Purpose?

Not enough horror-themed fanworks in the world about the Superfam. Got jealous of the Batfandom having all these horror-themed events and projects, so I decided to host one for the Superfam.

Why should we participate in this?

Because you like seeing the soupeyfam in ever-increasingly fucked up situations that elicit a deeply-rooted, ancient dread :3

So how does it work?

The release date for fanworks is from Monday, the 8th of January through Sunday, the 14th of January, 2024.

This aint a Halloween-themed event! You have well over three months to write, draw, and create fanworks. However, use the spooky season to help generate some ideas and propel you forward! :3

This an opportunity for people who’d like to explore the Superfamily characters, dynamics, and relationships through a variety of prompts. Although romantic ships are nice, please make sure the Superfam are the focus of your fanwork.

Superfamily characters of ANY comic book universe are acceptable. If you want to spend the entire fanweek exploring Ultraman and Injustice!Superman because you love drama, then be my guest! If you want Ultraman to kidnap Lois this time instead of Jon, go for it!! Let that imagination run WILD!!!

Darkfic, horrorfic, genre-specific work, and other both safe and not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell tropes are welcome. Just make sure that you post any Mature content on a landing page that doesn't restrict Mature content (like AO3). I don’t want anyone getting their blog banned. We cannot defeat our capitalist overlords, but we can definitely work around them.

This fanweek will not have a dedicated blog. These prompts are free for anyone to use. Because it is a non-traditional, non-monetized, and free-to-opt-in casual event, there will be no mods but moi, no advertising of paid services, and no ratings or participant restrictions. I will open a collection on AO3 in January for anyone who wants their work collated for this event.

In order to ensure that both creators and the audience are making informed decisions about what they engage with, all creators are encouraged to include triggers, ships, and any other squick warnings.

Please utilize the read-more function for fanworks that are longer than 250 words. We're tryna read yer stories, not get spammed with a wall of text. Please Be Courteous.

And last but not least - if you are engaging with any of the fanworks, reblog, reblog, reblog! Share the work with your followers. Send all the love to the creators for crafting their masterpieces!!

What can I contribute?

Fanart (standalones, comic strips, etc.), fanfiction (one-shots, multichapter, etc.), fanmixes, gifsets, graphics, meme collections, fanvids, whatever your heart desires! Go wild!!!

Can I create/write not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell content?

Yes!!! All creators are encouraged to include triggers warnings, sub-genre specifications, ships, and other warnings in their posts. I will not discourage you from writing your 16k Kara-goes-evil fic, but please... Be Courteous and tag your fanworks appropriately so people can make an informed decision on what they're comfortable with viewing.

What does (X) prompt mean?

Each day has two prompts!! You can either pick a prompt OR you can combine prompts in different ways. Let your imagination take you where you want to go with each prompt!! If you want to explore both in the same fanwork, then be my guest!!

Mainstream Canon, Elsewords, and AU content is acceptable! Just make sure to stay within the comicsverse. Creativity is key! Have fun!!!

Can I crackship/multiship/harem/OT3/polyam the characters?

Absolutely!!! Just please remember that this is the Soupeyfam horror week, not the Lois-Has-A-Harem-of-Elseworlds-Supermen week. We love ships and things, but this week is about the Superfamily. The characters can have their lovers, but their personal romantic dalliances shouldn't overtake the Soupeyfam dynamics (unless you're pulling a Cersei and Jaime, lmao, if that's the case, go wild).

Does this have a tag?

During release week, use the general “superfam” tag to share your work with the wider Superfam fandom on tunglr. You can use whatever other tags you fancy. The best way to share, however, is to directly @ me so that I may reblog it.

TL;DR: Over three months until the fanweek!!! For all fanwork creators out there, now’s the time to start thinking about what prompts you want to utilize for your creations. There are no creative restrictions, but I do ask that you follow these posting tips:

All fanfiction should be under a read-more.

Not-safe-for-tunglr fanwork should be LINKED to whatever landing site the content is being hosted on (Twitter, AO3, etc). This includes both fanfiction and fanart. I don’t want your blog getting flagged bc tunglr hates gay people.

Provide content warnings for all triggers, squicks, and sub-genres. Unfortunately, in my ten odd years away from DC Comics, the fandom's seen a resurgence in puritanical behavior and tons of censorship and self-censorship. Please list content warnings on your work but do not be discouraged in sharing your work. If a fancop gets on your ass, block them. Please block as MANY as you can. They're like pests, they're always gonna be there, but their influence can be diminished by staunch blocking and reporting.

You can participate as much as you want!! Maybe you only wanna create for one day? Cool! Maybe you’re an overachieving corporate clown insomniac like myself, and wanna create for every day of the week? Go for it!!!

The most important thing is to have fun :)

Truth be told, this event is entirely selfish. I personally love to the horror genre, and would love to see the characters in the Superfamily get more canon content as seen through beloved horror tropes. Unfortunately, Status Quo often gets in the way, and the current fanworks are largely ambivalent to the Dreadful and Despairing. If you'd like to join me in creating deliciously dark fiction featuring our favorite DC clan, please do! I would love to read your 10k character study of Otho and Osul assimilating into human society after spending their formative years as slaves in Warworld.

We’re over three months away from release week, so take your time, look through the prompts, and get your creative juices flowing! I will be sending out reminders until the go-live date.

But now, Aziraphale had assured Crowley, things were different. They no longer needed to hide, but Aziraphale would go as slow as Crowley needed him to. It was almost funny how their roles had switched after the apocalypse.

Oh hi! The ask is getting more and more interesting. My favorite list will contain more writers than artists. Because first I can't write. Secondly it was the fanfictions that brought me to this ship (I didn't know Meronia was a thing when I first read the manga. I am sorry I was blind lol). In the past I was more active in fanfiction.net and deviantArt but now all of creators there are inactive so my list will be active ones from AO3 and Tumblr :3

1/ @madmeridian she has a huge library dedicated for Meronia in various different and creative AUs. I really hate their fates in the canon manga so it is nice to see them have a happy life in other AUs. The writing is soft and delicate =v= I even like her angst and pregnant fics (2 things I also dislike for my ship lol) - well... kind of bookmarked all of her works *blush* I am really looking forward to her comeback =v= 2025 eh?

2/ @empressofthewind beside from her fics (which I kind of bookmarked almost her entirely library ehem), her analyses are also exceptionally fun to read xDD (love her sense of humor) every ask is answered with deep and thoughtful long-ass essay, which shows both her respect to the fans and her love for the ship!

3/ @neallo I hold another level of respect for this creator, not only for her writing contribution for the ship, but also her effort to grow the community bigger. To me she is a silent heroin who not only does her role well but also goes beyond and supports/encourages other writers/artists/hobbyists so that they carry on with the ship and always gives off a positive and inspirational vibe. Thank you big girl. You are queen of creator <3<3<3

4/ @m1chael-langd0n Near is kinda OOC in their fics (which normally I also dislike for my favorite characters) but the writing is so good that I turn to like them xDDD (and even open a whole new fantasy world inside my head which has kept me entertained for several weeks now). I hope they will finish their fics some day soon <3 bless you and your daughter <3

5/ To be honest Meronia fanarts are very modest compared to my other fandoms. But thankfully I've found this artist's pivix and Tumblr accounts so I am kinda content now =v= @user-null love their style <3

I actually wanted to ask if you could explain SAGAU to me and like who we are in SAGAU fanfictions/posts. I read so many fanfics with it but I still don’t understand it 😭

general normal SAGAU:

in this AU the game characters sees us, the player, as their creator and the creator of Teyvat. and due to that belief they have cults, temples, statues dedicated to us. every characters worship us but their worship levels are all different.

like in most SAGAU fics, Zhongli is the most devout follower because he is the oldest character we know of while other characters such as Scaramouche, La Signora and Dottore are generally seen more chill type of worshippers.

also almost in every SAGAU AU’s, the reader has golden blood to prove their divinity or to prove they are from another world.

SAGAU imposter AU:

in this AU fic, we are still the creator however there is another being who has descended to Teyvat first before us who also happens to have the same face as us but not our Divine aura and powers.

in most imposter AU’s, Teyvat helps the reader because Teyvat is sentient and recognizes us as the real Creator. whether or not we recover our divine godly powers, get killed or not depends on the authors of fics. almost 90% of the time, the fics end with the reader getting executed.

however in some imposter AU’s, the reader truly is the imposter. in some fics, the reader gets hunted until the Creator puts a stop to the hunt and decides to help us.

guide SAGAU:

this is more smaller known branch of SAGAU AU.

@sagau-fruit-bowl ‘s guide AU series is one that is very popular.

in guide SAGAU AU’s, the reader is seen as an another god from another universe who decided to help Teyvat and the game characters.

in this AU, the real Creator is mostly written as cruel, unkind and tyrannical. and that’s why the game characters and Teyvat prefers the reader as their God and worships the reader.

there are many other AU’s from other author’s and their own beautiful, amazing ideas but these 3 are the more common known ones.

Hey Lex, this might be annoying AF, but I was wondering if you could tell me more about the Corpse AU.

I haven't been around the Phandom for all that long, but I do have a general idea what its about.

I want to write a fic that incorporates this AU but I don't really know what is accepted and what is not.

If you dont mind, I'd love to know more about it.

if by 'annoying' u mean you're freely giving me permission to ramble about an AU i love and dedicated an entire Invisobang fic to....THEN ANNOY AWAY!

The Corpse AU is a fairly simple concept actually. It states that when halfa's half-die, they leave a body behind.

That's...pretty much the only rule to the AU.

Now, people's interpretations of this can vary widely. I'll touch over some I've seen as well as my own personal headcanons and headcanons I've stolen from others (*cough* @five-rivers *cough*).

Corpse AU fics usually follow 1 of 2 plotlines: 1. Danny needs to dispose of his body 2. Oh no! Someone found his body!

One of the most popular interpretations, and one you'll see most in fanfiction, is that Danny and Vlad "disposed" of their bodies themselves. Danny's usually shown to bury his corpse in the woods somewhere, sometimes with Sam/Tuck and sometimes just by himself. Usually people don't reveal what Vlad did with his, but it can be assumed he probably did something similar.

In the cases of fics where someone uncovered his body, another popular headcanon is that halfas have a special connection to their corpses and can sense disturbances. When their corpses are uncovered (aka usually just Danny's because he's less careful than Vlad and also we love tormenting our child!), then they will be called to their corpse and will either teleport above it or will immediately fly over to it.

This ^ is actually something I personally headcanon and was featured in my fic Morge. When the police uncovered the body, Phantom appeared and was very pissed off!

The protection they feel around their corpse depending on the creator's interpretation as well. For some people, they hc Danny as viewing his corpse like a nuisance and and stressor. For others, they hc halfas as feeling very protective over their corpse. I've even seen a fic go so far as to have Danny hide his corpse in his closet because he couldn't bear to part from it. So the level of emotions they have is somewhat varied, though I will say that most angstry writers tend to err on the side of "they feel protective."

Another thing you'll see sometimes in fics like mine or Five Rivers' is wtf is in that corpse. The way some people—myself included—interpret this is that ectoplasm replaced half the contents in halfa's living bodies, so the corpse is comprised of half their human mass. Many writers, such as myself, also throw in some ecto-contamination. So for me, I personally like to hc Danny's corpse as half human matter and half ectoplasm, aka equal but opposite of Danny. But not everyone hc's this, so it's something you may see in writing but you may not necessarily want to bring into your own fic and that's totally fine!

Day 1 (July 23rd): Lazy Days

Gyro and Donald are both busy people with stressful lives. They deserve to take it easy and relax! So this day is for making these two have a lazy day! There are many silly and laid-back ways they could spend their day off together.

Optional QOTD: How do you think Donald and Gyro first met and become friends, then eventual partners?

Day 2 (July 24th): Conflict

The phrase "bickering like an old married couple" is so true for these two. Not to mention, Gyro and Donald are different from each other in many ways. From petty squabbling to a more serious disagreement, this is the day to introduce a bit of conflict to their relationship.

Day 3 (July 25th): Boats

Donald Duck: a sailor, a former Navy officer, and, well, a duck! By design he has an affinity for water and boats. He might not be a sailor in every iteration, but he's wearing the uniform. Add Gyro into the mix and you've got two birds at sea... or maybe in a houseboat.

Day 4 (July 26th): Invention Gone Wrong

Gyro Gearloose: a quirky inventor full of enthusiasm and a history of inventions going wrong. Perhaps he wanted to surprise Donald with an invention, but it has unintended effects. Maybe he can't quite work out a problem. Perhaps Donald is the one trying inventing out...

Day 5 (July 27th): Family

Family is important to both Gyro and Donald. Both love their respective nephews and Gyro is accepted as one of the Ducks. On this day, the focus is on Gyro, Donald, and their families.

Day 6 (July 28th): AU

To those of you who like to remix Donro, this is for you! Create something related to an alternate universe Donald and Gyro. It can be an existing AU or a brand new AU. If you aren't interested in AUs, this can be a free day-- a what-if scene that never happened in the comics or cartoons, Donald and Gyro as different animals, or whatever else you can think of!

Optional QOTD: Gyro and Donald from the comics and DuckTales are different. If you are used to the comics, what interests you about DuckTales Donro? If you are more used to the DuckTales cartoons, what interests you about comics Donro?

Day 7 (July 29th): Gift Day!

To end this event with a bang, this day is a little different. Rather than follow a prompt, instead create a Donro piece as a gift for another user! You could make a piece dedicated to your mutuals, create something inspired by fanfiction or fanart, do donro requests for this day, or do an art trade. It's up to you! Choose a friend, a stranger, or someone you admire in the donro community and create something special for them.

Have I sent this to you yet? Anyways I have this Miraculous Ladybug AU. Or would a better term be an Alternate Timeline? Or perhaps a rewrite.

Basically the changes start at the Season 5 finale. Cat Noir breaks out of jail to help Ladybug fight Monarch.He finds out that Monarch is his dad, Gabriel Agreste. He gets mad. So mad that he impulsively makes a wish - "I WISH I HAD A BETTER DAD!!"

Immediately afterwards, he thinks to himself, "...I fucked up. I should apologize to Marinette."

Anyways here's what happens next:

(I never drew Adren before - forgive me if he looks a bit like a wet cat. Although, it kinda fits...)

(Also fun fact - that bandanna he's wearing is a gift from his dad - his new dad. The sweater is because Paris is cold. (And dry.))

OH MY GOSH, I LOVE THAT ASDKJHFKJSFD

I have to be honest, my favorite things related to Miraculous Ladybug are things that are completely non-canon or work against canon, considering that canon just keeps going on and on and on, so most fanfictions are like, things that "finish" the story like identity reveals or "let's fix Adrien's life".

Also, very specific, but I am a SUCKER for characters with bandanas in their character designs (see Randall Ascot--although you can argue that it's. Well. Um. An Ascot LOL)

Also yes he is/can be a wet cat at times, so it's very fitting KHFDKDFG...is the last name because of Xavier or someone else 👀👀?

I imagine if this did happen in canon, there'd probably be an entire episode dedicated to undoing the wish/timeline 😔 I'd really love to see Adrien get to blow up at Gabriel way more or just move on from Gabriel in his life. I know that won't happen (especially because the creator of MLB is an asshole who doesn't think that Gabriel is abusive...?? How do you write an abusive father and say they're not abusive????) but God. I wish. It's part of why I love fics where Adrien is close with Marinette's parents

Well then. I will just share my favourite around here among the ones that are still actively posting content, and in no particular order.

-@susann-noir and @mogruith. Their virtual photography of Unity is truly among the best ones around here. Each time a new photo is posted, I reblog it automatically because it's just SO BEAUTIFUL. And Susie's oil painting of Paris Landscapes are amazing, I could print them all and put them up my wall if I could.

-@rumor-imbris the way she writes poetry dedicated to Ratonhnhaké:ton is something else entirely. She paints emotions with words and I am in awe each time I read one of her poems. Plus, she has a full-on finished fanfic between Ratonhnhaké:ton and Mary, her Original Character, and I highly recommend it.

-@straight-into-the-animus if you want beautiful fanfic about French Fryes (or beautiful AC fanfic in general), Ani here is THE ONE. I had the good fortune of reading all his writings, and let me tell you: I am always always ALWAYS looking forward for the next idea he might come up with.

@tkwritesdumbassassins She is a gem to be preserved because she is doing THE GODS WORK by giving us all the delicious Federico content that Ubi decided to negate us. Canon is a bitch, but TK just beat that shit and wrote one of the most engaging story out there with Federico and her Original Character Tristan. Seriously, that's quality writing right there.

-@brasideios The amount of good fictions set in Ancient Greece with Brasidas and Alexios as protagonist is just top notch. You can see the amount of hours of research and effort that went into each fanfic, and the absolute love for both the characters and the setting. Braisideios truly one of my favourite author around here, and their sideblog, @theforgottenjenn is filled with beautiful VP of AC Odyssey.

-@thatcrazycrowgirl if you want to truly feel the cuddles from Jacob and Arno, my buddy here is the one to go to. She writes the most ADORABLE JacobxReader and ArnoxReader, and honestly, she is one of the reasons I fell all over the heels for Jacob. She truly writes him like no other.

-@kiatheinsomniac has an ENORMOUS collection of fanfiction, AUs, Headcanons and mixed ideas that are truly well written and are ABSOLUTELY a must-read. I highly recommend all that she has written in regard to Ezio, that's truly PERFEZIONE right there. I truly love the way she writes him.

-@sassenach-on-the-rocks Ms. Sassenach here is another reason why I was snatched by the fandom and by Mr. Dorian. She writes Arno magnificently, and I personally spent my early days in the fandom just going through her whole master list because I couldn't get enough of reading all the good Arno content (and the rest of the Assassins too, tbh, but when I went through the master list, I was mainly fixating for Arno at the time)

-@estel-of-the-eyri her fanfiction, "Breaking Mind-Forged Manacles", is truly one of the best JacobxOC fanfiction out there. The amount of research and study that she did in order to write this story, the way the plot develops connecting the present and future is just chef's kiss (won't say much more because I don't want to spoil anything).

-@evievfrye if you want top quality gif-sets for the Assassins, this is the account to follow. The quality of the gifs is just so insanely good and almost "crisp", if it makes any sense, and they are just a joy to see on the dash!

@ramshackledtrickster The talent they have is BEYOND insane. BEYOND. Going through their dash is a feast for the eyes, both in terms of quality (we are seriously talking about Pro Level here, I am not even exaggerating) and in terms of content. Like, their codextober alone is something that is worthy of printing and having on a wall. I highly, Highly recommend.

@stealingpotatoes I definitely love their style. It's peculiar but so intriguing and dare I say adorable too? And the humor, especially when concerning the Frye family is just everything. I also love the way they interpreted the Frye Kids. Definitely worth following.

And these are the people off the top of my head that I mostly see on my dash. But there are a huge amount of great content creators out there :)

There’s parasocial behavior, then, there’s the 225 (yes, I am serious with that number) highly sexual and deeply intimate RPF about Alexander J. Newall and Ben Meredith. 190 of these are by the same person and it’s not just RPF, it’s an RPF universe with a foundational timeline that divests out into AUs that chronologically follows the events of the actual Rusty Quill company and its….. unsettling. Like, the pets are characters, real life events are speculated on, sexuality and gender is assumed and played with (which is beyond inappropriate as it will inevitably create needless speculation or worse, accidentally out someone). I didn’t expect someone to create a story where Alex, everyone’s boss, is dating his own employees, a situation amongst content creators that has recently had huge consequences (Ned from Try Guys for starters). Even just a rumor starting that a creator is with his employees romantically is career ending. There’s even the insinuation in the tags of an inc*st storyline, which, I haven’t researched, but damn wtf.

Please let these people live their lives in peace, they are private, everyday people. It’s making someone a character in your fantasy of their own real life. It’s especially unfair when a bulk majority of the situations are sexualizing close, platonic relationships and innocuous or friendly interactions amongst folks who are friends AND real life family (like blood relations are in the relationship tags, shit is too far).

Also, I don’t think the author is like evil or malicious, I think they have major boundary issues and need to reevaluate their relationship with the content they consume, genuinely. I like Rusty Quill as much as the next nerd and I truly hope the best for the creators, but I also think there’s a line between fandom jokes about Alex needing a nap and dedicating literal years of content to a fanfiction about his fake romantic and sexual exploits.

Also also, I’m not gonna link it. I’m just, haunted by this entire creation and have been contemplating our relationship with internet creators. It’s kinda sad in a way, I feel like behavior such as this stems from a really deep sense of loneliness or disconnectedness.

Also also also, I found it because I clicked on the wrong Jonathan Sims tag on A03 and my eyes fucking jumped out of my skull when the top relationship combo was Jonny/Ben/Tim and frankly, that’s when I knew I went somewhere God never wanted me.

Today's the second day of Choices Spread Kindness Celebration hosted by the amazing @lovealexhunt and it's time to show some appreciation to the talented people who share their incredible fanfictions with the fandom.

Knowing how much work and love you guys put on everything you do, I'm coming out of hiatus for a bit to hype and praise some of the lovely and talented writers still active in the fandom 💞

I'll be sharing masterlists of a few of my favorites today, and you all should go check the celebration page at @choicesfandomappreciation and find out how you can spread love and kindness too and support the writers whose fics you enjoy. 💞

@aallotarenunelma - not only they are a talented writer but truly kind and supportive. Here you can find their MASTERLIST. I have enjoyed all the fics I've read, but my favorite fic of theirs is the Blades's AU The Red String of Light. So beautifully written!

@jerzwriter - you can find their MASTERLIST here. I recently started reading their Wake the Dead fics and Accidental Friendship was a fun read and a great start. All the work on promoting and supporting content creators in the fandom through @choicesficwriterscreations and all the fun events they host are something I'm truly grateful for as a reader and as a writer. 💖

@julia-highstorms - you can find this super talented writer's MASTERLIST here. I love the Wake the Dead fics and the way Eli is portrayed, but my all time favorite from their Masterlist is a Tyril x MC that still lives rent free in my mind because it's so fun and funny and well-written: Bedmates. Totally recommend you check this one out ☺️

@lilyoffandoms - their beautifully written fics can be found in their MASTERLIST. This lovely and talented writer has fics from so many Choices books and pairings, and I enjoyed everything I read from their Masterlist, but Tyril x Maiele are my favorite pairing and Stars beautiful and poetic lines live rent free in my mind. 💖

@lizzybeth1986 - this writer has some of my all time favorite fics in the Choices fandom and you can find their MASTERLIST here. Everything is amazingly well-written and the themes and characters are wonderfully developed either be the friendship fics (Music Room is the most perfect scene portraying Hana and Prince Liam's friendship and this is the missing scene from TRR book 1 we deserved ❤️), the way they portray Hana Lee and her culture so respectfully and all the love and care we can see in every chapter of Eleanor's Kitchen , which is my favorite series from their fics.

@lorirwritesfanfic - my dear friend Lori is one of the most talented and generous people I had the pleasure to meet in the fandom; here's her MASTERLIST where you can found all the fics to the several books and pairings she writes for. Her fics deal with a variety of topics with care and I'm always amazed by how much she researches and how well-developed are her characters, and I love all her Desire and Decorum AUs. I can't pick only one, but Meant to Be holds a special place in my heart and Heaven Sent Company was the first fics from her that I stumbled on and I've lost count how many times I've read.

@noesapphic - this talented storyteller and creator of fierce OCs and amazing female characters has written for various Choices books, and you can find her fics in the MASTERLIST. I love all her Desire and Decorum AUs, and I appreciate the opportunity to join and befriend Noe through our collab in The cursed heiress, but For Love and Duty is my favorite now and shows how much passion and research she dedicates to her fics.

@princess-geek - another supertalented friend of mine that not only is a superb storyteller, but a generous and supportive friend, who's always uplifting others. You can find all her fics in the MASTERLIST. Even though, Unspoken Desires is amazing and I'm always excited for every new chapter, Finding my way to you will forever hold my heart and is my favorite from all of her fics for obvious reasons.

@storyofmychoices - what to even say about this positive force that has not written some of the most amazing FICS around, but hosts so many events to spread kindness around the fandom? You can find her FICS in their extensive MASTERLIST. From all I've read from her work, and the amazing pairings she writes for like Mal x Daenarya and her lovely Bryce fics, my favorites might be her domestic FICS for Moty and how she writes Levi and Lily ❤️ I remember enjoying so much Let it be and how the emotions were so well-written!
