IK in Marvel you're nuts for shipping a gay couple unless it's confirmed without a shadow of a doubt onscreen (which is a horrible precedent I think was set when they said Stucky were just friends because let's be real if all that can add up to welp just friends then how can any ship with less than that possibly be legit, right) bUT all that being said the Lokius energy? great. I'm not going to pat Marvel on the back and say this is enough, but I am going to say that for them setting the same-sex heavily-implied love interest next to the opposite-sex are-we-going-to-pretend-this-never-happened love interest and making it unclear if Loki was speaking to one (or both) of them was a pretty big stride forward. They might be coming out of the era of the big neon no-homo, because the Marvel that's been so homophobic in recent years would never have left that door open for considering, would have made sure Mobius was far offscreen when that happened, would have made Sylvie the only important relationship Loki had in the season, would not have put in all the little moments (I direct you to the Don episode: the hair-fixing by Loki, the way Mobius kinda flirts with him the whole time, the way Loki is drawn to Mobius' timeline more than anyone else's, the way the camera focuses on Mobius so close to when Loki is having his "WHO" epiphany, etc.; not to mention the ways they reach out to each other throughout the season, just a little intimate touch here and there, a hand on an arm, an arm around a waist; the fact that when Loki timeslipped back he looked to where Mobius was first, the way he went to Mobius for advice when he was completely out of options, the way he and Mobius trust each other to use torture boxes and help decide the fate of the multiverse, the way they, together, were a focal point of the season, that they were a unit of two, that they were so loath to be separated). In media as a whole, is this big? Not really. For Marvel specifically, in its own little pocket context? Big step. Immense. I really want to believe maybe they're opening the door for us and we just jam our foot in the gap hard enough they'll get the message that we're a fanbase to be reckoned with and that maybe they do want to spend the effort on us after all. I love Marvel. It was an important part of my childhood and I keep watching it now even though it's kind of a mixed bag. I want to be a part of it. I want the Lokius fanbase and the Sambucky fanbase to win where the Stucky fanbase was shut down. Those little moments were intentional and beautiful and I'm incredibly happy they exist. I want them to lead to something more.

When Mobius didn’t go to the bar, he’d stay home, streaming movies all night. This week, he felt inclined to explore the rom-coms.

As he watched on: the witty banter, the loving looks, the subtle caresses, it dawned on him…

Mobius needed popcorn. And M&Ms.

He mixed the two together and ate the combination while he watched on.

Elsewhere, Loki watched his reactions to the movie’s jokes. Every time Mobius grinned ear to ear, every thoughtful head-tilt, every hearty laugh.

The ending approached. The characters hadn’t seen each other in so long. It was pouring rain and yet the lead characters were in a trance. They confessed their love and embraced.

Mobius paused the film and sat up on his couch. Loki too sat up on his throne. It had dawned on Mobius.

“Am I… Am I in love?” Mobius chuckled. “I’m in love with Loki.” he whispered but the god of stories heard him loud and clear.

It took everything in Loki to not let go of the branches.

Loki and Mobius, though far from each other, smiled widely, & just as quickly, their smiles faded & their frowns formed.

Outside, the rain began to pour.

How is this for the opening of an essay about lokius being canon:

Loki would not be the same way he is if not for Mobius. Mobius gave him a second chance, and in return, Loki gave him the truth. It is an objective fact that they are each other's person, even just platonically. Mobius is the only person, besides his mother, that Loki has ever cared for, and given that this is Avengers Loki, that’s a pretty hard role to get. On top of everything else, there is so much proof that they could be love interests, being borderline on confirmation that they canonically are. Additionally, the cast, workers, and other sources including the show itself, give too much evidence for this to not be true.

Some more Lokius headcanons I had in my back pocket!

They enjoy discussing theoretical situations with each other and always end up bickering over their viewpoints. (Loki’s usually the one to bring these topics up) This especially happens whenever they sit down for their usual key lime pie. Because Loki can't stand silence, there has to be something going on or his brain gets bored. so he starts these debates to fill the silence. (Also because he enjoys riling up Mobius)

Adding onto this, they both always think they're right and neither will admit when they're wrong when it comes to these silly debates. Usually, it ends with them slowly getting closer to each other until one of them decides to shut the other up with a kiss. (This doesn't always end the debate because Loki will usually say "I'm still right" as soon as the kiss is over)

Loki enjoys doing things like painting his nails and occasionally wearing makeup. (Loki mainly wears black or dark green nail polish but isn't opposed to doing other colors once in a while) Loki has also managed to get Mobius to let him paint his nails, Mobius thought it felt weird wearing it but overall was pretty neutral on the idea. (He absolutely loves it when Loki wears it tho because he thinks he looks hot)

Ever since Mobius got Loki into sweets, Loki has just developed the worst sweet tooth ever and Mobius is scared that he has created a monster with how much Loki eats candy/desserts. It seems she always manages to have a stash nearby with how often she'll appear with a piece of candy in hand. (They always offer Mobius some)

Loki loves his life at the tva but he does still get homesick every now and then. Usually, when he's feeling like this he'll hop down onto the timeline to keep up with how Thor is doing, tho they never actually manage to work up talking to him they'll just watch from out of sight.

Mobius can always tell when loki is homesick even if he tries to hide it. And he knows he goes to visit his brother. But he never asks Loki about it. Never even asks if he's tried speaking to him. Because Mobius knows if Loki wants to talk about it then she will. In the meantime whenever Mobius can tell he's feeling homesick, Mobius will be a lot gentler with Loki and try to find ways to subtly comfort them.

I find it very upsetting how marvel has given loki a person(MOBIUS.) To love and trust and to help him learn what itslike to be loved and then they were just like "wouldnt it be funny if we made that very important person forget loki, TWICE." it may not seem like a big deal but loki has literally changed DRASTICALLY in the span of ,maybe a week? 2 weeks? He went from a cautious, mischievous, kind of villain to a vulnerable, confused god???(i suck at explaining things) what in trying to say is marvel has given loki a taste of love and trust and respect and has ripped it away TWICE, and when mobius was pruned then later sphagettified?!?!?!?!??! If I had a nickel for every time I had a ship where there were rumors and theories about one person in the pair being the other person’s PARENT through some weird time travel shenanigans that don’t make any sense logically BUT it was never confirmed or even brought up in canon BUT STILL there are a enough (tiny, minuscule, almost non existent) bits and pieces to make me nervous, I would have two nickels.

Here's some thoughts on Loki S2E2 after my third viewing.

It's very interesting because comparing to Season 1 where the show literally explains everything to you, in season 2 it feels like you're solving these puzzles with Loki and Mobius as it goes.

I'm such a Mobius stan and took whatever Brad did personally lmao.

First of all, him pretending to enjoy the idea of living freely as B15 suggested and got the audacity to probe Mobius + B15 about their double standards, calling Loki a villain & calling them nobody! Doing all that so Dox can pruned all the branched timeline. I like how this episode is really about Brad even his name is in the title but we're slowly revealing more about Mobius already.

Maybe they've found Revonna and has already joined force with her and is doing an stalling inception game where the big terror is going to come?

I can already feel the angst of how Mobius' past is going to be so good that it's going to destroy him. And really secretly hoping that they don't end up winning a.k.a releasing the sacred timeline just so this version of family can stay together for a bit longer *cries* I love them too much please don't break Mobius and Lokis away!!!
