I'm only going to say this once so it's clear.

Iron Fist is Danny Rand's story.

Just like Daredevil is about Matt Murdock.

Jessica Jones is about Jessica herself.

Luke Cage is about Luke.

And The Punisher is about Frank Castle.

These shows aren't about 'ships' or 'supporting players'. And none of these heroes/protagonists are perfect. None.

Trying to erase the main ticular character out of their own series/story (Because you dislike them and the actor playing them for narrow minded reasons) in order to justify your bias towards a favorite character is just wrong. And frankly I'm getting sick of seeing hate posts like this in the Danny tag.

G - Do you remember your first otp?Honestly, no?? But if I have to guess, it was probably Percabeth because the Percy Jackson series was one of the first fandoms I was really into.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all?

1) Well I posted a headcanon in my other blog about how Ward Meachum eats the brown m&ms that Danny and Joy don’t.

2) Clint has definitely met Daredevil in a dumpster at some point.

3) Clint and Natasha can lift Thor’s hammer and you can fight me on that but you will lose.

4) Sharon Carter is an intriguing character and is badass — OH WAIT. This isn’t a headcanon because it’s actually canon :)

Frank Castle was born on November 15th in the Hell’s Kitchen district of New York. According to him, his parents were too old when they had him and consequently had difficulties to control him and his unruly ways.  When Castle was just eighteen, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he had eventually met and was then placed under the command of Major Ray Schoonover. Having never held a gun before, Castle was trained by Schoonover himself on how to effectively use a firearm in a military situation.  Lieutenant Castle would later take part in the Battle of Fallujah as well as other combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, eventually earning the title of Scout Sniper, and was inducted into the ranks of the Marine Corps Force Recon, undertaking classified missions behind enemy lines.

It was during this time, while on leave, he met Maria.  The two quickly hit it off and - three months later - when Maria informed him she was pregnant with their first child, Frank proposed and they got married.  Despite the advice and opinions of their friends, the two began a new life together.

By the time Frank’s unit was deployed on Operation Cerberus, he and Maria were a well-established family with two children.  Force Recon platoon was assigned to a new task force under the supervision of Major Schoonover and an anonymous civilian commander known to the men only as Agent Orange.  Castle sat with Russo and listened as Orange and Schoonover explained they were now part of an operation tasked to capture and assassinate enemy targets. Though Castle questioned if Congress had approved this new op, Orange insisted they had.  Among the targets that were captured by Cerberus Squad included a man named Ahmad Zubair, a member of the Afghan Police who - unbeknownst to Castle and his platoon - was working with Homeland Security agent Dinah Madani and had uncovered some of the illegal actions of Operation Cerberus. Castle killed Zubair without questioning Orange’s orders. The act, like many he undertook in the op, would later come back to haunt him when, years later, Cerberus Squad would decide to have Castle killed, believing him to have leaked this information. Maria, Frank Jr., and Lisa Castle were killed in the crossfire.

Having barely survived the shootout himself, Castle chased down those he was led to believe were responsible, wreaking havoc across Hell’s Kitchen. His path caught the attention of Matt Murdock, who would become his defense attorney during The People v. Frank Castle, while ultimately - as Daredevil - seeking to stop his path of vengeance.

With seemingly all the gangs destroyed who had been involved with the terrible Central Park Massacre, Castle believed that his family had finally been avenged once and for all. Believing that he no longer had a war to fight for, Castle then gave up the mantle of the Punisher, symbolically burning his bulletproof vest as he considering every single person he had killed to avenge the mindless death of his family. He lived life simply for a time, working in construction, until a mysterious stranger calling himself Micro contacted him, informing him that all was not what he thought it to be.

≡ CURRENTLY

After uncovering Agent Orange’s plot against him and the betrayal of his friend Billy Russo with Micro’s assistance, Frank was rewarded by having his records expunged. He is currently laying low in New York City, attending Curtis Hoyle’s veteran support group and seemingly leaving his persona of The Punisher behind him.

Buckle up, my guys. For all of you who don’t want to deal with 15 hours of Danny Rand, here’s what you missed in Iron Fist that’s relevant during The Defenders. Obviously, spoilers to follow. 

Danny Rand is a kid from a filthy rich family that owns a filthy rich company. When he was ten, Madame Gao arranged for their private plane to crash, which it did in the Himalayas. Both Danny’s parents died, and Danny got taken in by some monks from the mystical city of K’un-Lun. 

K’un-Lun is only accessible once every like ten years or so. The entrance is guarded by the Iron Fist, a dude with a glowing fist. Danny beats up a dragon to become the Iron Fist, but then he leaves to go back to New York. When he tries to return to K’un-Lun at the end of Iron Fist, it’s to find the city destroyed and everyone presumably dead. He thinks it’s his fault since he wasn’t there to guard the entrance, which, it sort of was, but whatever. 

The original goal of the Iron Fist was to fight The Hand, an evil organization we met in Daredevil. Apparently they’re immortal-- they used to be part of K’un-Lun, but got exiled. Danny, who has been living with the monks and isn’t up to date on social niceties, won’t shut up about searching for the Hand (or being the Iron Fist in general.) The kid doesn’t have a secretive bone in his body. 

The Iron Fist is summoned by “chi”. I’m still not clear on what this means, but the result is that he can only use it for a certain amount of time and has to have a certain amount of chill to recharge it. For plot convenience, this means he can’t use it sometimes, because otherwise it would be boring. 

Colleen Wing is a marshal arts instructor who owns a dojo. She and Danny get together. Then it’s revealed that she’s a member of the Hand-- but she thought that she was from a good branch doing good things and thus isn’t evil. Turns out that her sensei, Bakuto, is evil. They fight, and Colleen kills him. Colleen is very good with a katana and should be loved and respected. 

Colleen teaches Claire Temple self-defense. Claire ends up being a part of their squad and goes with them to China to try and track down Gao. 

A lot more stuff happens, mostly involving his company and his childhood friends and his friends’ dad who the Hand brings back from the dead,  but it isn’t relevant to the Defenders.

Finn Jones Defense Squad #1

Veo tanto odio hacia Finn Jones por ser Iron Fist en esta red social.

Y cada uno puede tener su opinión respecto a él y al personaje que interpreta. Pero no podemos hablar de que Danny Rand debería haber sido asiático, cuando en los cómics se ve que es rubio, americano. Casualmente de eso se trataban los cómics, del chico rico americano que aprende de humildad y otros valores. Es el camino del héroe bien marcado, pero no voy a eso.

A lo que voy es a que sí, hay mucho que criticarle a la serie. Quizás el plot en sí, lo que gusten. Pero Finn Jones no fue mal elegido para el papel. Le dieron un guión y él puso lo mejor de sí en interpretar el papel. Tampoco es razón para odiarlo tanto, como veo por acá.

Además: Se quejan de que Danny debería ser asiático. Pero nadie dice nada de Colleen Wing siendo asiática cuando debería ser pelirroja. ¿Acaso eso no es "whitewashing" ? Es más criticable que un actor rubio interpretando a un persona que es RUBIO y que desde 1974 es rubio.

Otros Iron Fist sí han sido asiáticos, yep, pero no Danny.

Nada, quería decirlo. Todos hablaban, yo también quería dejar mi opinión.
