#mha 348
Note
I love your translation posts, they give great context to some moments! I’ve seen chapter 348 translated with Toga’s confession as almost being narrated by Bakugou but I’ve also seen it translated as a more generic voice. Is there a correct version?
This is a complicated question, so let me put it this way: while there is less uncertainty in Japanese about who is narrating 348, that doesn't mean there is no uncertainty. In general, I think English audiences are responding with much more scrutiny to something that is not particularly notable in Japanese manga.
We don't have a lot of information about the narrator that refers to Izuku in the third-person. "Midoriya Izuku" is not how Izuku narrated the story when his internal voice was dominant, he always used first-person pronouns to tell "the story of how I became the greatest hero."
In the series, there are inner monologues that convey what the characters are thinking in the moment, and then there is "framing narration." Framing narration positions the story in the past tense, implying a future person is relaying this event with more knowledge about its conclusion than the audience has.
Inner monologues have distinct clarity both in visual cues (who is on-screen) and how they speak.
Tumblr media
Ochako's inner monologue during 321 is indisputably Ochako; the opening words are placed over her image, and the Japanese audience is already familiar with the fact that Ochako calls Izuku "Deku-kun" and uses the personal pronoun watashi (私), so when she says "we," it's watashitachi (私たち), pluralizing her own pronoun. If this were Shouto's monologue, we would have had Midoriya and orera (俺ら) or oretachi (俺たち) instead. The audience would have understood the distinction, although the visual cue centering Ochako would feel a little odd, like Shouto is looking to her while thinking this.
Framing narration, of course, has little-to-no visual cuing, so we have to rely on speech patterns, and thus end up with subjective interpretation and predictions.
Tumblr media
348's framing narrator uses kare (彼) to refer to Izuku as he. This is not a pronoun we have ever seen Katsuki use for him. Katsuki exclusively refers to Izuku in the third-person with aitsu or soitsu (あいつ or そいつ), both of which mean "that guy" in a rude way consistent with his typical speech pattern.
There is the possibility that the audience is supposed to be surprised by the use of "shitty nerd" following the pronoun kare, because the two contradict each other, and "shitty nerd" is put at the end of the sentence like a zinger. This might imply that, sometime in the future, Katsuki starts using kare for Izuku, and that really would be a shocking change, because it is extremely polite and non-confrontational compared to how he normally talks. I don't think that is what is going on, though, for the following reasons:
In manga, framing devices are not always explained or particularly thought of as noteworthy. Some series use a framing device at the beginning, and then completely abandon it by the end. Some series have very inconsistent framing devices, sometimes due to the intense workload of weekly chapter output and sometimes because the author just wants it that way, and they use the inconsistency as a way to be poetic, develop story themes, or conveniently convey information.
English language media, especially in recent years, has much more strict rules and expectations about framing devices. I don't think Japanese audiences are as concerned about who this narrator is because the expectations are different.
That said, from both a writing standpoint and the experience of the audience, Katsuki's words being brought up in the middle of a love confession is not meaningless. The literal identity of the narrator may not be that important in the end, but what the narrator conveys is absolutely still important.
There are a lot of ways you can interpret Katsuki's words being brought up here, but it is undeniably intentional. If he wanted the "nerd" meaning without connecting it to Katsuki, Horikoshi could have just called Izuku an otaku, since that term carries an implication of "indifferent or ignorant to human relationships" in Japan. If this were just about how oblivious Izuku is, he could have said that Izuku 空気を読めない (kuuki wo yomenai, can't read the room).
But he chose the words Katsuki alone uses for Izuku--words that were historically derogatory but, as their relationship has improved, could almost be read as friendly or affectionate.
I personally feel like it is foreshadowing, but we'll have to see how it shakes out!

Pika!! Could you pretty please translate the part in 348 where Deku talks about what a boyfriend is? I wanna see if he refers to ‘a boyfriend’ or ‘being a boyfriend’ basically🙏🙏
It’s not clearly singular or plural, and he’s really just speaking like he’s defining the word in question. I’ll translate the pages (but I sure hope you don’t regret this).

MHA 362 SPOILERS
I'm currently trying to be open-minded about either outcome, could Bakugou live or die? We don't know and I hope the next chapter will be a banger, however, there is something I saw another theorist bring up on Twitter.
Remember in Chapter 348, there is a narration line referencing Izuku as a "damned nerd"? We know only one person says that, especially in reference to his rival Midoriya.
We know MHA has a future narration, I doubt Izuku would refer to that to himself or at least with how bluntly the quote is written.
I don't want to give hopes up, please be open-minded about either outcome until the next chapter.
But if we don't get at least an explanation on that part, I will be super confused about this part-

some people might have pointed this before when it came out but since I just have read the jp raws, I decided that it’ll be nice to point it out again!
and it’s about MHA chapter 403! especially this particular panel!
Tumblr media
to begin with, I have a little knowledge about kanjis in japanese language since I’m still learning them but this particular line really really intrigued me.
which is this japanese line and its english translation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when I first studied japanese, the common knowledge that I know was feelings, or thoughts translates to 思い in japanese, not 想い. that’s why it intrigued me. what does 想い mean? basically, it has the same meaning as 思い— feelings, or thoughts, which is why the direct translation was “feelings.”
however, that’s not the case in japanese language.
we know that different kanjis yet same word means different in japanese. for example: if it's hayai 早い, it means “early,” and if it's hayai 速い, it means “fast.” both having the same hiragana, はやい yet different meaning in different contexts.
so after researching (link), I found out that 想い is much more personal than the norm 思い. its much more deeper in the sense of “feelings” for someone special.
Tumblr media
which is why we can conclude that during this panel of katsuki being revived, looking at izuku and izuku locking eyes with katsuki, “their feelings become one” is much deeper sense that only the two of them would know because it is something that only the two of them had shared.
Tumblr media
time stopped. raindrops stopped falling. just them looking at each other. they are sharing the same heart and mind. (izuku implicitly telling toga that his idea of love is sharing the same heart and mind on chapter 348). and finally, their feelings become one.

Toga Himiko - To want a savior
When we think of Himiko, we often come to the conclusion that she is a girl of tragedy. Someone who has repeatedly been rejected by the society around her, and turning her into a “real villain”.
But have we stopped to think that Toga has already chosen to be saved? Let’s talk: the mind and choices to Himiko.
What is a hero?
Now, I’ve kinda talked about being a hero a lot. But I wanna ask the question, what does being a hero mean to Himiko?
Lets go back to our first introduction to Toga, why did she join the league?
Horikoshi often describes Stain as a “dark hero” or vigilante over an actual villain, making Himiko’s inspiration feel out of place (im not completely sure on this, I think he did? If I’m wrong sorry!! Working off of a vague memory I read of an interview). Stain has always had a motive, and that motive is to rid the world of “bad” and “corrupt” heroes. In stains belief system, a Hero is someone who is willing to sacrifice everything for the safety of others. Things like monetary pay or an egocentric Justice, things that Iida or Ochako have as reasons to be heroes at the beginning of mha, are villainess things in his mind. (Stain also questions the ideas and boundaries of what “true villainy” is because, to be honest, it’s a pretty relative term. It depends on your morals and ethics over anything else, and that kinda gets muddled and fuzzy the bigger the group. Also, are villains and criminals different? Like aoyama?)
So what does this mean for Himiko? Well, we don’t really know. We’re working off scraps, a vague idea of “being free”. Maybe she believes that fulfilling stains ideas will somehow bring this freedom, because she will only be around “true heroes”.
What we do know, is that she sees Izuku’s sacrifices with his beat up body, and Ochako’s impressive tenacity and empathy for others, and she adores it. She LOVES THAT SHIT. Of course, she could also just be attracted to Dekus blood or Ochakos life, but I think it’s more than that. Other than age, there’s no one in the league or general villains (that we know of) that she has developed these admirations or crushes on. She loves the league, but she certainly doesn’t admire them.
But she does admire Ochako and Izuku.
She “chose” two hero students specifically. Two students that have repeatedly proven themselves for their heroics. They are the ideal heroes in Stains eyes, because they repeatedly sacrifice.
Because Toga Himiko, would like to have someone who would sacrifice for her.
Do you want kill me too?
Himiko doesn’t hate heroes. She never has. Heroes have never been considered to her as a direct issue. Everyone else in the league was somehow done wrong by a hero, one way or another. Usually, this wrongness is then taken in as a vulnerability for someone else (like afo) to nurture into a festering hatred. Shigaraki and Dabi both experienced this, and spinner simply followed in Shigaraki’s footsteps after the (poorly written) fantasy racism that he experienced. (I refuse to just say racism, because it’s not at all an accurate portrayal of how racism works and it will continue to NEVER BE an accurate portrayal. Ever. I want to make that clear)
Himiko, however, has had an indirect grooming to some extent. This puts her in an interesting place of vulnerability; one that afo exploits and Ochako ignores.
Going all the way back to 289, this chapter encompasses two things: Himiko’s crush and Himiko’s hope.
Tumblr media
Her crush, not understanding of what she’s saying or asking, is obviously confused by this inadvertent confession. Ochako doesn’t realize until 348’s “unrequited love” chapter what this whole scene meant to Himiko.
Tumblr media
Because, not only is this her direct confession, but an inadvertent call for saving. Of course, Himiko’s idea of being saved by Ochako, and Ochako’s idea of saving Himiko, would be very contradictory.
But it’s still there.
This is Ochako’s chance.
And she BLEW IT!
Tumblr media
And god, she knew it. She knows that’s what this is, that’s what this realization was.
Because Ochako is supposed to be the hero that makes other people smile, not to be the one smiling.
Tumblr media
Her thinking of Himiko during her speech? That was Ochako realizing her call for help.
Tumblr media
Thinking of Himiko after her confession to Izuku? She realized that it was, not only a call for help directed at Izuku, but that her previous interaction was a confession.
The real Himiko Toga
So, that begs the question hero, who is the real Himiko Toga?
Tumblr media
I don’t think this is about not loving someone. Himiko does love people, she only wanted to “become” Jin when she desperately needed to be. Because Jin loved Shigaraki and Dabi, Jin loved Toga Himiko.
And that’s something that she can’t do right now. She can’t love shigaraki, she can’t love afo, she can’t even love dabi, the man who gifted her that vile of blood. She can’t even love herself because of it.
That is, if love is the only factor here.
She can still love Dabi or Shigaraki, she can still admire afo, but that doesn’t mean she admires their hatred or loves their destruction. Jin loved people, he loved the life he built in the league. Himiko admired that happiness, she loved and cared for him. Thats why she can use his quirk but no one else’s.
What if, she needs to both love and admire someone? What if she never loved Izuku, but admired his heroics, like Ochako?
The scene that ochako thinks of here is actually Himiko calling out Ochako directly on loving someone.
Tumblr media
This is about their shared crush, but was that crush ever real? Did it ever even matter? Is it just about their first interaction, Ochako’s obsessive rumination over this one interaction? Is this a callback to “ever since I met you, I just couldn’t stop thinking about you”?
What if it’s all of those things? It’s not so far fetched to believe that Ochako needs to use her thoughts, her love, and her admiration to save Himiko.
Because this is Ochako and Himiko’s acceptance of their crushes, heartbreaks, and admirations. Admiration and love get so muddled over time. There is a difference, especially when that admiration only holds you back, like in Ochako’s case, like in Himiko’s case. But they’re still apart of the same concepts.
Himiko’s love also isn’t just romantic, it’s familial or platonic. She’s rough around the edges, but the Himiko that went to Ochako to see if she would be saved is still there. And that’s why she’s not letting her go anymore.
Tumblr media
Because Himiko Toga, the real one, still wants to be saved.

I genuinely can't tell what's different about my two fics. Maybe because the popularity and the demand for BG3 right now. My first fic is a UFO for MHA, 5 chapters and 16k words. It has 26 kudos and 348 hits. Posted the most recent chapter like 7 months ago.
My BG3 piece from last night is by no means even close to my best work (I'd consider myself an average writer, but I only did one edit pass compared to the 5 that the MHA fic has had). It's almost entirely dialogue and just...y'know eh.
It's 6.6k, the longest single chapter I've ever written. It's been up for maybe 12 hours and it has 19 kudos! It has 223 hits! Those numbers are insane. If it continues the way it's going, it'll surpass my MHA piece in 24 hours.
Idk thank y'all for checking it out. I'm really excited. I hope to clean it up when I'm done with classes today.
+ Not only that but it's about my OC! I mean it's mostly about Astarion through my OC's eyes but isn't that so crazy? This character I made and love with my whole heart is being seen by other people! How unique. How lovely to experience that.

So, I'm catching up on the MHA manga where the anime left off.
I'm on 349 now with about 45 chapters to go.
I need to buckle up for whatever the war arc has in store. The first two arcs (Star & Stripe, U.A. Traitor) were already emotionally gripping. I have been spoiled on some things, such as the identity of the traitor, but I'm still looking forward to see what goes down.
Read on for potential spoilers, though nothing overly spoiler-y.
Deku and Ochaco's chat before the final war arc was so touching. It was sweet when they both called the other "weird" in a sweet, gentle way.
I love the panel in 348 when Deku has to go back to fight Shigaraki after he initially got separated from him. I'll leave the panel here and let it speak for itself.
Tumblr media
(All credit goes to Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and anyone else involved).
It gives a nod to the conversation I mentioned earlier. When anything sweet comes up between them, it always brings a smile to my face.
I'll drop back to give any more thoughts I have.
Also hope to bring that Inko and Ochaco dinner fanfic to you very soon! Life's been very chaotic lately, but I'm still eager to share it with you.

MHA CHP 348 (Toga’s Plotarmor is INSANE)
Again, Toga is trash, 100% trailer trash. A fuckin clown.
The whole premise of her backstory basically: She's fucking weird, people point it out, now she's a villain because people "just don't get it" or mom didn’t pat her on the back for sucking off a dead birbs wounds for it’s life juices.
Tumblr media
Which is...underwhelming and typical, given with how fucked in the head she is, you'd think she was like a rape victim, or a Human trafficking survivor or something. That alone would be a better origin story.
And with how fast she is, you'd think she has formal training like ANY of the Robins that were taught by Batman. Seriously why tf is this little shit so goddamn proficient at assassination fight styles...borderline Ninjutsu.
Tumblr media
And what's more infuriating, Deku has Smokescreen, Float, Fa Jin, Full Cowling, Black Whip, the whole fucking Math equation.
Why isn't he using any of that to put this little girl down, OBVIOUSLY her "love" basically makes her the Venom to his Spider-sense. (Dumb shit btw)
OK, great, that's established, now let's switch it up, just use Black whip to restrain this fuckin punk, have Ochako Gravitize her and move on. BOOM, done.
I read the My Villain Academia Arc, i know she’s deadly, but why are we pretending she really goes hard like that?
Toga is not even that dangerous to how Deku is now, between Full Cowling and Black whip it's not even a goddamn fight.
Tumblr media
How is it people can say Deku would pimp slap Homelander but he's legit getting circles ran around him by this B lister? What?
Tumblr media
Toga, & Mirko- Horikoshi really needs to let go of his Authors boner for these two garbage cans and just kill them off.
There's NO REASON why Ochako didn't bring in Toga during Jaku arc, and there's no reason why Deku, DEKU as he is now, didn't bring her down here and now.
NOW he speeds off so the girls get their little mini-boss fight, away from the from the fights that matter.
JAKU ARC ALL OVER againTYPICAL.
Tumblr media
She escapes Ochako in Jaku arc, now Deku speeds off before he & the girls can just put down Toga, finally.
And this happened because Horikoshi knows Toga doesn’t stand a chance, if the characters are allowed to just put her down.
Yes Tomura needs to be stopped, but it would take all of 3min or 30 sec to just black whip her into submission.
Toga’s plotarmor is kicking ass.

Chapter 348's "Shitty Nerd" Narrator Isn't Omniscient (And It's Not Bakugou Katsuki)
So, for a good bit there we were all theorizing about what was up with the narrator of chapter 348 calling Izuku a "shitty nerd" for not recognizing Toga's feelings for him, right?
Now, in a previous post I explained the different expectations Japanese audiences tend to have for frame narratives in weekly serialized manga. I posited that this may mean that the identity of 348's third-person narrator isn't necessarily of direct importance and, as a result, may never be explicitly revealed. I maintain the validity of this observation in general, however I no longer think it is relevant to understanding Horikoshi's approach to writing.
Because I am confident I have figured out who the narrator is: Best Jeanist.
To be clear, I do not believe that Best Jeanist is the source of every third-person narration in the series so far—I have yet to go back and research earlier chapters enough to theorize about that. I believe he is specifically the frame narrator who is explaining the critical moments of the Heroes’ final battle against AFO/Shigaraki, most notably in chapters 348 and 377.
Let’s go over the supporting evidence for this reading.
Best Jeanist's speech patterns match the idiosyncrasies found in 348
Back in February, pikahlua pointed out that 348's narrator uses "de aru” (である, also conjugated as であり, de ari) and I have been thinking about this detail ever since. Early on I described 348’s narration to a friend as sounding almost like a textbook, and it is “de aru” which contributes most to that tone. It functions as a connecting verb meaning "be" or "is," but it feels uniquely literary, even a bit archaic. Due to this, I pretty readily imagined that 348 was narrated by an omniscient figure who was telling the story to us as a historical event, like it was a passage from a book on “the great Hero Deku” or something like that.
But I kept wondering if, among all the fanciful characters in MHA, there was anyone who fit the bill for this type of language. Lo and behold:
Tumblr media
On top of Shigaraki escaping, we sustained tremendous damage. But… nevertheless, we Heroes must continue the fight with the threads of our faith utterly unrent! This is the hope of our scattered comrades, and it will be spun into a new era… Plus Ultra!
The back cover of the Japanese volumes all have in-character narration blurbs that match the speech patterns and personality of the character featured on the spine of the book. This is not replicated in the English releases, so the above translation is my own. Here, Best Jeanist uses “de aru” (highlighted in blue) for that same literary effect 348 uses. I looked through other volume covers and a few dozen chapters, and I found only a couple other uses of “de aru” in total--by Iida and a member of Spinner’s army shown in 370, neither of whom are likely candidates for 348’s narrator.
Best Jeanist in general speaks in a deliberately refined, elegant way. He uses polite speech at times and, even when talking casually, his word choices are rather serious and poetic. Notice the top orange text highlighted: 一糸の綻び (isshi no hokorobi) meaning the tear of a single thread, an evocative metaphor. Keep this and the bottom orange text in mind (散って, chitte, describing the “scattered comrades”).
Side note: Best Jeanist has used “kare” (彼, meaning "he") in canon to refer to Izuku, seen here in chapter 323:
Tumblr media
This is less of a smoking gun than “de aru,” but the politeness of 348’s narration and the word “kare” specifically rule out Katsuki as a potential narrator, so it is worth mentioning.
Volume 31 covers chapters 296-306, with the last chapter entitled, “The Final Act Begins.” I think it is significant that Best Jeanist is the narrator on this volume cover; it may be foreshadowing for his role as the narrator for the Final Battle itself, which leads us to...
Best Jeanist's Threads of Hope
Best Jeanist's Quirk and his entire schtick are about fibers and threads. He makes this a direct metaphor for the Heroes’ struggle against the League of Villains in 292 where he says that they will stop the League by weaving "threads of hope" (一縷の希望, ichiru no kibou). He develops this metaphor further in 294, describing their victory over Gigantomachia.
Tumblr media
He also used this kind of language in 311 and 317.
Tumblr media
And don’t forget, he sutured Katsuki’s damaged heart back together in hopes of reviving him.
Tumblr media
Then, we got this sequence in 377:
Tumblr media
A faceless, elderly individual speaking about the Final Battle in the past tense. This person directly references that thin thread to describe the Heroes’ chances and their gambit against the villains.
The blue text in the top panel, which is curiously absent from the English release, says:
「舞い散る桜のように・・・」
maichiru sakura no you ni…
Like falling cherry blossoms…
The verb for “falling” here is actually two verbs joined together meaning “to fall as if dancing.” Literally, maichiru means dance-scatter. The Heroes’ gambit relies on dividing the villains, and in their efforts, they themselves are being scattered, like cherry blossoms. Remember how Best Jeanist described his comrades as scattered? The second verb here is that very same one.
The thread and snap (or cut) wording even gets brought up six chapters later by Tsukauchi:
Tumblr media
The “hope” part is technically not present in the Japanese here, but I think official translator Caleb Cook caught on to the thematic parallel. And in my opinion, it is a pretty significant parallel.
So, with all this in mind: My bet is that Best Jeanist is the primary narrator for the final arc of the series.
This is a very interesting choice; it definitely raises questions about whether All Might survives. Best Jeanist is currently in his late 30s, so for him to be the elderly narrator seen in 377, he would have to be relaying these events from 30-40 years in the future, which might mean All Might survives the final battle but dies of old age later.
Whatever happens in the battle against AFO/Shigaraki, I think both Best Jeanist and Katsuki survive. Sometime post-battle, everyone gets the explanation for what happened when Izuku was warped away by Toga, and Katsuki—hearing that Izuku didn’t recognize Toga’s feelings for him—utters some iteration of 348’s infamous line about how, no matter what he does, he is still "a shitty nerd.”
Best Jeanist quotes him in 348’s narration, because... well, even though it is vulgar, it is a pretty accurate and even affectionate description of Izuku’s oblivious nature from his childhood friend, who knows him quite well. I think Best Jeanist, having mentored and watched over Katsuki all this time, deferred to him on the subject of Izuku’s personal life.
But he also did it because it’s funny as hell, and we should never forget that MHA is a comedy.

Note
To be fair the scanlators for MHA seem to flatout make shit up (like 348), while Viz is slightly more insidious in that thier translator seems more technically correct but chooses words that better align with his views of the characters and their relationships (like making Izuku’s response in 327 more aggressive). I feel like he may just put ‘close’ instead of closest for example
I don’t worry too much about the scanlations (but I also appreciate the effort that goes into them even if there’s inaccuracies sometimes because translating is a lot of work)
But the official… that’s thing that gets put on the shelves. That’s what a majority of people will see and take from. And you’re right in the way Caleb approaches his translations, it’s like… purposely altering things to fit his “interpretation”, or changing the tone of a pretty straightforward sentence when so many other translators and jp fans have called him out for it.
Tumblr media
I really don’t know how else to interpret this other than “closest to” but I could also see him changing it to “you’re extremely close to Midoriya Izuku” then people being like “SEE! he’s not the closest but just really close” as if that changes anything??? We’re just gonna have to wait and see 😖

MHA Chapter 395 spoilers translations
This week’s initial tentative super rough/literal translations under the cut.
Tumblr media
tagline 1 No.395 幸せの上に 堀越耕平 ナンバー395 しあわせのうえに ほりこしこうへい NANBAA 395 shiawase no ue ni   Horikoshi Kouhei No. 395 Above happiness  Kouhei Horikoshi (Note: There are many ways to potentially translate this title. “Ue” means top, above, beyond, before, regarding, because of, and many other similar things. I take this title to either mean there’s something more important than the speaker’s happiness or the speaker is doing something because of their happiness.)

Literally, the first part of the phrase means “no matter where you go,” but the idiom in English would translate to “no matter what you do.”)

MHA Ch. 382 leak reactions
SHINSOOOOOO!!! I’m glad to see him controlling Machia, but also heading towards AFO. I wonder what happens if he takes control of AFO while AFO is rewinding — it would certainly stall AFO’s escape, but how would it affect Tomura? And the OFA-AFO resonating/hearing each other thing? (Seeing Shinsou — the kid who didn’t even make it into the hero course and is fighting now under a special exemption from Mera — go up against AFO and hold his own would be amazing.)
It’s funny how AFO exploded into a younger version of himself only a few chapters after Tomura burst out of AFO’s potato-faced vestige and began wearing his old TomurAFO skin like a flannel tied around his waist.
I feel so awful for Toga. She abandoned most of her hope back in Ch. 341 (when Toya teased her for having a heart, and asked if she was really ready to put an end to the world), and then she slammed the door shut in Ch. 348 when Izuku rejected her confession. She said it was hard to live, even though she’s full of love. Now AFO hypes her up, saying she has yet to unleash her full power…and it’s a dud. Toga loves Toya and Tomura but her clones can’t use their quirks. If Twice could do it, and she’s now Twice, why can’t she fully be him and make clones that can use quirks? Does this mean she doesn’t love him enough? Toga’s so dejected that is her “love” is always getting in the way, no matter what her goals are. The Twice clones are telling her to exterminate the heroes but she just…can’t. There’s still that small part of her that doesn’t love destruction. Yes, she wants to be like her friend, Jin, but she doesn’t want to be the person who puts an end to the world.
Anyone else enjoying that Tsukauchi — a random Tokyo detective who accidentally discovered Toshinori Yagi’s big secret — is now in charge at HQ? And forging all kinds of random connections? Like the idea that Tsukauchi is going back and forth between La Brava and Hawks is HILARIOUS because those two are high maintenance and oh yeah, there’s also a multi-stage battle for the end of the world happening too.

Also, I must say this considering my last post; the fact that I am still alive and I’m witnessing to return of the last Bleach Arc is a miracle; and I am so excited!!
This scene in the trailer had me SCREAMING; the animation looks phenomenal

My #1 post of 2022
Ichiruki is that ship that I still question HOW THE HELL WERE THEY NOT ENDGAME?!
Seriously, think about it. SO. Many. Moments. Literally in EVERY arc. Don’t even get me started on the ichiruki content in every movie (including the Live Action movie)
ALL THE LONGING LOOKS
SO MANY SCENES WITH THEM HAVING THE SAME FACIAL EXPRESSIONS TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER.
What was the point of ALL OF THAT just for them NOT TO BE ENDGAME?
This scene in particular just
TEARS MY SOUL TO SHREDS
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HOW SHE LOOKS UP AT HIM
Because she knows HE may never see her again and she knows that this may very well be the last time she sees him too.
Don’t tell me she didn’t cry the second she made it back into Soul Society, like COME ON
Don’t tell me Ichigo didn’t become deeply depressed the second she was gone. He probably took hour long walks in the pouring rain because he missed her so much, YOU KNOW HE WOULD DO IT.
