TW: parental neglect, bullying, forced engagement and running away from home

Before being brought to Neverland, she was originally from 16th century Scotland as the third daughter out of two other girls and three boys of nobles in Scottish court.

Of course she got everything she wanted growing up but Vanellope was the black sheep of the family for not wanting to serve the royal family and instead become a tailor without any status as to not have as much responsibility that came with the job her family wanted for her.

Her siblings bullied her for this dream, saying she would never amount to much unless she got a position as a lady in waiting to one of the princesses at the time.

Vanellope never actually listened to them but it still stung to hear her own siblings saying that about her.

As time went on, Vanellope just faded in the background but still thrived hard for her dreams up until her eighteenth birthday.

Vanellope's parents were suddenly paying attention to her a few days leading to you and she had her suspicions about why but brushed them off.

It was when her birthday party came to an end she realized that her parents arranged for her to marry a Duke in a bid to elevate her status.

Vanellope was furious and ran away from home in her fit of rage.

She passed out in the middle of the woods because of exhaustion and woke up on Neverland the next day.

At first Vanellope was confused and scared, wanting to go back home to Scotland.

But as the days passed, she settled down and adjusted to the island.

Now Vanellope has been on Neverland for 200 years and most of her memories of her past life are long gone.

She still feels uncomfortable in her position in her family just like before but for the most part, Vanollepe finds increasingly creative ways to get away from her duties as a princess.

I got this book for .50 cents and I am obligated to share the different characterizations and dialogues from it to the movie. Spoilers: A lot of King Candy pages<3

The introduction for King Candy is basically the same up until Ralph burst in. “Heavens to unleavened bread” honestly make me cackle, Turbo could not swear in this game 💀 Also Vanollepe throwing candy in Ralph’s eyes give me Mabel attack glitter energy.

Interrogation scene.

“Tough taffy” help-

Turbo flashback was just one page and of course speedran through for the sake of the book. Pretty much the same.

King Candy’s manipulation tactics are shown a bit more, full on gaslighting💀

More talkative with threats until he was eaten by a cybug. “Game jumper” oh he’s one to talk.

The King CandyBug ‘fight’ lasted like 3 lines so not much there, but his demise definitely is different. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t this what was planned in the story board? I’m probably remembering wrong, but yeah RIP.

Guess who I went to see 🍬💞

Me and my girlfriend went on a Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream specifically to go see this shop and the statue. Absolute worth the 6-8 hour flights.

Aside from the usual flavors and desserts, they had cute little Ralph and Vanollepe cupcakes, of course.

You could chose 3 flavors and 3 toppings for your take-home race kart souvenir to eat and keep. It was sugary and sweet but not enough to where you feel like you’re eating a unicorn’s breakfast (looking at you, Pusheen cereal. I got so excited and happy choosing each and the worker who was preparing it was so nice and smiled seeing my excitement, so overall 9/10!

And Ralph’s Family Challenge (which my gf and I somehow finished), also a get to take home souvenir. You could chose 5 flavors and 5 toppings as well.

Definitely going back one day!

The reason Cybug!King Candy is legitimately terrifying in cybug form is that on paper it sounds so silly that he just gets eaten by a giant bug and they could of just made his fate ‘lol he got turned into a bug’ but instead gave him a monstrous body with ‘upgrades’ like candy claws, sharp teeth, zagged patterns on his face that lowkey look like blood, and terrifying jittering animation,

the fact that he didn’t just take it, he fully embraced his new form, seemingly lost his mind and quickly took full control of his new wings and body to roll up and attack with full intent to kill Ralph and Vanollepe while holding the former hostage hundreds of feet in the air-

That’s what made him a threat.
