fellow dsmp fans, I have a question!!!

so ive been wanting to write a fantasy novel based on the dream smp for a while (if i published it, i would change the names of all the characters etc), and since the passing of Technoblade, i've been thinking of actually writing and self-publishing the novel and donating a large portion of the proceeds to cancer research

i was wondering if anyone knew if this would be against any creator boundaries? once again, i'd change the names, and there would be no romantic shipping between characters - it would just be a fantasy novel based on the characters of the dream smp.

what do you think? also, would you read it?

Anon: BERRY!!! What if you did a story with Wilbur where the reader meets him as ghostbur and they fall in love despite not being soulmates but then phil brings Wilbur back and Wilbur and the reader realize that they are soulmates but he doesn’t remember them

I HAVEN'T POSTED IN SO LONG BUT I'M DETERMINED TO FINISH ALL MY DRAFTS

Summary: To live the same lifetime as your soulmate would be awfully lucky.

Ghostbur came into your life like a tropical storm; wild, untamable, and yet you found yourself wanting to dance in the rain.

He was sweet and kind and everything you'd ever wanted for yourself. He was the kind of man your parents would've loved to see you fall in love with. Every moment spent with him was like a fairytale.

And yet, there were two minor issues.

One: he was, well, a ghost. That wasn't exactly a huge issue, except for the fact that he was, well, dead. You hadn't known him as a human, with a beating heart and skin you couldn't look through. It didn't really bother you, not really.

But then came the second problem; you weren't soulmates.

You'd always been told that when you meet your soulmate, you'll just know. That you'll feel a surge of emotions bigger than any tidal wave you could imagine. But that wasn't how you felt with Ghostbur. Living life with him by your side was easy and right, but there was something missing.

And then, he disappeared.

You spent days looking for him through every enchantment and potion you knew. Nothing, not even an enchanted compass, could lead you to him. You asked friends and family to help you in your quest, which they'd agreed to initially, but eventually it was just you. You, and the memory of a ghost boy that everyone else had seemed to forget. Tommy and Tubbo didn't like speaking about him. Techno was a recluse, and Phil seemed to never be home. It was lonely; living without your best friend.

It took months for you to move on. You considered moving away, far away from the Dream SMP. Perhaps somewhere cold like Phil and Techno, or somewhere warmer. You'd heard Kinoko Kingdom, a kingdom far away, was happy to open its doors to anyone who needed it. And so, one morning, you decided to pack up your belongings and leave.

You didn't expect to find Phil at your door. Nor did you expect to see Ghostbur.

He was different. Not translucent. He looked real. And suddenly, the tidal wave hit. It was like a tsunami in your heart; waves of emotions crashing against your chest over and over, because not only was this your soulmate, but this was your best friend.

"Y/N," Phil began sheepishly, yet with a grin he couldn't suppress, "Meet Wilbur."

"Wilbur," you tried the name out on your lips. It was new, yet somehow familiar.

"Y/N?" Wilbur spoke, an unfamiliarity in his eyes, "Have we... Have we met?"

Your soulmate wasn't a ghost. Your soulmate was this man, and you were ready to get to know him all over again.

hello 🗝 anon; thank you for checking in!!!

it’s been a long time since i’ve posted on this account. to be honest, since the dream smp stopped pushing fantasy lore, i’ve been more focused on other fandom projects.

HOWEVER

I’ve recently found a draft of a book (yes, book) i started to write inspired by the Dream SMP lore. I’m tempted to continue it, and finish it, and post it on AO3. however, i’m not sure if there would be much interest in reading this.

mcyt twitter really did a number on me; i don’t interact with it a lot but i see it on my feed a LOT, and some things said in the fandom made me think a lot about peoples approach to fanfiction, so I’m probably going to write a few posts about that.

Summary: You were a fool in love for a man that learnt what love was too late.

You were a fool in love.

You'd met Dream not long ago, but the man had stolen your heart immediately (alongside most other things in the SMP, to be honest). You were his precious little secret; the one thing no one would ever dare touch.

And when he got himself imprisoned, Sam was no fool in not letting you visit. No, you were allowed one visit per week, if you decided to take it.

It was hard to see him like this; locked in a cell with no way out. He was strong; he'd be able to make it through. But you? You just wished there was another way; that you'd be able to live a normal, happy life with your boyfriend far far away from the chaos he'd put onto himself.

“I wish we could have met before you convinced yourself this was the only way,” you whispered quietly to him through the obsidian, your hushed secrets held by the few fleeting moments that hung between the two of you.

Dream shook his head, mask wonky and cracked. His hand barely brushed your fingers as he chuckled wetly, "You don’t have the whole story.”

You scoffed, rolling your eyes as you heard Sam's approaching footsteps, “Which is?”

But Dream just looked at you, ignoring Sam's calls telling you your time together was up. Instead, he whispered the one thing that no one could ever take away from him.

“I love you.”

Okay my brain has blessed (cursed?) me with several thoughts/ideas that are pretty incomplete but have a general vibe like (all with fem reader but can be gn if you’re more comfortable with that)

Dream x Reader where reader is visiting him in prison and says “I wish we could have met before you convinced yourself this was the only way” or “you don’t have the whole story” “which is?” “I love you”

Or maybe Techno x Reader with the vibe “And oh how the stars seemed to weep, for he had lost the only one he had ever loved, and someone would have to pay the price” or “he’d do anything you ask him to, you know that?” “Yeah” “then why don’t you? If you asked for the world, I’m sure he’d find a way to give it to you, so why haven’t you?” “He’s not a tool. And besides, I don’t want the world. All I want is him.”

Summary: Your boyfriend was not a tool.

It was a normal evening in Pogtopia.

You were sat on one of the many edges of the ravine, legs dangling off the side as you watched your boyfriend animatedly arguing with Tommy below you. Wilbur was at your side, eyes glued to the pink-haired man he called a brother.

“He’d do anything you ask him to, you know that?”

You blinked hazily, turning to look at Wilbur. It took a few moments for you to register his words, but you simply chuckled, shaking your head.

“Yeah, I know," you admitted, fingers playing with the golden band around your wrist; what Techno had given you all those months ago when he'd finally plucked up the courage to tell you his feelings.

“Then why don’t you?" Wilbur asked, an edge to his voice that you weren't sure you liked, "If you asked for the world, I’m sure he’d find a way to give it to you, so why haven’t you?”

You knew Wilbur wasn't exactly himself these days. He didn't mean to come off so blunt, you were sure. But you stood your ground, eyes sharp and bright and so, so in love.

“He’s not a tool," you snapped, eyes so sharp they silenced Wilbur immediately. You turned back to look down at Techno, who was looking back at you with a small smile on his face, one of the ones that was reserved for you and you only.

You felt your heart soften at the sight of him, fingers still playing with the golden band as you breathed out, "And besides, I don’t want the world. All I want is him.”
