Title: A Favor for a Life

Summary: Death pops up before Puss one day and informs him that he is going to die soon unless the reaper himself intervenes. Which he is willing to do, for a price. Just a simple favor, he says.

This was how Puss found himself telling the physical manifestation of Karma (along with a slew of other anthropomorphised concepts he didn’t even know had corporeal forms) that he, The Puss in Boots, was indeed courting Death.

I’ve seen a few people talk about the importance of the axe, but I wanted to put my take on it out there too.

Lisa watched her mom get axe murdered, and then her life was uprooted. She had nobody there for her (except taffy but she was misguided). And this person comes along, one who knows her better than anyone, and uses an axe to kill someone right in front of her.

Only this time, the axe is used to protect her. Something that destroyed her entire life is now being wielded by the one person she’s beginning to trust and feel seen and heard by.

And I don’t think it’s wrong for her to be thrilled and morbidly infatuated by this!!! Reclaiming and healing from trauma isn’t always pretty like everyone wants it to be, especially for young women and girls.

The axe becomes something to protect her and get revenge on those who hurt her. People who were supposed to be good to her, that she THOUGHT were good to her, but betrayed her.

The axe is something that she now wields.

She gets to reclaim it. She gets to trust someone again. She gets to feel loved, seen, and heard.

This movie is about reclaiming trauma as much as it is about a zombie love story!!!

A sharp intake of breath, the dull thump of something heavy colliding unexpectedly.

“Dad!” Jason cries, calling upon every single drama class he’s ever had, “Please… please- it’s almost to zero- please, I’m sorry, please, please, it hurts so much-“

Bruce breaks.

“Jason, Jason, hold on Jaylad, hold on, I will find-“

Jason smashes the phone against the marble dress of the creepy angel standing guard over his grave. The pieces vanish into the wet grass, like an occult offering eaten by Gotham’s soil.

Then Jason turns and walks away with a gleeful little smile.

But not without flipping the stupid angel off one last time.

I just love the idea of pre-tadpoled Durge being so intense and repressed- their real emotions can only be implied between gritted teeth. And post lobotomy they come back unable to keep their thoughts to themselves, particularly around Gortash, giving him all these nice touches and compliments they couldn’t before, just admitting how they really think because they can’t remember to be embarrassed.

Durge: We were in love, weren’t we?

Gortash: …erm

Durge: Oh shit, we didn’t say it out loud?

Yes,its setted in the cartoon universe and somehow catnap knows about the fact that they are in an cartoon, and he knowing this fact,that gives him certain...powers over THIS tape in specific.

He is stuck into an single episode loop forever,so he will find a way to make new advetures to keep the universe of this tape in specific keep going and keep his mind sane without caring about...uhh keep the OTHER critters's mind sane in result...

im gonna be honest, half if not more of "shadow is mischaracterized here" moments he's not mischaracterized, y'all just didn't have good shadow content since 2006 and built up a false idea of him in your heads, so once he was back in media more y'all had the time to think your brains' fanfiction version of him was real. as someone who watched like all the media in the better part of half a year i literally saw no difference and then saw people yelling about it online.

I promise I will shut about this after tonight but Phil absolutely deserved it and even though I know in my bones he’s got a bright career ahead of him and will get his Emmy one day, I so wanted him to win for playing Jamie. That character has meant so much to me across three seasons now and that’s all thanks to what an amazing job Phil did with him. He deserves the recognition so much and has for a long time now and I am very sad he missed out yet again in what feels like a long line of justtt coming up short. Anyway. Winner in my heart ❤️
