’know, I think that's enough ornaments," you suggested, eyeing the now heavily adorned tree.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "Jagi, be real. You can never have too many decorations. It’s Christmas anyways so let me have my fun, you party pooper."
You raised an eyebrow and laughed at his enthusiasm, "If you say so. But let's at least save some space for the star. It's the crowning glory, after all." You continued to hand him ornament after ornament, and he happily added them all to the festive explosion that was happening on the tree.
Jisung, fueled by holiday spirit and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, decided to take things up a notch. "What if we add some tinsel? The more, the merrier, right?" he suggested, reaching for a box of shimmering silver strands.
You watched as he generously draped the tinsel over the branches, creating a dazzling cascade that almost looked like a waterfall of silver. "You really have a talent for turning a simple tree into a masterpiece," you admitted, genuinely impressed by his festive fervour, but also a little concerned with how this tree was ever going to hold all of this up.
“Now… the star. Can I put it on this year?” He asked, an intense sense of holiday spirit emanating from him. You grinned, realising that the tree had already taken on a life of its own with the multitude of decorations. "Sure, go ahead. Just promise me you won't tip the whole thing over in the process."
Jisung laughed, nodding in agreement. He carefully retrieved the shining star topper from the box, his eyes gleaming with excitement. As he reached up to crown the tree, you couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and joy in the air.
“Almost there… oh shi-”
“Jisung-!”
It was as if time slowed down as you saw the sight before you. There was nothing you could do to stop it. You watched in horror as your boyfriend toppled forward, hands covering his chest whilst pushing against the tree. You felt so many emotions in the span of 5 seconds, and could only stand and stare back at the now tinsel covered Jisung on the floor.
“Uhm… oops..!”
You burst into laughter, unable to contain it any longer, with Jisung following suit, still tangled in the tinsel with a sheepish grin on his face. The once majestic Christmas tree now lay on its side, a glorious mess of ornaments, tinsel, and lights scattered around the room.
“Well, that’s one way to make the holidays memorable,” you said between fits of laughter, kneeling down to help him up. He chuckled, brushing off the tinsel from his clothes.
“I guess I got a bit carried away with the decorating. Next time, we should probably use less ornaments.” You both worked together to upright the tree, and despite its slightly lopsided appearance, it still radiated the charm of a tree that had witnessed a unique holiday mishap.
“Maybe we should start a new tradition,” Jisung suggested, looking at the chaotic masterpiece. “The Great Christmas Tree Tumble” You couldn’t help but laugh at the idea.
“Sure, why not? It’s funny seeing you fall like that anyways."
Felix
'Twas the night before Christmas, and the scent of freshly baked cookies filled Felix's cosy kitchen. The warmth of the oven embraced the room, and the holiday spirit danced in the air. He had invited you to come and join him in this festive tradition. As the two friends gathered ingredients and prepared the cookie dough, laughter echoed through the kitchen. Felix wore a festive apron adorned with gingerbread men and candy canes, while you sported an equally cheerful one with reindeers. Together, you created a magical atmosphere, blending the excitement of Christmas with the joy of friendship. You two had been friends for ages and have spent countless Christmases together. The dough was rolled out, and soon the kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of sugar and spice. Felix handed you a cookie cutter shaped like a snowflake, and together you cut out dozens of delicate, wintry shapes.
The anticipation of enjoying these sweet treats added an extra sprinkle of happiness to your holiday celebration. Especially since it had been some time since they’ve had some alone time. While the cookies baked, Felix prepared a variety of colourful frostings in vibrant hues of red, green, and white. The kitchen table transformed into a decorating station, with bowls of sprinkles, chocolate chips, and other delightful toppings waiting to adorn the freshly baked cookies. Once the cookies had cooled, the two of you dove into the artistic process of frosting and decorating. The cookies became miniature canvases, and together you created edible masterpieces. Felix's skilled hands guided your own in creating intricate designs, turning each cookie into a unique work of art. At one point, he had accidentally swiped his frosting cover hand across your face, leaving a trail of red and green along your nose and cheek. You blinked in surprise, and then burst into laughter. Felix, unable to resist the infectious joy, followed suit and ended up getting some on his own face.
As the night unfolded, both of you completed your festive cookie decorating. The kitchen sparkled with the glow of holiday lights, and a plate full of beautifully decorated cookies stood as a testament to your withstanding friendship. The two of you dug into the beautifully crafted cookies, and simply sat down and talked.
“That was so much fun! I don’t know why I don’t join your baking sessions more often.” You said, taking a bite out of another cookie. How many you had eaten, you weren’t sure, but you were definitely sure that they were amazing.
“I can text you next time. We can make brownies or something!” You nodded, savouring the sweetness of both the cookies and the moment. The warmth of the kitchen and the glow of friendship surrounded you, creating a bubble of joy that seemed to transcend time. The holidays had a magical way of bringing people together, and in that cosy kitchen, the magic was palpable.
“So… anything new in your life that you haven’t told me yet?”
“Ah well, my boyfriend broke up with me like, a month ago? But yeah, spending Christmas alone this year, haha…” Felix's expression softened, and he reached out to give your hand a reassuring squeeze.
"I had no idea, I'm so sorry to hear that. But hey, you're not alone tonight. You're here with me, and we've got a kitchen full of cookies to lift our spirits.” You managed a small smile, appreciating the comfort in Felix's words. What you didn’t know is that Felix was planning as you spoke. He didn’t want to admit it but he was somewhat glad that you had gotten rid of that guy.
"Thanks, Felix. It's just a bit weird navigating the holiday season solo."
“It doesn’t have to be solo. You can spend it with me”
You look up at him and there is a glint of something in his eye, something you can’t quite put your finger on.
“You know what I mean, Lix. Spending Christmas with someone is great, but I wanna spend it with that someone.” You explain. You appreciated his effort though. He was always someone you could rely on to make your day better.
“I know. And I’m saying, I can be that someone.” He says plainly. You look for any signs of trickery but he seems so genuine in his words. Looking back down, you fidget with your fingers, trying to figure out what he was playing at.
“If you’re doing this out of pity, there’s no need. I’m fine, I promise Lixie.”
“It’s not out of pity. I’m saying this because I love you. More than just a friend.” Your head shoots back up in an instant. What did he say?
He loves you? He loves you? He loves you?
“I invited you to make cookies because I want to spend time with you. I didn’t accidentally get frosting on your nose. I wanted a reason to hold you close. Even if it was just cleaning it off, I was happy. Because you were happy just doing something with me. And I want to keep doing things with you, because it makes me happy. And I just-” Before he could continue, you cut him off by cupping his cheek and placing a swift kiss to his forehead. He looked at you in shock, but his eyes were shining brighter than ever before.
“Can I…?” You whispered and he nodded eagerly. You leaned in and so did he, and the two of you met in the middle for an electrifying kiss. You held on tightly to his cheek and his hand found its way to your waist, pulling you closer. The two of you pulled away, and smiled widely at each other.
“Well… I- uh, I-I didn’t know you felt that way too and can I just say-” He starts but you stop him with a small kiss to his nose.
“No need for explanations. Are you still willing to spend Christmas with me?”
“Of course! Are you?”
“I think I made that kind of obvious… but yeah. I am.”
Seungmin
Seungmin leaned back into the plush cushions of the couch, feeling the cool night air seeping in through the slightly open window. The soft glow of the moon spilled into the room, casting a gentle ambiance that wrapped around the two figures sitting there. The air was filled with the comforting scent of hot chocolate, steam rising from the mugs cradled in their hands.
His dearest jagi, the love of his life, you, who he hadn't spent quality time with in ages, sat across from him. Seungmin took a sip of his hot chocolate, the warmth spreading through him, chasing away the chill of the night.
The two of you found yourselves wrapped in the cosy embrace of blankets on the couch, the dim light casting a soft glow around the room. The night outside was nice and cold, but within the confines of your shared space, a warmth enveloped you. The air was filled with the rich aroma of hot chocolate, the mugs cradled in your hands adding an extra layer of comfort.
Seungmin leaned back, his eyes reflecting the gentle flicker of the candlelight. The atmosphere was serene, a stark contrast to the bustling world outside your haven. The silence was almost tangible, broken only by the occasional crackling of the fireplace and the subtle sounds of the night.
“How have you been lately?”
“Almost 3 months, and that’s what you’re asking?”
You looked into Seungmin's eyes, the flickering candlelight casting a soft glow on his features matching the aura of the room. Yet a warm smile played on your lips as you considered his question. The quiet intimacy of the moment made it easy to open up.
"I've been okay," you replied, the sincerity evident in your voice. "Life's been busy, as always, but being here with you like this makes everything feel just right. How about you, Min? How's everything on your end?" Seungmin's gaze softened as he listened, and he reached over to gently intertwine his fingers with yours.
"It's been hectic, but right now? Everything feels perfect. I've missed these quiet times with you. It's like a breath of fresh air." He chuckled softly, the sound resonating in the cosy space around you.
"I've missed it too, Minnie. I’ve missed you. These moments really remind me of what’s important." Seungmin's smile widened at your words, and he squeezed your hand affectionately. The warmth of the moment seemed to intensify as you exchanged these heartfelt words. The glow of the moon and the soft light from the candles painted a romantic backdrop to your connection.
"I've missed you too, jagi," Seungmin confessed, his eyes never leaving yours. "These moments make me realise how precious our time together is.”
You nodded in agreement, a shared understanding passing between you. The outside world, with all its chaos and demands, felt like a distant memory in the cocoon of your shared space. As the night deepened, the two of you continued to enjoy the quietude, the only soundtrack being the crackling of the fireplace and the occasional distant hum of the city. After a good while, Seungmin gently stood up, breaking the physical connection but not the emotional one. He walked over to the window, drawing the curtains closed to shut out the rest of the world. Returning to the couch, he opened the drawer of the side table and reached inside for a small box. His usual, enchanting smile playing on his lips, he handed it to you. The anticipation in his eyes hinted at a surprise he had planned for this evening. You opened the box to find a delicate necklace, a pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Its silver surface shimmered in the soft light, reflecting the glow of the candles. It was like nothing you've ever seen.
“For me?” You whispered, fighting back the smile and the tears that began to form.
“For you.” He breathed. Seungmin took the necklace from the box and, with a tender expression, gently fastened it around your neck. The cool metal rested against your skin, a symbol of the quiet moments shared under the moonlight. He leaned in, placing a soft kiss on your forehead and then another on your lips, sealing the moment with a touch of affection.
“Your Christmas present. Since I won’t be here. Sorry about that by the way.” You smiled at the sincerity of his words, the necklace feeling like a tangible promise against your skin.
"It's perfect, Minnie. And don't apologise; I understand. We'll make up for it when you're back."
Jeongin
“Is it too late to back out now?”
“Yep. Do you have the skewers?”
“Yessir. Marshmallows, chocolate and crackers?”
“Yeah, let me open the marshmallow bag first though.”
Leaning against the kitchen counter, you watched as Jeongin fumbled with the scissors, trying to open the jumbo marshmallow packet he had bought. You tried to convince him that there was no need for that many, but he insisted. To be honest, you weren’t even sure this was even going to work.
It all started when the two of you decided to book a holiday house for Christmas. The two of you have gone past many Christmases together, but was the first one that you guys would be spending as a couple and he wanted to make it special. What better way to do that than a private getaway? It was a nice place and it had a fireplace perfect for making s’mores. You were especially excited about that, you hadn’t roasted marshmallows in such a long time, let alone had a s’more. So you spent much time planning and organising everything you were going to do during your time away together. You had even gone as far to decide which restaurants to eat in advance. And all that was left to do was book the place. And that’s what Jeongin did… except it was for the year after, and he ended up being far more disappointed in himself than the lack of a holiday. It was his responsibility after all.
But nevermind that, that’s all in the past. Fast forward a few days from the big little mishap and here you were now. Jeongin had taken notice of how upset you were over not being able to go on holiday, especially about not being able to roast any marshmallows over the fireplace, so being the thoughtful boyfriend he was, he went and bought all the needed items. But neither of you had a fireplace, so being the geniuses that you were, the two of you decided to use his kitchen stove. As Jeongin continued to struggle with the marshmallow bag, you couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"Need some help there?" you teased, reaching over to take the scissors from him. He pouted playfully. "I got this, just watch." With determination, he managed to open the bag, and you both shared a laugh.
"Alright, let the s'mores-making commence!" you declared, grabbing the skewers and handing one to Jeongin. The kitchen was filled with excitement as you prepared for your makeshift s'mores adventure.
As you both sat around the stove, skewering marshmallows and holding them over the flame, you couldn't help but appreciate the effort Jeongin had put into making this Christmas special. The aroma of melting marshmallows filled the air, creating a cosy atmosphere.
"So, how do we do this again?" Jeongin asked, looking at the array of ingredients on the counter.
"It's simple," you explained, "roast the marshmallow to whichever gooeyness level you want, then sandwich it between a piece of chocolate and graham crackers. Voila! S'mores."
Jeongin grinned, adorable dimples showing and eager to get started. The two of you took turns roasting marshmallows and assembling your s'mores. And honestly? This night was probably better than any other Christmas holiday. All thanks to the man currently roasting marshmallows over his kitchen stovetop.
“I’m done making mine. Let’s taste them, yeah?”
“Same time, okay? 3, 2, 1…”
As you both took a bite simultaneously, an unexpected combination of flavours assaulted your taste buds. The marshmallow, instead of being perfectly gooey, had an odd rubbery texture and tasted of gas, the chocolate was overly bitter, and the graham cracker had an unusual, cardboard-like crunch. You scrunched up your nose in disgust and glanced over to Jeongin who wasn’t having too great of a time either.
“Uhm… Innie? What does yours taste like..?” You asked and Jeongin grimaced, trying to find the right words.
"It's like a weird mix of burnt rubber and bitter disappointment. Definitely not the s'mores experience I was hoping for."
You couldn't help but burst into laughter, and he joined in, realising the hilarity of the situation. The kitchen, once filled with the sweet aroma of anticipation, now held a peculiar blend of burnt marshmallow and failed expectations.
"Well, at least we tried," you said between laughs, wiping away a stray tear. "Maybe we should just go grab some s’mores ice-cream from the convenience store. It’s not that late"
“Yeah, good idea. I’ll pay. Least I could do after messing up twice.”
“It’s okay, jagiya. At least we’re together.”

Hey there! Your stories have been great so far. Big fan. I saw something about vacation packages. I'm on super break from a PhD program in the midwest. And truthfully, it's kind of of programs. Sure, people like doctors and all, but it's a lot of work. I'd like to kick back and relax in a big city, maybe New York or LA. Heck even the south has some appeals. Gay, straight, all good. Just wanna be hot, dumb and famous.
Thanks for your booking with FWK Vacations. You’re about to embark on your big city vacay! Please get comfortable and prepare.
You wake up with a party raging around you. You must have taken some bad pills. You stumble to your feet, slurring an apology to whoever’s nearest to you. You run your hands over your body, finding a tight, nearly naked pale body in bedazzled briefs. For some reason you’re wearing a slutty graduation gown and cap?
Someone in the crowd sees you and screams a name. When someone else repeats it, you realise it’s your name. Still reeling back and forth, you wave to them, and go to hurl.
Once you’ve upchucked whatever it was making you feel like shit, you feel a lot better. Your head is totally empty as you flick your blond curls behind your ear and go to make out with a cute guy at the bar. Who cares if anyone sees you humping him? You’re a hottie, and what’s NYC for but being a slut at costume parties?
Tomorrow afternoon, you’ll wake up on someone’s couch, your briefs gone, stinking of stale cum and alcohol-ridden sweat. New York City will be yours for the taking.

My Thoughts on the Roger Rabbit Novels
Tumblr media
Who Censored Roger Rabbit?
The Plot: It's the 1980s, and human beings and comic strip characters ("toons") live side-by-side, albeit not on an equal social standing. Roger Rabbit approaches private detective Eddie Valiant and asks him to investigate a dispute he has with Rocco and Dominick DeGreasy, the brothers who own his comic strip. Roger claims his life is in danger, but Eddie, who's somewhat racist towards toons, doesn't take him seriously - which comes back to bite him when he finds Roger's dead body. Now Eddie has to work out who killed Roger, as well as who killed Rocco DeGreasy on the same night.
What I Liked: This is a very well-paced story. It sets up the mystery straightaway, it cracks along at a good speed, and you don't have the full truth of whodunnit until the very end. The chapters are short and punchy, and even the time spent on plot points that turned out to be red herrings never felt wasted. I was always eager to pick the book up again and read just one more chapter!
Also, in any other novel, the twist regarding Roger's killer would be a massive "What the heck?" moment, but here, it's set up far enough in advance that it doesn't feel unnatural when it comes.
And as a fun minor detail, Eddie casually mentions being one of four children, and then the next novel, Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit?, gives him two brothers and a sister! It was probably a coincidence, but I was glad to spot it!
What I Disliked: I really wasn't a fan of the way Jessica Rabbit was portrayed. Who Framed Roger Rabbit subverts her femme fatale image, but Who Censored Roger Rabbit? plays it straight, which didn't appeal to me as much. I prefer the "looks like she could kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll" trope over the "looks like she could kill you, could actually kill you" trope.
At one point in the story, Jessica claims she was forced to pose for a racy comic, but when Eddie speaks to the owner of said comic, the man claims Jessica posed for those pictures willingly and was actually eager to make more. At the time the story was published (1981), one might just about have got away with such a portrayal, but in a post-#MeToo world, it's discomforting that Jessica's allegations of coercion and sexual abuse aren't taken seriously. (Also, the man who owns the racy comic is a creepy crossdresser, which ... what? Why was that in there? That didn't need to be in there.)
As a consequence of Jessica's portrayal, her relationship with Roger is nowhere near as sweet as in the film. Their entire marriage is basically a sham. No, thank you. Give me "honey bunny" and "love cup" instead, please.
Verdict: I saw the film first, and I prefer it to the novel. Who Framed Roger Rabbit will always be my favourite piece of Roger Rabbit media. But I can appreciate Who Censored Roger Rabbit? as its own thing - a product of its time, to be sure, but also a well-structured and fast-paced read.
Tumblr media
Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit?
The Plot: It's 1947 (more or less), sometime after the events of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman, and Kirk Enigma are three toons in line for the lead role in David Selznick's upcoming adaptation of Gone With the Wind. A box belonging to Selznick, a box of great importance, has gone missing, and Eddie Valiant has been hired to find it.
What I Liked: Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit? has my favourite portrayal of Roger (after the film and the comics). We spend a bit more time with him than in the previous book, so we get to hear more about his worldviews and his backstory. We also get to see what a sweetie pie he is. He's an emotional bunny who loves his wife, just like in the film, and I frequently wanted to hug him.
A key highlight for me was the moment when Roger was singing like a Disney Princess and summoning a chorus of birds to wake Eddie one morning, which Eddie did not appreciate. Can someone animate that? I'd love to see it!
The second half of this novel also introduces Jessica's twin sister Joellyn (the six-inch-tall woman on Eddie's shoulder on the cover), and I enjoyed getting to know her. And, without giving away too many spoilers, I greatly preferred this rendition of Jessica over the one in Who Censored Roger Rabbit?
What I Disliked: Unlike the first novel, this one was pretty slow to get going. Eddie isn't actually hired by Selznick until Chapter 7, and most of the time before then is spent establishing Eddie as a down-on-his-luck private eye, using people and locations that show up once and then are barely used again. Some of that fat could have been trimmed, I feel. It made reaching the end of the book a bit more of a slog.
Something else that bothered me was the high volume of old-timey slang, brand names and Americanisms that I, as a twentysomething Brit, did not recognise. I could read an entire paragraph and think, "Well, he's either drinking alcohol, smoking cigar or eating a foodstuff, but I'll be darned if I can tell you which is the right interpretation." I think the noir detective vernacular was slightly overdone, to the point of incomprehension.
Verdict: I thought this would be my favourite of the novels because it seemed the most similar in tone to the film, so I was disappointed by my lukewarm reception to it. Maybe I was disappointed because I'd hyped it up too much in my mind? That's not to say I didn't enjoy it - I greatly preferred the second half to the first, once Eddie found out what was actually in this mysterious box - but I think it could have done with a few more edits before publication.
Tumblr media
Who Wacked Roger Rabbit?
The Plot: It's the 1940s or 1950s, sometime after the events of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and director Barney Sands is shooting a movie set in Toontown starring Gary Cooper and Roger Rabbit. He's been receiving threatening letters warning him to stay away from Toontown and stop making this film, but he can't afford to let down his investors. So he hires Eddie Valiant to be Cooper's bodyguard while filming takes place. But Eddie soon finds himself wrapped up in another mystery, involving a porcine crime lord called Willy Prosciutto and the corpse of Clabber Clown.
What I Liked: The majority of this novel takes place in Toontown, so we get some really cool worldbuilding details. We find out how the school system works, which churches are based in Toontown, and how crooked toons launder their money. I was particularly intrigued by the calm and serious toons in the Sanatorium - apparently, if you're not loud and goofy and bouncing off the walls, you're considered insane, which is the opposite of how humans think about mental health.
The blonde humanoid toon on the cover is Caitlyn "Honey" Graham, Willy's girlfriend. I really like Honey. In fact, she might be my favourite of the novel-exclusive characters. Throughout the book, you're trying to work out if she's a good bad girl or a bad good girl, or if she's really just a bad bad girl. If Who Framed Roger Rabbit ever gets a sequel or prequel or spin-off cartoon series, I'd love to see Honey on screen.
What I Disliked: The Roger we meet in this novel is a bit too stupid for my liking. In Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Roger made seemingly nonsensical choices, but he had his own (cartoon) logic to explain his actions, and he was even proved right in his assumptions a few times. So I much prefer to think of Roger as the kind of toon where you're never quite sure if he's truly dumb or merely playing dumb for the sake of a gag. Here, he's just straight-up dumb, and that's not as fun to read about.
Verdict: This was the book I knew the least about before I read it, so I was more cautious going in - but it ended up being my second favourite of the Roger Rabbit novels. I enjoyed learning more about Toontown and its residents. My favourite parts of the film had been the toony parts - Roger, and Jessica, and Roger and Jessica together - so I guess it makes sense that I'd enjoy the novel that takes place almost entirely in Toontown.

Jessica Rabbit: XERIOUS Business
The Plot: It's the 2020s, sometime post-pandemic, and Jessica Krupnik is a human in a toon-less world. She's working a dead-end job in a crime-ridden part of town, her stepmother bosses her around and belittles her, her stepsisters treat her like a servant, and her stepbrothers sexually harass her. She's basically a modern-day Cinderella. But instead of a fairy godmother, Jessica is rescued from her life of drudgery by an opportunity to apply for a role at XERIOUS, a crime-fighting organisation of secret agents. She gets the job, and is later put on a mission with Robbe, one of XERIOUS's most experienced agents, to catch a criminal mastermind called the Klown.
(And this is somehow a prequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Despite being set decades after that film. And starring a human Jessica instead of a toon Jessica. Cartoon timelines be weird, y'all.)
What I Liked: This was the most fun novel to read! I think that's because it was a spy novel spoof, rather than a gritty noir detective story. The other three novels could be quite dour in tone - yes, cases would get solved, but people would get hurt in the process, and relationships would be irrevocably altered, so there was always this undercurrent of sadness in the seemingly happy endings. After three novels in a row of that, a story spoofing spy novels was always going to feel like a breath of fresh air. Gary K. Wolf has stated that he wrote this book in lockdown and had a lot of fun doing so, and I feel that coming across in his writing.
Robbe was another great novel-exclusive character. I can't say too much about him, because that would massively spoil things, but I can say that I enjoyed witnessing his development over the course of the novel. To give the most spoiler-free explanation I can, Robbe starts out as a suave and competent spy, but also a misogynist - until something happens to him in the line of duty that shakes his confidence. Watching him grow and try to be a better person, especially towards Jessica, while also dealing with the aftermath of his accident, was truly engaging. It even got me thinking about the portrayal of disability in fiction, which I did not expect a Roger Rabbit novel to do.
What I Disliked: For a novel called Jessica Rabbit: XERIOUS Business, Jessica herself was disappointingly under-developed. The first three chapters follow her miserable life and her desire for adventure, for respect, for something more. And then there's a two-year time skip and whoop, she's suddenly a confident and glamorous secret agent! And she's ditched her glasses and dyed her hair, so she's beautiful now! And she achieved her impossible hourglass figure with nothing but diet and exercise, despite being a human and not a toon! Sigh.
There was a real missed opportunity here. Robbe already has a plot where he starts off skilled and arrogant, but then has his worldview challenged and needs to learn to embrace vulnerability. So we could have had Jessica experiencing her own story of growth alongside him, but in reverse! We could have watched as, over the course of the novel, she transforms from the beaten-down self-conscious little girl into the sensational woman she was always meant to be. Robbe would start on top and fall down; Jessica would start at the bottom and claw her way up. The parallels could have been awesome!
Gary K. Wolf has admitted that, as a man, he would struggle to write a novel about women, and it shows. The sexism Jessica experiences doesn't have any nuance; the story just says, "Harassment is bad" over and over again. There's one moment where the Klown is sharing his nefarious plan to change the world, and Jessica responds, "I like the current world." And ... huh? You like the sexual harassment you receive on an almost daily basis? You like the system that trapped you in a dead-end job? You like all the poverty and crime and misery the world has right now? The story could have really benefitted from a feminist and/or intersectional analysis.
Also, in an effort to make Jessica seem smart, the men around her are extremely stupid, unable to see through the Klown's flimsy disguises. That is ... not the best way to make your female characters appear intelligent.
Verdict: My favourite of the Roger Rabbit novels! It's not perfect, but my criticisms are born out of love and a desire to see this concept reach its full potential. But even as it is, I still found this book a lot of fun to read, and I can excuse a few flaws if I'm having fun.

SNEAK PEAK: Not your Moon, but my Star |Lmk fanfic
(Title in progress)
Chapter One: The Life I Once Lived
“It says here that Monkey King killed you”
Liu’er raised his head from the papers of the play to see Tang. He raised an eyebrow and smirked at the perplexed look on the man's face. Of course, he would be the first to ask straight up without shame, the man is a teacher. His whole career is about knowing things and being curious about other things. He would be annoyed if it weren’t for the entertainment it brings him.
“The heck?! What kind of question is that? I just sat down!”
“It wasn’t a question, you either came back from the dead for some miracle, or the writings are wrong. I would like to know which one is true.”
“Sheeesh” The dark-haired Monkey scoffed “So violating! So mean! And people say I’M the nosy one”
“I just want to know more about your story, you know?”
“Why? I mean, if you want some gossip-”
Tang shrugged “Well, we’ve been friends for months now and I barely get to know your story.” He said hesitantly “The books don’t have any documents about you, you’re mentioned in Journey To The West and that’s it, no other books or sourcing has your name in it”
The monkey looked back at his papers, Tang was right. No story talks about him or mentions him beyond being the double of the monkey king. This was certainly disappointing if you consider how many adventures he had, but also suitable since he wouldn’t like all his personal issues to be shared publicly.
Tang is his friend though, perhaps sharing one adventure or experience will satisfy the educator’s curiosity. This could be risky, Tang wasn’t a man who was easily pleased when information wasn’t complete. He’ll just pray nothing too shameful comes out, heavens know he did some incredibly awful stuff in his youth, and his incredibly big mouth might complicate any secrets. [...]
First chapter almost completed.

what is your take on bobby? like, the easy answer is obviously "he stole luke's songs and never looked back" but i doubt that's the WHOLE story? either way he did a shitty thing, but i'm curious as to your thoughts on him
hello!
hmmm tbh most of the time i don’t have any thoughts on bobby- i just forget he exists since he isn’t a member of the core 4 - julie luke reggie and alex (though that’s funny to say since he is a big part of the plot ie stole luke’s music and gave us a glimpse into what kind of person luke is, not wanting to be forgotten and erased by time and using his music to make sure he’s remembered but then you get bobby literally wiping his name off every song he ever wrote and having him be forgotten..ANYWAY TANGENT)
imma base all of this on show canon- i don’t really consider any of the books that came out after as “true” canon cause they weren’t kenny and the writers etc but ye; my mini disclaimer
so i am aware that bobby was a teenager who had lost 3 of his band members and friends in one go. it must’ve been traumatising, esp right before a huge gig that would’ve changed their lives forever.
but grief….thats never an excuse to be a shithead. bobby knew how much music meant to luke; to the boys and sunset curve in general. he knew the struggles luke was going through at home — heck he was there when they practiced unsaid emily!!! even if he wasn’t close to luke (though there’s debate about this again due to the non-canon ‘canon’ books that he was the closest to luke but it doesn’t make sense since they straight up forgot about bobby until well into the plot) bobby being there to witness that song is huge! he knew that much about luke!!
and i know there’s the argument of “but he was just a kid the companies took advantage of him!!” lmao no. that’s not an excuse. unless he was desperate to get famous he could’ve just…not done that. and let’s say he was bullied by the big bad music execs. man is obviously a rockstar in his own right now and could’ve easily either unearthed a “long lost song” and dedicated it to his bandmates or said it was written by luke or SOMETHING (which still wouldn’t have absolved him of his shitty actions but at least we’d know he has a conscience)
he obviously just rose to fame as Trevor with luke’s music skills and kept riding that wave — so no matter whether he had moments where he felt guilty or constantly thought about his dead friends…..he’s still a pretty shitty person as far as canon is concerned. the show ended with him just being like “oh shit” cause well. he might finally get caught lol
(also the way his entire house is decorated with massive posters of his face and the way he is with carrie and the kind of person he raised…..doesn’t say great things about him as an adult either. just a narcissist)
but ye…..these are my “i don’t have many thoughts about bobby” thoughts…,,,,,,…,,;

what if jesse didn’t know the ninjas identies until later in the story (ex. around end of book 2)
I know this is a 'haha what a wacky what if' question, but I also feel like we're underestimating the giant butterfly effect this would invoke. Cuz I feel like this would cause a paradox as if Jesse were to only learn about the identities around the end of Book 2, it would probably be via the moment that Lloyd reveals himself as the Green Ninja to, well, literally everyone else too (and Jesse could potentially extrapolate about the others from there, like Antonia did)...but the reason Lloyd's found out to be the Green Ninja at all in the first place is because Jesse knew everyone's identities beforehand and the relevant information associated with it that wasn't going to be shared by anyone else that knew it (...and rather than it being simply considered via Kai making an off-the-cuff declarative deduction that hijacks his own character development focus but that's neither here or there—)
And for Jesse to not figure out the identities, he'd have to not know about the Eye Color Rules/Elemental Inheritance, and for that to happen he would need to not have met Mystake or Wu, and if that didn't happen then he would've never gained any control over his powers, and then he would've just. Never became the Fuchsia Ninja. Nor would he have met/fallen in love with Cole, or blame himself for Miranda's accident, or had any kind of hand in Harumi's tragedy—heck, if he never met Mystake or Wu, would he even be aware of his own role as an EM?! He certainly wouldn't have the Elemental Compass, either. He'd just be some lame guy that inexplicably cries sparkles and coughs up flowers sometimes and tries even harder to pretend that he's not a weird freak of nature.
...and upon learning about Lloyd along with everyone else in this theoretical scenario, well, would it even have any personal impact on him at all, if those people weren't his friends beforehand? He would've had no reason to even get himself marginally involved with any of the ninja, civilian or otherwise, if he had no idea who they were or what they represented in association with him. Heck, if Jesse never bonded with Lloyd beforehand, would he be among the camp that blamed Lloyd for all his problems caused as a result of the Devourer and hate him for it? Quiet!Jesse Au Au?!?
Anyway, overall...it would probably just lead to the events of the show happening as they were "supposed" to, lol. I guess he wouldn't even be officially dragged into things until Season 4 for obvious reasons, even with connecting the dots about the ninja beforehand, and then his life would just be absolutely throttled and turned inside out...but then, there's still no guarantee he'd be as close with the ninja either. He might just turn out like most of the other Derivative Masters, and only show up when the situation is utterly critical (...unless he winds up in a whirlwind romance with Cole like Kai and Skylor do that finally affiliates him with the group—or he just straight up steals Skylor from Kai without any previous interactions with/reservations about Cole or Kai to worry about lmao).
But...yeah. I doubt he'd even be a ninja, or even be able to follow his passions for magic/performing, in this scenario.
*jazz hands* Butterfly Effects are brutal, bro

It was a warm afternoon and the school bell rang early, which gives time for the students to spend their leisure time. But of course, your professor has to be a real dick and make your whole class create a project and pass it the very next day.
So here you are now, in the library hoping that you can get started on how your project is going to be, where the sun has already gone down and you're needing just one more book to search through the shelves. At least it was peaceful here in the library, that was until small moans and groans had been echoing at the very back of the library, away from the librarian's desk.
“You gotta be shitting me.” You muttered under your breath. Walking away was your option, until the guy started talking. Wait a fucking minute, that's Juliet's boyfriend.
You should have minded your own business, but she was your friend. It would be devastating to find out through your friend about your boyfriend's betrayal, but sitting around and doing nothing might be even worse.
You grab your phone from your pocket and without hesitation, took a picture. The only mistake was why the hell is your flash on to begin with?!
Both of them looked up and they saw your head popping from the side of the shelf.
The bliss on their face was replaced by rage, he pushed away the girl on top of him and quickly dressed up. “Give me you fucking phone.” The mean aura around him makes you step back as he steps closer.
“No the fuck I won't.” You were preparing for a sprint when he caught your arm, digging his nails onto your skin leaving moon crescent marks.
It stings but you try your best to get him off of you. It all happened so fast, when a fist swung at the guy's face. He immediately lost his balance while the person who punched him curled into a ball from the searing pain in his hand that swung at Zachary.
“What the heck is wrong with you?” You muttered, looking back and forth at the two idiots who were yelping in pain.
The girl he was with already fled away, but you stood there debating whether to help the poor guy, not Zachary, but the other who looks like he's the one who's been punched.
“Fuck! What's up with your face? Ow!” The stranger groaned as he cradled his stupid hand to his chest.
Zachary had already stood up straight and immediately followed-up a stronger punch right into the guy who punched him first. The impact of Zachary's punch on his face made him stumble against the bookshelves that made the books fall on the wooden floor with loud thumps.
Finally! The librarian made their way to the scene and let out a shriek, guess the books were more important than the guy who had his face punched. You saw how the librarian finished putting back the fallen books to its shelves, and looked at the three of you.
“They did it, Zachary Riggins has been fucking a new girl here in your library.” You voiced out, taking the initiative to blame Zachary. “It's distracting since they're getting louder, we're only here to inform him to get out.”
The librarian raised their eyebrow that looks like they're doubting your story, and took a look at Zachary with his messy shirt and hair, with pants undone.
“Mr. Riggins, come with me to detention, you too.” They said pointing at you. Come on, you really don't have time for this shit.
“I, uh, I will. After I, I helped him to the infirmary.” I said, going to the stranger who has his hands on his face, still sitting on the floor. “He was punched by that asshole for helping me since I was being harassed by Zachary.”
The librarian took a moment before nodding their head, “Fine, then you and Mr. Graham go straight to detention, understand?”
You nodded, and watched them disappear between the bookshelves. You turned your head to the stranger, who was still in the same position.
“You shouldn't have involved yourself if you can't take a punch.” You said, and nudged him with your foot to stand up.
“Mhm... my vision is blurry.” His voice was full of pain.
You winced the moment he lifted his head, a dark violet has been spreading around his right eye. “Come on, get on your feet. I'll help you.” Your patience was running thin when he didn’t move an inch, so all you did was slumped down the floor and sat beside him. “What are you even doing here? I thought students get to roam free since we’ve all had early dismissals.”
“Uh, just like you. I'm preparing for my project in our Science class.” His answer was still weak but he looked at you when he felt your warmth.
“What do you mean?” You connected two and two together, so he was actually your classmate. “Oh, are you new?”
His brows furrowed like what you said was weird, and from his point of view, it definitely was.
“I have been your classmate for a year... you, you never noticed?” The tone of his voice changed and his expression was dejected. As you quickly looked away because of the guilt building inside of you. “I even passed you my notes when you said you forgot yours.”
You tried to remember the times where you talked to him in class, tried even harder the time you saw him in your class! But nothing comes to mind, it was as if he was invisible to begin with.
“Can't remember.” You bluntly say, before adding up, “Now, get up, I'll take you to the infirmary.” Holding out your hand towards him.
His expression was still like a hurt-puppy and your words added salt to his wound, but he won't miss an opportunity to hold your hand so he took it without questions.
“Jesus, if you've been punched in your left eye as well you'd look like a panda.” There was coldness in your voice yet the moment he snickered you couldn't help but chuckle.
“I'd love to be a panda if it means you won't get hurt.” He says, and you'd be deaf if you say you didn't hear it. It was plain and clear, but you decided not to ask anything about it.
In just half a minute, you were in front of the infirmary. Opening the doors and helping him to get inside as he only has one good eye, his right has already closed. The infirmary was quiet as always, but this time it was too quiet. Calling out to the nurses in charge, no one greeted you back.
“Shit!” Cursing to yourself, before looking back at him. In his pitiful state, he’s in one of those sofa chairs that are placed near the wall. “Hey, come on. Let’s put you to bed.” All he did was to nod.
You helped him reach the end of the bed before collapsing into it, “Wait for me, I’ll grab some ice.”
You quickly left his side and went to the desk of the nurse’s station, you saw an empty ice bag and searched for a freezer to fill it with ice. Then, returning to his side you poked him in the arms. “I’ll put the ice bag in your eyes, ok? It will reduce the swelling.” But it looks like he was already sleeping the pain off when he didn’t respond and so you leaned over and put the ice bag on his eyes, and another on his knuckles that landed on the jerk's face. After your job was done, you were planning to leave and head to detention by yourself but he uttered your name.
“I thought you were asleep.”
“Mhm. I was almost asleep. But I heard you walking away, didn't the librarian tell you to go to detention with me?” He said, his eyes still closed.
“Well, obviously, you can't do detention right now given your situation.” You explained with your finger pointing at the ice bag. “It's best if you rest here.”
He pushed himself to sit up at the hospital bed, taking the ice bag off of his face. “Look, I'm fine.”
The bruised eye was still twitching and the color of it stays the same. “Don't be stupid. You're not in a good condition–.”
“Fine.” He said as a sigh, prolonging the syllable. “At least, stay here, please. I got hurt because of the jerk.”
“Ha! Not my problem, I didn't ask you to do shit.” You coldly responded, being aware how he's using his current state to make you stay. Why would he even want you to stay? You barely know him.
But he knows so much about you.
“Please, just until I fall asleep or the nurse comes back. I just want to talk to somebody.” He pleaded, gosh, his pitiful state just added an effect for his puppy-dog eyes.
“You're so sensitive.” Only a small laugh slipped out of your lips as you massaged your temples with your index and thumb.
“Ouch! That sounds awful the way you say it.” He added, that only turned your small laugh into a giggle. “It's just, I never thought that I would be so invisible that you wouldn't notice me.”
Again, the guilt creeped in that you rethink about the times you took classes together. Were you so out of your system that you have passed a year without interacting with anyone, well, aside from your circle. But they were all in different classes and you don't share one with them, you figured that circle of friends was enough and you don't have to interact with anyone.
But you stayed quiet, letting him continue his sentence, “You belong with the Vortex, so I knew you were trouble when I first saw you in our class. Yet the days go by, you weren't really like them. Sure, Nathan was an asshole through and through. Victoria will make you a laughing stock on her blog. Yet you, you don't push people to their limit or crush them beneath your status and wealth. You're just, you just don't care.”
He talks as if he knows everything about you, that it made you step back. “Shit, are you a private investigator? I don't need a character analysis right now, Mr. Graham.”
“You know my name?!” You were surprised by how he almost jumped out of the bed.
“Be careful! You can get really hurt from your stupidity. And no, I don't, I just heard the librarian mention it.”
“Aw..” He sulks going back to slumping against the pillow on his hospital bed.
“But since we got in this situation, we might as well get to know each other, propely.” You suggested, to lessen the fact that you don't remember a bit of him.
“Right, I'm Warren Daniel Graham, just Warren is fine.” In turn, you told him your name even though he has already muttered it a hundred of times in his mouth. Loving the way your name rolls off his tongue.
“Did you know that we first met in the hallway, in your locker. I think you were talking to Victoria about how you'd be her next model.”
“Ah, yeah, I modelled for Victoria once. I think that was a year ago. And, a guy,” You stopped mid-sentence, that memory of yours when a guy accidentally did something stupid. “Holy shit! You're that guy who threw his dissected frog at Victoria!” You said your hands were throwing in the air.
“Accidentally.” He corrected, “Ever since then, I feel like I've been part of the Vortex's Kill List.”
You can't help but laugh out loud, replaying the memory that was once buried. Seeing the reaction of Victoria made you speechless at that time, as for the guy, well, Warren, his dimwitted expression only added to the fuel that was bound to explode from Victoria. You can still vividly remember how she slapped Warren, hard, then walked away and grabbed you in the process.
“Oh, shush, I convinced them not to. Nathan was ready to make you regret coming here, but I just told them that no one took a picture and the issue was already gone.” You explained to ease his worries.
“Shit, thanks to you, I'm still alive to this day.” He smiled, fuck, he looks so adorable with that grin.
“So we're even now.” You commented, you didn't even notice you already sat down at the foot of the bed and laughed at how the conversation was flowing so easily. Being comfortable with anyone that fast was never really your thing, it took a lot of time before you can show your true colors to someone else.
You noticed the fatigue in his eyes and how it slowly crept into his body, taking it over and how his muscles loosened.
“Don't go.”
“I won't, silly. I promised I'll go when you're fast asleep.” He nods, still trying to fight off the weariness.
It wasn't long before he is fast asleep, he looked more peaceful and you knew it was time to go.
“Oh my! I'm sorry I took my break too long.” A nurse appeared when you hopped off the bed.
“It's alright, he's just resting. He got the black eye from a fight.” You explained, grabbing your bag on the bedside table. “Please, take care of him.”
With that, you quietly walked away and went to detention. Just your luck.

A quick and easy guide to getting yourself muted by other fans on AO3
Constantly update your post date without actually updating your fic in order to push said fic to the top of date-ordered search results.
Tag things that aren't relevant to your fic in order to...honestly, I don't know? Try to trick people into reading something and then frustrating them when your fic doesn't deliver what the tags promised?
Create "placeholder" fics (there's no actual fic, just a "coming soon!" or something along those lines).
I know some of this behavior occurs because of people coming from Wattpad, where a baffling algorithm determines popularity, but, do know, if you do this nonsense on AO3, people in your own fandom are going to mute you. Which means they will literally never see a single thing you post moving forward, when they might have even liked your writing. (Well, and placeholder fics and tagging inappropriately are straight-up TOS violations. You're running the risk of having your whole fic reported, too.)
There is no algorithm to game on AO3. People will find your story if you tag it properly because they'll run searches for those tags and probably be glad to see that someone posted something with their interests in mind. It's like a library. It would be incredibly annoying if an author of books about the migration of Canada geese went through a library and change the cataloging numbers on all of their books to the cataloging numbers of mystery novels just because mystery novels get more readers than books about the migration of Canada geese. This will annoy the heck out of the mystery novel readers and the people wanting to read about the migration of Canada geese and that author would likely end up with fewer readers overall because the people who want to find their book can't and the people their book is being shown to don't want it.
Only change dates when it makes sense to (backdating older fics for posterity, doing a one-time change for a fic that was kept anonymous for a week or two for an exchange, etc.), use tags that actually relate to your fic (remember the Canada geese), and just don't post a placeholder fics at all (they have no place on AO3 and really only serve to annoy people who were expecting to read something when they clicked on your fic link).
