The way that exclusionists treat ace and aro people often reminds me of how the average person would treat me when I started being open as non-binary. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times, we are not enemies. Our experiences do not oppose each other, they are intertwined. If you’re ace, if you’re aromantic, if you’re any variation thereupon; your home is here. You belong here, too. You are beautiful, and powerful; and you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. You are a valued part of this community.

Dear fellow neurodivergent people:
You are not lazy or selfish for having trouble getting things done because of executive dysfunction
You are not a bad person because you accidentally offend people sometimes because you have trouble with social skills
You are not a burden, you are worth as much as everyone else and you deserve to be around people who respect you and treat you well
It's okay if you have trouble with things that are easy for other people, and you're not lying or making things up if you say you have trouble with something "easy" even though you're good at "harder things"
You deserve to be comfortable and happy, and you're not being unreasonable by asking people to accommodate your sensory needs
You know what you experience better than anyone else, and you don't have to listen to people who tell you you must be lying or don't believe you when you say you can't do something or are bothered/hurt by something
Your special interests and hyperfixations are awesome, not "cringy," no matter what they are
You know yourself and your experiences better than anyone else. Don't let neurotypicals confuse you or make you feel bad because they don't understand. You can have uneven skills, specific interests in niche topics, different sensory needs, etcetera. Those things are real neurodivergent experiences. And you don't deserve to be made fun of or treated badly for those experiences or for anything else.

AroAce Toph for ace week
[ID: A watercolor painting of Toph holding an aroace flag. Toph is wearing her usual earth kingdom attire from the comics. She’s holding her left fist in the air and her right hand is holding a flagpole. Her left foot is facing the viewer, her right one is to the side resting on a pile of rocks. Toph is looking straight at the viewer and smiling. Flag is made out of (from the top) light orange strip, yellow, white, blue, dark blue stripes it flows over Toph. End ID]

My favorite is the look on people's faces when at the end of the convetation I say one thing that reveals the truth.
To all my quiet introvert observant folks: how does it feel to hold so much power against people?

Beacuase I live with people who all believe differently than me politically, I hate election season. I just caved beacuase one of them kept pesstering me about it, and said who I voted for. They tried to kerp the conversation going after they insulted that choice. It was extremely unconfortable and thankfully I came up with an excuse to get out of it.
So, I just want to tell everyone that while you do have the responsibilty to vote, you don't have the responsibity to tell others who and why.

The autistic community has to be accepting of people who have difficulty communicating. We have to accept people who communicate in ways that can be difficult to understand. We have to accept people who have difficulty understanding other people. We have to accept people who struggle with more with communicating when they are experiencing strong emotions. We have to accept people who can’t recognise jokes or sarcasm. We have to accept people who don’t know how to step away from a conversation that it is distressing them. We have to accept people who can’t tell if people are attacking them or not and sometimes jump to the wrong conclusion. We have to accept people whose communication is affected by being autistic.
The autistic community cannot become a community of people who can communicate in suitably neurotypical ways.

We are afraid of religion because it interprets rather than just observes. Religion does not confirm that there are hungry people in the world; it interprets the hungry to be our brethren whom we have allowed to starve.

You are not entitled to children. You are especially not entitled to a designer baby.
Destroy the idea that it’s okay to abort a fetus for the sole reason that a prenatal test says they’ll be a disabled baby.

Some people never will come to that place, and they should not be told that is a bad thing or that they should not speak in our community. I find myself, and probably other autistic as well, being proud to be autistic without being able to do so with anyone else or with certain people. I kind of compair it to being queer, but inside the closet.
Reminder: Saying “I’m proud to be autistic” doesn’t mean “Autism doesn’t affect me”. So many people have had to battle years of hatred and difficulties before being able to see their autism in a more positive light
