This is my magnum opus! A GIANT photo manipulation of at least 12 source images, painstakingly taken apart and put back together in Photoshop. at one point this beast had over 80 layers! I am surprised my computer didn't crash!

Inspired by the Iron Man 3 and Thor: the Dark World posters wherein the love interest is posed like a Damsel in Distress.

Since Bucky IS CapSteve's damsel in all 3 movies!

^ my original digital sketch (featuring my FAVORITE Bucky drawing OF ALL TIME by @evankart!) and first attempt at a digital drawing using adobe illustrator (to be fair to 2021 me, I had been using illustrator less than a year at that point and would have just done it in Photoshop originally if it wasn't a project for one of my Graphic Design college classes) I used it for a magazine spread in my capstone (My paper was about queerbaiting in the MCU click to read on Ao3!) #got up to [s] terezi: remem8er in my reread. had to take a break #ik i said homestuck is at it’s best in act 5 act 2 and i stand by that in terms of like. plot #but emotionally?? this part of the comic - the flash and the few pages preceding it - wins hands down #it’s about the childhood friends and the cycle of violence and living up to a legacy #it’s about someone has to leave first. this is a very old story. there is no other version of this story #except there *is* another version of this story!! one where you don’t kill her!! but she still leaves!!#and you vow to spend the rest of your life searching for her!! is this thing on!!#and part of what makes the flash hit so hard is that the versions of terezi and vriska that find each other are from doomed timelines!!#it’s the terezi that killed vriska and regretted it ever since #and the vriska that got killed. and as a ghost she grew as a person and let herself be soft and vulnerable with someone #only to get utterly verbally eviscerated by the ‘real’ vriska for letting herself do that. letting herself be happy #something something. the terezi and vriska that find each other and get to be happy with each other are doomed #and their seperation is a necessary part of the ‘real’ timeline. i can’t FUCKING do this anymore #homestuck #vrisrezi

the thing about having a best friend when you're six is that sometimes that person is your soulmate and your lives become inextricably entwined as you grow together like two young trees which merge into one beautiful inseparable shared existence for all their lives

and sometimes that person is just who happened to live closest to you when you were six

#guess which one I had #feeling really good and normal about how my childhood best friend and I have so little in common that even looking back #I can't for the life of me remember what we even did together when we were spending all of our time together #we loved each other. we did everything together. we spent more time at each other's houses than our own. she was my sister #but then you go to a new school and you're not six or seven or eight any more and the differences between you start to matter more #and then she meets her actual best friend in middle school #while the friends YOU'VE found that you actually resonate deeply with don't really hang out with you outside of school #every 'best friend' I've ever had since then already has an ACTUAL best friend who isn't me #and on the one hand when I say justin is my best friend I don't just mean by default; he's sincerely the best friend I've ever had #but on the other hand I wish I had someone I grew up with #and also thinking about some friends I've made as an adult and thinking 'I wish you had moved in two doors down from me when we were six'#about me
