Save this to activate your core at the beginning of your workout! What are the reasons that elongating your exhalation in conjunction with core work is beneficial? 1. Motor control: longer exhales have been shown to improve motor control, which can decrease the risk of injury due to higher levels of focus during movements. 2. Core strength: the act of controlling a slow exhalation, increases activity of the obliques and transversus abdominis, both of which are injury preventative. 3. Lung capacity: controlled breathing also strengthens the diaphragm, which can improve your lung capacity. Lung capacity has been linked with longevity, so this is a core exercises that can increase your lifespan. DM or comment below HYPOXIX for $125 off my breath-work and exercise platform, where you will receive all of these benefits! Posted @withregram • @dr.kellyvincent Yesterday, we chatted about potential signs of our sympathetic nervous system being activated. Remember, this part of our nervous system mobilizes us into action, our 🚨 fight/flight/freeze response. If there isn’t a real threat, and we do not need the mobilization of our protective mechanisms, then we need to recruit our parasympathetic nervous system (rest/digest), 🧘🏻‍♀️which is the part of our nervous system that calms us down or helps us recalibrate back to homeostasis. 👉🏼The vagus nerve has been described as the most influential nerve in our parasympathetic nervous system. It functions like your body’s natural reset button. Learning how to stimulate your vagus nerve allows you to get ignite a sense of calm and relaxation. Vagus means wandering in Latin. It is the longest nerve in the body and it influences heart rate, respiration, and digestion. 😲 👉🏼The tone of the vagus nerve is significant to the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system. Heart rate variability is a way to measure vagal tone. For example, as you 😮‍💨 breathe in, your heart-rate speeds up a little. As you breathe out, it slows down a little. The higher your vagal tone, the greater the difference between your inhalation heart-rate and your exhalation heart-rate. The higher the tone, the more efficient you are at relaxing. Higher vagal tone is associated with better general health. When you are feeling activated and interested to recalibrate your system, 👆🏼 above are a few ideas to activate the parasympathetic nervous system + toning the vagus nerve. 🙋🏻‍♀️ What strategy speaks to you the most? . . . . The vagus nerve is connected to your vocal cords and the muscles at the back of your throat. Singing, humming, chanting, gargling and deep breathing can activate these muscles and stimulate your vagus nerve, which shifts your metabolism from fat storage to fat burning and quickly moves you out of the stress state. 💥 Taking about 6 breaths over the course of a minute is a great way to relieve stress. You should breathe in deeply from your diaphragm. When you do this, your stomach should expand outward. Your exhale should be long and slow. This is key to stimulating the vagus nerve and reaching a state of relaxation. #vagusnerve #breathingexercises #breathing #deepbreathing #stressmanagement #stressrelief #relaxation #metabolism #fatburning #singing #humming #gargling #chanting #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #heakthandwellness #milsteinwellness #holistichealth #holisticliving #vagusnervestimulation https://www.instagram.com/p/CEWXeR0g3yl/?igshid=ryi7hlb4j41n

We did our first Bondi Junction Supercharged Meditation class on Saturday, and we loved every minute of it. Everyone left calm and focused with a nervous system that works better than it did when they arrived. Sorry to everyone that wasn’t able to get a ticket, we can’t make the classes bigger than 10, although we have now added in a Monday 7pm class so we have two classes a week. Message me if you have any questions. @recuperate_health @vagus.meditation . . . . . #mindfulness #meditation #meditationclass #meditationteacher #nervoussystem #parasympathetic #fightorflight #fightandflight #vagusnerve #vagusnervestimulation #superchargedmeditation #vagusmeditation #beyourbest #emotionalintelligence #goodvibes #health #highperformance #learnandgrow #livewell #meditation🙏 #meditationroom #mentalhealthawareness #mindfulness #motivation #positivevibes #spirituality #wellbeingjourney #procastination #insight (at Heart Space Manor Urban Retreat) https://www.instagram.com/p/B88KL9PAyV_/?igshid=nfvc8yv7toqw

Here’s Everything You Need to Know about Vagus Nerve Stimulators
Vagus nerve stimulation is a medical procedure used to deliver electrical impulses to the vagus nerve for the management and treatment of various types of diseases such as epilepsy and depression. Epilepsy is a chronic non-communicable disease of the brain that affects more than 50 million people worldwide. Moreover, it is estimated that around 1.2% of people in the U.S. have active epilepsy, as well as 500,000 people in the U.K. have epilepsy. That's about one in every 100 people. Moreover, the effect of COVID-19 and quarantine isolation on the course of epilepsy is still unclear. To manage epilepsy during the pandemic, three Italian Epilepsy Centers set up a telephone consultation to collect data on seizure course.
Vagus nerve stimulation works by delivering mild electrical impulses to the central nervous system through the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve also called the brain's communication wire, connects the brain to all of the organs, muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the body. Vagus nerve stimulation is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that has proven to be effective for many types of patients. Vagus nerve stimulators are classified into two types such as implantable and external devices. Implantable devices are surgically implanted inside the body, whereas External devices are less-invasive, non-surgical vagus nerve stimulators.

The vagus nerve is one of 12 pairs of cranial nerves that originate in the brain and is part of the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary body functions. . The nerve passes through the neck as it travels between the chest and abdomen and the lower part of the brain.  . The vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body.It connects your brain to many important organs throughout the body, including the gut (intestines, stomach), heart and lungs . The vagus nerve is also a key part of your parasympathetic “rest and digest” nervous system. It influences your breathing, digestive function and heart rate, all of which can have a huge impact on your mental health. . Have you ever experienced stomatch ache because of anxious situations this also helps in it. Because vagas nerve connects brain and gut. . I used to get seizures this pandemic. Mum used to help me by doing this. And mum has Goiter, and sometimes she's breathless. Surprisingly one day she was so restless and i was doing all the try and error i could do. Black coffee, pranayam but nothing was working then i helped her with this process and in minutes she was asleep. Trust me this is the best thing when you get anxious and nothing works! Add the massage shown in previous post with this one! . Also, this is NOT A CURE FOR MENTAL DISORDERS. This is just a coping technique. You should always see a DOCTOR. And not just rely on this. Like when you have a viral you go to a doctor but mumma gives you a homemade nice tea or soup, you feel good and it helps. It's the same way here. . #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #selfcare #anxietysupport #selflove #depression #health #motivation #wellness #inspiration #therapy #mindfulness #mentalhealthsupport #recovery #healing #loveyourself #meditation #happiness #positivevibes #growth #mentalhealthmatters #positivity #ptsd #goals #vagusnerve #mhblogger #mentalhealthadvocate #vagusnervestimulation #vagusnerve #anxietybirds (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEZaWSjpEOb/?igshid=tcgqt9h35tyr
