no, hear me out. kevin knew who neil was. he recognized neil from his file. he remembered the ten year old boy running just as fast as him, even though he was way smaller. he remembered the little kid playing like everything was about to disappear. he knew who neil was, and he saw an opportunity to take down riko. kevin was tired of being called a coward, he was tired of being put down because he left the ravens. he wanted neil to help them, and they won. we also need to remember that kevin probably was focusing on exy and didn't really think about the consequences for neil but when he did (aka the scene after the fall banquet) he begged neil to run, knowing that it would end their season, knowing that riko was going to drag kevin back to evermore. he knew, and he still begged for neil to go.
