Thor: Love and Thunder
Okay, I have to admit it wasn’t what I went in expecting, it was underwhelming and chaotic in terms of storytelling.
Positives? It gave us more domestic and dad Thor content which I LIVE for. It made me feel all kinds of things. The sisterhood between Valkyrie and Jane was epic. And well, the goats were hilarious.
What did you guys think of the movie?

Thor: Love and Thunder
Director: Taika Waititi
Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi
Release Date: July 8, 2022
My Rating: 8/10 (you gotta go in expecting a fun, silly superhero movie. If you don’t take it too seriously, you’ll love it!)
My Review (no spoilers):
This movie was just as goofy and silly as Thor: Ragnarok. Let me say that straight out of the gate. I’ve seen people saying that this movie made a mockery out of Thor? No. I’d argue that the goddamn Russo brothers did that with Fat Thor in Endgame. This movie very quickly gets rid of that character nonsense and puts Thor back on his path from Endgame...shows him dealing with the realistic outcomes (on his personal life) of Infinity War and Endgame. If anything, it’s a little less silly than Ragnarok, as it has some heavier darker scenes and moments as well. It also provides a nice littel redemption arc for Jane Foster, who I loved in the original Thor, and who they RUINED in Thor: The Dark World when they reduced her to a mere damsel in distress after she spent the first movie being a realistic scientific badass.
Finally, a Marvel movie with strong and clear themes and narratives. he themes result in an ending that FELT RIGHT, narratively. Too often nowadays, the ending of movies are so crazy and out of left field, just for shock value. This ending felt right and you could feel it coming towards the end but it was still asatisfying surprise when the movie ended like it did.Thematicallyy and naratively, this story and its ending just. made. sense. The motivations and the actions of the characters? Also made sense.
Speaking of the characters? Loved ‘em. Let’s talk about the ladies first.
I wish Valkyrie could’ve gotten more screen time but I also kind of get why she didn’t...the pacing of this movie is pretty straightforward, and I’m not sure how much more we could focus on her without making the movie longer or taking it in a different direction. While I wish we had more of her, what we got of her was still great. I’m so happy they brought Natalie Portman back, and I think that they handled her character very well. Natalie Portman herself didn’t really want to come back unless there was a good story...Jane Foster’s story in this movie was 1) good enough for Natalie Portman (meaning it’s good enough for me) and 2) sends Jane on her merry way, so that viewers aren’t stuck wondering what ever happened to her. So I’m really happy with how they handled her.
Now onto the gentlemen. I don’t care if people think Thor was a joke in this movie. I’ve been a Thor fan since 2011. For the longest time, he was my favorite Avenger. I’ve loved every Thor movie, even The Dark World. I, like the majority of MCU fans, loved Ragnarok. I liked the fun character turn that Thor got. This movie just expands upon that. I don’t want to go into it further less I spoil it. But just like how Ragnarok was about Thor coming into his own power and realizing he’s strong enough and fit to lead but also that his own power comes from within himself, not from his hammer? There’s a similiar thing going on in this movie.
AND GORR!!! Oh my goodness. This movie reminded me why I had a Christian Bale obsession back in junior high school. I saw a review during the early release of this movie that Gorr was one of the best Marvel villains and honestly? I wholeheartedly agree. Gorr made me feel genuine anxiety and fear for the ‘good guys’ that I haven’t fealt since Thanos. And while Thanos’s endgoal might have been worse (he wanted to kill 50% of EVERYTHING, Gorr just wants to kill all the gods), Gorr’s motive and backstory was a lot more believable and sincere. Gorr felt more genuinely (at his core) motivated than Thanos and the explanation at the beginning of the movie as to why Gorr is the way that he is? He almost had me agreeing with him. His actions, in his mind, are actually helping people. So not only is Gorr an outstanding villain on paper, but on SCREEN he was breathtaking. Christian Bale delivered. I feel like sometimes, these big-name actors will be in Marvel movies and then they don’t even get to perform to their full potential (Kurt Russell as Ego, for example). But Christian Bale really killed it in this role and I’m so happy he was a part of the movie.
So yeah, I really enjoyed the movie, and I’m not going to let anyone else steal my joy. I think I still like Ragnarok a bit better, but this was a fun pick-me-up from Marvel that was sorely needed. The second act of the movie is freaking awesome. Zeus? Who I forgot was going to be in this movie? Amazing. The humor was just like Ragnarok. Visually, this movie was absolutely stunning. The two postcredit scenes were great. One wrapped something up really nicely, and the other got me excited about Thor’s future.
I really, really, liked this movie. Stop taking Marvel too seriously and just go watch it for simple enjoyment. It’s fun and if you don’t have fun watching it, you’re watching it wrong.

Thor: Love and Thunder thoughts (with spoilers)
TL;DR: I’m sorry but I didn’t like the movie :/
(No, I’m not a taika hater nor a Marvel purist nor a Loki fan)
This weekend I took my nephew to watch the last Thor movie as he likes superhero stuff and as I have recently found myself following Waititi’s work after watching Our Flag Means Death, so it seemed a nice plan.
Though I don’t consider myself an expert and I don’t like to call myself a fan of him, I must say that there are several “Taika trademarks” or “themes” in his work that I quite like. The absurd humor, crafting comedies with emotional quirks and the exploration of father figures are some of them. I also liked him as a performer both in What we do in the shadows and, of course, OFMD.
I must also say that I’m not a huge follower of superhero movies. I do find them entertaining overall and I know the main plot points of the marvel movies, but I didn’t really dig too much into their lore. So in preparation for this movie, I watched some scenes here and there from the Thor prequels.
I won’t notice if they are destroying the characters’ development or how many easter eggs and winks to other movies and comics there are (though I love to watch video recaps with this explanations ha!).
Now, considering all this, what I think I can review is if it’s an enjoyable movie for the casual viewer.
I just went with the expectations of having a laugh, enjoying the aesthetics, the music, and the fighting scenes and maybe some romcom, why not? (what can I  say, I’m a bit cheessy).
As a queer person, I didn’t have any expectations of LGBT+ rep - this is disney after all-, *spoilers begin* so I really didn’t care about the quickly mentioned Valkyrie’s girlfriend or her kissing a woman’s hand, nor Korg saying he has two dads or having a male partner at the end.
I’ve read that some people find these things groundbreaking for disney and others are angry and felt like they were queerbaited. I just think it’s not that big of a deal. They were minor details, easy to edit and maybe easy to miss. I don’t know, I just wasn’t impressed. Sorry, meh.
The main reason why I didn’t like the movie however is that’s so absurd and random it feels like a mess. Like I said, I love absurd comedy, but I’m talking about the absurdity of the script. The dialogue is cringy and unbelievable, not in the “Of course it is, it’s a superhero movie” sense, but the exposition was so obvious it was uncomfortable. It’s like they were screaming at me what I had to know and feel.
“Oh this is the scene in which I have to understand why we need to move from point A to point B”
“Oh this is the scene in which I must feel emotional and cry”
“Oh this is the scene in which I must understand the villain motifs and the underlying ideology the writers want me to sympathise with”
“Oh this is the scene in which I accept the change of heart in both the protagonist and the villain”
“Oh there it is, the queer representation scene! Hi gays!”
Everything was too on the nose.
Now, I don’t consider myself a boring person but the jokes.were.non.stop. Not in a good way. I like Taika’s humour and I, in fact, did laugh at most of the jokes. But there were so many that the other emotions had no room to be felt. It was like we were getting to an emotional scene and....JOKE! This is a comedy! Don’t take this too seriusly because it would be depressing! This was really frustrating and like a waste of scenes.
And the editing was...so...weird...and messy. I don’t study or work in the film industry but it was like I could catch the cut and paste of some scenes.
Anyway, I could go on and write more coherent and eloquent things but I got bored. I just wanted to vent a little.
Overwall, it’s a bummer that I didn’t like the movie. I had several laughs, said “ohh pretty” at many scenes and I liked how the music was used but all that was sadly affected by the poor script.
I doubt anyone will read this but I’m open to debate and whatnot.

Things I Loved About Thor: Love and Thunder
*SPOILER WARNING*
1. The Gods Metaphor: I think the gods council could be a metaphor for a lot of different things, but I understood it as a metaphor for a council of leading world powers. Individual countries approach for help against an oncoming war, aid against the pandemic, famine, massacring dictators, rising sea levels and sinking homes, etc., to which the council will reply, Regretfully there is nothing we can do for you. Your country's problems are your own.
Maybe if you have enough power to call yourself a leading world power (said power having been acquired through war and colonialism, or in other words, human sacrifices), you also have a responsibility to give aid back to the world? I don’t know. (BTW, climate change is real and the irreversible consequences get catastrophic in 30 months, please ask your government representatives to write climate agreements, things are looking real bad.)
Like the other gods, Thor still has the colonial power metaphor working in him too. At the beginning of the movie, he destroyed a holy temple while winning a battle for the native people there. Saved the people, but destroyed a cultural monument in the process. He does apologize for the destruction, though, and he doesn't ask for any compensation. He saves people for the sake of saving, which sets him apart from the other gods.
2. The Classic Thor Adventure: Here's the formula. Thor experiences loss, Thor gets character development, and Thor saves people despite high personal costs. Not necessarily in that order. This movie, like the previous ones, stuck to the formula. It works for both Thors.
3. Terminal Illness: Sometimes cancer treatments don't work. But there is a way to interpret death by illness as something other than "a lost battle"! The chemotherapy, and continuing the fight for everyday life, that is a battlefield! That is a warrior living life and achieving Valhalla through their courage and tenacity! (Also made me think about the pandemic’s ongoing death toll. There's a reason humans invented the concept of the afterlife.) (A Warriors' Welcome awaits all who fall in battle, you know! You get it!) (I cried in the theater.)
4. The Hammer: I think, no, I hope Mjolnir doesn't form attachments to its wielders. Mjolnir chooses wielders based on their willingness to sacrifice themselves for a just cause. The power of the hammer doesn't have anything to do with saving its wielder. It is a resuscitation device meant to last long enough for the wielder to do what needs to be done. I think it would be cruel for that hammer to be sentient, both to the hammer and the wielder being chosen. Of course, I don't think the wielders themselves would be as sad about the implications as I am. They're self-sacrificial heroes.
(Stormbreaker is definitely attached to Thor though. That ax has got a personality.)
5. Production Value: The cinematography was absolutely gorgeous, and the lighting in the fight scenes? Phenomenal. I love glowing eyes and arcing lightning so much. The battle scenes are so satisfying. I can't stop talking about the action sequences. The use of slo-mo is ethereal.
6. Hotness Scale: Thor and Valkyrie are so hot. Dr. Jane Foster, so incredibly hot. Your catchphrase is so cool, Mighty Thor. (MY BLORBOS.)
7. The Kids: If I were still a twelve-year-old and I’d just watched a movie where children weren't merely helpless victims who needed to be rescued by adults, but they were also cool heroes of their own right who had an incredibly badass action scene as they rescued themselves?? I mean, I know what my all-time favorite superhero movie would've been henceforth. (Maybe this is why I loved the Percy Jackson books so much.)
8. The Lovers: Jane Foster and Thor Odinson are in love. They fell in love sitting around a campfire talking about stars, and somehow they never stopped. The downside of being in love with a superhero is that you never know which world-saving mission will take your lover away. From beginning to end, they were star-crossed—and yet they didn't stop waiting, or crying; and whenever they saw each other they unfailingly said, "I still love you."
(They went to Halloween parties and learned rollerblading together. They bounced hero catchphrases off each other. They're awkward nerds who forget to explain the context for the weird stuff they blurt out. I just. Can't deal.)
9. LGBTQIA Representation: Hey, look, trans rep! Gay rep! Lesbian rep! The characters are important to the story and all survive too! That's pretty cool. Especially for a mainstream Marvel movie expected to be watched by a whole bunch of people.
10. Life Stages: This is possibly the last movie for the Old Avengers. Marvel is changing their target audience from middle-aged men/ex-children to current children. It's a necessary transition. It feels fitting that the final Thor movie asks our severely traumatized, still living hero: After everything is said and done, what will you do? And Thor adopts a child to raise with love. Neither of them have family left, so they might as well become new family for each other. (God of Thunder and God of Love, huh. That’s some myth.)
(This movie was a great sendoff for Thor in terms of reopening your heart after grief and giving power to the younger generation, but I'm seriously going to miss Thor, holy fuck. I. My og team time bomb. Now they're all really bowing out and exiting stage left. Bruce is gonna be the last hand-off.)
(They had a good run. I will miss these myths.) (FANFICTION, SAVE ME.)
11. The Deer: There is a very specific kind of deer called the Korean water deer (Hydropotes inermis argyropus) that screams like a human. It is the dominant deer species in Korea but endangered practically everywhere else. They are so many of them in the mountains. My friend once recorded them screaming at night because they were holding a metal rock concert. I guess what I'm trying to say is, the concept of the screaming deer is not new to me, but the screaming deer were still pretty damn funny.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) Review
Tumblr media
Am I the one who thought of that Britain’s Got Talent contestant Stavros Flatley when Russell Crowe popped up in this film? With the accent and the general demeanour? No? Just me? Fair enough.
Plot: Thor's retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who, to Thor's surprise, inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.
Thor: Ragnarök is still to this day my favourite Marvel Cinematic Universe film. It perfectly reinvented the titular character by seamlessly blending Taika Waititi’s energetic comedic timing with the mythology already built by the franchise prior, and truly that movie felt as if it came out straight from a comic book. The many colours and the inclusion Mark Mothersbaugh’s synthetic heavy 80′s techno pimped music score really made this entry a stand-out. So naturally I was looking forward to Thor’s fourth outing, especially since the entire Ragnarök creative team were coming back. Of course there was also concern, as since Avengers: Endgame the MCU has seen a dip in quality, as the lack of narrative direction has made most of the newer films very mediocre at best. But hey, in Taika we believe, so scurried into the cinema I did on opening day, ready for some Thortastic madness! By the way, did anyone know that Ben & Jerry’s now do ice cream shakes at the cinema? B&J SHAKES!? I mean c’mon, I’m trying to budget here and then Ben & Jerry’s come and pull this stunt. They taste rad though, not going to lie. Anyway, with a mighty fine shake in my hand, I sat in the cinema, ready for Thor’s next adventure. What could possibly go wrong?
I’m so glad I had that Ben & Jerry’s shake, at least I got some good out of this cinema outing. It is to my huge disappointment to reveal that Thor: Love and Thunder may just be Taika Waititi’s first real flop. The movie is a rushed mess and a half. It feels similar to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where Marvel gave James Gunn full creative freedom after he proved himself with the first Guardians film, now Taika to has been given full creative reign and the result is waaaaayyy too many cringey jokes, a lot of which don’t hit, and a very weak narrative plot, especially as the movie rushes through all the events, instead focusing on trying to fit in as may gags and humanly possible.
First and foremost, they dumbed down the character of Thor to the point that we behold a bumbling idiot doing stupid things for the sake of jokes. In Ragnarök, yes Chris Hemsworth lent more into the comedic side of the character, with the innocent child-like outlook on certain things, however he was still cool. He still felt like a Norse god who can kick butt and lead an army. In Love and Thunder however, he is just silly to the point that you don’t see him as the hero anymore. What’s worse is that the movie reminds you of the good times, as there are a couple of dramatic scenes between Thor and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, where Hemsworth actually shows signs of tender serious emotions, but then within minutes that is lost again in favour of some unfunny gag. And speaking of Portman, her return is actually one of the few highlights. Previously in the franchise Jane Foster didn’t have much purpose other than hey, Thor is a beautiful man, so he needs a beautiful woman to rub his face against. There was no chemistry or care for their relationship. However in Love & Thunder props given where props are due, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster is utilized really well. Her relationship with Thor felt much more believable, and a certain flashback featuring their love backstory to the accompaniment of ABBA was one of the few successful sparks of humour in the film, and her story in the movie actually tackles some deeper subjects that I do wish were given more time to explore and delve into.
In regards to other characters, there are a few, but again, due to the rushed plot where the movie seems to be racing against time itself, a lot of characters are heavily under-used. Valkyrie and Korg basically serve no purpose, other than the latter over-staying his welcome by cracking eye-rolling jokes. The Guardians of the Galaxy that are heavily featured in the marketing are in the movie for 5 minutes at best, if that. There are also a bunch of cameos throughout, some of which work, others not so much. I do want to talk about Christian Bale though, who plays the villain Gorr. As expected, Bale brings a powerhouse performance filled with gravitas and depth, however one that also has a bit of whimsy to it, and actually he was one of the best parts of the movie. Again though, not used enough. You have an A-list actor like Christian Bale and give him such a short role, that’s naturally disappointing. But in the moments he’s in he does magic. Metaphorically speaking but also physically, as he has this magical death sword which he spews out shadow monsters from. You know, typical evil bad guy shenanigans.
Thor: Love and Thunder comes off as a big fat joke. It’s a self parody of itself essentially, opting to act as a 2 hour long stand-up show, only that the comedian didn’t bring any decent material to the stage. Don’t get me wrong, it has a good few entertaining moments, and visually its good to look at, especially if you want to see Thor’s butt cheeks, but all in all it’s an underwhelming experience. Especially if you’re someone like me who is a big fan of Thor, with not just Ragnarök, but the previous films too. I’m sad to say, no matter how much Guns N’ Roses hits Taika sticks in this film, it doesn’t save it from being nothing more that mediocre and forgettable. Ah heck, at least I had that Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shake. That’s the only thing that’s keeping me going right now.
Overall score: 4/10

Thor Love and Thunder Review
Summary... I didn't like it.
Warning Spoilers Bellow:
Little Pet Peeve: I really resent that I was expecting a film of Thor and the Guardians and instead they got rid of the Guardians as soon as they could. Makes Thor leaving with them at the end of the last film extremely pointless.
Now I know this is an unpopular opinion but I was not the biggest fan of Thor Ragnarok. It was a funny film and alright on its own but I just felt it didn't flow with the rest of the MCU films and the scenes kind of just bounced along from point to point in a way that didn't seem to fit smoothly. And in a way, this film is very much the same but also worse.
For starters, the tone seemed all over the place. When it was funny, it was very funny. When it was scary, it was very scary. It might have worked individually. Altogether? It feels like a mess. Like the funny parts and the scary parts should be their own movies but instead, for some reason, they're pushed together into one film that gives me whiplash and I kind of get confused on how I'm supposed to be feeling. I mean one minute you have the villain ripping off heads of creatures and throwing it at the kids to terrify them, the next you have Zeus and the other Gods talking about the orgy they're planning to have.
There was also so much that was so forced purely for plot convenience and it really isn't subtle. Axl for example. Heimdall's son, who appears from nowhere, doesn't have any emotional connection to his deceased father (or anyone really) and is purely around so they can use Heimdall's powers when convenient to move the story along. Like when he needs to help Thor figure out where they are, or at the end when he can get the kids out of there so Thor can focus on fighting.
Or how Thor can suddenly temporarily bestow his powers onto all the kids at the end. Where was this power before?! There's no real explanation for why he can suddenly do it now so all I can think is that I'm sure Steve, Tony and everyone else would have really appreciated a bit of a God-boost when they were fighting Thanos.
Then there's Jane. Now Mighty Thor was my biggest reason for going to see the film and I adored every scene she was in. The action and emotional scenes with her were on point and amazing!
Only they decided to just kill her off at the end and like the rest of the film, it feels so tacked on for the convenience of the plot.
Like it was done to manipulate the audience into rooting for Thor taking in the Gorr's daughter. It's so painful how obvious it is. I mean, Thor's girlfriends dying and the Love's dad is dying so hey, now they're alone they can just slot together and make a sad ending a happy ending, look how well that works out.
It did have some good things. - Like I said, it was funny and scary when it wanted to be. - All Mighty Thor scenes were wonderful. - I loved all Korg and Valkyrie moments. - Even the parts that were bad were still entertaining. I may have issues with how he can suddenly hand out his powers, sure, but it was still a lot of fun to see a dozen kids running around and fighting with Thor's powers (the girl with the stuffed toy cracked me up)! - And I am looking forward to what they'll do with Love now since she's kind of a blank slate at the moment that has a lot of potential.
But in general, very disappointed. I hoped for so much more. Was very let down in the end.

Things I liked and disliked about Thor: Love and Thunder
Full spoilers below!!!
Also mandatory disclaimer that this is just my opinion and it’s as valid as anyone else’s! :)
Starting off with the positivity!! Things I liked:
The choreography and aesthetics of the film just blew my mind. Everything was pretty!!! The B&W battle scene where the only colour came from the illumination from the weapons? The battle against Zeus scene with the gold dust? The final battle with Guns N’ Roses blasting in the background???? Beautiful.
AXL Heimdallson and the kids. Say what you want about child actors but I thought their involvement was cute.
New Asgard basically being this quirky Norwegian village that is now a tourist destination.
Everything Valkyrie does. Especially when they LET HER BE GAY!!!
Jane’s character development and story. I got spoiled so I went in knowing she’d die, but the second part of the movie really hammered in her struggle and made me like her so much more. They also kinda redeemed the Thor and Jane romance for me since I never cared for it, but now it’s bittersweet.
The Guardians appearing. I just love my funny space gang.
Love Thordottir. Enough said.
Those fucking goats.
The fact that Mjölnir chose Jane because Thor told it to protect her. He unintentionally gave Jane the power of Thor with his love. And she used it to protect Thor in the end by sacrificing herself.
Now for the not-so-positive stuff AKA things I disliked:
The first half of the movie was just rushed and messy. It tries to be “stylistic” but the quippy and comedic moments just felt awkward as they try to cram in 1) Thor’s trauma and grief, 2) Jane’s cancer plot (and apparently their love story matters now! After Ragnarok so casually dismissing it), and 3) the God Butcher arc. It gets way better in the second part of the movie as things run more smoothly.
The Guardians, again. I think Taika just doesn’t know how to direct those characters, as the acting of that Guardians scene was so stiff and bad. All of them are just caricatures of themselves. It’s like the only guide Taika had with the Guardians was “they’re funny” and ran with it. And Groot’s CGI??? Wtf was that??? But honestly this just shows that James Gunn is the best choice for directing the GotG movies 🤷🏻‍♀️
They kind of randomly nerfed Valkyrie near the end of the movie. Why didn’t she participate in the final battle? It’s a nitpick but I wish she got to shine too.
Thor’s new armour didn’t do it for me.
The stakes of the movie never felt that high despite there being a literal GOD KILLER roaming around. Maybe I was just not that invested in the MCU anymore but Ragnarok had felt more gripping and urgent.
That’s it!! Overall I’d rank it above Doctor Strange MoM and most of the Phase Four films, but I’m still waiting for Guardians Vol 3 to completely blow it out of the water.

My not so positive review of Thor : Love and Thunder
!!Thor Love and Thunders Spoilers under the cut!!
Seeing all the reviews and opinions about the movie, I’m surely going to lose many followers or get hate after posting that review but this blog is my safe place so I’d like to share my opinion and slight rant, even if no one asked for it.
Yes, I was disappointed by Thor: Love and Thunder (Hate me if you must, I’d honestly prefer if you just ignored or unfollow me instead)
Yes, I know it’s not supposed to be a cinematic masterpiece.
But everyone has their own tastes and here are mines:
I was somehow expecting a movie close to “Ragnarok”, with Taika’s humor and queer representation, which I had the pleasure to witness (please I want to see Korg and Dwayne’s baby ASAP and more of Valkyrie kissing women’s hands!).
I feel like Taika offered a new perspective to Thor’s character. We first had a really proud guy, who took himself way too seriously, which sometimes was kind of annoying, to be honest. And now we have that himbo of a god, who’s strong, funny, relatively stupid also a huge teddy bear. I think this is one of the best marvel’s character development we had.
But I felt like some scenes were really long and lacking interest I also found the plot to be really easy, even too much sometimes. But again, this is my opinion.
Also, no, I don’t particularly like Jane Foster, sure she was badass in the fight scenes, but I thought she just appeared out of nowhere and then disappeared again (Hate me if you must x2)
So yeah, I’ve laughed at the jokes, I greatly appreciated the queer representation, I’ve even seen Chris Hemsworth’s butt, what is there not to like... But I’m still disappointed.
So to all the people who I’ve seen shit talking people who were giving not good reviews about the movie. I’d like to remind you that everyone has different tastes, it’s not because we are all fan of the same fandom that we’re supposed to adore all movies. But it doesn’t change anything about my appreciation of Thor or his side characters, the movie inspired me some cool fanfic ideas but I just wanted to be openly honest with my followers.

Thor: Love and Thunder Movie Review
After redeeming himself in Avengers: Endgame, Thor searches for peace and meaning and his quest leads him to the path of Gorr: the God Butcher, who wants to wipe out all the gods from existence. When Taika Waititi helmed Thor: Ragnarok, he changed the franchise by giving us a movie that appeared light-hearted but masked a dark movie with a lot of pain coupled with compelling stories for all…

[ID: A 4 star review of "Thor: Love and Thunder" by ankle-beez on Letterboxd that reads, "feels like this is gonna be the mcu entry I'll die defending. It's big, it's dorky, it's very funny, and it's got the most effective emotional core out of any mcu movie since maybe guardians 2. id happily watch this one again, and I'll happily take another Thor movie as good as this one."]
