Starting work on a new painting. This one is a photo I took of my producer eric performing at the last show I went to. It's going to be a surprise but he doesn't use tumblr so I can post here!
I started it yesterday, just blocking out the shapes in yellow and orange using the grid lines for reference. Today I made a plan of what colors I wanted he painting to have by exploring them with my oil pastels. Next step will be to paint the drawings colors over my orange base I made.
This was a new methodology for me, using oil pastel to plan my paintings colors in a more loose quick way that I can't achieve with paint. I hope it translates effectively to the painting but we will have to see.
