I do like businessman Hua Cheng, but after thinking about it for a while, I think my favourite coffee shop AU hualian is with Hua Cheng being an utter mess of a person. Like, dropped out of school, spent the last five nights at a bus station kind of mess.

He hasn't washed his hair or changed his clothes in weeks and he'd rather perish than take He Xuan up on his awkward offer to sleep on his couch. The days are getting cold. Normally, he wouldn't spend what little money he has on coffee, but well.

There's a café near his bus station. It has cosy lights and the prettiest waiter Hua Cheng has ever seen. He knows he'll probably get thrown out, but he goes inside anyway, just to warm up for a moment, he tells himself.

Xie Lian has watched the young man for days now. He never comes inside the café, but he walks past it sometimes. He looks... sad, is the best Xie Lian can come up with. A little neglected. No drive in his gait.

He has been fighting the urge to invite him in for just as many days. Or at least run outside and press a hot coffee into his hands. But in the end, he has always felt too awkward to actually do it.

When Hua Cheng enters the café, he sees two of the employees freeze, obviously hesitant about allowing him inside. He knows he doesn't only look like he has no money, he also looks dangerous. Inspiring more fear than pity.

He's about to leave. Then, another employee, the pretty one, is suddenly hurrying towards him, ushering him to a table. Xie Lian is a flurry of blankets and hot, suspiciously cheap drinks and an endless onslaught of words.

Xie Lian knows he's too much and much too overwhelming but, after the first tense second, the man stops looking like he wants to run away and settles under the two blankets Xie Lian threw over him instead.

Xie Lian comes to talk to him every free moment he has between serving other guests and, at the end of his shift, Hua Cheng is calling him gege and softly teasing him.

They go from there.

Why is this one classroom always so freakin cold?!

I have two classes in this building, one after the other, and it's cold in both (which says its probably just the building in general), but the second one is absolutely freezing.
