5, 12 and 15 for Takao for the characters ask game!! 🧡
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
My first though was the 2nd and 3rd endings of KnB since Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Takao's voice actor, is the singer of Oldcodex the group who performed those endings. But that doesn't really count so instead i"ll say Someone To You by BANNERS
youtube
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
He became captain of Shutoku in 3rd year, and it really surprised him because he was convinced it would be Midorima. But Midorima expected it and knows that Takao will be the best captain in Shutoku. He is better at leading and socializing, and their kouhai are still very intimidated by Midorima.
He made Midorima vice-captain.
15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
TakaMido of course. Even the song I associate with Takao is technically for TakaMido.
I've also been thinking a lot about AkaTakaMido recently. I know it's not very common but give me a minute and I'll explain.
TakaMido and AkaMido are two ships commonly accepted as S-tier ships, I don't have to defend them here. Akashi and Takao are like Midorima's first love and current boyfriend.Now AkaTaka is the missing link, at first glance it doesn't seems like they have great chemistry.
But think about how much Takao admires Akashi's skills as a point guard, during the Rakuzan VS Seirin and Jabberwock VS Vorpal Swords matches, the boy was in awe. Now let's take a look at Akashi's Kuro fes interview. To the question "what would you like to improve about yourself" he answered : "I guess I want to be able to connect with people without making them wary of me". And his only weakness is his inability to make jokes. While on the contrary, Takao is good at joking and approaching people.
What i'm getting at his that what they both want above all else is something the other effortlessly possesses.
There's no way Akashi doesn't admire Takao's sociability and effortless friendliness as much as Takao admires Akashi's abilities as a PG and basketball player. The ship potential is there.

Momoi’s Secret Love for Water (Headcanon)
-Alright, Momoi's love for water (and what it means in KNB), is definitely a hidden element in the series, but it's there. -First of all, just take a look at her favourite green vest, and the way she wears blue at the swimming pool. Blue and green, like the sea? -Second of all, the fact we even meet her for the first time in an aquatic related setting. -Thirdly, who collects bath powders as a hobby, other then people who really love water and relaxing in it? (low-key, same. I have some bath bombs stocked even though I don't own a bath tub LMAO).
-And now we have the obvious visual and trivia info about Momoi out of the way, let's focus on her love for Kuroko who's the very representation of water itself, which goes beyond the fact his hair and eyes are blue coloured or that gag where he passes a seashell or even that he's the guardian of the Zone. Let me touch on the symbolism of water, how Kuroko embodies it and how it is the underlying reason why Seirin defeated the GOM.
Ever heard of Puscifer - The Humbling River? If you don't want to check out the song, basically, the summary of the song is this; there's a mighty king who's pretty much defeated everyone and conquered everything, including representations of the elements like icy winds. Only this river, and the element of water, remain undefeated. He prays over and over to an angel, who eventually answers him that he should forget all of his previous victories, that water cannot be defeated with riches, guns, strength or words. To defeat the river, he must open his heart and hands to his people, and that together they would defeat the river. Essentially, he must humble himself and ask for help.
This speaks of the long time association and philosophy people have had about water. Go with the flow, actually refers to how in real life, you should go along with the flow of water if you do not wish to drown. The more you fight against a current, the faster you will drown. The various things we have invented to control the water and to travel upon it, are usually made by various people as well. It's the element that requires unity and humility.
See where I'm getting at?
That's exactly the secret to Kuroko's strength and why Momoi fell so hard for him. He's like a tidal master who controls the flow of the game completely with his sense of unity and humility. The GOM were destined to lose once he enrolled Seirin. Rakuzan especially, because 4 out of the 5 main players having a huge sense of pride? Please, unlike some people in the fandom, I don't think Rakuzan losing was unrealistic at all once you realize what Kuroko is meant to symbolize. He's supposed to be their exact anti-thesis, and he formed a team around that mentality. Their arrogance in their strength is what crushed them.
Think about the fact that when Shutoku and Seirin were tied, Shutoku had become almost the exact same team as Seirin, even having their own light and shadow in Midorima and Takao. To have a chance to beat Seirin, you gotta be like Seirin and go with the flow. The only reason Aomine once won is just his sheer talent speaking.
Momoi and Free!'s Haruka Nanase definitely consider Kuroko the dream.
-For this reason, if Kuroko doesn't ends up returning her feelings as they grow up, I can definitely see Momoi be into someone with a profession related to water. She'll have definitely dated a cute lifeguard in her college years. -I think swimmers would have an especially soft spot in her heart because they both love water, but also sports (I could even see Momoi being a Free! fangirl if it's not taking place in the same universe). I don't see her chasing after basketball players as an adult because I see Momoi as the type of girl who'd like to keep her work life and private life somewhat seperate as in no dating anyone she might work with in the future (Kuroko has some great power but he won't make it to the NBA realistically).
-If Kuroko and Kagami ever were to hang out on the beach, she'll crash the party for both Kuroko and a good, refreshing swim. -She'll also be a fan of beach dates, but unlike Kagami, her self-made snacks for those outings are better left 'accidentally' dropped in the sand. -So when she starts crying because of it, offer her to buy her favourite ice cream flavour. -The two of you will sit together at the edge of the water, your toes digging into the wet sand as the water occasionally floods over your feet as you eat your ice cream together.
-As an adult, she owns the most luxurious bathroom ever. Even Akashi would be impressed. It would be the most expensive room in her house, and probably worth half of the entire building. -This includes a closet filled with bath powders and bath bombs. -You're never going to want to leave her bathroom. -If she ever breaks up with you, you're definitely going to miss her bathroom the most about her home.
-Momoi is somewhat into the mermaid aesthetic. -Definitely has a few mermaid themed items. -Ariel is her favourite Disney princess -Aomine still has war flashbacks about the Little Mermaid because of how often Momoi made him watch it. -When I think about Momoi with fancy jewelry, Momoi with pearl earrrings is superior to Momoi with gemstone ones. She's definitely the type of girl who could wear pearls. ( tagging my fellow Momoi appreciator @vespersposts   )

1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 12, 16, 20, 23, 24 & 27 for Kōki Furihata - feel free to choose just a few from these if you feel these are too much 😊
nah man imma answer them allll thank you for sending your ask!! <3<3
1 - My first impression of them - … I thought he was shallow… HE JOINS A TEAM WITH AMBITIONS TO BE THE BEST BECAUSE OF A WEAK ASS GOAL “a girl said she would date me if I was the best in something lol” !! BOY!!
2 - When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like) - I think I finally warmed up to him when he and the other first years said that they wanted to play on the court too, so that’s around?? The streetball tournament? And then we get to know him more during winter cup and he is hella relatable
3 - A song(s) that reminds me of them -
Hercules by Sara Bareilles, i’ve been obsessed with this since I first heard it over a year, it encapsulates the core emotional drive behind Kouki in my greek wip, “‘cause I have sent for a hero from on my knees, make me a Hercules, I was meant to be a warrior please, make me a Hercules”
Mree’s cover of Face My Fears, it just makes me imagine him walking up this huge staircase to the palace of the emperor preparing to do the unthinkable
Romantic by Lauryn Marie, Kouki is ouuuurrrr romantic
I also have this playlist I made full of songs that either remind me of him or songs I think he would listen to
6 - My least favorite ship of them - oh uh hmm I haven’t thought about this before uh let me pull up a character sheet fjdsklf (I’m not including teams unrelated to the GOM bc I literally don’t remember enough about them to say conclusively one way or the other if a ship would be bad or my new otp (veerryyyy unlikely that would happen but who knows) similarly with minor characters from GOM’s teams- besides seirin and rakuzan) okay, I entertained this for far longer than I should because Kouki is fairly similar to Yamaguchi from haikyuu however while Kouki has the ability for snark he isn’t mean like Yams. so Haizaki and Hanamiya are in the running for least favorite ships. Vibes alone, Hyuuga and Kouki don’t mesh well. Tsuchida has a girlfriend so he’s out. And lastly, I think Kouki is too nice and considerate to be a compelling ship with Midorima. He needs someone who will push him beyond his boundaries and Kouki wouldn’t do that. And that’s what I’ll say on that jfdsakljf
Sidenote: I unexpectedly like the rivalry that could crop up between Kouki and Sakurai in their third year bc I think they would be interesting parallels
10 - Describe the character in one sentence - Unassuming man doesn’t know how beautiful and kind he is in this cruel world.
12 - Sexuality hc! Bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bib ib ib ib bibibibibi
16 - A childhood headcanon - Kouki wanted to be a mangaka when he was a kid, he read all the shonen jumps as soon as they came out and had dreams of making the next big manga. He even made some prototype manga chapters full of wobbly characters and overdrawn colors and misspelled words that his mother proudly kept and eagerly plans to show his partner (coughAkashicough) when they come to visit
20 - A weird headcanon - He picks and tears at his fingernails instead of clipping them. It’s half out of nerves and half out of boredom
23 - Future headcanon - Besides him being the captain their 3rd year- When he has a stable job he updates his wardrobe, little known fact, Kouki is very fashionable, so he likes to be on top of fashion trends (cough and when he gets with a certain rich redhead he takes full advantage of their gift giving love language and his little black credit card for certain expensive brands cough) I also think that during the pandemic shut down he went a little crazy trying new recipes and his kitchen was an utter mess with no less than 3 failed dough starters spread across his countertops
24 - What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone? - He deeply enjoys all of the soapy romance dramas his mother watches. He’ll enter the living room on the dot of eight and put up a farce of “what is this? The emperor’s love? Guess I’ll watch this with you… if you insist” His whole family has picked up on this and besides some gentle ribbing from his elder brother, no one blinks an eye. His mother records the episodes now in case his practice runs late. When the girls in his class talk about the shows he has to physically restrain himself from commenting thinking everyone will think its weird that a guy likes those sappy shows (he doesn’t know that being able to share and relate with the girls about something will make him more liked though)
27 - If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet? - is it a cop out answer to say thomas the tank engine? I think he and Yamaguchi would be good friends

Aokaga Trivia
I would like to compile some of the canon facts about these two basketball idiots. Some many not come as surprising to others but there are ones that I like to add.
Here we go! 👏🏻
* means I added new points in the trivia
Their first meeting is at the basketball court. Kagami already got the gist who Aomine Daiki is from other GoM members but this is the first time they officially met.
In the manga, Kagami for the very first time felt unsure of winning against Aomine and has been sitting at the basketball court for quite some time. Aomine’s play affected him. *
Aomine seeks Kagami. It was not a coincidence that he found Kagami at the basketball court. He got the information from Momoi and knew from the very start that Kagami is still injured from his previous match. He’s interested in Kuroko’s new light. *
Kagami thought Aomine is an idiot and parrots Aomine’s infamous “the only one who can beat me is me” line in a mocking, playful tone.
Aomine showed genuine interest in Kagami during their first match together. Opposite from when he tries to measure Kagami’s strength as Kuroko’s new light in their first meeting.
Aomine is been a bit too friendly placing his arm around Kagami’s shoulder which Kagami returns some times later (in the manga/anime) . His way of paying back.
Aomine is one of the biggest driving force for Kagami to practice harder.
Kagami is the first person who was seen not feeling dejected after losing to Aomine. Instead he was livid and brimming with determination.
Aomine is the first one to sense Kagami’s presence at the door that only Kiseki no Sedai can enter. *
Kagami respects Aomine and acknowledges him as an amazing basketball player. Different from when he felt utter frustration moments ago. Different from other players who had faced Aomine.
Kagami went from “I want to beat Aomine” to “This time, I will save him.” He sees something in Aomine. *
Kagami was the first one to stop Aomine from scoring. The first one that intensely reads the other’s movements and knowing the outcome. *
They both have “animal insticts” *
Kagami is also the first one to bring back Aomine’s animal insticts back. *
If Aomine didn’t stop Kagami from doing the formless shot, there is a high chance that Kagami succeeded in doing so. The only reason why it didn’t go in is because Aomine’s finger grazed the ball. *
Kagami is the first person who got into the Zone, playing against Aomine.
Aomine for the very first time was seen smiling and enjoying his match. Different from his Interhigh match. He genuinely felt joy playing against Kagami.
Kagami was the first one to make Aomine go full all out, he sees the potential within the other. *
Aomine openly complimented Kagami. “You’re the best!”
Both of them could go full on out with each other, unleashing their full potential against one another without holding back.
Kagami reaches out to Aomine, something that he has never done to other GoM members. He reassures the other that they could play with each other again and will be waiting for him.
Kagami’s words pierce into Aomine’s heart and from that day on, we could see him slowly getting better. His eyes shine again.
Kagami is the one Aomine is looking for. *
Kagami is Aomine’s light.
It has been hinted that Aomine wanted to give his (expensive) shoes to Kagami right from the very start.
Aomine gave points to Kagami about the Zone, subtly reaching out for him as well.
Aomine talks about Fate. An unusual behavior coming from Aomine who rarely talks about his feelings and thoughts. Fate=Kagami.
“From now on, I only want to watch Kagami.” Aomine told Momoi this with or without him realizing. *
In the manga, Kagami has a small flashback where Aomine teaches him about the Zone during the Rakuzan vs Seirin match. He was shown listening attentively. *
Wakamatsu said this very lines to Aomine, “Aren’t you supporting Kagami way too much?” *
Out of all the characters, Aomine is been shown the most proudest when Kagami got into the Zone. *
Aomine knows what Kagami is thinking just from watching him from the crowds. *
Aomine openly supports Kagami (& Kuroko) when they are in the verge of giving up. Again, an unusual thing coming from him. Kagami was surprised by Aomine’s actions.
Kagami is one of the few people that Aomine willingly listens to. (the audio drama cd, anyone?)
Kagami remembers their first meeting and remembers Aomine liking crayfish.
They have friendly banters with each other and get along quite well.
Aomine went to Kagami’s house twice now on his own accord. *
Kagami asked for a one-on-one again and Aomine is (lowkey) happy. (nintendo 3ds game) *
Kagami never gave up on wanting Aomine to see that basketball is interesting. (the same scene from the point above) *
Kagami likes teasing Aomine and vice versa.
Aomine is a bit in love with Kagami’s cooking.
Kagami is pleased (happy) to be complimented by Aomine.
Aomine only has his eyes on Kagami. *
They share the same passion and love for basketball. Crowning them as the “basketball idiots”
They have two duet songs in which they sang about their match and complimenting the other.
Their birthdays are in the same month. In the beginning and at the last month of August.
They are quite similar but different at the same time.
They are two sides of the same coin.
Aomine willingly goes to help Kagami twice in the Last Game movie. Without no one telling him to.
Kagami is still wearing the shoes Aomine gave him.
Aomine was visibly upset over Kagami’s departure to America and made a sudden decision to go there as well. (Mind you, Fujimaki-sensei was the one who create the idea of Kagami leaving Japan to pursue his dream in America and thus Aomine’s behavior here is canon)
Kagami only cares in beating Aomine in the popularity polls and only have Aomine in his thoughts when it’s time to give his speech.
Both of them don’t want to lose to the other the most.
Aomine enjoys getting a reaction from Kagami. And is genuinely happy around him. (the official merchandise, the ED cards, illustrations)
In the mini drama, Kagami gave two of his burgers to Aomine to persuade him for a one-on-one. Aomine was reluctant and not in the mood to play but he followed Kagami to the court in the end. *
Aomine can recognized Kagami’s laughter but couldn’t pinpoint where he had heard that voice before. (festival audio drama cd) *
Aomine is seen to invade Kagami’s personal space and both of them are seen to sit/stand close to the other, despite making it seems like they hate each other.
There might be more but these are the ones that came into my mind 😅

Mkay so this is quite a long ask/chat
YES I THINK ITS SCARY 😭😭😭😭 THAT ANGST HURT ME, well not super hurt it just hurt me bc Kagami was my bias and we had to break up :"D okay then song association, it’s not a character-song one but some has some scenarios
Hmmm, I have one but its not KnB, it’s TokRev HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, so if you like angst + draken, listen to jealousy jealousy bc it’s canon, Draken does like Emma—was a Draken stan but who needs him when you have MITSUYA AND RINDOUUUU!! btw have u read the manga yet??
That Kagami Angst u wrote was def Wildest Dreams vibe or Motokare by Juliet OR Back To You by Selena Gomez OR (LAST ONE) The One That Got Way by Katy Perry (I was kidding—that wasn’t the last one) Plus “i’d Do it Again” is nice—CUZ I KNOW, I WOULD DO IT AGAIN BC ANYTHING TO BE WITH KAGAMII SHSIWJSISNS
I Feel Pretty/Unpretty for Aomine BC I HEADCANON WHEN U GO INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU WOULD FEEL INSECURE bc of his magazines and etc. Another thing for Ahomine would be Heart of Stone, if you knew winx club—ehe-
Paparazzi and Perfect by 1D is for Kise, Idk how but it gives me Kise x Yn vibes
YaKnow Try Again? From Playful Kiss? That’s a song for Midorima and Yn with a personality like me bc He Gives me Baek Seung Jo Vibes, PLUS like Seung-Jo, Midorima was gonna become a doctor too
Perfect by Ed Sheeran is def something Akashi would learn to play in the Piano and sing for Yn
Everytime we Touch, Bad Boy and Hard Boy is def KnB bad boys vibes, namely, Imayoshi, Hanamiya and Hara
Unrelated but listen to Egoistic of Utapri if you want bc Takao’s VA is theree, the white haired guy, ranmaru to be specific, plus sometimes I’d like to imagine KnB as idols and they sing the songs of whatever anime boyband I happen to know or like other songs depends on my mood
Speaking of which, ur aware that KnB cast sung right? If not GO LISTEN TO VORPAL SWORDS DNSONDOSJSKND KAGAMI’S AND AOMINE’S RAP IS SO 😩🥵😍🤩—if u want a good laugh listen Go Go Touou and last but not the least Resignation is also nice—There’s more even Kasamatsu sings with Kise BUT I haven’t listened to all of it. Shield of Aegis and Indomitable (I think? It’s Shuutoku’s song) they ayt AND ALSO Rakuzan’s song, yes Mibuchi, Hayama, Nebuya, and Akashi sings IF I recall correctly.
Well that’s all!! I might add more if smth else crosses my minddd. Take careeee! and always stay safeee!!
-🎧
i love the ANALYSIS AND IN DEPTH-NESS. WOW.
first of all IM GLAD YOU LIKED THE ANGST! hopefully it was up to your expectations <3
second, all those music choices 😍 let me explain:
first!!! i did not read the tokyorev manga BUT I WANT TO!! honestly i’ve avoided tokyorev until now because idk i think i have a fear of being attached to a show bc i feel so empty when it ends. anyways, I REALLY REALLY LIKE MITSUYA
OMG. KATY PERRY’S the one that got away IS THE PERFECT SONG FOR THAT FIC. I AM SOBBING CRYING SCREAMING I WAS LITERALLY CRYING WHEN I WROTE IT
for aomine i’ve never heard of those songs! but i’ll listen to it when i get home (im answering you while im in school oops) i want to know where you’re coming from :))))
LOVE THE 1D CHOICES FOR KISE, i also think kiss you by 1D would be a perfect fit because i feel like it’s pure chaos and pure love
I LOVE PLAYFUL KISS I LOVE THIS IDEA
although im tired of perfect by ed sheeran i agree that it’s something akashi would play. i also think he’ll play songs like christmas tree by v…. BRO THAT SONG HNNNGGGG
BAD BOY VIBES ON POINT
WAIT I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THAT SOMG I WILL LOSTEN TO VORPAL SWORDS ASAP. A RAP PART? SHJFJDI IM FREAKING OUT
stay safe always ty for this this got kinda long too <33

I don't know your secrets
But I'll pick up the pieces
Pull you close to me now
After the match against Kuroko and Akashi, Maimi went on with her life like normal. There was no longer a need to worry about past mistakes or wonder if things could have ended up different had she actually done something back then. There was no longer a need for her to think about the past when the future in front of her was much better. She could have stayed at the academy but there was nothing here that caught her interest. The only reason why she had chosen the all girl’s school was because she wanted to run away from her problems as far as she could, but now that Akashi was back to normal and no longer forbade her from going to any other school beside his own. There were more opportunities for her.
So far she had gone to a handful of other surrounding high schools closer to home to see if any would stick out to her but there was nothing that made her gravitate in any direction. The one school that came close was Shutoku to be with Midorima but she had a feeling her presence would incite a new set of teasing from Takao that could potentially lead the green haired boy to finally dispose of him. For now she would have to call that plan B until further notice. Rakuzan was highly recommended by her parents considering they had the best education out of the rest of her options but the only reason she wanted to change schools was to stay closer to her family home. Plus, while things were good between her and Akashi she didn’t want the special treatment she received the day she decided to give in and take an official tour of the school. A special car was promised to come pick her up everyday along with an apartment that would be supplied by Akashi’s family business. She felt like a new specimen when she walked around the halls with all the eyes burning holes through her. They had never seen anyone beside the basketball team around Akashi so it was a shock when he showed up with the pretty blonde close by his side. Rakuzan was a huge no.
There were other schools that had potential but considering she hoped to be a manager for a basketball team it made it even more difficult for her to decide. Seiren and Kaijo high were both next on the list to check out. Which led her to her current situation of flipping through brochures of each high school weighing if either were academically good enough for her to attend.
She wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings and was too engrossed in her own thoughts to notice a familiar face in the crowd of pedestrians. Until that said person ran up to her yelling, “Mai-cchi! Mai-cchi!” Hearing that old nickname made her finally look up in time to see a beaming Kise run up to her. He was still wearing his school uniform but it looked disheveled like he had been in a rush before. “Hi Kise, are you running from some fangirls or something?”
“Huh? No, why?” He looked confused by the question probably thinking it was random until she pointed to his tie that was left hanging and wrinkled shirt. She had known him long enough to realize that it was out of character to see him look sloppy. There was hardly a day that she could remember seeing even a single hair out of place unless he had another run in with some crazy fans. “Oh, no. I just came from a photo shoot. I was rushing to put my clothes on.” A light blush covered his cheeks and a bit of his ears realizing his mistake while he attempted to fix his own tie. “Why were you rushing?”
“I…I saw you through the store window.” Maimi was thrown off by the answer but she didn’t show it on her face, or at least she tried not but she avoided the comment by reaching forward and fixing his tie that he was struggling with. “You should be more careful. You still have my number, you could have messaged me or called.”
“Yeah but you had that look on your face.” Kise’s response made her slightly self conscious not understanding what he meant by that. Noticing her discomfort he waved his hands in a panic denying it as an insult. “No! I mean you just get this look on your face whenever you’re so far gone in your own world. You never hear anyone because your thoughts are too loud. It’s not weird I promise. I actually think it’s cute. But not in a weird way!” Seeing the normally confident boy scramble for the right words made her heart flutter unexpectedly, but she had decided to hide it with a small giggle. “Thank you. I’m glad it wasn’t weird.”
“Sure. What’s that?” He points to the pamphlets in her hands that had her undivided attention just moments ago.
She lifts them up for him to see the contents and when he saw his high school’s name on one of them a small bit of excitement and hope filled his heart. “I’m looking into transferring now that Akashi is back to normal. I’ve been looking for a while now but I’ve been touring new schools for the last couple of weeks.”
“And you’re thinking about coming to Kaijo?”
“Yeah, it looks like it. I’ve been wanting to get back into managing a team officially but every school either doesn’t have a good academic record, a good team, or one of you guys there to complicate things. I was thinking about you since we didn’t have issues after middle school but now that I think about it your fans might harass me again once they realize we know each other.” She proceeds to explain but Kise interrupts her before she could continue. “They won’t.”
She laughs a bit, “I think you’re undermining how popular you are. I’ll definitely be in some misunderstanding with some girls.”
“Don’t worry. I made it work before and I’ll make sure they don’t. Just come to Kaijo with me.”
“I mean I don’t know I still have to look at the academic scores-”
“We have a great science program. I’m not a good example but we have a competitive school for academics.”
“Well I still need to speak to my parents, Kise. Why do you want me to go there so bad?” They had never been the closest out of the rest of the group before but she did know that he had a small crush on her back then with the way that he liked to flirt with her. She just never paid it any mind since she was with Aomine during that time. Maimi assumed he just grew out of it over time. “I just think I’ll be able to hit my full potential with you there. Which is good for you, right? I can be your newest challenge.”
That part was actually true. She had always known that Kise had the most potential to explore out of the rest. If she were able to get him back to his full health she would be able to test out how far he could go. There was even some potential he could be better than Kagami and Aomine. “I’ll think about it.” Before he could argue more they were interrupted by his cell phone ringing.
“Hello? Momo-cchi…oh that sounds like a great idea! I’m with Mai-cchi. I'll let her know about it right now…sure…we just ran into each other after I had a photo shoot here near the arcade…both of you are? Perfect, we'll head your way so we can start planning this all out! Bye!” When he hung up Kise seemed overly excited about whatever they had spoken about. “Momo-cchi and Ao-cchi are close by at the burger shop down a couple blocks. Let’s go.”
There was no room to argue since he just pulled Maimi by her hand in a rush to meet the pair wherever they were at. In the past she may have had a difficult time but after the last match there was no need any longer to worry about her heart aching at the sight of them. The problem was the taller blonde pulling her away to an unknown location. “Why are we both going? You didn’t even tell me what this is about.”
“Oh, Momo-cchi said she was planning a birthday surprise for Kuroko. We’re going to play streetball together. Now come on.”
Which was how the pair ended up sitting across from Aomine and Momo. “Tetsu said okay. Alright!”
“Didn’t Midorima say he’d come if he felt like it?”
“He’ll be fine.”
“Why are you so confident?”
“Don’t worry Shin will come. I’ll be sure of it.” Maimi says in between sipping her milkshake. “Yup. Now that just leaves Mukkun. He said it sounded like a pain in the butt and hung up on me.”
“What should we do about him?”
“What are you even doing here for Kise?” Aomine finally asks, seeing the opportunity to get the answers he wanted when he first saw the two walk into together hand in hand. He knew that he had no say in the matter but it didn’t stop the feeling in his gut that it wasn’t good for him. “He was at a studio in the area doing a model shoot.” Unfortunately that didn’t answer his real question but it would just make things awkward if he proceeded to ask about them being together. “And I met Kise along the way.” Maimi on the other hand was able to read his expression and while she didn’t owe it to him to explain herself, she did want to clear a misunderstanding before they would have their reunion with the rest of the guys.
“Getting Murasakibarachhi to come to Tokyo is our biggest obstacle right now.”
“You just need to set out some bait.”
“How?”
“Listen closely. First put a tasty snack out where he’ll see it. He’ll definitely go for it. Then lay out some more.”
“He’ll be in Tokyo before he knows it.”
“Great idea, right?” Maimi was lost of words seeing the pair agree that it was the greatest plan to have ever been hatched in their time. She was genuinely wondering if they were serious. “Can’t you take this seriously?! Forget it. I’ll do it myself.” Momo had given up on the two dummies in front of her and proceeded to dial the purple foodie’s number.
“Mukkun, I found a really tasty snack. Aren’t you interested? It has a new crisp but doughy texture. It’s sort of like Vietnamese cuisine. And the secret ingredients are sakura shrimp and powdered foie gras. I’ll get you some, so could you come to Tokyo on the 31st? It’s really good!” The whole group had leaned in to listen for his response but it seemed like he was ready to hop on a train now. “That’s not much different from my plan.”
“It’s the realistic version of your plan.”
“But Murasakibaracchi’s resolve is wavering.”
“I guess I’ll go.” His lazy voice calls out through the phone letting them all know that Momo’s plan had worked. “Then I’ll do my best to make some.”
“You idiot!”
“Wait, Momo.” Maimi was too late to grab the phone before he hung up on them all. “What? No way! Wait!” They were pretty close but unfortunately Momo’s terrible reputation for her culinary skills did them in. At first Maimi was tempted to call him back and promise him her own treats but she didn’t want to hurt Momo’s feelings. Instead, she settled for sending a message to Akashi for help. Their last chance at getting the group back together. “Don’t worry we’ll get Akashi to do it instead. Anyways, I have to start heading home now it’s getting late.” When she gets up Kise beats everyone to the punch by jumping from his seat to follow after her. “I’ll walk you home since I dragged you with me. Bye guys!” Before Aomine could disagree they were already out the door leaving him with Momo who felt bad for her childhood friend. While he was nowhere near perfect she hoped that one day they could get back together. He was much better now than he was back then but with Kise now in the picture there was a bit of doubt that would be possible.
Kise had always found Maimi attractive but that wasn’t what had piqued his interest. As a professional model he was constantly surrounded by beautiful women, either his age or older, so he should have been immune to the dainty blonde. It could have been when they were classmates in their second year at Teiko. Unlike the rest of the other girl’s in his class she was the only one that wouldn’t even shoot him a glance. At first he didn’t think much about it but as time went on he began to feel a bit disgruntled by it. Unknowingly, he found himself watching her out of the corner of his eye. It started with looking over at her whenever he would get a crowd of girls to giggle to see if he could get her to crack a smile. Somehow he would only catch the back of her head on her way out of the classroom. Then it turned into going out of his way to impress her with his athletic ability to pick up any skill just by watching once. It never worked which confused him even more since his social standing kept rising. He was left stumped on how to get her attention until the day he was hit in the back of his head with a basketball and met Aomine. He followed after him remembering that Teiko was well known for their basketball team and thought it was worth looking into. Kise never thought he would feel inspired after just watching the way that the darker skinned boy jumped over the rest of the defending players to dunk the ball he just retrieved. It was the first time he felt himself wanting to actually try out for a sport’s team. When Maimi came up to for the first time speaking to him outside of the classroom he sealed the deal from then onward. He would later find out that she was taken by that same player that got him interested in basketball in the first place. While he respected and looked up to Aomine it didn’t stop him from taking advantage of his new found friendship with the blonde he had been trying to woo. Rather it just inclined him to try harder. He continued to chase after her but when things got rocky with Aomine he stopped his insistent badering. The pair was on thin ice and for any other person that may have been in his position would have taken advantage; it just didn’t feel right. Instead he would try to step in when Aomine would snap at her out of nowhere and even tried to cheer her up but it wasn’t enough. The light from her eyes became dimmer and she no longer was the confident and sweet girl he had first met. There was a time that he wanted to replace Aomine in her heart but after the way they broke up it seemed impossible.
So, he waited for her. It took a long time but he didn’t mind. He knew there was unfinished business with the others that needed to be resolved and let her breathe while he could. At first he wanted to be the one that swooped in and saved her but his arrogant thoughts were diminished when he first lost against Kuroko. It took him a while to realize that he couldn’t reach his full potential without acknowledging the rest of his teammates' contribution as well. When he was thrust back into the reality that he wasn’t this perfect specimen he realized that there was no need to save her. He would see her from a far and realize that she was becoming more than a damsel that needed to be saved. She no longer would walk with her head down or have a hard time holding eye contact. Maimi was her own strength and all he wanted was to watch from afar as she strived to be better.
He was okay with that being as far as their relationship would go. At least at first he was but when he saw her sitting with Aomine and Momo at the last match he realized that wouldn’t be possible. Kise wanted nothing but her happiness. He wanted to see her smile again with pure eyes no longer filled with a hint of loneliness; he wanted her to laugh so loud and hard that she had to gasp for air; he wanted her to confidently hold her head high while she faced the world. He wanted all that but he wanted to be one that contributed to that happiness as well.
She was his old friend's ex-girlfriend, so there would probably be a bit of apprehension from her. He still ran outside the modeling agency the moment his eyes caught sight of the familiar figure in the busy street of Tokyo. Now here he was walking her to her family home, falling into a deeper infatuation with her as she talked about her transfer and what she wanted to do afterwards.
He always felt like it was too soon to think about graduation or think about what he would do after high school. Hearing her speak about college and how she wanted to be a doctor specializing in sports medicine, made him think about it as well. “What do you want to do after high school, Kise? We’re going to be in our second year soon. You should start thinking about it.”
“Hm…I’m not too sure. I could just keep being a model since it pays well enough.”
“Sure that could work. Would you want to go to college or play basketball?”
This was the part that made him think more in depth. He did love basketball but he had no real idea if he would want to continue playing in college. School work and him never really mixed. “Well if you keep modeling for a while you could try to get recruited by a professional team. You’ve gotten a lot better.”
“Well if I had you by my side maybe I could be better.” It was meant to be a hint that he wanted to continue training with her but he realized that it sounded more like a pick up line. His face felt warm when he realized she stayed quiet for a while not answering. Gathering enough courage he sneaked a peek at her and saw her fair skin engrossed with a tint of red as well. “I-I mean, I want you to come to Kaijo with me and the rest of my team. You could do great at Seiren as well but…I need you there.” He had no idea what he was saying anymore. It was like his mind was stuck on auto considering the words kept spilling out of him despite how embarrassed he had become admitting his feelings. He waited for a reply but when she stopped in front of the gate of a single story home he realized their time had run out.
On the other hand Maimi could see the slight disappointment on his face realizing that they would now have to part, and she couldn’t stop the smile that made its way onto her face. She never saw him in that light but then again she hadn’t thought of anyone in that light besides Aomine. Now that she had given up on him she realized she should start to explore the idea of moving on to someone else. “I’ll think about it but…Kaijo seems to be at the top of the list right now.” While she was more confident she still couldn’t flirt back to save her life but she hoped that was enough to show Kise she was interested. Too embarrassed to see his reaction she ran inside the gate to her front door. Before she closed the door though she called out to the stunned boy. “Thank you for walking me home. I’ll message you tomorrow when to meet up for the reunion.”
Once the door closed Kise couldn’t help but smile so big his cheeks hurt. Punching the air in excitement not realizing Maimi had seen the sweet reaction from her front window.
Kise knew that she was barely getting over Aomine but he would wait as long as it took to get the girl of his dreams. He just hoped that when the time came she would look his way.
I wanna be your summer, I wanna be your wave

Hello! May I ask headcanons for Kiseki no Sedai? Their reaction to their girl being cool and sexually dancing (something like k-pop girl group cover dance, if you know it) with her dance team at a school festival (or something like that).
A/N: Since my character limit is five I chose to do hcs for Akashi, Aomine, Kise, Murasakibara and Midorima, hope that’s fine with you! I immediately thought of Loona’s dance cover of Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 (https://youtu.be/s7kxoMYg3l8) which is so BADASS (both the song and choreography) and Move by Taemin (inspired by Twice’s cover: https://youtu.be/QTfzryUBlO0). Reader is in a group that dances to both in one set! Also I’m assuming the reader is in the school’s dance club/group that decided to do a cover of a lit K-pop song for some kind of school festival!
Akashi Seijuro
Since he is president of the student council, he is backstage helping ensure the performances/festival runs smoothly
Has timings of each performance down to the second — and he knows exactly when you and your dance group is slated to perform
Since your dance group had to submit the songs + a short clip of your performance to the student council, Akashi already knows what songs you are going to perform
Was going to do some more research on what the choreography involved, but you begged him not to because you wanted to surprise him at the festival
Doesn’t stop him from listening to the songs and familiarizing himself with the melodies and lyrics - k-pop is something you are passionate about and he always want to learn more about his girlfriend
While you and your group are on deck and getting ready to go on stage (he knows there are still two more acts before you) he stands next to you
Maybe kisses your forehead I AM SO SOFT FOR FOREHEAD KISSES FIGHT ME
“I’d say good luck, but I don’t think you’ll need it darling” afjaofe;ja;feka
You’re Akashi fucking Seijuro’s girlfriend - he has high standards and probably would date someone who is equally as hardworking + high achieving as him
Besides, outside of basketball he knows Rakuzan has an equally formidable dance program so the boy knows you are talented
Is so impressed when you start dancing to Cherry Bomb - the choreography is intense and requires so much synchronization as you switch between all the complex formations - he thinks you could teach the basketball team a thing or two about teamwork
You go HARD with the tutting at the end before you start doing edging your feet out until you’re almost doing the splits - Akashi respects how much strength and training went into performing the dance break + ending flawlessly
When the music changes to Move he is STARING at you - eyes are glued to your form as you perform
The moves are so sensual and he can see how you intensely look out into the audience - he can sense the sexual tension that fills the room
At the same time is awed by how much control you have over your body - he can see how every movement is planned, from the position of your hands to the way you shift your weight between each dance move
As your hands glide along your body, he can’t help but get slightly turned on
Also glares at all the male members of the student body who are looking at you a little too intently
When you finish your set he calmly hands you a water bottle while smiling proudly
May ask you for a private encore later
Aomine Daiki
You mention the performance in passing, probably while you and Aomine are having lunch on the roof
Despite his nonchalant response, Aomine remembers that you’re performing in the back of his mind - although he does get the occasional reminder from Momoi or teasing remark from Imayoshi
Doesn’t really want to get too involved in the school festival - it’s far too rowdy and he thinks the idea his class came up with for the festival is a hassle (imagine if it was a butler cafe LMAO poor Aomine)
Probably sneaks away from his shift managing his classroom’s booth or to find you and wish you luck (or uses you as an excuse to ditch his shift for a couple of minutes)
He knows you’re good at dance - he’s seen how many hours you spend rehearsing and how much you love dancing (and Kpop)
Will sneak into the auditorium and probably stand in the middle of the crowd - probably doesn’t see the point of cramming in the crowded area right in front of the stage
Impatiently waits for you to come up on stage, he’s bored and is sick of the skits that other groups are putting on
When it’s finally your turn he’s focusing intently on the stage. The instant you come out in a badass outfit with dark makeup and a black crop top he grins because you look AMAZING
The music starts and you launch into an intense sequence of tutting and formations shifts that has his eyes widening in surprise
now he understands why you always felt the need to drill the choreography into your muscle memory, because remembering moves on top of switching spots with everyone else makes the performance that much more impressive
Proud of his badass girlfriend
When Move comes on he smirks - although you can’t see him, he watches you move your hips and trace the outline of your figure
Can appreciate the sensual yet serious expression on your face that makes you look gorgeous, but definitely does not appreciate the dumbass boys in the audience who are drooling over your body
After the performance he finds you and kisses you before wrapping his arm around your shoulders
Scowling at the now intimidated boys from before, he says “Gotta remind those idiots that you’re mine”
Will definitely invite you over to his place to spend the night for some “quality time”
Kise Ryouta
Kise knows you’ll be performing a kpop dance at the school festival and is super excited
He probably helped style you and your team for each song - pulling out some leather jackets and ripped jeans for Cherry Bomb and picking out a diverse all black ensemble + accessories for your cover of Move
He hypes you up all day about the showcase: sends you good luck texts and gives you a hug before you have to go backstage + will keep you company when you do your make up before hand
Is not afraid to elbow his way through the audience so he can have a front row seat to your performance
Made the entire Kaijo basketball team come with him and instructs them to cheer loudly for your performance
He’s pretty up to date with current music trends and listens to a fair amount k-pop himself so he’d probably recognize the songs you were dancing to + be somewhat familiar with the choreography
When you come on stage he’s already shouting “Go y/n-chii!!!” which makes you smile and you manage to make brief eye contact with him right before you get into your starting pose
It’s like a switch is flicked - you went from being his cute and smiley girlfriend to a serious BADASS - your expressions are so intense and serious Kise can’t help but be drawn in
When he hears the opening line of Cherry Bomb he’s thinking oh shit because damn that choreography is tough
From the tutting, to moving in sync with all the other members, to all the different formation changes - he knows this is a challenging piece to perform
Gave you his leather jacket (he probably got it from a modelling gig or something) to wear and seeing you dance in his jacket is just *chef’s kiss* stunning
and it lets all the other annoying boys in the crowd know that you’re his because it has his jersey number embroidered on the back
If people start shouting the fanchants he’ll join in because anything to support his amazing girlfriend
When you all change outfits and switch to move he is dying
He’s right in front of you and you are making very direct and SENSUAL eye contact with your boyfriend while you move your hips into another body roll
Kise smirks back and will pin you with an equally intense and lustful stare
When he sees you after the performance he immediately strides towards you and pulls you into a fierce kiss
Spends the rest of the festival with his arm around you, bragging about his amazing girlfriend to anyone who will listen, then he’ll take you home and ;)
May take advantage of perfect copy and learn a duet/routine with you sometime in the future
Midorima Shintaro
MY CARROT BOI — I swear I am taking this seriously
Midorima probably doesn’t listen to too much kpop - he prefers being able to enjoy the lyrics of a song and listening to Japanese music means he won’t have to look up lyric translations
Maybe has heard some Japanese versions of kpop songs on the radio, but is overall unfamiliar with the genre (context: Since Japan has such a huge market for K-pop, it’s not uncommon for groups to release Japanese albums where they sing the the in Japanese)
When you first mention that your club is going to be performing at the school festival, he probably pictures some cutesy, bubblegum pop girl group song
Is putting this into his calendar and making sure he sets reminders because he is NOT about to miss his girlfriend’s performance
Secretly happy because you are putting in extra practice for the rehearsal which means you stay late at school. Since basketball practice always runs late he’s glad he now has the chance to walk you home
Day of: checks your Oha-Asa horoscope and makes sure that you have your lucky item - he will buy it himself if necessary
Knows you worked super hard on this performance so he knows you’re going to be fine
This tsundere carrot shyly wishes you good luck before you head backstage: “Good luck y/n, not that you’ll need it! Nanodayo…” with a slight blush on his cheeks
Makes his way back to the audience - he made Takao save him a spot
Somehow Takao got his hands on a setlist/hear rumors and figured out what you were performing and is secretly filming Midorima’s reaction because your boyfriend is about to COMBUST
Cherry Bomb comes up and Midorima immediately realizes this is NOT the cute girl group dance he was envisioning
Is probably watching your performance intently - he never realized that your choreography would be this intense and physical
Probably not as blushy during this one, just entranced and absorbed into your performance (will refuse to admit that he stared at you the entire time, even though Takao teases him about it later)
But when you transition to the cover of Move, oh gosh, this boy goes from stony faced to bright red tomato
Is 100% blushing and gaping at you while you perform the sensual routine, especially when your hands move across your body and you purposefully make eye contact with him
Realizing holy shit my girlfriend is so sexy holy shit you thought he was staring at you during Cherry Bomb his eyes are glued to your figure during Move
Probably rushes up to you awkwardly and gives you a surprise hug before whispering “Give me a little warning next time y/n.”
You giggle a bit, not mentioning the routine you’re learning on your own (Dally by Hyolyn: https://youtu.be/b75eENj0WCQ) surprise him with it in the future hehehehehehe)
Murasakibara Atsuhi
Murasakibara is hanging out in your dorm room when you mention that you have an upcoming performance
“Ohh y/n-chan that sounds fun”
Lowkey pouty baby because he wanted to laze around during the festival and just spend the day trying all the food with you
Now he won’t have his girlfriend to keep him company for the whole day
When you ask him if he’s going to come and watch, he’ll agree, because it’s at the school and it isn’t too much of a hassle and he knows you put in a lot of practice so he wants to support
Tatsuya probably still has to remind him about the performance on the day of
On the morning of your performance you wake up to find a bag of your favorite snacks and candies hanging on your doorknob
Murasakibara probably went to the nearby convenience store and bought you a bunch of “good luck” snacks to surprise you
Tatsuya and him walk into the auditorium, is kind of disappointed to see that it’s already packed so he has to settle for a seat farther away than what he liked
Thankfully he’s tall AF so he still gets a clear view of the stage
Snacks through the other performances/skits and gets pretty bored, he’s here to see you and you only
Finally, they announce your club - Murasakibara immediately perks up with interest
Your group has a badass entrance before you start performing Cherry Bomb
You decided to temporarily dye your hair red for the performance and Murasakibara is surprised when you whip off the hat you were wearing to reveal bright cherry tinted hair
He’s watched you practice the moves several time and knows you struggled to master some of them - super proud when he sees you slay those hard bits of choreography on stage
Move comes on the speaker and he immediately can sense that this is definitely a very sensual dance
Like damn, watching you move your hips to the beat and confidently gazing into the crowd, he is very turned on definitely wants an encore from you in private
When you hit the last pose and the lights dim he is IMMEDIATELY walking out of the auditorium to find you
Sees that you’re surrounded by some newly acquired fanboys and casually steps in behind you to wrap an arm around your waist
Towers over the guys surrounding at you, a scowl from him scares them off
You giggle at his antics because he’s cute when he’s jealous: “You don’t need to be that mean to them Atsushi”
“Y/n-chaaaan, can we go get food now?” - probably buys you all the snacks you want because he is proud
Also suggests that you dye your hair to match his purple locks just because

Hello, colorseeingchick, I hope you’re having a nice day, and congrats on reaching 200 followers! I wanted to say I really like your Kuroko no Basket posts. I was recently looking for some small fanfics of Kuroko no Basket and I am glad I’ve found yours. I am also looking forward to reading your “Oh! Baby Series” of Tsukishima.
For the 200 Follower event, I would like to request a Kuroko no Basket matchup. I’d prefer to be matched with a male and my pronouns are she/her. I am currently 16 years old, I have brown skin and dark brown eyes. My hair is a dark brown color(almost black), very curly, and it reaches toward my mid-back. I’m 5’2” in height and I am an Aquarius(For Midorima).
I usually like to watch anime and read in my free time. I really love chocolate and exercising. I dislike people that lie a lot, peanuts, peanut butter, pecans, almonds, avocados, and onions. My hobbies are writing, drawing, reading, watching tv, singing, and playing the Piano. I think I’m particularly talented at writing since everyone seems to like my writing very much and right now I’m practicing my creative writing skills.
Personality: When I first meet someone, I tend to be quiet and just observe everyone. If anyone comes up to me, I usually just introduce myself, and depending on who the person is I may strike up a conversation. If I don’t then the person that’s talking to me will usually make conversation and I will quietly listen. I would usually just nod or say things like (yea, right, mhm) to show that I am listening. If I begin to feel comfortable I will give my opinion on the subject or try to strike up my own topic. But once I get really comfortable with that person I can become very goofy. I’ll start randomly dancing in the hallways and make weird sounds when I’m with that person. And depending on the person this can either increase or decrease in weirdness. I’m very good at listening to people especially when it comes to a person talking about their passions. My friends and family tend to laugh at a few things I say. They’re never really jokes there just situations I’ve been in and Apparently, they’re funny. I don’t tend to touch people, the most I really do regularly is either is put my hand/elbow on the person’s shoulder(Doesn’t matter if they’re tall or short) or begin poking them in odd places.
Negative Things: If someone is sad or insecure about something, I don’t know how to react, I usually just stare at them while they cry to themselves. I would not suggest that any of my friends come to me for emotional support. Unless they just want someone to listen to them. I don’t know how to take compliments. Once someone compliments me I usually just stare at the person or say thank you very slowly.
Additional: Since me and my friends were in chorus, we would usually just begin singing our chorus songs very loudly. It didn’t matter where we were, we would just begin singing. There was a time where my friend called me super sweet because I was checking up on them during the pandemic. My friends also said I give the best presents and truthfully I struggle trying to find presents. I want to give my friends something they can use or they really like. For example, I gave my friend a drawing notebook and some art supplies since they like to do art. I’ve been told that I have a mean resting face and that I act more mature for my age. I also asked my friends to describe me and they said, “Beautifully, Creative, Loving, Silly, Writer, Fashionable, Pretty, Innocent, and Nice Hairstyles.”
I swear I don’t where they’re getting these nice compliments. Hopefully, this is not too long.
Hello noodleman!!!! This was perfect do not worry. They compliment you because you're amazing haha. I always see you in my notifications and it makes me so happy :) I’m very excited to do both your matchups! For KNB, I’ve matched you with…
Akashi Seijuro!
Tumblr media
We all know Akashi is a powerful man who’s been through a lot. As a girlfriend, you would be the one to both compliment his power and balance out his emotional state, even if you don’t intend to. And that would be the source of the beauty of your relationship with him.
You were a student at Rakuzan who would mind her own business. Akashi was in your class (ranking at the top) for the new school year, and you two sat next to each other. Akashi (this is the OG Akashi- the nice one) would introduce himself to you, and you would do the same. You observed Akashi quietly. The way he was so put together. His calm demeanor. His pretty eyes and how they were keenly watching everything. You didn’t realize he was observing you as well. While you both were just normal acquaintances at that point, things were about to change.
One day, you heard Akashi talking about basketball next to you. You could hear how passionate he was about it from the way he talked. The person he was talking to walked away, but you couldn’t help but ask him about basketball. Watching him talk that way was so enticing.
He looked at you for a second before smiling kindly and asking, “would you like to learn about basketball?” From there, you two would have a very engaged conversation with Akashi fanboying in a way that was as classy as fanboying could get, while you were listening attentively. You had to leave for the end of the day, but you left with a smiling Akashi out the door of the classroom.
The next major interaction between you two happened a few days later. You were doodling in your notebook when you heard him speak. “You’re very talented at drawing.”
You smiled awkwardly at the compliment, unsure of how to respond, so you just looked at him. He didn’t mind though. He just smiled back. “If you draw again, I’d like to see.” He then left soon after.
While you didn’t doodle again, you decided that maybe you were comfortable around Akashi, more than you thought you were.
A major shift in your dynamic happened one day when you were writing down intensely into a journal, stopping only when your hand hurt, taking time to think about your next words when you felt a light tap on your arm.
“Excuse me, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you writing?” He genuinely looked interested, which caught you by surprise.
And so you explained the short story you were writing. Akashi asked questions about the characters, the plot, where you got the idea from- all sorts of things. You both didn’t realize everyone else had already emptied out. “If you would like to share your story with me sometime, I would love to read it. And if you’d like to come by and watch my basketball team play, let me know.”
He was surprisingly easy to talk to. And that was the point where you both got closer. As you got closer, talking and learning more about each other, you both started to fall bit by bit. You both had a long list of hobbies and talents, much of which overlapped. Akashi was mesmerized by your singing, though he knew you wouldn’t like to hear the compliment if he gave it to you. Instead, he just asked you to always sing and gave you his full attention when you did. It went without say he loved your writing. He was a talented musician himself, and you found his game pretty entertaining- the way he dominated on the court.
He asked you out after Rakuzan had taken a big victory before the winter cup. You’d come to watch the game.
“Will you celebrate with me?” He asked you.
“With your team?”
“No, actually.” He’d smile at you and step closer, but had not invaded your personal space. “I’d like to actually get some time with you, on a date.”
He was pleased you said yes. The date went well. He’d learned you were mature, which is what he was looking for in a partner. He already knew you were talented and a good listener. It wasn’t long before he asked you to be his girlfriend officially.
Your dynamic with Akashi was well tailored. Being the captain of Rakuzan, he had an image to maintain- one of power. And having a girlfriend who he knew to be intimidating as well (your resting face was intense) was a fitting situation. He knew you observed and listened well, which is why he could trust that you would be thoughtful- something that was also very important to him. You also cared for efficiency and purpose. But what he didn’t realize he needed so badly was your goofiness. After you two had gotten as close as you were, he learned how funny your stories were and saw you in your most comfortable states. He loved your fun goofy side. It helped him live a little, too. He enjoyed elbowing you back when you did it to him (it was the most innocent playful thing he’d done). It didn’t bother Akashi all that much that you didn’t know how to deal with other people being emotional. He wasn’t one to show negative emotions all that much and didn’t project that expectation onto you, which made it a bit easier. He knew that if he needed to talk it out and have someone listen, he could always go to you.
Overall you and Akashi managed to balance out on a lot of your ideologies, world views, hobbies, and life practices. While some were the same, others were different- but in a complimentary way. It’s quite a beautiful dynamic, really.
~~~
Ahhh I really hope you like it! Lemme know what you think hehe. I'm excited to do your MHA one too!
Kiridai vs Players They Have Their Eyes On
And why this could be the case(another interesting thing to look into!)
Referencing the Kurofes Book
Hanamiya - Has his eyes on Kiyoshi
An obvious one.A fellow non-rakuzan uncrowned king who is the exact opposite of him.
Like Furuhashi said, Hanamiya hates the type of person Kiyoshi is, and when things don’t go his way.
He wants to crush Kiyoshi so badly, both physically and mentally for his fluffy pure ideals. I’d imagine Hanamiya has met people like Kiyoshi, and is usually successful with breaking their pure beliefs, but Kiyoshi has been a brick wall for him.
Him being unsuccessful pisses him off beyond belief.
Things don’t go his way at crushing the type of guy that he hates??? Good god.
His whole point of joining basketball was that “there were a lot of annoying people there”
So of course he has his eyes on Kiyoshi, he’s his main target. An unbreakable one at that.
If anything, I think Hanamiya should take pointers from Murasakibara(fellow Kiyoshi hater lol), because he was more successful at breaking Kiyoshi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seto - Has his eyes on Imayoshi
Fascinated that this is another smart and ruthless player that knows Hanamiya better than anyone. Imayoshi is almost like another Hanamiya, just minus the rough play, cause Imayoshi frankly doesn’t need it to still irritate the other players all the same.
And the fact that Hanamiya acknowledges and believes that Imayoshi is worse than himself??? Now that piqued Seto’s interest.
The “I don’t really know him, but are you one to talk?” line
Seto is still shocked that Kuroko was the one who ruined the spider web, something that Seto plays a key role in.  Hanamiya said that Seirin was the first to “ruin his plans”, so of course Seto was usually successful.
I actually think this is maybe why Seto feels comfortable sleeping during matches, because he doesn’t expect to fail. Every match beforehand was the same song and dance, so he didn’t have to worry about whatever happened earlier in the match, he assumed things would go according to plan as always.
So to see Imayoshi be able to stop Kuroko in the Seirin v. Touou 2 match, the player who essentially caused Seto to fail for the first time, only piqued his interests in the touou captain further.
I don’t think Seto is that passionate about basketball, but failing for the first time made him more motivated to practice(though it doesn’t really matter since the kiridai practices have become more brutal anyway after the seirin v. rakuzan match)
 He likely took the things he saw from the Seirin v. Touou 2 match and took it into consideration during practice, so if/when Kirisaki Daiichi meets with Seirin, he’ll be prepared.
Furuhashi - Has his eyes on Akashi
The other characters who have their eyes on Akashi (Nijimura, Shirogane, Midorima) have some noticeable relation to him, (Previous Teiko Captain, Head coach of Teiko, a close friend, respectively).
Furuhashi is the only one who doesn’t. So he’s purely looking from an outside perspective. As far as we know, he doesn’t personally know Akashi.
An obvious reason for the intrigue is just because of Akashi’s skills. That could be the reason why any player may have their eyes on a GoM. The question becomes “Why this particular GoM player?”
I think Furuhashi may be interested in ankle break, and learning it himself
He’s particularly interested in being able to make players kneel before him, instead of simply falling over.
His special ability is the worst of Kiridai so that must have proven tricky
Although Furuhashi is mainly on Kiridai for the roughplay, he perhaps has some interest in improving his basketball skills too.
And who better to look at than Akashi right?
His main interest in Akashi either stems from prior knowledge of him, or after watching the Seirin v. Rakuzan match.
Hara - Has his eyes on Murasakibara
The hardest for me to figure out honestly
Similar to Furuhashi, a case of “It’s natural to have your eyes on the GoM, so why is Murasakibara specifically the one that interests Hara the most?”
He’s also the only one with eyes on Murasakibara
I honestly think Hara simply admires him. His reason for joining basketball was because he thought it was cool right? Murasakibara may be one of the reasons, if not THE reason he thinks it’s cool.
Murasakibara is so lax and yet he’s one of the top high school players in Japan?? That’s what struck Hara.
The two are similar. Purple hair, carefree/childish attitude(though their carefree-ness are different), though they still perform well in basketball despite this.
And actually since fujimaki depicted Hara with blonde hair in the manga, and there’s common headcanon that Hara dyes his hair. If you go with that headcanon, you can think that Hara chose lilac to kind of match Murasakibara(a huge stretch but why not)
Interestingly enough, Murasakibara is also a part of the health committee
Murasakibara also usually has something “in his mouth”, in his case its food. Though he never does during matches, unlike Hara and his gum.
I also like to imagine that Hara used to be the tallest of Kiridai before Seto joined, beating Hara by a couple of centimeters. This annoyed him a bit, could be a pride thing.
And here is Murasakibara who is undeniably the tallest out of the whole league, and he’s younger than Hara.
So I think it might just be the skills and similarities Hara sees in Murasakibara, and his height is an aspiration.
Yamazaki - Has his eyes on Moriyama
The only one with eyes on Moriyama, but unlike Hara, it was a bit easier to come up with reasons why.
Fellow Shooting Guard, fascinated by his unorthodox/underhanded shot
Might also be interested in Moriyama because of him being a ladies man. Not that Yamazaki  wants to be one himself or necessarily wants a relationship per se
Yamazaki being in Kiridai gives him a bad impression, even if he’s the most sensible guy. People generally tend to stay away from the group, and thus, away from him.
4 out of 5 are “bad”, what are the chances that the one guy left will be any different right?
The cheerful girls that Yamazaki prefers, or girls in general see him and immediately flee, which bothers him.
Moriyama being a ladies man might give Yamazaki pointers on how to seem more presentable to girls, so they won’t run at a first glance at his uniform.
Yamazaki only knows that Moriyama is a “ladies man” from word of mouth though, he doesn’t know that Moriyama isn’t that successful either lol
Also I just realized the name similarities? Its all a coincidence but
Kiyoshi and Imayoshi rhymes
Furuhashi and Akashi rhymes
Hara and Murasakibara rhymes
And Yamazaki and Moriyama both have “Yama” in their name
Condemned
This almost devolved into something it shouldn’t have. As always, like clockwork. But this is basically a song fic, so I said to myself NO. You are NOT doing this again.
So here we go.
Inspired by Florence and the Machine’s “Heavy in Your Arms”.
A re-write of the pre-Rakuzan/Touou InterHigh match AoMomo argument, reimagined and with a different twist.
Title: “Condemned” on AO3 Word Count: 6069 Summary: She lifts her head to look into his eyes with the most intense glare he has ever been the recipient of. Satsuki's magenta eyes are sparking with anger, accusation and disdain.
Although looks cannot in fact kill, a part of Daiki certainly dies when their gazes lock.
"I hate you so much that if I could only live without you, I would kill you myself, with my own hands."
Daiki learns quickly about the fact he’s taken out of the Rakuzan/Touou match line up because of Satsuki and what she’s said to coach.
Because, of course she has.
Who else would notice what he tries to hide if not her? Who else would stick their neck out for him if not Satsuki?
He doesn’t seem to see it the same way though. He doesn’t say anything during practice when he’s told but she can see in his face that he’s livid.
He takes his duffel bag and storms out without a word to anybody but she can feel in her bones that he has a lot to say.
She knows better and doesn’t want to get in the middle of that before he works through it. So she stays at practice dutifully that day, despite the fact that all the other team members keep throwing her these furtive, worried looks.
Still, there’s only so long she can procrastinate the inevitable. She has to rip it off like a bandaid and she will need to confront Daiki about this. She has to at least try to make him see things the way they are—see them her way.
She finds him in his room.
Sulking, seething.
She almost doesn’t want to open her mouth and speak because she’s sure this will get very unsightly very fast.
Then again, she knew it from the moment he hid from the coach and acted as if he’s fine after his match with Kise when he hurt his arm. She knew he’s becoming dangerously self-destructive and that if she stands up for him, he will not appreciate it and it will blow up in her face.
But the alternative—pretending she doesn’t see, pretending, like he does, that it’s all fine—is just so much worse.
If he ends up crippling himself because she indulges his negligence and he ends up carrying this grudge that he remained undefeated his entire life—she doesn’t think she can live it down. It’s a regret in her life she refuses to have.
Anything else he has to say and do to her - she can survive that. Some way or another.
But not that.
Anything but that.
So she tries to explain this to him. That he is in no condition to be playing a full-out brawl against a champion candidate like Rakuzan. It will put unnecessary strain on his already damaged elbow. He needs to rest for now so he can play against them next time.
When his brows knit and his eyes narrow, she braces for the ugly argument she has seen coming from a mile away.
What she isn’t ready for is that as he lashes out, some of the things he says are that she is doing this to him to get in his way, pull his legs out from under him. That she doesn’t want to see him win, she wants him to fail so much that she will even go as far as sabotage him. All so she can have things her way.
It’s so rude of him to even think that, not to mention say it to her, because she will never do underhanded, blatantly disrespectful things like that.
She doesn’t feel that way and she always does things properly, gives every match her all, takes every opponent seriously—although he certainly doesn’t, so how dare he try to pin his vices on her?! If he wants to project his failures onto her, he has another thing coming.
She tells him so directly, gloves off and no sugarcoating. She tells him that even though he may do that, she never will. She treats every opponent with the respect they deserve for being able to stand on the court, and she believes she can learn from every match.
Satsuki sees the shadow that crosses his face at her accusation and she understands. She wishes she doesn’t but she is herself and he is Dai-chan, so she understands. That it hurts him to be failed again and again by spineless cowards who aren’t ready to deal with a prodigy like himself. People who don’t have his fiery tenacity, who don’t try as hard as he does, don’t put as much effort forward as he does. It’s only natural that they would get results vastly different than his, because what he invests is much different from what they do.
And she understands, but it’s pissing her off so damn much. That he’s willing to squander it all—willing to fight her over it, too—just over a single match with an opponent they will have three whole years to play against.
Because she knows the only one Daiki actually sees as a worthy opponent in Rakuzan is Akashi-kun and Akashi-kun only.
When he cuts her off, the argument veers off into an even more infuriating direction than it already was, because he has the gall to tell her that what she’s doing is for her own benefit and she’s being selfish. That she must have some hidden agenda to get in the way of his game and this must be bringing her some sick kind of pleasure.
He blames her for having some kind of God complex, that she thinks she always knows better than him, than coach, than everybody, and she has a need to constantly prove it.
He tells her with utter disdain that she probably feels so almighty for having the authority to use him as her little marionette whenever she sees fit just to prove to everyone and himself just how much better than everyone she knows, just to prove herself right.
It smarts, it stings, it hurts, because every little thing she does, every single one, she does for him and to look out for him.
She also gets that he’s pissed that everyone, every single person around them in every team he’s been in, wants to use him and abuse him for as long and as well as they can, but to blame her for doing the same?!
It’s a new low, even for him (and that’s already saying a lot). His childish anger at her stopping him from playing against Rakuzan is turning him into something she hates even more.
She lashes out violently, hurt beyond words that he would insinuate something like that. She has given up so many things already, all for his sake, only to have him act like a damn ingrate about it.
"Well, if it's such a pain, why don't you just leave then?! Go to Tetsu, transfer to Seirin! I know you wish you did that to begin with! So just go ahead and do it now! If you need a cue or you need me to say something so you feel free, THIS IS IT! Go, Satsuki! You're free!"
"Shut the fuck up, you moron!" she yells right back at him, tears now streaming down her sides from the raw emotion clawing at her being. "I DID want to go to Seirin with Tetsu-kun, I did want to break free from this chain of unhappiness but it's too late already!"
"How is it too late? You're still alive and have free will, don't you?! So act on it and go do what you fucking want! No one is making you stay. Get lost! I don't want to see your ugly face around here anymore!"
"Well it's just too bad for you then, because I am not planning on going anywhere! I'm here to stay, whether you like it or not! Deal with it!!"
Daiki squashes violently the tiny swelling of pure joy in his chest at her words. The choice she makes even when he is provoking her in the most unbecoming way possible.
Even when he outright pushes her away, she still chooses him.
Not Tetsu. Not anyone else. Him.
The feeling is resilient so he needs more time to stomp it out mentally than he thinks he would need.
And he has to stomp it out, otherwise his next words will never make it out of his mouth. And he isn’t letting her have the last word in this fight.
"Why?! You don't want to be here, do you? You're miserable, aren't you? Are you stupid or something? What could possibly keep you coming to keep getting hurt?! Get the fuck out of here!"
"Yes, I'm stupid! You're a moron but I'm even dumber than you are, for continuing to do this to myself! What an absolute idiot, right?!"
"Why?!" he roars back, confused and angrier than he's ever been in his life. "Why do it then? Give me one good reason why!"
"Because I love you, you fucking dumbass!"
Suddenly, he feels like he’s been speeding at a hundred miles per hour only to jump hard on the brakes and be abruptly brought to an instant halt.
The dumbfounded “What?” dies on his lips before he can verbalize it.
The feeling from hearing her say it, from the way she says it, is like she's slapped him across the face.
It's a confession, heartfelt and earnest, despite the heatedness of their argument.
Yet why does it feel like no blessing?
"I'm in love with you and I can't help needing to keep coming back. No matter that you keep hurting me again and again every time! It's too late already because I'm already so far gone that my own self-preservation doesn't matter. All I can think of is: how is he taking this? How can I help him? Will this make it any easier for him? Will this ease any of the burden he keeps piling up on himself? How is he feeling today? Will this make his day any better?"
"You don't need to do that!" Daiki protests vehemently, making her stomp her foot hard in response.
"I know I don't! I know it in my head, but here I am, doing it anyway! God knows you don't need to get a bigger head than you already have, and that your spoilt ass doesn't need any further spoiling, but here I am!! Doing it anyway! Caring still! No matter that you never care back at all!"
Daiki opens his mouth to rebut her but she gives him no room to say his piece, ploughing on without pause.
"I love you like it's some kind of curse, a shackle on my legs, binding me and keeping me here with you, rotting together with you in your self-made little hell! You will never say anything to keep me here but these damn feelings make fucking sure I continue hanging around your dumb self! It's a damn Stockholm syndrome I can't seem to get away from, no matter how I try!"
All of his words that he wants to fling at her die on his lips upon this last part of her tirade.
The worst part is that she is still not done, and her words are a mad shout while the tears keep running down her face unchecked. It doesn’t even occur to Daiki that this has been the most he’s ever heard her curse in all their lives. Or that it’s clearly indicative of just how this matter has been eating at her.
"I love you more than I ever should, but I hate you so much more than that! I hate you, I hate you, I hate your fucking guts, Daiki!"
She stomps her foot repeatedly on the floor in a desperate attempt to vent some of the stifling frustration. The tears splash down onto her hoodie and the ground, and become wet blotches.
"I hate you so fucking much that it kills me inside! I hate you more than you can imagine because the Dai-chan I fell in love with is nowhere to be found! You killed him, and gave me this twisted, fake, ugly version of him that I didn't want! He's nothing like the Dai-chan I fell in love with but I can still see him kind of there, lingering in a familiar touch, or hiding behind a familiar phrase and how fucking dare you?! How dare you kill the person I care for most and give me this fucking useless hand-me-down, washed out version of him with none of the spark he had?!"
She is glaring hard at the floor now. Her hands are balled into fists, her knuckles white. Her arms are strained as cords and shaking violently by her sides.
"You took away my Dai-chan and replaced him with someone I hate. Now all I have left is this crushing love that is only hurting me, and this overwhelming hate for you and all you've become. I hate it, and hate you for doing it to yourself and to me."
She has stopped crying at this point, but it feels more like the calm before the storm.
She lifts her head to look into his eyes with the most intense glare he has ever been the recipient of. Satsuki's magenta eyes are sparking with anger, accusation and disdain.
Although looks cannot in fact kill, a part of Daiki certainly dies when their gazes lock.
"I hate you so much that if I could only live without you, I would kill you myself, with my own hands."
Her angrily hissed confession makes his stomach turn. Daiki swallows heavily, spellbound as he continues holding her gaze with more courage than he actually has.
"But I can't live without you, so here I am. Touou's basketball club manager, still right next to you even though it hurts and even though I hate your guts. Because no matter how much I hate what you've become, I still believe like some fucking retard that the Dai-chan I fell in love with is still in there. Under the rotten, sarcastic, arrogant bastard you are showing to the world, he's still there and crying out for help and for someone to save him from you."
She swallows down heavily then, fixing him with a stern look that still has the previous vehemence but the murderous glint is gone.
"I don't know that for a fact but I believe it in my heart. I believe it with all my soul. And as long as I do, there is no chance of me deserting Dai-chan alone in the prison you put him behind. I will be right here, so he knows that even if no one else cares, I still do. If no one else will understand, I will. I will be right here for who you have become, too, because although I hate you and given the chance, I might very well kill you, I don't want you to self-destruct. I think you're amazing and brilliant and truly the best and I wish this would bring you happiness instead of all the bitterness you exude with every fucking breath you take."
She's crying again, yet her gaze has softened.
"I think you're amazing and it hurts that no one understands you but they all want to use you until they no longer need you. So, contrary to them, I will be here the entire time. Without needing anything from you but your presence. I will be next to you, so no matter how lonely you feel at the top, you will never actually be alone. No one deserves that, least of all you."
There is an alluring pull in her heartbroken expression, tears falling silently down her sides as she peers into his face. His hand raises to touch her wet cheek gingerly but when she feels the caress, she slaps his hand away indignantly.
Surprise, confusion and hurt flit through his face in rapid succession at her reaction.
"Don't touch me!" she spits out venomously, her glare heated as she aims it at him. "Don't start pretending like you care just because of the things I said! Because I know you, I know you better than anyone, and I know you don't fucking give a shit about any of this so—"
Her tirade gets cut off when he pulls her into his embrace while she struggles against it with all her might. They wrestle with each other for half a minute during which he tries to take her in his hold and she fights him stubbornly, refusing to stay still so he can properly hug her against him.
He growls in aggravation when she continues resisting. Her strength is something easily overcome for someone of Daiki's build and power. But the fact he's trying to hug her and she's trying to thwart him in it makes even her meagre strength a force to be reckoned with.
To try to make her settle down, he grabs her with both hands by the sides of her face and presses his mouth upon hers.
As far as kisses go, this is definitely not the best one because they're both too angrily huffing and pissed with each other for it to be anything other than a mashing of lips on lips.
It seems to backfire on Daiki because although he's overtaken by the mind-numbing realization of how soft and wonderful her lips feel against his, she doesn't share the sentiment. She yanks her head out of his hold in the next second and slaps him as hard as she can across the face.
She must’ve plucked up all of her strength and loaded the hit with all of her emotion as well because his head turns from the force of it.
"Didn't you hear what I just said?!" She screeches so loudly that he whimpers from her volume, and the sting in his assaulted cheek. "I told you not to touch me! What makes you think you can just kiss me like that!? You cannot, you may not!"
He rubs his cheek, miffed, before he turns to throw her accusatory look.
"You were the one saying "I love you, I love you" just a minute ago!" he barks back.
"I also said that I hate you and your stupid mug. Did you already conveniently forget that or your head is so big you never even heard that part?!"
Daiki snarls then and forgoes the care with which he always, even unconsciously, handles Satsuki with. He forgoes it and makes a sudden grab for her. He holds her by her lower hip and the side of her face with two strong arms, unimpressed with her attempts to free herself from his hold.
She opens her mouth to scream at him again when she fails to shrug him off despite her best attempts. He’s having none of that though, so he covers her mouth firmly with his own to keep her quiet.
Her vocal protests are muffled by his lips and he pushes her bodily back until her back hits the wall. Her flailing hands are caught before they can make contact with his face or torso. Her resistance is futile because this time he doesn't plan to let her go or do as she sees fit.
(She’s said her piece—more than just her two cents in, really—and now it’s his turn.)
His left hand holds both of hers over her head against the wall, while his right holds her chin tight through his bruising kiss. Once she stops violently struggling against him and settles down into smouldering but quiet fury, he relents and pulls away from her.
He doesn't move too far back though, his intense cobalt eyes fixing hers from an intimately close distance. The proximity makes him aware of the teasing way her ample bosom is rising and falling rapidly with her ragged breathing. Her cheeks are flushed—with anger or something else, he ponders—and she is glaring evilly at him from her captive position in his hold.
Daiki throws her an equally unrelenting look full of challenge.
"I heard you well, every single word." He traces the line of her jaw with his fingertips. "I also heard you very clearly say that you love me."
His eyes dare her to refute his statement. She glares back at him but keeps her mouth shut. She's still panting.
Daiki swallows hard while looking into her eyes.
"If you're in love with me, don't you want to hold me and kiss me?"
"No."
Her answer is instant.
Her tone has an air of finality to it that doesn't allow for any argument. She looks so steadfast when she says so that coupled with the unexpectedness of her answer, Daiki feels flabbergasted.
"No?" he echoes incredulously.
"No," Satsuki repeats with the same iron conviction. "I don't want you touching me, or holding me, or kissing me, or anything of the sort."
"Why not?" He demands then, unyielding from holding her wrists up by his much stronger hand.
"I just don't!"
His eyes narrow at her reasoning.
"Give me a good reason and I'll drop it," he challenges her again, his tone even.
She considers his request for a minute before her face twists in a stubborn and angry grimace. Although she looks a bit ridiculous with her face flushed from all the emotions she's gone through in rapid succession in the past minutes and her profuse crying, he can't help himself when he thinks she’s adorable in that very moment.
"I don't have one. Just let go! You're hurting me! God knows you've already done way too much of that to be hurting me physically too!"
The way she lashes out—with words of painful truth aimed at him like daggers—makes him flinch and he almost pulls back. He almost complies with her command to unhand her but reconsiders in the last moment.
He resolves to let her go if she answers his questions first.
"You don't have what? A good reason or any reason?"
"Stop arguing and just let me go, you brute!" she yells at him but it's not as loud as earlier.
He's pressing her harder against the wall, sandwiching her between himself and the hard surface behind. It makes her unable to fill her lungs with enough air to scream at him as effectively as she previously has.
"Answer my question," he whispers against her mouth while pinching her chin securely between his thumb and index finger. Her eyes flash with an emotion he doesn't recognize but it's gone before he can deliberate it. "And I will let you go immediately."
He hopes she can see the promise in his eyes that he will do as he says. His only condition is simple enough, he believes.
After all, she has already spilled her guts and her biggest secret to him, right? What could she possibly have to fear confessing any further?
Her mouth stays clamped shut. She says nothing and just stares at him from up close until her breathing calms. He waits for her and demonstrates patience she thinks him incapable of through it all.
"Well?" He prompts at the end of the third minute of tense silence between them.
"I have nothing further to say to you," she informs him coolly.
There’s a mask of indifference already plastered on her features.
Daiki growls in annoyance, refusing to be brushed off.
Refusing to be treated like this doesn't matter after the heavy shit she's unloaded on him earlier.
He ain't buying it and if she refuses to be civil about it, he will be as crudely provoking as needed to get the result he wants. To get the answer he wants.
Because it’s fucking important, damn it!
So instead of trying to pry it out of her with his words (which he's rather inept with to begin with), he prefers to do it with his actions. He's always been better at acting upon things than talking it out, and an emotionally charged situation like this makes it even more painfully evident.
He kisses her again, pushing into her personal space with no preamble. This time he has the chance to recognize how sweet she smells as well, not just how nice her mouth feels against his.
She starts struggling against him, trying to break out of his kiss but with her hands captive and her chin in his unbudging hold, she has no prayer of being able to break free.
She realizes this quickly and starts trying to protest vocally but he swallows the sound with his mouth opening against hers.
When he pulls away to look into her eyes, she's glaring heatedly at him, her lips wet and swollen from his forceful kisses.
He runs his tongue over his top lip to moisten it too while his gaze fixates on her.
"So you hate this?"
"I hate it! Knock it off!! It's not funny!"
He isn't laughing. This isn't some game to him either, although she doesn't seem to understand that.
"So you hate it…" he echoes, voice subdued.
"Yes!" she wails back at him, thrashing in his hold.
"The same way you hate me?"
"Yes!!"
She gasps after her admission even before she registers the meaningful look Daiki throws her way. She has belatedly realized just what she has affirmed and the implications behind it.
“So in other words, you both hate it and you love it, yeah?”
“No!” She is quick to refuse his statement.
Too quick.
Panicked?
Daiki smirks sadistically down at her. He’s grabbed the pulse of the heart of this matter, he believes.
“Satsuki, you really need to speak up so I can understand, okay?” He looms in her line of vision despite her adamant attempts to turn her head away from him. She can’t go through with it because his fingers are still holding her chin. “You have to give me a good reason why you hate me kissing you, especially if it’s true that you’re in love with me.”
The way he questions the truthfulness of her earlier confession is his attempt to get a rise out of her. He succeeds partially, judging from the way she throws a venomous glare his way, but her lips are still sealed shut.
He scoffs and leans in closer.
His breath fans against her cheek and he derives a sick pleasure from seeing her squirm.
“Answer the question, or I’ll keep kissing you until you do,” he half-threatens, half-states because he’s fully planning on doing exactly that if she continues being stubborn.
Because if she thinks she can be more pig-headed than he is, she’s wrong. He’s ready and willing to show her just how wrong she is if she keeps pushing it.
And it works, because this time she whimpers and struggles even harder to turn her face away from him. He doesn’t let her but she shifts her gaze away to the furthest wall.
“Don’t kiss me anymore. Don’t make this more complicated and painful for me than it already is.” She misses his confused look at her quiet admission because she’s still avoiding him to the best of her ability. “I already wake up every morning and go to bed every night thinking about you and the stupid shit you say and do. Don’t make my life more of a living hell by complicating my feelings further…”
She sounds so forlorn and broken that he can’t keep pressuring her anymore. His hand lets go of her wrists and they slowly fall at her sides. His other hand’s fingers release her jaw and he rests his weight against the palm he leans on the wall next to her head. She is now looking away from him in earnest, refusing to meet his eyes as she continues.
“I don’t want to know what it feels like to kiss you. I don’t want to be wondering if you mean it or if you don’t. I don’t want to be haunted with doubts whether I’m right or I’m not. I don’t want any of it, so please… just stop and leave me alone…”
Her sorrowful tone makes his heart clench in his chest but he shoves the feeling roughly away. It’s important that he communicates this somehow, or he will regret it for the rest of his life.
Especially since he’s already torn so many painful confessions from her today.
There’s a twinge of regret in the corner of his consciousness—amplified by the way she seems to try to fold in on herself before his very eyes. He soothes it by caressing the crown of her head like he’s petting something fragile and infinitely precious. He caresses her tenderly, willing some of the discomfort and pain away from her being, if he can, by the simple action alone.
“Satsuki,” he starts quietly, his tone calm and kind. “It’s true that you do know me very well—there are many days when I’m sure you probably know me better than I know myself. And in many ways, that could be true. But there are still some things about me that you don’t know and because you don’t, you misunderstand.”
The way she skittishly starts to lift her magenta gaze to lock with his is heart wrenching to watch but he leaves her to do as she pleases while still petting her head adoringly.
“I don’t blame you. If I were you, I’d probably misunderstand, too, because my timing was terrible and I act before I think as always. But I really don’t want you thinking that I’m kissing you just to shut you up or something dumb like that. Because that’s just my excuse and not my reason why.”
Her eyes are widening and her breathing has hitched in her throat already. Her lips are parting—in surprise or horror, it’s hard to tell—and he cannot continue to study her reaction any further. His heart is racing in his chest.
He’s nervous and his body is reacting to the feeling more violently because of their earlier verbal standoff. It feels like his blood vessels will burst from the sheer volume and strength with which his heart is pumping.
“This isn’t a joke nor a game to me either. It’s insulting that—knowing me as well as you do—you would think so.” He takes a deep breath because suddenly the air has vacated his lungs and he feels like he’s drowning in white noise. “These important things about me you don’t know—I’ll tell you the most important of them right now: I would never kiss you to prank you or just to win a stupid argument.”
He admires her courage in being able to say it to his face but he doesn’t have it himself.
So Daiki leans forward until his lips are aligned with her ear, and his face is twisted out of her sight.
“Because I like you, too. I’ve been in love with you for a long, long time.”
He whispers it like it’s a secret and condemns Satsuki with a heavy heart.
It is his most well-kept secret because she’s been convinced that he doesn’t care, that she’s wrong, he’s just an arrogant, unfeeling asshole and her Dai-chan is gone forever. Her unrequited pining is pointless, but will eventually—maybe, with time—fall into the background of her inner world and she will be able to finally, finally, move on to something, someone, else.
Less painful, less complicated, less dramatic.
Satsuki knows breaking free from the shackles that are her feelings for him is but a pipe dream now, with his last little confession to her.
There’s no way in any world she will be able to move on to anything—or anybody—else, knowing her feelings are not one-sided.
Knowing that he does things with intention. Knowing that he does care and is just… terrible at showing it.
Daiki’s intermittent warm breath at her earlobe draws her attention to the present time and moment from her reverie. She swallows heavily, her gaze rising to the ceiling of his room. She kicks herself mentally, over and over, for relishing the feeling of having him so close and the knowledge that he’s in love with her, too.
Oh, God, no… she thinks to herself and the tears well in her eyes anew. Love is supposed to be something that makes you happy, brings you joy, but she’s never had any joy in her love.
It’s always been her silly secret, a temporary crush. Then it became a complicated matter, not to breathe a word of to anybody. Then it evolved into something painful, until it turned just outright excruciating. It has been a downward spiral and her heart is so heavy, realizing that it’s only going to continue further from there on.
And it will likely only get worse, a downhill steep slope.
Because she can’t be the one to save him. She can’t be the one to heal him. He’s the one damaging himself but he needs someone from outside to help him out. It kills her that this person cannot be her, even though she’s right there, always there for him, always.
Her tears start running down her sides. When his thumb brushes them away from her cheeks with the most gentle touch she’s ever received from him, a violent sob tears from her throat.
“I really, really hate you, Daiki,” she tells him through her clenched teeth.
He pulls away from her to give her a slanted smile that gives his gaze a kind glint.
She doesn’t use the childhood nickname she has for him anymore—at first by trying to distance herself from him in school by calling him “Aomine-kun” anywhere their classmates can hear her, but calling him Dai-chan in private.
Ever since he starts changing for the worse, she stops calling him that even if it’s just the two of them.
She uses no address to turn to him—other than derogatives like “idiot”, “dumbass” or “moron” but those don’t count. If she has something to say to him, she just establishes visual contact with him first then says what she wants, if they’re in private. Maybe she thinks he doesn’t notice and he’s dense—and he is, generally speaking. But when it comes to her and the way she treats him, Daiki notices things.
And it just hurts, to lose something that has been a given for him, so suddenly and so completely, with no ado and no warning.
He’s no longer Dai-chan, he’s not Daiki, he’s no longer anything to her and it hurts.
So at least when they are among others, he takes the “Aomine-kun” in stride because at least, at least then, she acknowledges his existence and turns to him by name.
For the past two years, he has almost never, ever been “Daiki” to her. She called him that earlier in the height of their fight and he didn’t have the chance to appreciate it but he does notice it. Like he notices every single little thing about her.
Hearing his name from her—despite the venomous claim it’s accompanied by—sends a shiver down his spine that he rather relishes.
The next kiss he initiates is a loud echo of his secret he’s shared with her, because it’s so much sweeter than any of the previous ones they exchanged throughout their mulishly stubborn argument.
It’s a repeat of the “I love you, Satsuki” that he’s too himself to vocalize more than once in his life. She hears it, loud and clear, in the gentle press of his lips against hers, in the tender touch of his tongue on hers.
It rends her heart asunder because she’s already in the palm of his hand, even without him saying or doing anything. Now she will never be able to escape him, but worse still - she will never even try anymore.
Whether that’s a good or bad thing, Satsuki still doesn’t know.
What she does know is that she is a heavy heart to carry and her beloved will be weighed down by it—although, admittedly, he has only himself to thank for that.
He’s condemned them both to suffering and licking at each other’s wounds for the time being, but it’s a sweet kind of torture that she is willing to submit herself to despite her sanity being in jeopardy over it.
That’s perfectly fine for him, though.
She will learn in due time that even outside of the court, Daiki is strong enough to stand, with both his heart and hers in hand.
He will patiently, diligently, teach her that when he holds her in his arms, he will never let her down and her heavy feet will never touch the ground.
A/N: Did you find all the lyrics references I sprinkled throughout the story for all the parts of the song that inspired this piece?( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I struggled for quite a while with setting up the whole thing in the beginning BEFORE the start of their argument, and also finishing the damn thing. I struggled and struggled and then turned to the actual song on the next day again and, what would you know, I’m actually kinda proud of this now.
Gonna cross-post this everywhere so you can FEEL ME BEING BACK.
This has been yours truly, showing you how she believes song fics should best be done. Hope you enjoyed.
Note
Can I ask headcanons (or scenario) for an overnight stay GoM, Kuroko and Kagami (not individually, together) at their female best friend house?
I can only imagine the chaos and shenanigans that ensue…
GOM + Kagami and Kuroko having a sleepover at Reader’s house
Absolute chaos
You weren’t sure why your house was designated as the one for the sleepover
It would have made more sense to have gone over to Akashi’s place just because he has more space
So it was weird seeing all the members in your house
Feat. your mother who’s squealing over all of the hot guys that you’ve got
And your younger (and still innocent) sister asking “onee-chan, is this what they call a harem”
“Where did you learn that?!?!?”
Also feat. your father who’s lurking in the background threateningly
You manage to convince your family to let all of you stay downstairs in the basement
With the promise that Akashi would be guarding you
Your family knew him because of your position as Rakuzan’s manager, so they felt ok with leaving you in his care
But really, you knew that while these guys were idiots, they were harmless
And just like any other high-schoolers having a sleepover
One of the topics thats brought up for discussion is love and relationships
On one hand, you’ve got the duo that’s pretty eager to chime in about their preferences (Aomine and Kise)
You’ve got the ones that don’t seem to care much about the topic (Murasakibara and Kuroko)
The one who is emotionally constipated (Midorima)
You really can’t get a read on Akashi since he’s just…presiding over the discussion like a mediator
And then you’ve got the one person that’s just hungry and is asking for food/snacks (Kagami)
Speaking of snacks, Murasakibara has literally dumped what seems like a small mountain of snacks on the ground, and he was making his way through it in an alarmingly rapid pace
As the night goes on, it feels more and more like you’re trying to look after a bunch of children
Aomine and Kise are fighting, over something stupid that you can’t really understand
Midorima is being…Midorima
Kuroko is eating vanilla ice cream
Eventually you decide to put on a movie so everyone can settle down and be quiet for a bit
But that causes another fight over what movie to watch
Half the group wants to watch a horror movie-which you were NOT going to allow
Especially when you remind people of The Incident that occurred last time
A Disney marathon seems to be the least likely to cause issues so you get that started
You and Kise sing along to all the songs in the movie while getting Kuroko to take videos of the two of you
Midorima’s somehow gotten into an argument with Kagami about horoscopes and fortunes which you had Murasakibara break up by physically getting in between the two of them
Aomine’s digging through your bookshelf looking for any dirty mags
But instead stumbles across your stash of BL doujins and freaks out
And just like children, eventually they tire themselves out
And at the end of the night, you’re tucking them in before turning out the lights
There’s something heartwarming to see everyone hanging out together, so even with all the chaos that occurred, you think that it wasn’t so bad...and maybe, just maybe-they’d be able to convince you to have them over again
Kuroko no Basket Headcanons: Generation of Miracles (+ select few) as Classical Pieces
I Know I am six years too late, but the quarantine opened my viewpoint to this great anime. And I have looked, so far I haven’t came across this particular type of HC for KnB yet. So enjoy:
Kuroko Tetsuya: Gnossienne no 1 by Erik Satie
Tumblr media
Gnossiene no 1 by Erik Satie is quite paradoxical in nature. It is supposed to be “dance-like” in movement, but it is so minimalistic that in it’s movement it almost sounds creepy. If it’s left at the background, no one will hardly notice that a music is being played--as if, it’s a trail of a faint perfume which is remarkable when the first whiff is taken but you immediately forget how was the smell. It’s like Kuroko:  he is invisible and has no presence at all, but as he starts to get noticed you see his unique abilities. This piece is very new and experimental, which also can indicate it’s similarity with Kuroko’s misdirection as a passing technique: unique and invisible.
Kise Ryota: Symphony no 4 “Italian”: Allegro Vivace by Felix Mendelssohn
Tumblr media
Bright and Vivacious, Mendelssohn’s “Italian” screams extroversion, positiveness and brilliance. It is also the creation of the Romantic Age: that signify love for the fellow human and nature. Something Kise radiates as he enters the screen. Kise is famous for his modelling career, therefore he must be called “well liked face” and “overrated” a few times, which also goes well with this piece because, this particular piece of “Allegro Vivace” is one of the most common and overplayed Classical piece. Mendelssohn was also known for he remarkable “Beethoven-like style”--and what is Kise famous for? “Perfect Copy”.
Aomine Daiki: Caprice 24 by Niccolo Paganini
Tumblr media
One of the Hardest classical pieces of all time, Niccolo Paganini’s Caprice 24 tests the mettle of a violin player. Passionate, rule-breaking, free flowing, this Caprice is very much the essence of Daiki Aomine’s style of basketball playing. It is said that Niccolo Paganini originated many Violin techniques, which never existed before and god knows no one could figure out how Aomine does the “Formless Shots”.The portrayal of “Aomine Daiki” as the “Big Bad” in the season one can be associated with the enigma and mystrey Paganini’s reputation carried: The Devil’s Violinist.
Murasakibara Atsushi:  Also sprach Zarathustra, Op.30 - Einleitung by Richard Strauss
Tumblr media
This Classical piece is perhaps the most iconic piece of all times. Whenever something is hinted to be grand and imposing this piece is used, so there was no better music than this to highlight Murasakibara’s herculean presence in the court. It is intimidating, imposing and gets bigger and bigger as the time progresses until is overpowers the listners: a style which Musrasakibara applies when he plays the Center in the court.
Midorima Shintarou: No 40 in G Minor : Molto Allegro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Tumblr media
Mozart belongs to the 18th century, an age known as Age of Rationality, control of emotions, satire and court music. Technically Mozart is in the Baroque age, which is known for it’s extravagance and indulgence in music and art with heavy dependency on God. Midorima’s motto is “God Proposes Man Disposes” and he is heavily dependent in Horoscope. Despite that, Midorima is calculated and rational: a paradox of a character. The no 40 of Mozart is considered as one of his “mathematically symmetrical pieces”--Midorima is obsessed in perfection, and doing everything so obsessively perfect that there was nothing better to describe him than this piece.
Akashi Seijuro: Erlkonig by  Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst
Tumblr media
Erlkonig is a poem by Goethe that describes the journey of father and son on horseback through the forest where the Elf King tries to disillusion the boy and finally kills him. This poem was first transcribed into an aria (song) by Schubert and then into a grand caprice of Violin by Ernst. The caprice has two voice: the piano part, the vocals, both played on violin at the same time, which not only is difficult but nearly impossible. The caprice which forces the violinist to play everything is also very Akashi-sh in nature: “he is at his best when he is not depending on his team” or rather “he becomes the team” in the Rakuzan vs Seirin Match. Apart from that, the storyline of Erlkonig highlights the inner struggle of Akashi and Bokushi, which is very much the struggle of the Boy and the illusive Elf King, a terror the boy is trying to escape. This piece not only depicts Akashi’s impossible qualities but also the terrifying influence of his father and the inner conflict he has within himself.
Takao Kazunari: Overture: Die Fladermaus by Johann Strauss II
Tumblr media
Die Fladermause or The Revenge of the Bat is a comic Operetta by Johann Strauss II. It is about a gentleman who fooled his best friend. They visited a "fancy-dress"-party and this friend was dressed up as a bat. This operetta is about his revenge - The revenge of the FLEDERMAUS. the entire operatta is a huge troll, like Takao: when everyone, including his teammate is super serious, he lightens everything and laughs. He wheels around Midorima and is expected to play the fool like the lead character of the Operatta. However his keen and malicious intent comes at the court, sneaking behind his humorous personality where the “revenge” part of the comic opera can highlight.
Kagami Taiga: Symphony no 7 by Ludvig Van Beethoven
Tumblr media
The “Symphony no 7” is called the “nameless symphony” by Beethoven. This is brilliant for Kagami because at the beginning of the series he is an unknown player in the time where “Generation of Miracles” dominate the space, he is even termed as “the Miracle who didn’t get to be the Miracle”. Regardless to his anonymity, he comes with a bang and grows as a person and a player, like the Symphony itself: the ensemble of the instrument makes the sound bigger and bigger after the “start with a bang”--which also shows Kagami’s effort to grow with his team, which sets him apart from the miracles. In the symphony no 7, even the smallest sounds of the winds contribute to the dynamics of the symphony, which highlights how much Kagami acknowledges Kuroko and the benchwarmers.
under the stars (akashi seijuro) pt1
Note: This can be read as a one shot, but will have a few more parts to develop a relationship!
Mental fatigue washed over me and I had the sudden urge to leave the party. Thinking I could overcome the mental block, I continued dancing and attempted to relax my muscles, but doing so only stiffened them more. The air was dense in my lungs and a force pressed against my chest from the inside. A large pit opened in my stomach.
I had to leave.
I instinctively told my friends I was going to the bathroom but the only thing on my mind was the comfort and solitude of my own bedroom. So instead, I walked out the front door, sent my friends a quick text and called for an Uber home. I felt guilty for leaving so soon, and not even having a proper excuse to leave but I just needed to be alone.
Once I got home, I kicked off my heels and splayed on the couch. Deciding for some fresh air, I stuck on thick warm socks and opened the window of the fire escape to climb up to the roof. The roof was an open space for everyone in the apartment complex and a few years ago, our neighbours were nice enough to decorate the open-roofed gazebo on it with couches and fairy lights. When I was younger, most of our neighbours would throw frequent gatherings and barbecues. But since then, most had moved out and not many newcomers knew about it, which luckily made the roof a mostly empty spot—especially in the winter.
Flicking a switch, lights lit up the gazebo and illuminated the brightly coloured couches. I laid down on one of them and stared up at the black, white-freckled sky between the wide wooden squares at the top of the gazebo. Taking a deep breath, I took in the warm feeling of isolation and drifted into my thoughts.
Foot-steps on the roof startled me and I instantly looked up to see who it was. Red-pinkish hair peaked from the shadows and I sighed. Of course my time alone would be short-lived. At least I was now entirely eased, and one person wasn't anything I couldn't handle.
"What are you doing up here?" I asked Akashi. It was nearly midnight. He'd never been up here so late.
He sat down on the opposite couch. "I could ask you the same." Crossing his legs, he opened the book in his hands and rested it on his knee.
I liked Akashi. Not in a romantic way or anything, but I liked him because he was quiet. Better yet, his silence never made me feel awkward. If anyone else had come up on the roof in the dead of the night, I would leave before any small talk could occur. Surprisingly, even small talk with Akashi (if it ever happened) was tolerable—comfortable, even. His monotone voice sounded careless but it put me at ease, feeling like I don't have any obligation to let the conversation continue. I was more than okay with letting silence overtake it.
He read as I continued to stare at the stars, thinking about everything. My thoughts played over like background noise as I focused on one point in the sky.
"How was the party?" I suddenly heard him ask as he flipped a page.
"Awful. I left after thirty minutes," An airplane flew by the star I was staring at. I turned my head to look at him. "Wait, how'd you know I went to one? Stalker."
"I was invited too, dummy." His voice was as monotone as always and it made his insult much more comical.
"Oh, right." I chuckled back at the sky.
I'd forgotten he was also friends with the host, Kise. Actually, he was probably well acquainted with everyone there. Known to be direct but kind, Akashi: captain of Rakuzan's basketball team. To me, he was just the nice quiet guy who sometimes needed his downtime. Perhaps it was because whenever we spoke it would mostly be on the roof late in the evening and I'd never see him play or boss anyone around.
"Why didn't you go?" I asked.
"Late practice," He flipped another page. "Why'd you leave so early?"
"I just felt like staying at home instead." I sighed, not bothering to go into the depths of my introversion and having my social capacity surpassing its limits.
We sat in silence for what felt like a few minutes until I heard the small thump of his book closing. Turning to wish him a goodnight, he surprisingly stayed seated, his legs now uncrossed. His bright maroon eyes met mine.
"Do you have a sewing kit?"
I squinted my eyes in confusion. "Yes...why?"
He leant forward and placed his elbows on his knees. "I ripped my basketball shorts and I have a game tomorrow. Can I use it?"
I sighed back to the view of the sky, basking it's large comforting embrace. "Sure. Let me fetch it."
When I came back with the sewing kit, Akashi was nowhere to be seen. I thought about calling out his name but didn't want to risk waking anyone up. A figure with red hair on the opposite fire escape suddenly appeared, basketball shorts in hand.
I placed the kit onto the table and reclined into the couch again as Akashi settled down to sew. I didn't realise I was observing him until I witnessed him fiddle with a needle and thread for about a minute. Allowing a giggle to surpass my lips, I stood and held my hands out to him. He sighed as the corners of his lips curled up slightly, eventually passing me the needle and thread.
Sinking into the seat next to him, I quickly looped the thread through and snatched the ripped shorts on his lap to begin sewing.
He placed a warm hand over mine and bunched the shorts in his other. My heart leaped at the sudden contact.
"I can do it."
I pulled away, lifting the needle and shorts away from him. "It's okay—you've never done this before, have you?" Deciding not to press further, he crossed his legs again to continue reading as I stitched away. "So...what's in it for me?" I teased.
He laughed dryly. "You're the one who insisted to sew it."
"You did ask for the kit though."
"Touché. I didn't peg you as the bargaining type."
"Well we don't know each other very well, Akashi," I hummed. "Do you mind if I play music?"
I glanced at him and his eyes were still glued to the page as he shook his head.
Soft songs played quietly from my phone on the coffee table between us. One of my favourites, Try Again by Jaehyun began playing. I hummed along, harmonising with the tune. A low hum startled me and my head snapped to Akashi.
"You know this song?"
"When I had a driver, she would choose the songs. She liked playing soft music like this."
He had a driver? I was surprised but it wasn't actually all that surprising. Everyone knew he was well off. And he did say he moved out for more independence.
"Done!" I held out the shorts in front of me, proud of my work. It only took two songs.
"Thank you. I owe you one." He smiled at me with his eyes.
A feeling arose in my stomach again, but this time, instead of a pit, it felt like it had completely flipped upside-down. I'd seen him smile before but this smile was gentle—and cute.
I tossed back the shorts to his lap and smiled back before quickly turning away. "Yeah, you do."
Slumping back into the backrest, I closed my eyes and listened to the next soft song. I felt Akashi lean back next to me, the smell of sweat mixed with a doubtlessly expensive cologne wafting by.
"You need to shower." I blurted.
"I know," He sighed. "I trained all afternoon into the night."
"You know," I opened an eye to peak at him. He was staring up at the sky. "I've never seen you play before. I hear you're pretty good."
His head turned to look at me. "Why don't you come to the game tomorrow? We're rematching against Seirin."
Seirin. The team I heard he lost to last year in the Winter Cup. Before that, Akashi had the title of being undefeated, being absolute.
"Ah, just to watch you lose? I'm good." I closed my eyes again.
"We'll win." He said it with such certainty. Such confidence. I didn't have to look at him to know he was being absolutely serious and believed in his own words.
"I'd like to see that confidence on the court. Maybe I will come."
"I'm counting on it." He said sarcastically.
I suppressed a smile, unwilling to admit that I was excited to see him play.
