Hey when I was reading Catalyst I found your writing style very visually evocative, so I imagined a lot of scenes as though they were movie scenes!
So the scene where Ranboo bites Tubbo after finding him dumpster diving and buying him dinner, I imagined Only Everyone Can Judge Me by Crywank starts playing after Ranboo bites into Tubbo's neck. I imagined that the build up to that moment is really intense, with Tubbo basically shouting at Ranboo to bite him and all and Ranboo freaking out because he can't stop himself, but then once he sinks his teeth in there's this sudden tone shift to an almost tranquility, as that opening guitar starts playing, and Ranboo's crying quietens down as he beings to drink and the strained expression of pain fades from Tubbo's face a little as he begins to adjust and his body relaxes, and they both kind of settle into what's happening a little more. Then that song continues playing as Ranboo continues to drink, and there's a weird serenity and calmness to it, while at the same time the self-hating lyrics reflect both of their emotional states. There's a shot of Tubbo's hand slipping out of Ranboo's as he begins to lose consciousness, and Ranboo reaching down to recapture his hand again.
Then Tubbo falls to the ground and Ranboo thinks he's killed him, just like in his nightmare, and kneels over him trying to wake him up. Tubbo opens his eyes, looking sweaty and pale, and for the first time seems to be meeting Ranboo's gaze with a completely open expression, showing his weakness. The song ends on that shot of opening his eyes and holding Ranboo's gaze for a long second, with "this isn't a brave face, this is a mask", calling back to Tubbo's insistence on Ranboo biting him being partly or mostly motivated by his suicidal ideation, and them both knowing this on some level. With that shot, and that moment of Tubbo meeting Ranboo's eyes, they both seem to acknowledge his underlying motivations just a little more honestly. The song ends on that line and doesn't continue after that because the intense guitar that comes after ruins the mood of the scene haha.
AAAAAAAAAA I LOVE THIS
i listened to this song (and the other ones you sent) and imagined the scene and it all fit so perfectly like a little music video playing in my head it was awesome :D
when i write, i imagine each scene like one from a movie, and then just describe whatever i see in my brain (with the addition of a couple other sensory details, of course), so it makes sense why my writing would feel movie-esque :]

THAT SCENE ;___; frpm stuck in the middle with you!!! a) what a complete disaster from a doylistic perspective - a reservoir dogs sendup but you gotta try and nohomo it so bad??? but somehow it looped around to being super duper gay anyway??? but also b) CLEARLY given 15.18 this means Cas has had a death bed confession on his mind for ATLEAST 3 years at that point but in S12 he chickened out and added "ALL OF YOU" at the end and everyone let him get away with it!! BUT c) could you imagine if he didn't chicken out? And then crowley saved him anyway? JFC can you imagine? what a mess.
nonny, i hear you. they were insane for this!!! and for thinking that they actually managed to no-homo any of it!!
oh man, society if Cas had been allowed to tell Dean how he felt all the way back before Jack was even born.
and, and, presuming tbtb would have kept running in the direction the show was clearly running and Cas died at the end of the season, the widower arc would have been so much more intense and like. i appreciate that Jack wakes Cas up in the Empty and that Cas essentially rescues himself, but if Dean knew for a fact because Cas said it to his face that Cas loved him????? he'd be all up in the Empty's business trying to get Cas back. and then maybe once he got Cas back he'd get his head out of his ass. we could have had three glorious seasons of their NRE shenanigans. 😭 instead, they chose violence.
a big fucking mess, indeed.

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.
you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.
you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.
don't fuck up. they're all testing you, always. they're tolerating you. whatever secret club happened, over a summer somewhere - during some activity you didn't get to attend - everyone else just... figured it out. like they got some kind of award or examination that allowed them to know how-to-be-normal. how to fit. and for the rest of your life, you've been playing catch-up. you've been trying to prove that - haha! you get it! that the joke they're telling, the people they are, the manual they got- yeah, you've totally read it.
if you can just divide yourself in two - the lovable one, and the one that is you - you can do this. you can walk the line. they can laugh and accept you. if you are always-balanced, never burdensome, a delight to have in class, champagne and glittering and never gawky or florescent or god-forbid cringe: you can get away with it.
you stare at your therapist, whom you can make jokes with, and who laughs at your jokes, because you are so fucking good at people-pleasing. you smile at her, and she asks you how you're doing, and you automatically say i'm good, thanks, how are you? while the answer swims somewhere in your little lizard brain:
how long have you been doing this now? mastering the art of your body and mind like you're piloting a puppet. has it worked? what do you mean that all you feel is... just exhausted. pick yourself up, the tightrope has no net. after all, you're cheating, somehow, but nobody seems to know you actually flunked the test. it's working!
aren't you happy yet?

Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

"Disabled people should be allowed to be as independent as we can be" and "disabled people should not be pressured to be hyper-independent in order to not wind up in nursing homes against our will" are two thoughts that can, and should, exist at the same time.

And here's two more songs I associate with Catalyst's visuals, I imagine them both like movie trailers / music videos. Send Me An Angel has lots of scenes of misty dark streets at night, like when Ranboo was following Tubbo on the train and to the bar on the night he murdered Schlatt, and the scene where Tubbo is driving through Ranboo's neighbourhood in that misty night before he crashes. And Life Eternal has more dramatic scenes, like the moment where Tubbo slowly walks up to Ranboo in the garage and lifts up his lip to reveal his fangs :3
MORE SONG THINGIES WAHOO
i really liked these songs (i also really liked the crywank one, but i also just really like crywank in general) and i think i'll listen to the albums at some point as well :]

Size/Height difference poses
I love height differences aesthetically, but posing them can sometimes be a pain! So to cater to those that also struggle with posing smols and tols, I have a few options-
Meant for art of any type and ask memes, for drawing, writing, photography (like gpose!), ect. Gender nonspecific and for any sort of relationship type, romantic, platonic, and antagonistic!

the problem is that being single is seen as the consolidation prize, and not the natural neutral state of being-a-person. at the end of the movie or the book or the poetry, there is a person waiting for you at the altar, and they love you. if the play is a comedy, everyone gets married. the metaphor is about how you are not-whole. the metaphor is about how everyone is going to be happily-ever-after. the metaphor is that romantic love is the most important resource on the planet, not just all-love. all-love is not a thing, that is a disappointment. the treasure is not the friends we made along the way. the treasure is the girl you landed.
the metaphor is that you cannot be alone, that means you are broken. are you getting over someone? that is acceptable, you can be getting over someone, but not for long. you must be single because you would rather not be single. you must be single and looking to not-be-single. you must want to date, eventually.
friendship and community are never seen as being equal-to or even-better than romantic connection. that person is your one! you need to find them. you need to hunt through the sand particles until you can shift out some kind of gem. this is regardless to your own experience of the beach and the sun. you need to be somewhere with someone.
if you are taking this time alone to heal, that is so sad. everyone gives you this little pitying look. the understanding is that you are not actually happier than you were before you were single. it is seen as a sort of pity - oh, you are choosing yourself, making yourself the priority? - that isn't quite right. you must mean that you are making yourself ready for the right person. you are just laying the bed better this time. open up your heart. you'll find them, we promise!
what do you mean you're really-truly genuinely-very happy? you are probably misremembering what it was like to be in a relationship. and besides, once you meet your person, that time will look grey and bland and wasted. your person is the only way for you to see in color. so what if you have taken this time - for the first time in your entire life - to actually-for-real do the fucking work. you can be proud of yourself, sure. but the way we need to know that you got better is that you get a partner. you're healed enough for the next bad part!
people don't choose to be single, they just say they're choosing to be single - they actually mean "nobody wants to date me." it doesn't matter how many people you have gently rejected or how many times you've talked it over carefully in therapy. what matters is that you are single, and by all accounts - that means you are something worth our pity. your successes and life all seem pale in the sunlight. sure, you have done amazing things and finally found your way in life. what matters is that there wasn't a person in the room with you while you did it.
you want to tell them - that's the whole thing. i didn't know how to be alone in the room. i didn't know how to handle the silence. every moment was so sharp, and i kept choosing the wrong way to close the door. i have spent my entire life in the empty well, living in the ricochet of someone else's cruelty. for once i have built myself a ladder. for once everything i taste is all mine, every bite of sunshine and laughter. i have learned how to sleep out in the open with my memories. recently, they have started to purr.
your father rolls his eyes. listen. this isn't about you. i just want a grandchild in my future.

Something I really appreciate in Dungeon Meshi is how much "restraint" Ryoko Kui shows when telling this story. It's so clearly crafted to be the best story it can be.
By that I mean how she had SO MUCH world building for this story but still kept it as contained as it needed to be, it's a story about a few characters inside one dungeon, even if the world is expansive the story isn't. And even with the amount of characters she clearly loves so much she never got side tracked as I see so many other mangas get. The world is alive, other people exist fully with their own lives, but it stays true to the story that's being told in this universe.
I think it really shines through with how the world building relevant to the story is slowly shown to us in a non expository way, that's also something I see a lot, especially in movies, just stopping everything on it's tracks so they can info dump about the world to you, but in dungeon meshi its all so organic... magic is explained because some characters are ignorant, cultural differences are shown through cultural clashes, world history is implied through relevant conversation (monster facts are info-dumped to us but even that is in character) it's all really good and I don't think I could have gotten this into it if everything was just laid out in front of me right away.
This is all to say I'm glad we have the adventurer's bible and all this extra content that didn't fit into the story but I'm glad they weren't forced into it in detriment to the storytelling.

Your Arthur art of him thinking a TV is a magic mirror makes me think that he would have freaked tf out the first time he heard a phone ring.
"MERLIN! WHERE IS THAT ACCURSED NOISE COMING FROM!?" lmao
Old timey peoples reacting to modern tech is obvious, what I'm always more curious about is old timey people reacting to modern music for example, or a supermarket (this just in: medieval man faints in a Walmart)
I love Arthur and Merlin, I shall never get over them. Love <3 your art, it is most wonderful
