(‘tis the damn season)
take walks in the cold and snow, dress exclusively in turtlenecks and wool, Goethe, Dostoevsky etc., candles burning always, learn Russian and Latin, black tea or mulled wine, admire Christmas lights whilst contemplating the origins of the holidays, remember ancestors, take a train to the browning countryside, sketch skeletal trees and smoking chimneys, hold cosy poetry readings with your close-knit friends, practice shadow work as you take root for the colder months, be gentle on yourself and others, imitate dragons as your breath plumes, find a mythology and bury yourself in it, Dead Poets Society, porridge with cinnamon and clove, hope.
