sometimes it strikes me how deeply unpoetic the west can be. this is partially inspired by the palestinian rescue worker who told the girl they brought from under the rubble when she asked if she would be brought to the cemetary, “No, darling. You are alive and beautiful like the moon”

but moreso, this thought is inspired by the interview with Ghassan Kanafani, who when asked why Palestinians wouldn't negotiate with Israelis, said "That's kind of a conversation between the sword and the neck"

like, imagine just busting that out off the top of your head. what the fuck! but the greater crime is the dipshit brit interviewing him doesn't even grasp what the fuck he's saying. god. god.

i think, one of the most precious things about Joy's book, is that it makes me want to write

i've been slowly working on my mental state to allow words to compose but as i sit and reread hunger pangs (again, for the fourth time iirc) i am struck with the inspiration to write actual sentences

thank you, @thebibliosphere, for amazing words on the page and the blog, and the constant reminder that it is meaningful to tell our stories

I’m glad my stuff can be helpful! It can be hard to picture how something might help you if you dont, yknow, see it reflected in people in the world around you. I encourage you to seek out some real trans masc people who look like you too if you can. Luckily these days there are a lot of people open about their identities you may be able to turn to. (Or even cis men! People say they have gender envy over random cis guys all the time. You’re allowed to feel that way about people who look like you do.)

But also I want to say, even if something wont make you completely 100% happier, that doesnt mean you shouldnt take a chance on it. Even 5% happier is still happier. And if theres someone worth taking a chance on, “yourself” is pretty high up there, if you know that I mean. If its something you want to try, then the point of doing it is... because you want to try it. And I think thats a good reason.

Im glad you can see yourself in stan and see opportunities for yourself through him! Also im glad you are accepting yourself more and more. I hope the trend continues and that you have a good day
