second off- I'm hoping you can help me with this fic I've been searching for for months
it's like a matchmaking fic- post almost-pocalypse adam wants heaven and hell to get along- so he like. makes a magic matchmaking tinder paper? like every angel and demon has to fill in their preferences, type, and all that, and they get matched with someone else, either angel or demon, who is most compatible. everyone had to try atleast a few times, adam commanded that, and it was blind date esque- i remember there were like, 5ish chapters? but I'm not sure about that. i do remember that crowley and aziraphale matched with multiple ppl, azi once matched with beelzebub, also gabriel - but that was adam playing a prank
in the end they both described each other to the t bcs, yk, feelings realisation, and adam said something about them choosing free will- which was apparently the whole point of everything -? idk I read it sometime back and loved it sm, but I can't find it again 😭😭

This is a mix of authors who I've either read multiple works from and consistently check back for, or who have one or two stand-out fic I really loved & re-read over and over.
ShowMeAHero - read multiple fics from this author, they always do really sweet trans!stede content that makes me keep coming back! I recommend "The Most Dangerous Thing is to Love"
RoughWinds - specifically for a personal fave fic of mine called "Hold Me" that made me cry
@bizarrelittlemew(ao3) - a beloved mutual of mine, with the stand-out fic being "First Snow"
ToadPuppy - who consistently writes the best Stede whump and always gives me the warm hurt/comfort fuzzies. I recommend "Seven Pomegranate Seeds"
teaDragon - specifically for one of my all-time favourite fics "Adrift between dreaming seas" which had one of the most unique concepts I've read & which utilizes metaphors beautifully throughout.
Im not sure how many of these lovely authors are on tumblr, but if you know them please tag them so they get all the credit they deserve, and Ive linked all their Ao3s and the standout fics!
There are also so many other incredible authors in this fandom, and maybe one day when I have some more time I'll write out a full rec list and find the fic that I credit with my trans awakening LOL.

Characters in the Disabled Characters Showdown
Notes:
1.) Characters are listed below the cut, because there’s a ridiculous amount of them. Depending, some of the characters may not be in the showdown, however, if you submit one it will probably be used
2.) We are still looking to have more characters submitted and will update this page accordingly. At this point we are looking at doing a 128 person showdown because we’re extra like that. We’ll see if that actually happens but it seems probable. Characters can be submitted in the notes of this post or in an ask.
3.) If you want to submit propaganda about any of these characters feel free to because otherwise you will get things like this: “Haven’t the faintest clue who this is, so you get no context.” You can also submit character images because most of them will be horrible due to us just pulling most of them from the fandom page.
4.) If you have any issues about any characters feel free to shoot us an ask. That being said, this poll isn’t really about who is the best representation. See more details here. If you are wondering why a character is on the list feel free to ask and we’ll tell you but we’re not gonna put on reasoning for all of the characters.
5.) Characters can be entered until June 27, with the showdown kicking off a couple of days later.

‘Try not to get lost again,’ Thorin smiled.
‘I’ll try my chest – best! I’ll try my best!’ Bilbo could have kicked himself over the blunder, but as it turned out he didn’t have to.
Thorin’s face transformed from an infuriatingly knowing smirk into a look of panic. He reached out with a hand, stepping forward quickly, ‘Bilbo, look out!’

And there's nothing there that prevents me from claiming a member of the Company as my treasure." Joking was better than admitting anything. Bilbo could be just as stubborn, and he's had enough and a cough for that stupidly gorgeous dwarf king. "Because Balin is either a wicked matchmaker or losing his touch."

TOP 5 OFMD AUS (not counting yours which is PERFECT)
(Oh, you! Thank you very much!) Now, THIS is a top five I can sink my teeth into. In the GOmens fandom I did some pretty substantial fic rec lists back in the day, when I had things like energy and time, so picking just five is gonna be tough...I will do my best! There is such a wealth of creativity in this fandom!
First: Leda House and the Kraken 'Verse by @dragonmuse (Usually M, some E, some T). I got in on the ground floor on this one and have been on a beautiful emotional journey with it ever since. It's the drag queen AU that just won't quit. Running the gamut from screamingly funny to heartbreakingly poignant to quietly cathartic, there are even AUs within the AU sure to scratch as many itches as you care to manifest, all while maintaining a solid sense of character and voice throughout. Truly worth investing time and attention to, A+++++.
Second: adrift between the dreaming seas by teaDragon (M). Do you want a funky fairy tale vibe with talking animals, surprising curses, a Kraken with big doe eyes, and a deeply emotional journey to self-acceptance? Of COURSE you do. And you want some lighthouse imagery with that? YES. Put this in your eyeballs immediately, because trust me, TRUST ME, it's a keeper.
Third: The Nettles in the Garden Don't Go Away by JRaylin441 (M). Are you tired of the same old same old soulmate AUs? Just want something with a fresh twist? How about a side of the slowest burn imaginable, heaped with excruciating emotional growth and breathtaking poetic imagery? Don't skip out on this one, then, because if your goal in life is to Feel Things about your blorbos, it doesn't get more feelingsy than this bad boy right here. Drowning in the feelings, you might say. Still updating, just as a warning, but well worth the wait, in my opinion. You feel every second of these boys' growth arcs, and it does absolutely start at childhood and is taking us through canon--and hopefully beyond, but who's to say? A true gem.
Fourth: Catch Fish by Cesare (T). Let's get a little lighter with a series about catfishing and unraveling the plots thereof. Yes, this is less heavy than it seems, so far consisting of two fics covering the two sides of the story: first, Stede and Ed working through how Stede was tricked by someone using Ed's pics and catching some real feelings along the way, and then a prequel, showing Stede's emotional journey through his time being catfished. Funny and sincere and emotional, still updating both fics but a fantastic ride so far.
Fifth: A Minivan Called the Revenge by @duskoscrawl and @doctors-star (T). I am a sucker for kid AUs, and this one is the cream of the crop as far as "crew of Revenge is kids, Stede and Ed are their dads" flavors of kid fic goes. My only complaint is that I want more of it. Even without being super duper long, the emotional bonds between not just the dads themselves but the dads and their kids are really well-established and feel organic, and they don't pull any emotional punches either. Little bitty Buttons with his plush seagulls lives rent-free in my head forever.
(And a most honorable mention to saturday night lights by sometimeseffable (T), the American college football and color guard AU that tingles my brain in ways that just don't make sense for how much I don't care for real-life American football, but probably have to do with being friends with band kids for my entire adolescence and growing up in a football culture. Sweet and funny and going hard on the pining, which is what we're all here for! Still updating, but worth the read!)
There are so many more that are worth mentioning but I've already cheated with six recs so gonna stop while I'm ahead. Thank you!

“One might also assume that being made to walk the earth - er - one little isle of it, for all the days and nights thereof ever and after and so on to be a miserable existence. And they may be right to say so! But!” Here he turned to his audience, “What’s the difference between a curse…and a blessing?” He looked enquiringly around the little beach. None of the animals strewn about it appeared to be listening.
“Anyone? Swede?”
The sea lion shrunk back a little guiltily, not meeting his gaze.
“Black Pete?”
There was a rude short from the scraggly hound.
“No one? Really?” Stede sighed. “Alright. The secret is…perspective!” He made a little flourish. “Ta da!” There was a despairing whine. He chose to ignore that.

Red tea dragon
My first post! Featuring one of my cute teacup dragons. Who wouldn’t like a little helper to drink tea with?
About the dragon:
He is a sweet little creature living in homes where tea is often served. He likes to sleep in tea ceramics sometimes accidently breaking small cups. When guests are to visit his keepers he will dutifully serve on the table: lighting up candles and keeping the tea the perfect temperature to drink. Not too hot nor cold!
He is the best tea dragon to be kept by beginners since he will eat any tea! Any already infused herbs or fruits will make him happy and healthy. But it is important to change up his diet from time to time so he gets all necessary nutrients. Sadly this little fellow can be quite rowdy so he is not the best pick to be kept around little children. But fear not there will be dragons in this bestiary that are great with children!
About the piece: This watercolor painting was done by Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolors on a Fabriano cold press paper. After that liners and colored pencils were used to draw the final details.

I remember a long time ago I read this wonderful fic that was like…Adam was a little older and wanted to make peace between heaven and hell so he made dating questionnaires??? So the demons and angels could go on dates depending on what they were looking for??? And they were required to go on at least three(?) meanwhile Aziraphale and Crowley are doing it too (“no special treatment” etc, etc) and unknowingly putting traits the other has and going through the whole date wishing they were with the other???
I distinctly remember Aziraphale goes on a date with a demon who is basically Charlie Chaplin and Crowley actually ends up on a date with some angel that takes the form of different animals and they just have a day out being animals together.
I have no clue what the name is and I have been wanting to read it SO. BAD. I beg of you, take pity on me😭
