Even  Captain Rex x Jedi! Reader
Tumblr media
Part 1 of 2 (I think…we’ll see.)
Captain Rex x Jedi! Reader
Summary: You’re a Jedi, you aren’t supposed to harbor romantic feelings. But when you meet a certain Clone Captain, something feels different.
Pronouns: Gender neutral.
Warnings: Reader in the Med Bay, Nothing really graphic but I like to be thorough.
_____________________________________________________________
“Hang in there, General. You’re going to be fine.”
The medbay, as usual, was cold, despite this planet’s hot and humid atmosphere. The swirling memories of your rescue last night came and went even as you sat there.
“We’re reinforcements from General Skywalker. The battle is over.”
“What’s his name?” You asked Ahsoka, eyeing the Clone Captain as you did so.
“That’s Captain Rex, Master.” Asoka responded quickly. She was such an energetic young Padawan, perfect for Skywalker.
“Ah, yes,” you responded, watching as he checked on various wounded troopers, “Thank you. He’s the one who carried me out of there.”
“He’s a good soldier.” the padawan responded, then, at a call from her Master, ran over to Skywalker. You were going to get up to join her, but the cold hand of the medical droid reminded you that you were in no condition to move. You reluctantly stayed put, looking out over the clones, trying to count all of your men.
You knew some of them were gone, and you took a moment to meditate on their passing and honor their newfound place in the force. There would be more time to mourn them later, but for now you let the moment come and go before reopening your eyes.
“General.” You turned to see your own clone commander, Recall, being held up by a quickly made crutch.
“Glad to see you made it out better than me, Commander.” you sighed, a smile tugging at your lips for the first time in the day, “It’s good to see you, Recall.”
“And you too, Sir.” he said, “Are you...feeling alright, Sir?”
“I’ll be fine.” You said, “I’ll need a full report as soon as possible on the state of the company.”
“My men are already on it.” That voice you’d know anywhere.
“Thank you, Master Skywalker.” you said. He smiled in that kind way of his. “We were in a rough spot there.”
“Yeah you were.” he said, then, sensing your grief added, “You did what you could, and you fought well.”
That was high praise from him.
“Thanks.”
“I’m having my clones in the 501st check on your men.” He added, “I figured it would give your boys a break.”
“Thank you.” You smiled…”Again.”
He nodded. “I’ll have Captain Rex give you a report when they’re finished.”
For a moment you felt off balance. It was an unfamiliar sensation.
“Very good.” you laid back down, glad to have things taken care of, “I’ll likely still be in this bed, so he should have no trouble finding me.”
A beep from the medical droid confirmed your suspicion and you sighed.
Anakin nodded, then pulled out his holocom.
“And now for the bad news,” he sighed, “ I’m technically supposed to be on the other side of the planet right now. We’ll have to report to the council.”
You winced slightly at the thought. “I suppose so.”
One boring meeting with the council later, you were still in the medbay, trying your best to meditate.
Why were you so off balance? You’d been in compromising scrapes before. This wasn’t your first trip to a medical bay by any means, so what made this different? You always felt the weight of responsibility for your men when these things happened and while that feeling was still there, something else was gnawing at you.
As if in answer to your wonderings a firm voice pulled you from your thoughts.
“General.”
You opened your eyes to see the same Clone Captain from earlier. Captain Rex.
“Ah, Captain,” you said, propping yourself up, “I assume you’re hear for that report.”
“Correct, sir.” He said. You paid close attention as he gave you a run down of the conditions of your troops. Fewer had been lost than you expected, and though many were injured, Skywalker’s aid arrived just in time to prevent the worst. You sighed in relief.
“We’ve managed to hold our position here.” Rex said, “And will continue to aid on this front as your forces recover.”
“Good news.” You said, “Thank you, Captain.”
“Sir.” He nodded, turning to leave, but you called him back.
“Rex,” he seemed a bit surprised at hearing his name, “Captain. I also wanted to thank you for getting me out of there. I probably wouldn’t even still be here if it weren’t for you.”
“Just doing my job, Sir.” He said, but you noticed a fluctuation in his emotions as he did so. You smiled softly.
“Regardless, I’m appreciative none the less. I…” You paused unexpectedly as the words caught in your throat, “I’m excited to continue working with you. Once I’m out of this medbay that is.”
He gave you a small smile and nodded, returning to his own General.
You watched him go, then sighed and went back to meditating.
A few weeks later, you were back on your feet. The damage was bad, and you still felt sore at times, but the medics assured Recall that you were recovered enough to fight again.
“Honestly, Commander,” You smiled, “You worry about me too much.”
“Because you don’t worry enough.” Recall sighed, “I hardly understand how Rex deals with his Jedi.”
You let out an amused breath at that. The Captain came to visit you a few times during your recovery, always under the guise of giving you updates. While he always had information about the ongoing fight, you’re conversations grew longer as he warmed up to you. You were glad for the company. The medbay wasn’t exactly the most stimulating of experiences.
“He’s an interesting one.” You agreed, “I like him.”
“Oh you like him, do you?” Recall nudged you a bit and you rolled your eyes. You’d grown used to the teasing from him. He’d been your Commander since your first campaign and Recall had the uncanny ability to read your emotions.
“You’re the worst.” You said, “And as soon as you get a crush on someone, I plan on showing no mercy.”
“Ah, so you do like him.” He said, “Looks like Quickshot owes me some credits.”
“You were betting on it?”
He shrugged, “Why not? Not much to do with so many of us in recovery.”
You groaned a bit at the thought. You loved your troopers, but it really was like having a few hundred brothers.
“Have I been so obvious?” you asked seriously. You always could confide in Recall, and it was about time you were honest with yourself, “Am I a bad Jedi?”
“I don’t think so, Sir.” Recall said. He put a hand on your shoulder and you sighed a bit.
“We’re not supposed to have these feelings.” You said, “Or at least, we’re supposed to acknowledge and then let them go. But…I don’t want to.”
He chuckled at that, “That bad, huh?”
Your shoulders sank.
“Look, General, I’m going to speak plainly. None of the men will care. All we care about is who you are as our general. Liking someone isn’t going to change that.”
“Thanks.” You said, “It’s nice to be able to talk about it.”
“Anytime, Sir.”
Before you could begin to focus on the map in front of you, Recall nudged you yet again. You looked up at him in annoyance but then followed his gaze. Rex was jogging towards you.
Immediately you felt your face heat up and hoped that no one noticed.
He greeted you formally and you put him at ease.
“Were’s General Skywalker?” You asked, not seeing him anywhere. Rex rubbed the back of his neck.
“He and Commander Tano decided to…make an improvised maneuver.”
You laughed. Of course they did.
“I see.” You said, “And I assume they’re wanting me to play along?”
“Yes, sir.”
You gave Recall a look. He was looking at you both with an expression that said, quite clearly, “Thank the Maker I’m not in the 501st”.
“So what’s the plan, Captain?” You asked, “Where’d they go to anyway?”
He pulled up a new section of the map, pointing to a ridge next to the separatist base.
“They plan to cause a rockslide, cutting off the base from it’s main supply lines.”
“A siege doesn’t strike me as that unorthodox.” You noted, “Not really Skywalker’s style.”
“Right, General.” Rex agreed, pulling up another point on the map. He focused in on the rear gates of the complex, “They’re planning to lead an assault team through here after the initial rockslide.”
“And they didn’t bring you because…”
“They want you and I to perform a similar operation from the other side.” He said.
“That’s a suicide mission!” Recall said, clearly still concerned about your injuries.
“Skywalker is unorthodox, Recall.” You said, holding up a hand, “But he’s not stupid. There’s something about this we’re not seeing.”
Rex looked relieved for a moment, glad you were willing to give his General the benefit of the doubt.
“Right, well, this morning we received intel that a large section of the base’s troops were on the move. There are a few outpost stations in the surrounding area, but they all have to go through that one pass.”
“No ships?” You asked.
“Too obvious.” He said, “They probably don’t know that we’ve found their security outposts and would like to keep them a secret. Traveling on foot is the best way to avoid detection.”
“I see.” You said, “So the base is under defended.”
“Yes sir.”
“Alright, Captain.” You said, “I’ll go with you and your team. Recall, I want you to get several teams together and take out those outposts. Don’t want them calling for help.”
“Yes, sir!” they both said. You took note of how, even though they were clones, their voices sounded ever so slightly different.
You watched them go, taking a deep breath and trying to ignore the fluttering in your chest.

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have ideas for another part. I have plans for a continuation set during Season 2-ish of Bad Batch, but I imagine some more clone wars shenanigans with Rex could be fun. I just would like ideas if you guys have any. Trying to find some inspiration.
Send requests! Message me to get on my tag lists.

Senate Party - Crosshair Ending
Link to Part 1
You looked at yourself in the mirror, admiring how this dress hugged your figure in all the right places. The slit ran to your upper thigh, and you shifted your hips to ensure it didn’t reveal anything more. The material had quite a bit of stretch, so it didn’t restrict your movement as you moved your arms around. The color was perfect, too. You really liked this one.
With another deep breath, you opened the door to the changing room, hoping for a good reaction. Everyone looked at you for a moment. You folded your arms, a little embarrassed.
“Is it too much?” You asked.
“I think you look great!” Omega said, “Do you like it?”
You breathed a sigh of relief, “Thanks, Omega. I do like it.”
“You look good.” Crosshair said.
You smiled at the compliment, “It’s the best so far, for sure.”
When you turned to look at yourself in the mirror again, you noticed his eyes on you and felt your face heat up. To distract yourself, you checked again that the slit remained in place. You’d be able to keep your weapons hidden. Another point in the dress’s favor.
--------------
Crosshair was more than aware of how he felt about you, but Maker, was he not ready to see you in that dress. He didn’t know what to say, but he knew he had to say something, especially with his brothers just as speechless.
“You look good.” Was the best he could manage and he mentally kicked himself, but you smiled at the compliment, which made him proud.
“It’s the best so far, for sure.”
Crosshair couldn’t help but agree. You really did look wonderful. The dress held onto you perfectly, accenting your natural elegance as it draped to the floor. He immediately took notice of the color. You seemed to wear that specific shade quite often when out of uniform. It was the same color he’d chosen to accent his suit.
You looked at yourself in the mirror. Normally he would have taken the opportunity to observe you from every angle, but your eyes caught his, and he worried you might be upset to see him staring too intently.
You came out in the rest of the dresses, beautiful as ever, but Crosshair couldn’t get that one out of his mind. You’d seemed so comfortable in it, and he’d be lying if he didn’t enjoy the revealing nature of the slit up the skirt.
As you stepped out of the dressing room, back in your armor, you held it triumphantly. He felt the corners of his mouth pull up into something just shy of a smirk. You were going to be stunning.
--------------
The next day Crosshair and Echo went to pick up the dresses and newly tailored suits. The party was that night, but fortunately, their superiors paid to rush the alterations.
“Welcome back!” Omega smiled as they walked through the door. She was in the middle of a game of Dejarik with Hunter and was clearly winning.
“We have all of them.” Crosshair said, beginning to lay them out on the table. He looked around, “Where’s y/n?”
Hunter looked up, glad for the distraction.
“She’s in the refresher.” He said, “Showering so she won’t have to at the hotel.”
Everyone else was sat nearby, but this was his best chance to ask without you overhearing.
Before he could, however, Hunter spoke.
“I’d like to pair you and y/n up for this mission, Crosshair.” Hunter gave Wrecker and Echo a look, but the Sargent only hesitated momentarily, “Echo and I will be with Omega, and Wrecker will go with Tech to get into the security system.”
“Any particular reason?” Crosshair asked.
“You and y/n work together all the time.” Hunter shrugged, returning to his hopeless game with Omega, “And your outfits match.”
“Plus you like her.” Omega smiled, making the other clones chuckle a bit. He shot the young girl a glare, but she’d refocused on taking another of Hunter’s pieces.
Crosshair looked to his other brothers, who were all still wearing small smiles. He sighed. No point in arguing if he’d gotten what he wanted.
He moved to the back of the ship to change into civilian clothes. Wrecker came in shortly after. You’d suggested leaving your armor on the ship rather than potentially attracting attention at the hotel.
“Are you okay?” Wrecker asked, “You seem more upset than usual.”
Crosshair raised an eyebrow at him before pulling on a shirt.
“If you’re worried about y/n, she already knows about the assignments.” He offered. He was trying to be helpful, but Crosshair wished he would be quieter, “She likes working with you.”
Crosshair sighed, “Thanks, Wrecker, but I’m fine.”
--------------
Crosshair turned away from the lifts. He kept feeling his eyes flick to the doors even when they weren’t opening. Despite what he’d told Wrecker, he could feel his stomach twist as the evening grew closer. The thought of spending this night with you, the fear of doing something to upset you, it all weighed heavily on him.
“Nervous?” Echo asked, “You’re tapping your foot, you know.”
Crosshair immediately stilled. He hadn’t even noticed it. For a moment, he considered his options, but decided to be honest with his brothers.
“I don’t want to ruin this night for her. Mission or not.”
To his relief, they didn’t tease him about it. Wrecker put a hand on his shoulder.
“She seemed pretty happy to be paired up with you,” he said.
“She has been quite cheerful since then.” Tech was still looking at his data pad.
Hunter nodded in agreement. “Besides, you look great. I’m sure she’ll be more than happy with how you clean up.”
Wrecker nudged him and Crosshair rolled his eyes, but he was thankful for the encouragement.
To be honest, they all cleaned up pretty well. You’d done a great job finding them all formalwear that fit their tastes. Crosshair found himself leaning on the side of more black but enjoyed the accents of color on his suit lapels that flowed in delicate lines. You’d found him a matching tie and socks that provided more accents of color. The same color as your dress.
You’d done so well helping all of them, and he admired you for that. You were always conscious of how the team felt, always wanting to help and make them comfortable.
“We’re here!” Omega called, running up to the group. You’d found some accessories for her as well. They complimented the sparkles of her dress.
Immediately Crosshair looked up to see you, and it hit him like a blaster bolt to the chest.
Seeing you in the dress yesterday did nothing to prepare him for how stunning you looked now. The dress flowed elegantly across the tile as you approached, accentuating how graceful you were. Your hairstyle and jewelry complimented the dress well without being overbearing. Crosshair didn’t often see you in makeup, but he enjoyed how you’d done it for this occasion.
The most important thing of all was your smile. Truly you looked beautiful, and it seemed that you felt beautiful too.
“You guys look great!” You said, snapping Crosshair out of his trance, “I’m sorry we’re the last ones ready.”
“Not to worry, we are still on schedule.” Tech finally looked up from his datapad, “Wrecker and I are supposed to leave first anyway.”
At that, Hunter gathered them together to give one final rundown of the mission. Crosshair was grateful for the opportunity to quiet his racing thoughts before being alone with you for hours.
--------------
A short wait and one quick cab ride later, you and Crosshair arrived at the gala building. It was even bigger than you thought, and a sea of well-dressed people were making their way up the front steps.
There were quite a few couples around. You looked again at how your dress matched the accents on Crosshair’s suit.
“What’s wrong?” He was perceptive as ever. It was something you liked about him.
“We match…” You said, still looking around at the other couples, “Do you think they think we’re a couple? Should we play into it?”
Crosshair didn’t say anything right away but eventually nodded.
He slipped his arm around your waist, pulling you into him.
“Is this okay?” He asked, voice low.
“Y-yeah.” You said, and he seemed to relax at your answer.
The droid at the front beeped approvingly when given your invitations and you were both let in. Even more people were inside, admiring art, eating, drinking, or dancing. The roar of a million conversations filled your ears, and you found yourself leaning into Crosshair even more.
“I guess we just keep a lookout for the target.” You said, looking around at the large area.
Crosshair was scanning the room too.
“I’d like to go upstairs.” He said, “Better vantage point.”
“That works for me.” You let him lead you toward the stairs.
As you walked, you saw Wrecker, who was eating while Tech was busy on his data pad. He gave you an encouraging thumbs up and you smiled back at him.
There was a bar on the second floor, along with a few more doors leading outside. Partygoers were happily chatting with each other at some tables nearby. Crosshair led you both to a balcony overlooking most of the first floor.
--------------------
“This is a good spot.” You said, leaning on the railing.
“I have experience.”
You chuckled at Crosshair’s joke, and he felt a smile pull at his lips. You always found his dry humor amusing, and he was grateful for that.
“Would you like a drink?” He asked, “We may be here for a while.”
“Sure.” You smiled, “I’ll keep an eye on the doors.”
Crosshair nodded and stepped away. Neither of you would be drinking alcohol on a mission, but with such a variety of guests and species here, that didn’t limit your options too much. He grabbed you something he’d seen you order before as well as something more bitter for himself.
The evening was going surprisingly well. He hadn’t expected you to be so comfortable with his arm around you, but he enjoyed the contact. He enjoyed feeling close to you.
As Crosshair returned, he noticed a taller man leering over you and felt his blood boil. Crosshair knew you could handle yourself, he’d seen you take down plenty of fools before, but you were clearly uncomfortable and annoyed with the distraction.
You saw him and your eyes brightened.
“Ah, there you are, my love!” You smiled. The sudden romantic term of endearment caught him by surprise. He pushed down whatever feelings bubbled up within him, smiling instead as he handed you your drink. You wrapped your arm around his in a loving way that made his heart beat faster.
“I’m sorry for taking so long, Mesh’la,” He said, “The line was a bit long. Who’s this?”
He turned his attention to the other man as if just noticing him.
“Ah, he was just offering to buy me a drink. I told him my boyfriend was already getting me one. I believe he was just leaving.”
“Um, yes…apologies.”
He shuffled away then, and you both watched him go.
“Finally.” You said, sounding exasperated, “He wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
Crosshair chuckled, sipping on his drink, “If he only knew who he was dealing with.”
“The only downside to being undercover.” You smiled.
“I’m surprised he’s the only one to ask to buy you a drink.” He said absentmindedly, beginning to scan the crowd for the target.
“Why’s that?”
Crosshair froze. He hadn’t really thought that one through. But he decided to be honest.
“You look beautiful. I’m sure anyone here would love to get your attention.”
He continued scanning the crowd, hoping you would think too much about the compliment.
---------------
You felt your face heat up at Crosshair’s words. If anything, you thought he was the one people would want attention from. He looked so handsome dressed up like this, his tall form seeming even more elegant in a suit.
Before you could say anything, Crosshair stiffened. His eyes were intense and focused. You recognized the reaction.
“You see him?”
He nodded.
“Where is he?”
“There,” Crosshair said, leaning over and pointing with his face close to yours, “Down next to the artwork.”
You saw the target and followed him as he walked near the art gallery.
Crosshair pressed a hand to his ear.
“Target spotted.”
Trying to cover the motion a bit, you leaned back into Crosshair as you pressed the button for your own comm. You laid your head on his chest.
“Hunter, if you’re still near the art gallery, he’s standing next to the main entrance.”
“I got it,” Hunter said.
“I see you. Do you need backup?” Crosshair asked.
“Negative, in pursuit with Wrecker.”
You then saw Wrecker round the corner and follow after Hunter.
You both relaxed a bit, knowing the situation was handled, but you soon realized your close proximity to the sniper and felt your heartbeat pick up again.
--------------
Crosshair couldn’t recall a time he had ever felt this flustered. Here you were, pressed into his chest with his arm around you. You looked up at him and Maker, your eyes were like a trap. He couldn’t look away.
“Look,” He said, “There’s something I need to tell you.”
How he could feel you tense made him nervous, but there was no going back.
“I’m not…good at this.” He sighed, grabbing your hands in both of his, “But I have feelings for you. Deep feelings. You’re capable and beautiful, and I don’t want to keep watching from the side. I’ve never felt like this about someone. I’m not sure how to do this.”
Your beautiful eyes got even wider. You seemed surprised and Crosshair braced himself for rejection.
“I know what you mean.” You squeezed his hands to reassure him, making everything else melt away, “You make me so flustered it’s like I can’t breathe. Crosshair, you’re capable, funny, and you care so much about the people you’re close with.”
You saw his eyes widen for a moment; then a small smile spread over his face. He tilted your chin and leaned down to place a quick kiss on your lips.
“Is this okay?” He asked, loving the way you smiled back at him.
“This is perfect.”

Senate Party - Tech Ending
Link to Part 1
You ran your fingers over the strange fabric of your favorite dress. The color changed as it moved, almost sparkling in your favorite shade. It really was beautiful.
Carefully, you slipped the dress on and looked at yourself in the mirror. It looked great on you. You turned a bit, noting how you liked the construction of the back and shoulders. Plus, there were pockets in the skirt and pretty roomy ones at that. Something you could work with.
Overall, the dress was interesting to look at, comfortable to wear, flattering on your body, and practical for a mission. For the second time you started to feel excited about the mission. The first came earlier that day having Tech try on suits. Being the “party expert” had its perks.
You took another moment and then opened to door to the changing room. Omega gasped and you laughed a bit.
“That good, then?” You asked, moving the skirt’s fabric again with your hand. You were surprised to see Tech’s holopad nowhere in sight. He’d been surprisingly attentive as you tried on dresses. He caught your eyes and you felt your cheeks heat up.
“Sort of reminds me of Tech’s vest,” Omega noted.
“Indeed,” He said, adjusting his goggles, “The material seems to be the same.”
You hadn’t really considered it before, but the pleasant illusion of the dress’s fabric was the same as a few elements of Tech’s outfit.
“I really like this one.”
“Well, if that’s the one, we’ll just pair you up with Tech.” Hunter said, “Since you’ll match.”
--------------
Tech felt his stomach tighten a bit when Hunter suggested pairing up with you. The implication was clear. Your matching outfits would make it seem that you two were a couple.
He gave you another look. Maker, you were beautiful and the dress was rising to the occasion of your looks. He imagined you on his arm for a moment, the knot in his stomach tightening further.
The “crush” Tech harbored for you was already severe. This was not helping matters.
“If Tech doesn’t mind.” You said and he snapped out of his thoughts.
“Of course not.” He said, “Whatever makes you most comfortable. You do look quite splendid in this dress, I think.”
You smiled at him and he nearly melted. How was it possible for one person to have such an effect on him?
He knew exactly how of course, but he’d never experienced it before. Not like this.
“Then I’d really like to get this one.” You said, “Meaning we are done!”
Everyone seemed quite relieved at your comment, ready to leave the shop behind and get back to the ship. Everyone except tech Tech. This mission had just become much more complicated.
--------------
“Are you alright?” Echo asked. He’d arrived back from getting everyone’s outfits with Crosshair a while ago and appeared to take notice of Tech's agitated state.
“I’m fine.” He said, choosing to ignore the feeling in his chest and focus on changing.
The two of them were the last to change into civilian clothes.
Earlier, you cleverly pointed out that the hotel wasn’t the best place to leave your armor and that wearing armor in would draw attention. Everyone agreed to instead wear civilian clothes to the hotel.
“Tech,” Echo said, “You’re more distracted than usual.”
Tech sighed. Echo already knew of his feelings for you, he might as well be forthcoming about this.
“Hunter paired me and Y/n together for this assignment.”
“I…thought that was a good thing?”
“It isn’t that I don’t want to spend time with her but…I fear I might do something to upset her while we are together. I don’t have much in the way of practical experience in this area.”
Echo, fortunately, didn’t laugh. He put a reassuring hand on Tech’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry about it too much.” He smiled, “Y/n likes being around you. You’ve been paired up for missions before, no need to worry now.”
“I suppose.” Tech sighed. It was difficult for him not to overthink things…
-----------
Tech was trying to distract himself with his holopad as they waited in the hotel lobby. You’d helpfully had the tailors add a large pocket to the inside of his suit jacket to keep it in while you were at the party. He always appreciated your foresight about small details like that.
His suit was comfortable, for which he was grateful. You found him a suit jacket accented with the same material as the vest he’d liked so much. Tech recalled you saying that the illusion fabric changed between some of your favorite colors, which made him like it all the more. You’d also found him a bow tie at some point with the same effect. You had placed it in his bag along with some cufflinks.
As he continued to distract himself by memorizing the history of the party location, Omega ran up to them.
He admired how you helped Omega find a suitable and functional outfit for the occasion. She was clearly excited.
Against better judgment, Tech snapped his head up quickly to see you walking towards them from the elevators.
Maker, you were enchanting.
The illusion fabric made up the entirety of your dress, almost sparkling as you walked. It made you look graceful, nearly ethereal as you moved across the tile. Tech took notice of the jewelry adorning your neck and wrists and the elegant styling of your hair. He didn’t often see you in makeup but found he quite liked how you’d accented your features and matched your dress for this occasion.
You were positively radiant. There was no other word for it. Your smile gave him hope that you felt as splendid as you truly were.
The knot in his stomach was back, and yet he welcomed it, trying to take Echo’s advice and simply enjoy your company.
“You all look great!” You smiled, having finally made it to the group, “Sorry we’re the last ones.”
“No need to worry,” Tech said automatically, “We’re still on schedule.”
He was glad to see you relax a bit at his words
Hunter took the opportunity to go over the mission parameters one last time before sending you off. You two would be the first to arrive so Tech would have more time to get into the security system.
-----------
The event was being held inside of a huge building in the heart of the city. You and Tech stepped out of your cab and handed your invites to a reception droid.
It beeped approvingly and you were let in.
Your heart was already beating fast. Tech looked so handsome dressed up like this and you were clearly dressed like his partner. You took a deep breath as you both continued inside.
“Tech,” You said, “Would you mind holding my hand?”
You held out a hand for him, watching his reaction carefully. His eyes widened slightly, but he finally nodded and took your hand.
“Good idea. There are already quite a few people here, and we do...look like we’re together.”
You gave his hand an encouraging squeeze.
“Well, where do we go?”
“I believe that I will be able to access the building’s security from the east side of the building, near where the dance floor is.”
You nodded, scoping out the area he described. There was an empty table.
“Perfect, follow me.”
------------
Tech could hardly believe the effect simply holding your hand was having on him. Warmth radiated from the point of contact and into his very core.
You were fortunately focused on leading him to a more ideal area to slice into security and likely didn’t notice how flustered he was. Tech was grateful for the opportunity to compose himself.
You found a small table near the dance floor and the band. It was also close to the wall, which meant Tech could sit there after gaining access to the building’s control panels.
“Very good.” He said, quickly placing a device into the wall and taking a seat beside you.
“Thank you.” You smiled, “Good thing we’re here early. Otherwise this table would have been taken.”
He nodded in agreement.
“I apologize that I’ll have to be so focused on this.” He said quickly, “We won’t be able to explore much.”
“That’s okay,” You said, “Though I do have one concern.”
Tech looked up with a raised eyebrow.
“Well if it looks like you’re ignoring me, that may draw some unwanted attention.”
“I see, because our matching outfits make us appear as a couple and my focus away from you would make me seem like a bad partner.”
“Yeah, something like that.”
“That could be a problem.” He agreed, “What do you suggest?”
He hoped that you didn’t want to leave him alone.
“Well, maybe I could get closer to you, if you’re comfortable with that.”
Closer? That was quite the opposite of his worry. So why did that seem to make him more nervous?
“Ah, yes that’s fine.”
He watched curiously as you picked up your chair and moved it so you were sitting right beside one another. You looked at him again and he nodded in approval.
Then you leaned on him, resting your head on his chest. Tech tried to keep his breathing steady. You were completely pressed against him and he almost automatically wrapped his free arm around you.
“Is this…comfortable for you?” Tech asked.
“Very.” You said, “What about you?”
“I think this is more than sufficient.”
You giggled and he relaxed some more.
“Great. This way it’ll look like we’re simply relaxing.”
“I see.” Tech said, “And if you’d like, you can observe the security systems as well.”
------------
Tech was warm, a nice feeling against the chill in the air around you. How they managed to climate control such a building, especially with so many people, was a mystery to you.
You were thankful for Tech’s focus on his datapad because you could swear you could hear your own heartbeat. Being this close to him, his arm wrapped around you, it was exciting.
But the more you thought about it, you realized that the beating you heard was only in one ear…the one pressed against Tech’s chest. Was he just as nervous as you were?
Just as you thought to say something Tech spoke.
“Hunter, Crosshair, I’ve spotted the target near the two of you. They are heading up the stairs now.”
“Copy that.”
You turned your attention onto the datapad and could see the two men moving across the screens.
“I’ll be notified if you trigger any alarms.”
“You worry too much.” Crosshair drawled. The line went silent again and you both relaxed a bit.
“That was surprisingly easy. It seems we’ll have the rest of the night to ourselves.” He said. You nodded, a bit disappointed that your night with Tech may be coming to a close soon.
Carefully, you sat up, stretching after resting in one place for so long. Tech sat his holopad on the table and looked at you. Did he look disappointed too?
Taking all your courage and a deep breath, you decided to be brave.
“Tech, I need to tell you something.”
-------------
Tech braced himself for potential rejection. Perhaps you were going to explain that your actions were purely for the mission. He wasn’t one to enjoy physical contact, but having you in his embrace felt…quite pleasant. The idea of not feeling that again wasn’t something he wanted to consider.
“I’ve had feelings for you for a long time. You’re smart, but sweet in that special way of yours. You get so passionate about your interests and…and please say something.”
Tech felt that knot in his stomach again. You were confessing…to him? Enchanting, wonderful you?
He grabbed your hands, “Y/n. I’ve been attracted to you since we met. I’ve harbored romantic feelings for nearly as long.”
You smiled back at him, squeezing his hands slightly and emboldening him to continue.
“You’re intelligent, clever, and so willing to listen to me even after others tire. You’re beautiful, both inside and outside.”
“I’m so glad you feel the same way.” You said.
“I’m relieved as well.”
You kept a hold on one of his hands as the two of you settled back into comfortable silence. Tech noticed you watching the dancers.
In a smooth motion he put away his datapad and stood. He extended a hand towards you.
“We still have time.” He said, “Would you do me the pleasure of a dance?”
You giggled a bit and stood. As you took his hand, he pressed his lips gently to your hand. He worried that it was too forward of him, but your smile and the joyful gleam in your eyes were reassuring.
It was equally reassuring when you quickly kissed his cheek as he led you onto the dance-floor.

Runaway
Ahsoka Tano x Reader
Summary: The reader has been helping out this new rebellion for almost two years now, giving them supplies from your farm, but when the Imperials catch on, a certain Togruta saves you.
Warnings: A bit of cannon-typical violence
---------------------------------------------------
“Hey! You can’t just barge into my home!” You yelled, gasping as one of the stormtroopers threw an armored shoulder into you. You stumbled back.
“Citizen, this residence is suspected of housing Rebels fighting against the Empire. You are being charged with aiding in an armed rebellion.”
“You can’t be serious!” You yelled, “There’s no one here but me!”
He didn’t say anything further and turned his attention back to your house. You thought through your options for a moment. You doubted they’d find anything inside your house, the Rebels did all their business in the barn where you left their food supplies. Occasionally they’d stay with you, but you typically asked them to sleep in the barn as you only had the one bed in your house.
Your hand twitched thinking about the rifle on your back. You had to keep it on you for protection. Plenty of dangerous wildlife out here, and you were usually all alone.
Of course, usually didn’t mean today. You shot a worried glance at the barn. A young Togruta woman was staying with you. Polite, helpful, and unlike a lot of the Rebels that came by, actually good for conversation. She was also quite pretty, though you tried to keep that thought buried down. You’d been aiding the rebels for about two years now and you weren’t about to run away with one today, no matter how fun thinking about it might be!
Though with the Imperials ransacking your home, maybe you’d be leaving regardless.
You heard something inside break and sighed. What else could you do? Hopefully Ahsoka had heard the commotion and left. She wasn’t here to get rations, spending long parts of her day away from the farm on a speeder she arrived with. Hopefully that meant she could pack up and leave without being spotted.
Almost as if in answer to your thoughts, you saw her sprinting behind your house and jumping into your bedroom window.
“Kriffing, dammit.” You cursed, pulling the rifle from your back in a hurry. You should have run away, take the opportunity to get to safety, but you couldn’t just leave her.
The troopers all but ignored you, one of them agitated about something. Ahsoka appeared in the front doorway.
You decided not to ask too many questions when you saw the lightsabers. Space Wizards were pretty rare these days.
She dispatched the stormtroopers quickly. For your part you shot down a few who were closer to you. One shot back and you ducked behind some of your farm equipment.
The sounds of fighting stopped pretty quickly considering the number of troopers.
“You can come out now.” Ahsoka called, “There aren’t any left.”
You poked your head out from your hiding space. A smile crossed Ahsoka’s face when she saw you. Why were you thinking about how warm her smile was now?
“Are you alright?”
“I’d ask you the same question.” you said, dusting yourself off and trying to be humorous, “Thought the Jedi were all dead, but you don’t look like a ghost to me.”
A look flashed over her face, one that made you worry you’d said the wrong thing.
Idiot! Thanks for saving me! Here’s a reminder of all your dead comrades!
But soon her look faded to a soft smile.
“Well your sense of humor appears to be intact.”
“Wish I could say the same for my house.”
The control panel for the door had been blasted apart and you could see the ransacked interior from outside. Blastermarks shone all over the outside.
“Sorry about that.” Ahsoka said, “They got past your perimeter sensors?”
“Guess so,” you sighed, “They weren’t that good anyway. Probably took a few minutes to disable at most.”
You went into the house. It looked about as bad as you’d imagined, but you’d resigned yourself to the possibility a long while ago. You didn’t have too much anyway.
“We probably shouldn’t stay.” Ahsoka stood in the doorway watching you. “Someone’s going to notice when they don’t check in. Especially if any of them were able to call back to command when I stepped in.”
You nodded solemnly, making your way into the bedroom and pushing the bet to the other wall.
“Shame.” you said, “I quite liked this farm.”
“Did it belong to your family?”
You chuckled, pulling away a panel from the floor. You’d put anything precious to you into the two bags underneath. Just in case.
“Nah, I bought the place when I was 16 to get away from another bad situation. Either I hid myself well or no one bothered to look for me.”
“That sounds difficult. Leaving your life behind.”
You turned, a bag slung over each shoulder along with your rifle and smiled, but it fell when you noticed her expression.
“We all leave something behind eventually.” You shrugged, hoping to make her feel better. Given what happened to the Jedi, you figured it would be bad to push the issue further. Even after a few years, the loss probably weighed heavily on her.
“I guess so.”
You took pause at her posture and put a hand on her shoulder.
“Hey, don’t worry about it.” you said gently, “Everything works out. Now do you have a way to get us out of here or what?”
“Right.” She straightened up a bit, “Follow me.”
You both walked outside to her speeder. She hopped on and you shuffled a bit.
“You coming?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You want me to sit behind you?”
“Sure, it’ll be fine.” she smiled, patting the extra room on the seat, “Just hold on.”
You sighed, attaching your bags to the back of the speeder before settling in behind Ahsoka.
“Hold on to what?” You wondered, looking around.
“Me.”
Suddenly the bike shot forward and you immediately reached out and wrapped your arms around her waist, pressing your face into her back. She laughed a bit at your reaction. Perhaps you’d been a bit too eager to leave your house because you were now quite embarrassed at how firmly you held onto her.
About an hour or so later you’d arrived at a rather small ship parked a decent ways into the treeline. You’d past a few neighboring farms on your way and you silently wished your neighbors goodbye, except for the one directly to your south. You had a feeling that guy would be taking your land as soon as he could.
“Here we are.” Ahsoka said, stopping the speeder, “You can…let go now.”
You hadn’t even remembered that you were holding onto her.
“Right! Sorry.” You let go and got off the speeder. It was good to finally stretch your legs again.
The ship looked sort of like low altitude transport ships, but you doubted that’s what it actually was. Likely it had been a similarly designed transport ship. Inside there was a small sleeping pad and a spot for Ahsoka’s speeder, you walked inside, looking around. The cockpit seemed fairly roomy, looking like it could seat 3 people.
“Not much, but it’s space worthy.” she said, “Borrowed it from a friend.”
You nodded, “Home-y.”
She sort of chuckled, shutting the outside door and heading for the cockpit.
“You sure you’re ready to leave the planet?” She called.
“Yeah.” You said, “Not too much to leave behind. I made my choice the first time those Imperial assholes marched through my fields. Republic at least pretend to care about interfering with my farm.”
You took the seat next to her, sort of excited at the idea of going somewhere new, but you felt a knot in your stomach. Ahsoka was pushing buttons and the ship lifted off the ground. You saw the trees get smaller and smaller.
“The only thing I’m worried about,” you said, leaning back and watching the sky turn black and the stars come into view, “Is where I’m supposed to go now.”
She was quiet for another moment, putting in some more coordinates to make the jump to hyperspace.
“You could…stay with me,” she said, “If you want to.”
You looked at her, studying her expression. She was serious.
The knot in your stomach tightened further.
Ahsoka was…well she was beautiful, and you’d be lying if you hadn’t given thought to running away with her over the past week as she stayed with you. You of course would never ask. It would be rude, and you didn’t have a good reason to go then, but now…
“I’d like that.” You’re chest swelled when you saw a smile grace her lips at your answer. “Where to first, Captain?”
She chuckled, “Well I hope you like the cold, because we’re headed to Hoth.”
And suddenly a new fantasy of warm drinks and sitting close grabbed hold of your heart.

Senate Party - Hunter Ending
Link to Part 1
You let out a frustrated breath as you grabbed the soft fabric of the next dress. None of the others had felt right and you really didn’t want to go on the hunt again.
Fortunately, this dress was probably your favorite and not just because of it’s luxuriously soft fabric. The color was your favorite and as you put it on you took note of how it came in at your most flattering point. The top half was elegant and the bottom flowed nicely, allowing you room to walk.
The dress felt so natural and soft against your skin. Somehow it felt like being wrapped in a soft blanket while still letting your skin breathe. It was damn near perfect.
You stepped out of the dressing room, feeling confident.
-------
Hunter tried to hide how much he enjoyed seeing you in these dresses. It was an interesting change of pace and he could look at you without the worry of awkwardly getting caught.
But he was sure anyone could see how he sat up straighter when you came out in your latest dress.
You looked wonderful in all the dresses you’d tried on, but this one, Maker, this one really looked wonderful on you. It fell elegantly across your body, accenting your figure. If there was any doubt, the smile on your face really sealed the deal on this dress for him.
“You look beautiful.” The words came without his permission and he immediately began to stutter, “I-I mean it looks like you really like this one.”
“Smooth.” Crosshair said under his breath. Fortunately, Hunter didn’t think you noticed.
“Thanks, Hunter.” You looked at yourself in the mirror, giving the dress one last nod of approval, “I think we’re finished here!”
There was a cheer from the squad and you went back to the dressing room to change back into your regular armor. Hunter took a moment to shake his head, trying to refocus.\
-------
The next day you were all back on the Marauder waiting for Crosshair and Echo to come back with the clothes. The suits all needed some tailoring.
Hunter was playing Dejarik with Omega. This game was always intense with her, though he never won. Tech and maybe Echo were the only ones who truly stood a chance.
“You really need to tell her you like her,” Omega said, destroying another one of his pieces.
“Who says I like her?” Hunter asked. He moved another piece forward.
“Hunter, it’s pretty obvious.” She said, “I’m surprised y/n hasn’t figured it out yet.”
“What makes you think she’d like me anyway?”
“Oh come on.” Omega sighed, “Have you been paying attention?”
“Omega, look…I’m not good at this.”
She looked at him sympathetically, “This is a perfect opportunity Hunter! You can pair up for the party tonight.”
Hunter paused at the thought, maybe Omega was right. It was time for him to do something about his crush on you.
“I win!” Omega cheered, pulling him from his thoughts just in time for Crosshair and Echo to come aboard with everyone’s outfits.
Omega jumped up from her seat. Crosshair and Echo laid out the garment bags carefully.
“No issues then?” Hunter asked, eying the bag with your dress in it.
“It’s a miracle.” Crosshair said, taking a seat at the front of the ship. Echo did the same, sitting down across from Hunter.
They’d be taking everything over to a hotel in civilian clothes later, partly to avoid suspicion and partly because you didn’t want to leave all of your armor in a random hotel room.
Speaking of, you came out from the back of the marauder, likely having heard Echo and Crosshair return.
“That was quick.” You smiled. You’d already changed into civilian clothes while they were out.
Hunter watched as you picked up your and Omega’s bags.
“I’m going to hang these up.” You said, “Sometimes the bags make the bottoms of dresses wrinkle.”
“Ah, before you go,” Hunter called and you turned to face him, “We should go over assignments. We’ll be arriving at different times.”
“I want to go with Wrecker!” Omega said quickly. Hunter raised an eyebrow at her. He knew her game.
“That’s fine, Omega.” He said, “I don’t think Wrecker will mind.”
“What won’t I mind?” Wrecker asked. He and Tech we’re coming up from the hold.
“Omega said she’d like to pair up with you tonight.”
“All right!” Wrecker smiled, giving Omega a small high five.
Hunter shook his head and smiled.
“You two will arrive with Echo.” Hunter said, “But Echo can split off once you arrive.”
They all nodded. Hunter took a mental note to ask Echo to keep an eye on Wrecker and Omega and to remind the latter two that this was a mission first and foremost.
“Crosshair and Tech can take the first cab out, it’ll give Tech more time to tap into security. I’ll go with y/n.”
There was a quick beat of silence that put Hunter on edge, but no one seemed to have any objections.
“That all sounds good to me.” You smiled, “How long till we leave, Tech?”
“3 hours and 27 minutes.”
-------
Hunter looked himself over in the hotel mirror. His suit wasn’t flashy, just a few accents of color on the inside lining. His shirt, however, was entirely the same color as your dress. He realized that his outfit matched your dress a while ago, but he hadn’t noticed the accessories you’d slipped into his bag. You’d found a headpiece for him that would keep his hair out of his eyes, but matched the occasion much better than a bandanna. It also matched the cuffs you’d found for him.
It was so thoughtful. You were always thinking of little things like this. It was one of the reasons he loved you.
He froze.
He did love you; it was the first time he’d admitted it to himself.
“Something wrong?” Echo asked. He’d finished getting ready too.
“It’s nothing,” Hunter said, “Just an unusual mission.”
“I get that.” Echo smiled.
They made their way to the elevator and out into the lobby. Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech were waiting.
“Looking good, boys.” Wrecker smiled at their approach.
“We’re just waiting on y/n and Omega. Though we still have plenty of time.” Tech was again wrapped up in his holopad. Hunter just nodded in response.
Soon enough Omega came running up to them. She looked so excited and Hunter couldn’t help but smile at her enthusiasm. You’d found accessories for her, too.
“How do I look?” Omega asked, twisting a bit to show off the skirt of her dress.
“Great.” Hunter smiled, “Where’s y/n?”
“I’m here, I just didn’t want to run.”
Hunter looked up at your voice and suddenly all he could process was you. You were walking towards them gracefully, the fabric of your dress flowing gently as you did so. It truly accented your figure perfectly. He rarely saw you in makeup, as it was impractical for your daily routine, so the makeup you had on now was a change. It made the occasion feel special. He also took notice of your styled hair and the clicking of your shoes on the lobby tile. You had some jewelry on that accented it all wonderfully. You looked happy and he hoped you felt beautiful.
Because you were the most beautiful creature in the galaxy to him.
Echo nudged him a bit and Hunter suddenly realized that everyone was waiting for him to give a final rundown of the mission, which he did quickly.
“Remember to comm in when you arrive and if you find the target. It’s unlikely all of us will need to pursue one man, hence why we’re in teams.”
Everyone nodded and began to split into their assigned teams. Tech and Crosshair left immediately. You leaned down to Omega and he heard you whisper to her.
“Try to keep Wrecker in check.”
Omega giggled at that. Hunter smiled a bit too. It was good for Omega to have you around, especially on a mission like this.
Then you stood and the two of you waved goodbye to the rest of the squad and made your way to a waiting cab.
---------
As you stepped out of the cab, Hunter realized that you hadn’t worn any perfume. Many of the other attendants were covered in smells that assaulted his senses.
In the cab he’d only noticed the gentle scent of whatever was in your hair. Did you avoid perfume on purpose because of him? Or was it just a coincidence?
Either way, he tried to push the wall of fragrance out of his mind and refocus as you were let in. The hall was massive and he could hear people making idle chatter. There was a band just beginning their set, though plenty of people were already dancing. Food was being served, and there looked to be an art gallery under the large stairs. The upper floors likely held some other form of entertainment, perhaps a bar.
“Bigger than I thought.” You said. He noticed you step a bit closer to him and he grew brave. He’d already partnered you two up, no sense in wasting it now.
“Me too, perhaps we should stick closer together.” He offered you his arm, “We sort of look like a couple anyway.”
---------
Your heart was racing. It had been since Hunter paired you two together. You were excited at the chance for some time alone with him, but also worried about overstepping bounds.
Suddenly you heard Omega’s giggle in your mind. You’d told her you were overthinking being his partner for the night.
But now he was offering his arm to you.
You took it, though you hoped you didn’t appear too enthusiastic. Thoughts spun around in your head. You had to say something.
“I guess we do.” You said, “These things can be overwhelming.”
He hummed in agreement and you continued into the crowd. You kept thinking about the turn in events while attempting to look for the target. Though your focus wasn’t helped by having your arms intertwined. You could feel Hunter’s muscles under his suit.
The others commed in as they arrived, you even caught eyes with Crosshair who smirked a bit when he saw how close you and Hunter were. You’d looked away quickly.
Hunter did look quite handsome in this outfit. You’d always enjoyed his rugged look, but this was special. He cleaned up quite nicely.
The two of you chose to wander near the dancefloor, listening for any interesting conversation while scanning the large ballroom.
“Good thing we split up.” You said, “It’s a large crowd.”
“Yeah, luckily we know who to look for.” Hunter was scanning the room intensely. You tried not to stare at him.
Suddenly he tensed up and you followed his gaze. That was the target, chatting politely with two senators.
“Target spotted.” He said quietly into his comm. He covered the movement by brushing aside his hair.
“What is the location?” Tech asked.
You adjusted your grip on Hunter’s arm, leaning into him to hide your hand touching your own ear.
“Near the buffet.” You said, “We’re a bit far off. Is anyone closer?”
“We’re over here.” Echo chimed in and you saw him sitting at a table nearby with Omega and Wrecker at the table next to him. “I can pursue, Omega and Wrecker can follow as backup.”
“Be careful.” Hunter said. You smiled a bit at his protectiveness.
“We’ll comm if anything happens.” Omega said.
And then the line went silent again. You noticed Hunter sigh, relaxing a bit. He rubbed his head.
---------
With the target now found and half of the squad handling it, Hunter finally found it in him to relax a bit. The party really was taking a toll on his heightened senses and without a target to focus on it all hit him at once.
“You know, we could go out to the balcony.” You said, leaning back away from his arm, “It’ll be quieter out there, more fresh air.”
You’d noticed. Again he was reminded of how thoughtful you were.
“I’d like that.” He sighed. There was no need to put on a brave face with you.
Together you made your way to the balcony, both of you leaning a bit on the railing and taking in the night air. You were right, it was better out here.
“Hunter…” You asked, “I need to ask you something.”
“What is it?”
“Did you…Did you assign me to be your partner for any particular reason?”
He paused at that. Taking just a bit too long to answer as the possibilities ran through his mind.
“Why do you ask?”
You pursed your lips. He didn’t know if that was a bad sign or if you were just thinking.
“I’m probably overthinking things,” You said finally, “But I really like you and I’m starting to think you might like me too?”
Hunter looked at you with wide eyes. He was worried about this entire evening, but he never imagined it would lead to you confessing to him.
“I more than like you.” He hesitantly put his hand over yours on the railing, “You’re wonderful, attentive, so strong in the field, yet so kind to us all.”
For a moment he was worried that you might cry, but you pressed into him. He hugged you back quickly, the subtle scent of your hair brushing him again as he rested his head on yours. The overstimulation of the evening was wearing off as he focused on you.
“Your dress is soft.” He noted, feeling the fabric under his hands. Your warmth was welcome against the cool night breeze.
“Part of why I got it.”
You looked up at him again and he could swear you had the entire galaxy in your eyes. He leaned down and kissed you gently.
His galaxy was in his arms.

Happy To Fail
Malavai Quinn x Sith! Reader
A/N: This contains spoilers for the Sith Warrior story on Star Wars the Old Republic. You have been warned!!!
Quinn sighed, and shook his head.
Sith weren’t merciful. He knew that, he’d seen it. And even you, perfect, powerful you...he knew exactly how ruthless you could be.
And yet, you spared him. Suddenly he grew more thankful for the late nights and stolen moments before his betrayal. The moments that made his heart race. The ones that convinced you to go alone with him on that ship…They were the same ones that likely saved his life.
He tapped a finger on the desk, he needed to stop thinking as a strategist. He loved you, really, but he never thought you actually returned that feeling. Sith weren’t merciful, but they could be impulsive.
He owed you now, owed you for more that just a career. Darth Baras was his enemy now, and he hoped that you would defeat him. For both your sakes.
You hadn’t talked to him since the incident on the ship, rather, you had remained holed up in your quarters, filling the ship with an uneasy feeling. Jaesa seemed energized by it, but he only felt guilty. It had only been a day since his betrayal, but time passed slowly with nothing but his own thoughts. You said you wouldn’t tell the crew, but he felt isolated either way.
He’d only seen you once since then. As you stepped out of the refresher, hair still wet, earlier that morning. You calmly offered a greeting that he couldn’t remember, though he could feel the anger radiating off you in waves.
Your yellow eyes didn’t give much away as he quickly stuttered out a hello and tried to keep his composure.
You simply walked past him, heading back into your quarters.
The interaction had drained him so quickly. He spent far too long in the shower, just letting the warm water fall over his skin.
He wasn’t working at his fullest capacity. His thoughts got in the way whenever his mind took the slightest pause. All he wanted was to talk to you again, he wanted to make sure that you knew how grateful he was that...well that he couldn’t calculate for you.
For once he was happy that he’d failed.
Could he ever be happy had his plan succeeded? He’d have gone back to Baras, of course, and continued serving the Empire as he always did but…
He loved you. He hated this mission, hated himself for going through with it, yet something in him pushed him on. He told himself that your interest had to be a with whim, but that cut into him almost as much as his own betrayal did.
The night he’d received Baras’s communication regarding your “removal”, he’d felt terrible. Quinn didn’t sleep much that night and he hadn’t slept much since. His actions felt empty, and his body felt, heavy, ever since he’d set on that treacherous course to kill you. He’d hoped that when he killed you that feeling would begin to go away, but now... now he suspected that the weight of it would have stayed on him his entire life. It might have ended him.
He would have been haunted by the way you’d held his hand when boarding the ship, the way you asked “Is something wrong, Quinn?” when you sensed his unease, the way your eyes looked when he explained what he’d done.
“Quinn.” your voice behind him made him jump, he hadn’t heard your approach.
“M-My Lord.”
His nervousness clearly wasn’t lost on you, and you sighed.
“I can tell that you’re nervous, upset, confused…”
“All of the above, my Lord.” he said, “I hope you know my confusion is not about my dedication to you.”
You held his gaze, taking a pause that was just a moment too long.
“I hope so.” you said, “I...Betrayal stings, it leaves behind an anger that Sith thrive on.”
“I’ve heard similar things from other sith.”
You nodded slowly, “But...betrayal from you...feels different.”
Quinn looked down, waiting for you to continue.
“I expected betrayal from my master, perhaps not at that moment, but eventually. But from you...I was blind to it.”
“I am so sorry…” he could feel tears pricking at his eyes. It was a sensation he hadn’t experienced since he was a boy, “I had your trust and I squandered it.”
You put your hands on either side of his face, “I am not a gentle person, normally.” You said, “But the people I bring into this small circle are...important to me. The world of the Sith is one of backstabbing and mercilessness. I didn’t grow up with many friends who lasted long.”
“That sounds...terribly lonely.” Quinn said. You nodded, and took the opportunity to glance around. To be this vulnerable in front of him...even after what he’d done to you surprised him.
“I decided that the people aboard my personal ship would be exempt from all of that, from me. I needed a group who I could trust, but I still find myself sleeping with my lightsaber.”
“You..appeared to give up that practice the nights I’ve stayed with you.”
“I had…” you said, “Things aren’t going to be the same, Quinn, but I hope you understand what you meant to me, and what you and the rest of the crew still mean to me.”
“I...think I do my Lord.”
You sighed, then released him. He felt a pang as your skin left his and a small pull at his mind.
“I promise, I will never give you cause to feel this way again.” Quinn said, grabbing your hand before you could leave, “I’ll do all I can to make this right.”
You gave him a small smile, the first he’d seen all day and for the first time in a long time, he felt his anxieties lessen.
“I’ll be back soon to finish preparations for Camilla.” you said, “I imagine it’s easier for us to work together for the time being.”
“As you wish, My Lord.” He gave a slight bow and watched you leave.
You wanted to keep an eye on him, but your choice to do so personally gave him hope that all was not lost.
—————
You left to your chambers to meditate. Quinn's betrayal cut deep and you felt the pain pulling you into the darkside, but unlike last night, your rage was again controlled, focused.
Baras was capable of a great many things, and though you doubted he’d be able to bend your beloved Quinn as much as the average man...you knew, or perhaps you simply needed to believe, that he’d done something to him. Quinn was never one to dispatch of assets he thought would aid the empire, and you thought...
You loved the Captain, though neither of you had said it, yet. And your anger towards your former master grew ever more at the thought of losing one of the few people you trusted to his manipulations. He’d suffer at your hand. You would see to it personally.

Senate Party - Echo Ending
Warnings: Reader gets hit on by a rich asshole. Said asshole tries to insult Echo. You’re not having it.
Link to Part 1
You reached out for the dress you’d gravitated to most. Compared to the others it may have seemed a bit plain, but you just loved the color and the feel of the fabric.
After putting it on you began to notice some of the more subtle embellishments and beautiful craftsmanship. The neckline that you liked so much was all you thought it would be. You twirled a bit, watching as the flowing fabric twirled just above the ground. You couldn’t stop the smile that spread across your face.
This one felt right to you. You could move freely, and yet you still felt beautiful.
With a jolt you realized that the dress was the same color Echo had chosen to embellish his outfit. You found yourself thinking of him more and more lately. You tried to shake any further thoughts from your head.
With a calming breath and one last look in the mirror, you opened the door.
-------
Echo enjoyed seeing you try on dresses. His crush on you was something he’d come to accept, though he knew it was unlikely you would return his affection. Just seeing you smile, just being around you made him happy.
But, Maker, did you look beautiful in these dresses, though you hadn’t seemed to find one you liked yet.
When the door opened he looked on curiously, interested in what your next pick would be, but he was pretty sure his brain stopped working when he saw you.
This dress was definitely his favorite. He thought you looked beautiful before but this dress seemed to let that beauty shine in every way. It accented your figure without any unnecessary frills or shine and the color really brought out your eyes. As you moved it flowed elegantly. You looked almost angelic; more graceful than any jedi.
The smile on your face was the crowning jewel of the whole thing. He felt that same pressure in his chest he always got when you were near him.
“So? What do you think?” You asked, holding out your arms a bit. Wrecker nudged him and fortunately that was just the push Echo needed to bring his mind back on track.
“It really looks great.” Echo said, “You look happy.”
Your smile widened and the pressure in his chest grew.
“Thanks, Echo.” You said, “I really think this is one will be perfect.”
------------
Echo walked next to Crosshair through the busy streets of the market. They’d both gone to pick up everyone’s outfits after the suits had been altered. He was excited to see you in your dress again.
“You really are so obvious.” Crosshair said. Echo shot him a look.
“What do you mean by that?”
“You’ve been carrying that dress like it was a priceless antique.” He said, “Don’t think I didn’t notice how you jumped at the chance to carry y/n’s outfit when we divided everything up.”
“She just…seemed really excited about it.” Echo said defensively, pushing on through the crowd.
“Yeah, sure.” He could practically see Crosshair smirk behind him.
They arrived back at the Marauder and placed everyone’s outfits out, laying the garment bags in the main living quarters.
“Thanks for picking these up.” You smiled, appearing from the back in your casual clothes. They’d all be traveling over to a hotel to change later, but you’d mentioned that you didn’t want to leave your armor at the hotel. Everyone agreed that it may be best to do the same.
You had a towel in your hand and wet hair. Echo recalled you mentioning that you preferred to use the shower aboard the ship to save time later.
“Uh, y-yeah. No problem.”
Crosshair let out an amused breath nearby, but Echo tried to ignore him.
“Are you excited?” He asked.
“I guess so.” You said, taking a seat and toweling off your hair, “It’s been a nice change of pace, if anything.”
“I know what you mean.” He sighed. You sat in comfortable silence for a moment until Hunter came in. He saw the pile of formalwear.
“Ah, good, you got everything.” Hunter took the seat next to Crosshair. “We do need to figure out who’s going with who since we’ll be arriving at different times.”
“I think Echo and y/n should pair up.” Crosshair drawled. Echo glared at him but the sniper just stared back with a satisfied look on his face.
“That works for me.” You smiled, “What about you, Echo?”
“Hm? Oh yeah I don’t mind.”
“You two do have matching outfits.” Hunter noted, “If you arrive together, you should probably stay together for the entire thing. You’ll look like a couple.”
Echo looked at both his brothers in disbelief. They’d planned this somehow and he didn’t know if he should be grateful or furious. Given their self satisfied expressions and how you seemed to freeze at the suggestion he was leaning toward the latter.
“That’s not a bad idea.” You said finally, “I’d be more comfortable with another person.”
“Me too.” Echo agreed. He really didn’t want to be alone at the party, though he’d expected to be paired up with one of his brothers.
“It’ll be fun.” You smiled, standing up and grabbing the dresses from the table. Maybe you weren’t upset at the idea. You certainly seemed a bit happier than you did earlier.
With a polite nod you took the dresses back to the bunks to hang them up.
------------
“You planned that, didn’t you?” Echo hissed at Crosshair. The sniper smiled at him.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
They were waiting for you and Omega in the hotel lobby and Echo had to admit, they all looked pretty good. Echo took a moment to adjust his sleeves. They’d had to tailor the one on his scomp link arm, but it fit quite well. He’d chosen to go with a more subtle outfit than most of his brothers, liking how only his lapels and cufflinks were colorful. And he may have chosen that color after you mentioned how much you liked it on him when he was wearing his civilian clothes a few missions back.
“Oh come on.” Echo said, “You accuse me of being ‘so obvious’ and then just so happen to suggest y/n and I get paired up for this mission. You even convinced Hunter to get in on it. Ugh, he said we’d ‘look like a couple’ and she just froze.”
“Actually,” Hunter said, “Y/n asked me if you two could pair up tonight. She was a bit nervous about the whole thing.”
Echo didn’t know how to respond. You’d asked to spend the night with him? Did you freeze up because Hunter gave away your plan, or because he implied you’d look like a couple when you’d just wanted to go as friends? Were you nervous about the gala or about him getting the wrong idea? What idea even was the wrong idea?
Fortunately, Omega ran up just then, interrupting both the conversation and Echo’s thoughts. You’d picked out some accessories for her that complemented her blue outfit well.
Echo looked up. He wasn’t entirely sure if he could short circuit, but if he could now would be the time.
You were stunning. Every feature of the dress he noticed yesterday hit him again all at once. It complemented your figure wonderfully, and the flowing fabric ran just above the floor. As your missions normally involved heavy armor and helmets, he didn’t normally see you in makeup. Tonight, however, you’d apparently made an exception. You’d styled your hair aswell and as you came closer he noticed the jewelry you’d picked out adorning your neck and arms.
Maker, were you beautiful. The gleam in your eyes as you smiled at them was worth more than everything else combined. He could tell that you felt beautiful, too.
Just like in the shop, Wrecker nudged him a bit to snap him out of his gawking. Echo blinked a few times, recentering himself.
“You all look so good!” You said, “Sorry it took us a bit longer.”
“Not a problem.” Tech said, “We are still on schedule.”
“Oh good.”
You sighed and looked at Echo with a small smile. He returned with a small smile of his own, hoping you didn’t notice the blush on his cheeks.
----------
About an hour later you two were handing your invites to a reception droid. It beeped approvingly and you were let in. You took yet another deep breath, glad to have been paired up with Echo for the night, but now more concerned with what to do next. When you asked Hunter to pair you up, you hadn’t really planned further ahead.
The hall was absolutely huge. You and Echo couldn’t help but stare. There was a sea of people mingling before you, some enjoying food while others danced. Many of them were simply making polite conversation with other party guests.
You might as well make your move.
“Echo.” You said, looking around at some of the couples, “Would you mind if I held onto your arm?”
He raised an eyebrow at you.
“You…want to?” He asked.
“I mean…” You said, trying to hold on to the nerve you’d just found, “Hunter did mention that we’d look like a couple, so maybe we should play it up?”
That explanation was apparently good enough because he extended his elbow a bit to let you loop your arm through his. You felt him stiffen for a moment but he relaxed quickly.
“Well now we just keep our eyes and ears open.” You said, spotting Tech in the corner. He seemed to see you, too, because he smiled seeing you and Echo arm in arm.
“I guess.” He said, “Were should we head?”
You looked around, and saw a group of people mingling under the main stairs. There was some artwork displayed there. Maybe a good place to overhear some conversation or find your target.
“Let’s head that way.” You suggested, nodding towards the art exhibit.
---------
That fluttering feeling was weighing on Echo with full force. You were so close to him, gently holding onto his arm in such a sweet way.
But his thoughts were interrupted by a rather tall man who’d begun following them as they entered the art exhibit.
“We’re being followed.” He noted to you as you both stoped in front of a piece.
“Yeah.” You said, “I don’t recognize him. Is he with the target?”
“Not sure.” Echo shrugged, “I can comm in and-”
“Hello there.”
You both looked over to find the man in question standing beside you both. He was tall, and dressed in a white suit jacket. His hair was slicked back. Echo noticed the gold adorning almost every part of his body.
“Hello.” You offered politely, “Wonderful party.”
“Better now that I’ve met you.” He smiled. Echo narrowed his eyes.
“Ah, and you are?” You asked, clearly a bit uncomfortable.
The man blinked for a moment, as if surprised that you didn’t automatically recognize him, but soon fell back into his original demeanor.
“Riccam Vandron.” He smiled, “Charmed.”
Echo noticed you stiffen next to him. The Vandron name was familiar to him, they had a lot of money and status to throw around. If Tech had been there he’d know their entire family business for sure.
“Nice to meet you.” You said, doing well to hide your apparent discomfort, “I’m Lynbra and this is-”
“Oh, honey you don’t have to hold on to that thing.” He said, cutting you off before you could assign Echo a fake name as well, “I’d be more than happy to take you home tonight.”
“Thing?” You asked. “Did you really just call my boyfriend a thing?”
Boyfriend?
“Please, I’ve seen plenty of fine women whose parents make them take a servant to these things. You’re beautiful. You can obviously do better. Like I said, I’d be more than happy to keep you company.” He tried to come closer but you held up a hand. His look of surprise quickly turned into a scowl.
“Let me get a few things clear for you.” You pushed him back a bit, “Firstly, this man is the most kind, compassionate, skilled person I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting and handsome to boot. I couldn’t ‘do better’ if I had access to every person in the entire galaxy.”
Echo probably should have stepped in, not for your sake but the man’s. He knew better than anyone just how dangerous you could be. But your words, so sweet but full of conviction, were just enough to throw him off balance for a moment.
“Secondly,” you said, pointing a finger at him, “I wouldn’t go home with you if you were the last person in the entire galaxy. Vandron or not.”
-------
You stared back into the Vandron’s red face with unimpressed rage. He started to come towards you again. You didn’t regret your words but you did regret potentially blowing your cover if this thing escalated further. He wasn’t an important Vandron, if he even was one at all, but that wasn’t a risk you wanted to take.
“What did you just say to me you little-”
Suddenly an arm cut in front of you, Echo was glaring at him just as harshly as you.
“She said no, pal.” Echo said sternly. You hadn’t seen him this truly angry in a long while, but you could hear it in his voice. “You really gonna start a scene here over this?”
The guy looked around, apparently noticing that this gallery was pretty well guarded and decided to drop it, walking away slowly and trying to glare daggers at both of you.
You watched him go, then sighed.
“Sorry about that.” You said, “I should have thought of the mission.”
“I understand.” Echo nodded offering you his arm again so you two could continue walking, though you had no destination.
“I’m glad you stepped in.”
“Well, not that you couldn’t have handled it, but what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t?”
You stopped in your tracks, feeling the heat on your face as you recalled exactly what you’d said. Echo chuckled a bit.
“I…didn’t even notice.” You said, putting your free hand over your face, “The words just sort of came out of me.”
He took some time before replying and you braced yourself for potential rejection.
“Y/n,” He said your name thoughtfully, carefully, “I’ve had feelings for you for quite some time. You’re so funny and intelligent. You always know what to say or do to help out. I just couldn’t believe that you’d ever feel the same as I did. Hunter mentioned earlier that you’d wanted to pair off with me tonight and I…started to think that maybe you had feelings for me too?”
You looked at him, searching his face. He looked at you, obviously also a bit worried. You smiled.
“Echo, everything I said back there is true. I think you’re wonderful and…I want to be with you.”
He smiled at that. You’d both arrived in a more secluded area of the gala. Without as many people it felt…intimate.
Echo put his hand on your cheek and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“After this is over,” He said, “We’ll have to go on a proper date, not a mission.”
“Agreed.”
“I’ve found the target.” Hunter’s voice in both your ears cut into the moment.
“Do you need backup?” You asked.
“No, Wrecker and I are following.” He replied, “We’ll let you know if things escalate.”
The comm went silent again and you both smiled a bit. He grabbed your hand, lacing your fingers together.
“Or…we have some time now.” He said. You chuckled a bit and kissed his cheek. The blush on his face was too cute.
You squeezed his hand and smiled, “Might as well enjoy it.”

Senate Party - Wrecker’s Ending
Link to Part 1
You finished tightening the dress and turned to look in the mirror. It felt quite fancy, but the fabric fell out from your waist at just the right point. Someone probably could have hidden under the skirt if they wanted to. The material was beautiful and you took a moment to admire the color.
With one last deep breath you opened the door to the changing room.
No one spoke and you folded you arms, suddenly uncomfortable in the quiet. They’d seen you in civilian clothes before, but you supposed that this was…quite the change.
“Umm…So what do you think?” You asked, fluffing out the skirt a bit as you stood there.
“Looks nice. How do you feel?” Hunter offered and you raised your arms, moving around the same way you’d told Omega to earlier.
“It’s not restrictive.” You smiled, “Feels nice.”
------
You looked absolutely stunning. Wrecker couldn’t stop himself from staring, but as soon as he could speak again he did.
“You look beautiful!” He said it quite loudly and while that normally didn’t bother him, he was very aware of it now.
“Well we know which one Wrecker votes for.” Echo nudged him with a smile.
“Thanks, Wrecker.” You said. The smile on your face hadn’t faded, if anything it had gotten wider. That made him feel better.
“It’s a good start. This one will be hard to beat.”  You took a few more moments to look it over, then nodded at everyone and disappeared into the room again.
Wrecker watched the door close. Seeing you in that dress hit him like a transport ship. He didn’t know much about fancy clothes, but he knew that you looked wonderful in them, still as strong as ever but so…elegant.
He didn’t know he liked elegant until just now.
As you came out in other dresses he also realized how that dress was perfect for you. They were all nice, but none of them seemed to make you light up like that first one. Wrecker felt himself grinning when you decided to buy it.
------
“What is this thing made of?” Echo asked, dropping your dress onto the table. He and Crosshair had gone to pick up everyone’s newly tailored clothes. “It’s pretty heavy don’t you think?”
“Not any heavier than my armor.” You tilted your head a bit.
“Ugh, you and Wrecker have the heaviest armor. I should have known you wouldn’t have noticed.” He sighed.
Wrecker gave you a high-five and Echo rolled his eyes.
You lifted up the dress with ease, going towards your bunk.
“Omega.” You called, “Come hang up your dress with me. Being in the bag can wrinkle them a bit.”
“Alright!” Omega had been playing a game of Dejarik with Hunter, but got up to grab her dress and follow you to the bunks.
“Wrecker,” Hunter said, grabbing his attention, “I think you and y/n should pair up tonight.”
“Me?” He asked, “Are you sure?”
“Why not?”
“Eh…I don’t know, Hunter…Wouldn’t she rather be paired with someone else?”
Hunter raised an eyebrow at him.
“You two work together all the time, Wrecker.”
Wrecker shifted a bit in his seat.
“Yeah, I know but…this is supposed to be a fancy night. Do you really think she’d want to spend it with me?”
“Oh come on…” Crosshair rolled his eyes from his spot in the corner. Wrecker turned his attention to him.
“What’s your problem?!”
Crosshair kept gnawing on his toothpick, but his eyes flicked over to Hunter.
Hunter put a hand on Wrecker’s shoulder.
“What I think Crosshair is trying to say,” Hunter shot the sniper a glare, “Is that y/n enjoys your company. You’re friends. So don’t worry about it.”
He smiled at the encouragement.
“Besides.” Crosshair smirked, “We all know you like her.”
-----
Wrecker had opted to skip the suit jacket while shopping, so you’d found him a nice vest that had color all the way around it instead of just in the front. It actually matched the color of your dress now that he thought about it.
His black pants and tie were both made of a crisp material that almost shined in the light. He’d worried that the white button down shirt would be uncomfortable or not fit, but you had also found him something both soft and his size.
Wrecker bounced his leg nervously as they waited for you and Omega to finish changing. They’d gotten a hotel room to make sure everyone had room to figure out their outfits rather than cram together on the Marauder.
“Don’t be nervous, Wrecker.” Tech said. His own suit included a vest with an interesting illusion fabric that he prattled on about once they got back to the ship. Was there anything he wouldn’t research?
“Who says I’m nervous?” He snapped.
Before Tech could answer, Omega came rushing up to them. You’d paired her dress with a sparkly head piece that draped over her hair.
Wrecker looked up and for the second time in two days he found himself helpless at the sight of you.
If he thought you’d looked good in the shop, now you were absolutely radiant. He didn’t often see you in much makeup as it wasn’t really practical for running around a battlefield, but you’d really gone all out for the occasion. You’d also gotten some jewelry for yourself that paired perfectly with your dress. Your hair had been styled too.
But the thing that really got him was how happy you looked. You seemed so confident and excited, even if this was just supposed to be a mission.
“Try to breathe, buddy.” Echo chuckled. Wrecker blinked a few times, trying to keep it together as you finally reached them.
“Well you all clean up pretty nice.” You raised a teasing brow at them, “Are we all ready to go?”
“Yeah,” Hunter said, handing you two invites, “We’ll be arriving at different times. You and Wrecker will get there last.”
“Sounds good.” You said, grabbing the invites and walking toward Wrecker. He hoped you couldn’t hear his heartbeat as you stood next to him.
Without much more fanfair, Crosshair and Tech left to get a Cab. The rest of you milled about the lobby for a while, chatting a bit to pass the time.
“Excited?” You asked, waving to Omega as she left with Echo and Hunter.
“I guess so.” He said, “Haven’t ever been to one of these. Are you excited?”
“It’ll be fun.” You said, “Especially since we’re going together.”
He felt that same fluttery feeling in his stomach again. You always made him feel that way.
“Don’t mind having me as a date, then?” He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Date?”
You repeated the word and he thought his heart stopped. Ugh, he felt so stupid. He hadn’t even been alone with you for a few seconds and he was already making things weird.
“Do you…” You spoke the words slowly, and he noticed how you couldn’t meet his eye, “Do you want it to be a date?”
“I…uh…look if you don’t want to then I get it. We’re just paired up for the mission and-”
You put a hand on his arm, silencing him.
“Wrecker…Do you want it to be a date?”
“I…” He sighed in defeat, “Ugh, yes I do! I know it’s a mission, but…”
You finally looked at him, eyes sparkling, “I’d like it if you were my date.”
--------
You were sort of surprised at the sudden turn of events and your forwardness in the face of your crush. But you could tell he was just as nervous as you were.
Wrecker smiled.
“Really?”
“Of course.” Your cheeks were heating up again but the smile hadn’t fallen from your face.
Wrecker let out a relieved sigh and you two waited in a silence that was somehow both awkward and relieving. You didn’t anticipate this “undercover” plan would work as well as your commanding Jedi insisted it would, but maybe it would be fruitful for you after all.
“Oh, looks like it’s time to go.” You said suddenly, looking at the clock on the lobby wall, “Let’s go make an entrance.”
“Yeah!” He smiled, hopping up and walking to the door. He paused for a moment and then turned to hold it for you.
You giggled a bit at him, but thanked him nonetheless. He followed you into a waiting cab.
The droid at the door scanned your invites and beeped approvingly.
“Oh, perfect.” The protocol droid next to it said, “Right this way, I hope you find the party to your liking.”
You looped your arm through Wrecker’s as you proceeded into the hall. He looked at you with wide eyes.
“What?” You said innocently, “You’re my date remember.”
He nudged you playfully, but his smile didn’t escape you. He put a gentle hand over yours, securing you at his side.
The hall was absolutely huge. You’d been to a few functions like this for missions before, but this place was even more extravagant than you’d imagined. Suddenly you were doubly grateful to have Wrecker beside you, it made you feel less out of place.
You both continued further into the building and stood next to one of the walls. At one point you spotted Echo, who had given you both a knowing smile. You mentally prepared yourself for potential teasing when you all got back to the ship. Hell, you wouldn’t be surprised if Crosshair commed in during the damn gala to point out how close you two were getting.
“So…now what?” Wrecker asked looking around at all the spectacle.
“Well, we just have to keep our ears open.” You said, “Why don’t we grab some food and get a seat with some other people. We can wander around later.”
“I like the sound of food.”
A few minutes later you both had plates full of the galaxy’s finest cuisine. It was quite a bit of food but, for Wrecker especially, you were showing restraint.
You both sat down with another couple, hoping to start a conversation. Fortunately for you both the other guy at the table was pretty chatty. Apparently he and the woman were work associates, but they weren’t giving you much useful information. Eventually they excused themselves and left. You sighed.
“Well that was a dead end.”
“Food’s good though.” Wrecker said, “We should get invited to this sort of thing more often.”
You chuckled a bit at that, but your thoughts were interrupted.
“I think I found our guy.” Echo’s voice sounded in both of your ears and you tried to keep your face neutral. Wrecker started looking around immediately.
You leaned your head on your hand to look at Wrecker, discreetly pressing the button for your comm.
“Do you need backup?” You asked calmly. Wrecker glanced back at you and smiled a bit. It’d be nice to get some action in.
“I should be fine.” He said.
“I’m with him.” Crosshair added.
You sighed a bit, “Got it. We’ll stay here.”
You took your hand off the button and gave Wrecker a look.
“We always miss the fun stuff don’t we?” You asked.
“I don’t know.” He said, “I’m the one hanging out with you. That’s pretty fun to me.”
Damn. That was surprisingly smooth. Your heart started beating a bit faster as Wrecker continued talking.
“I…look this probably isn’t the time. They could still need our help and all, but…” He grabbed both your hands, “Look I really like you, y/n. Like, really like you. You’re so smart and nice and you always know what to do in a fight and I’m…”
You smiled at him and put a hand on his cheek.
“I like you too, Wrecker.” You could feel his scars under your fingers, “You’re so sweet and strong. I’m always laughing when I’m with you.”
It took awhile for him to process your words, but when he did he leaned into your touch.
“Can I…does that mean I can kiss you?” He asked suddenly. You chuckled a bit at the sincerity of the question.
“If you want to.”
Wrecker didn’t wait, placing a quick but sweet kiss on your lips before putting his forehead against yours. You went back to holding both his hands and for a while you just sat there, enjoying the moment.
“I’m glad we’re together.” You sighed.
“Yeah. Me too.”

The Bad Batch x Reader Senate Party Intro
A/N: Hey so @rainydaydream-gal18 does this super cool thing where they do like, choose your own ending stories for the Bad Batch! I think they are super freaking cute and I’ve decided to try my hand at it. If you haven’t already go check out their stuff. Here is a link to their masterlist.
Also check out @nahoney22 ! Her Crosshair x Reader fic, “A Night to Remember”, was a big inspiration for this. It follows you and Crosshair going to a party to get information (he also buys you a dress!). It is very cute and I love it and I loved that scenario so here this thing is!
__________________________________________
Reader Pronouns Used: She/Her in the endings.
Summary: Reader picks out a fancy dress and gets glammed up to infiltrate a big important party with the Bad Batch.
___________________________________________
“Aren’t you excited?” Omega asked. The two of you were walking through rows of dresses in preparation for an important assignment. You ran your hand along some of the soft fabric and sighed.
“I guess?” You said, “I’m just…It’s been a while since I’ve done something like this.”
“Well, if it makes you feel better, I’ve never done something like this.”
You smiled at the reassurance and gestured to a rack of dresses.
“These will all be about your size,” You said, “Why don’t you pick some out and you can try them on? I’ll go look for something just over here.”
“Okay!” She skipped over to the rack without a second thought and you straightened up, hoping to emulate some of Omega’s enthusiasm.
The rest of the Batch came back to your side of the store. You’d left them to get their outfits properly fitted for tailoring. You and Omega were just bringing a few dresses to the changing rooms, having narrowed down what you wanted to try to 5 each. An accomplishment given the variety. You waved the boys down and sent Omega into the fitting room to try on her picks.
“Well, once you two are done we’re all ready.” Hunter said, “Thank you for helping us pick something out by the way. You’re the closest thing we have to an expert here.”
You almost cringed at the thought, but you’d been to a few important functions like this before, so he was technically right. Giving the boys direction to find suits that matched their preferences while still being stylish enough for the company of galactic senators had taken up the first half of your day. Omega was ever helpful, though she did gravitate toward louder pieces. She was a good influence on all of you during this experience.
“Strange that they’d insist on us being part of the party.” You said, “Plenty of armored guards come to these sorts of things.”
“Yes, but we are supposed to be at least a little discreet.” Tech said, “As to heighten the probability of gain-”
“Gaining vital information regarding the identity of a potential spy.” Echo finished, rolling his eyes, “I don’t think this-” he held up his scomp link- “is really what I’d call discreet.”
“Yeah, we kind of stand out in a crowd.” Wrecker chuckled. He was probably the most okay with the situation besides Omega, though he was upset about the discretion.
“Yes, well, unfortunately it is a bit short notice for that, Echo, though I assure you, there will be guests in attendance with extensive cybernetics. It will be fine. Looking the part is most of the battle with these things. It’s simple psychology.”
“Speaking of looking the part…” Crosshair nodded at the dresses in your hand.
“You and Omega found a few then?” Hunter asked. You nodded.
“She’s trying her first one on now.”
You hung your picks on the rack outside the dressing room and took a seat. The others followed your lead. The shop was fairly small, so Wrecker and Echo decided to sit on the ground. Tech opted to stand while Crosshair and Hunter took the other available chairs.
To say your group looked out of place in the shop would be an understatement. Your armor alone made you stand out against the bright colors and soft fabrics.
“You can let me know if you need help, Omega.” You called, “Some of these can be pretty annoying to lace up.”
“I think I got it!” She called back. Soon after you heard the changing room door click and Omega appeared.
Her first pick was a soft yet vibrant pink color. The A-line skirt stopped just above her ankles and the sleeves gathered up into ruffles at the shoulders, stopping around her elbows.
She waved at you all and it dawned on you that maybe she wasn’t as confident as she was letting on. Her smile looked slightly nervous. This was an entirely new experience for her, too.
“It looks…nice.” Hunter offered. You gave her an encouraging smile. It did look very cute.
“Is it comfortable?” Echo asked.
“I…think so?” she turned a bit, getting a look at herself in the mirror. Her eyes brightened.
Tech tilted his head, “What about practical?”
“The skirt is good, you’ll be able to move your legs freely without tripping.” You said, approaching her to inspect the fabric a bit closer, “Try moving your arms.”
She did so, and you saw the fabric bite into her shoulder slightly. She couldn’t put her arms all the way in front of her, but you held your tongue, not wanting to be too critical of the first dress she’d picked out.
Omega looked at it for a moment longer then said, finally, “Not this one. It wasn’t really my favorite anyway.”
“Alright, next dress then.” You smiled, opening the door to the changing room for her. She walked back in and you took your seat again.
“How many dresses did she pick out?” Hunter asked. Your smile turned quickly into a smirk.
“A few.” You said. “And we will be patient for all of them.”
You shot the boys around you a look. They all understood what you meant. Omega had been nothing but patient and encouraging as they hunted for formal wear. It was their turn to return the favor.
You sighed in relief, then decided to give an actual answer, “She actually ended up taking in 5.”
“Surprising.” Hunter looked back at the changing room.
Wrecker chuckled again from his seat in front of you, “I would have thought she’d try on the whole store!”
“Well maybe you tired her out.” You gave Wrecker a gentle shove. The door clicked again, catching all of your attention.
After trying them all on Omega made a decision.
Omega ended up going with her 3rd dress: a deep blue one with small rhinestones falling down the skirt which stopped a little below the knee. This skirt was quite a bit more voluminous than her first choice. The bodice still had sleeves, but the fabric was loose enough to allow her a full range of motion.
You were pleased with her choice and more than proud of how she pointed out the practical advantages of it to you alongside how much she liked certain aspects of it. The rhinestone pattern and sparkles looked almost like falling stars while the skirt would be a good hiding place for a blaster and a vibroblade.
“Alright, you’re turn!” Wrecker cheered, pushing you into the dressing room. You’d nearly forgotten about yourself.
“Hey! I need the dresses first, Wrecker!” You tried to push back against him but it was no use. Fortunately, you spotted Crosshair behind him holding your dresses. He passed them to you.
“Thank you!” You smiled, taking them from him and shutting the door quickly.
For the first time since you’d arrived at this shop, you finally had a moment alone. You took a deep breath, steadying yourself against the tiredness in your bones, then hung each of your dresses out before you.
You were most excited to try on….
The Dress With The Large Skirt (Wrecker)
The Elegantly Simple One (Echo)
The One With The Softest Material (Hunter)
The Dress Made With An Interesting Fabric (Tech)

The Bad Batch x Reader: You Make Them Flower Crowns
Tumblr media
A/N: Hey guess who wants to write fanfiction to put before the public again and also is in the middle of a Bad Batch fixation? It’s meeeee.
So anyway! Here is a little story for each member where you make and give them a flower crown.
Hunter:
You walked along the perimeter of your landing zone, careful to keep the Marauder in sight at all times. The planet you were on was mostly jungle, making a suspected separatist military base difficult for republic forces to find, let alone infiltrate. But for you, it meant the possibility of getting lost if you strayed too far.
One of the plants Tech described to you was growing in some abundance just behind the ship. It had edible leaves and pretty blue flowers of various sizes. You grabbed quite a few and put them into your bag before moving on to find some of those fruits you were so interested in.
By the time you were finished you’d actually managed to gather enough plants to feed the Batch, which was quite the accomplishment. Tech inspected it, approving your haul before going back to work on the ship with Echo.
You’d managed to find a few plants that had fruit, though Tech corrected that a few of these plants were technically vegetables. Regardless you tried each one, deciding that you could probably make some sort of salad with the leaves of that one plant you’d found and just put the sweet Jogan fruit type thing on the side.
You began to strip the flowers of their leaves, and suddenly an idea came to mind. You could make use of these flowers, too, if you had time.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair returned about an hour later. You’d had time to prepare some food, which Wrecker seemed pretty enthusiastic about. Echo and Tech were already eating.
“What’s all this?” Hunter asked as they drew closer. You smiled, hands clasped behind your back.
“Tech mentioned that this planet had edible wild plants.” You said. Crosshair continued on, but you reached out a hand to stop Hunter.
“What? No food for me?”
“Not yet. I made you something else, too.”
“Something else?”
You pulled the flower crown from behind your back and held it out to him, suddenly very nervous.
“You made this…for me?” he asked. You saw his eyes flicker to his brothers.
“I, uh, Yeah. I mean if you don’t want it, that’s fine.”
“No…” he said, taking it from you and gently placing it on top of his head. It fell almost perfectly over his bandana, “I like it.”
You smiled, blushing at the compliment and finally let him walk over to enjoy the food with everyone else.
“Nice crown, Hunter.” Crosshair teased. He had picked up one of the purple fruit pieces with a toothpick.
“Better than yours.” Hunter grabbed a plate and sat down next to Wrecker, leaving some room for you beside him.
Echo:
Your recent injury left you with quite a bit of time the past few days. Tech had said you’d be clear for duty in a few days, but in the mean time wanted you to rest as much as possible. Normally you didn’t like being left out, but you’d managed to take advantage of the time today.
The others had gone to get supplies while Tech and Echo worked on the ship. You watched them for a while, bored but grateful for the nice weather on this planet. This particular outpost was a small one, and your ship was surrounded by wildflowers.
They drew your attention and you remembered that you did know how to make flower crowns…maybe you could make one as a present to Echo. He’d been the one looking after you most while you recovered and you may have also…really…really liked him.
Quickly you set to work. You couldn’t really walk too far, but there were plenty of flowers nearby to choose from. You chained together some larger ones in a few different colors and then threaded in some of the small white ones all the way through, filling in the gaps. It was honestly pretty sturdy and you were happy with it.
“Echo?” You called. He immediately looked up at you, mentioned something to Tech, and jogged over.
“Yeah?” he asked, “You alright? Need anything?”
“Oh no.” you said, “I mean…I made this for you.”
You held up the crown in your hands, hoping he didn’t notice your nervousness.
“For me?”
“Yeah.” you said, “You’ve been so nice and I wanted to say thank you.”
“You…you don’t have to thank me.” he said, “Maybe you should wear it instead.”
“But, you’d look so cute!” The words of protest came out of your mouth quickly and you immediately felt heat flush over your cheeks.
Echo’s blush was adorable. He knelt down.
“Well, if you say so I guess.”
A bit hesitantly, but without objection from Echo, you set the flower crown on his head, glad to see that you’d judged the size correctly. He looked up and you smiled.
“Well? How do I look?” He said it hesitantly, a small smile on his lips.
“You look great,” you said, “Do you…like it?”
He adjusted it a bit. “Well I’m certainly not taking it off.”
Wrecker:
“Woah.”
The field of flowers before you was honestly impressive. You’d never seen anything like it in your travels throughout the galaxy.
“That’s a lot of flowers.” Wrecker agreed, standing next to you. You’d both just gotten off the Marauder and were standing next to the boarding ramp to let the others get off.
“Actually they’re a non-native species.” Tech said, “But they grow so well in this region due to the temperate climate and little shade.”
“C’mon, Tech! Don’t ruin it!”
“I’m simply providing more information.”
You chuckled a bit, reaching down to touch one of the flowers’ soft petals.
“We could be here for a while.” Hunter said, “So make yourselves comfortable.”
You were waiting to meet with a contact, but you’d arrived early.
“Hey, Wrecker,” You said, “Can you bring me some flowers? Keep the stems as long as you can. Whatever colors you want.”
“Hm? Okay sure!” he smiled at you and began hunting for some. The field had a decent variety, though most of the flowers were blues, purples, and reds.
“That’ll keep him occupied.” Crosshair said, passing by you to do some of his own exploring. You chose to ignore him.
Wrecker quickly returned with two handfuls of flowers, which was more like an armful when you held them.
“How’s that?” His smile hadn’t faded a bit.
“Perfect!” You beamed, beginning to weave them together.
“What are you doing?” He took a seat beside you and looked on curiously as you overlapped the stems.
“It’s a surprise.”
He chuckled, “You like your surprises, don’t ya?”
You grinned at that, continuing to work on a matching set of flower crowns. Wrecker started to poke at the ground, pulling apart a few of the flowers around you.
“Aaaaand done.” You smiled, holding up both crowns. Wrecker looked at them.
“Awesome!…What is it?”
You chuckled, placing one of the crowns on his head.
“They’re flower crowns..” You put the other one on your own head, “Now we match, see?”
He picked you up into a hug and you let out a surprised squeak that quickly turned into laughter as he spun you around.
“I like it.” he said into your ear, finally releasing you. He kept it on throughout the day, showing off how the two of you matched during dinner.
Tech:
“What about this one?” you ask, holding up a light purple flower in his line of sight.
“Ah, that would be a Vervain Hipna. They’ve been used in some cultures as a sleep aid, though the property is only brought out when boiled.” He took the flower from your fingers, looking at it closely and inspecting it’s petals, “Touching them is fine.”
“Interesting.” You smiled, working one of them into your current lattice of stems. The crown was almost done with Tech none the wiser.
“Many of the plants grown here have some sort of medicinal use.” Tech continued, scanning another of the plants.
“Oh yeah? And what’s your favorite?”
He considered your question for a moment.
“I suppose the multiple uses of the Mehere Lillium is quite interesting. It’s roots produce a mild disinfectant, reduce fevers, and the flower petals produce an orange dye.”
“Orange dye, huh? What do they look like?”
He looked around for a moment.
“Ah, here.” he reached down and picked up an especially large orange-red flower, “This one is a pretty good specimen.”
You took the flower from him and Tech looked away quickly, blushing a bit at the quick contact of your hands. You took the opportunity to examine the flower. It was large with 6 pointed petals that stretched from red to a deep orange.
“They’re actually grown in controlled gardens on other planets,” he continued, “Since the dye they produce is so sought after. The largest off-planet grower is actually the same one who produces the Malreaux household plants.”
“Ah, well they also make a good crowning jewel.” you said, looking over you’re completed crown. You’d connected the two ends, using the large orange flower as the centerpiece.
“A what?” he asked, turning back to you. His eyes settled immediately on the creation in your hands.
“You like it?”
“It’s quite impressive.” He looked it over, “How long did it take?”
“Not long.” You sat the crown on his head, enjoying his puzzled expression. “I’m glad it fits.”
He reached a gentle hand up to feel the crown on his head, a small smile forming on his lips.
“A lovely gift, my dear. Thank you,” he said, “Now, may I craft one for you?”
Crosshair:
If you were completely honest with yourself, you were enjoying this mission quite a bit. Time alone with Crosshair was a rarity, even if it could be quiet.
He’d been settled in his vantage point for quite some time, time enough for you to become a little bored. You were with him as a lookout. This particular target had rather irregular patrols. Hunter wanted you to keep lookout while Crosshair focused in case they sent someone your way.
Unfortunately, no one had come up the path since the two of you trudged up there that morning. Distracting yourself with the manipulation of the clearing’s many flowers felt like a good use of time.
You spared a glance over at Crosshair. He was laying on the ground, carefully waiting for the target to appear. You were sat facing the opposite direction, able to see both the path you’d come from in the distance and an adjacent one on the mountainside next to you.
The field you two were in had quite a few flowers to choose from, but you decided to go with a red theme. It matched his armor.
Finally finished, you placed the crown gently on his head. Crosshair tensed and breathed your name in annoyance.
“What is on my head?”
“I made a flower crown. Fits you perfectly.”
He spared a glance at you for just a moment, but you didn’t miss the small smirk on his face. You also didn’t miss how genuinely cute he looked with your flower crown on.
“Doesn’t sound like you’re doing much of your job then, lookout.”
“Come on.” You rolled your eyes, “I get bored and needed something to do with my hands. And now you’re head is sufficiently camouflaged.”
“Somehow, I doubt this makes a difference.”
“You know, Crosshair, when someone makes something for you, you’re usually supposed to say thank you.” You leaned back on your hands and looked again at the empty trail.
“I thought you said you made it because you were bored. Not for me.”
You froze for a second and he chuckled a bit.
“How adorable.”

It’s surprisingly useful having a real witch helping out around the village. Plagues, sicknesses and animal attacks haven’t been a problem ever since Old Mabel started practicing openly. So when some out-of-town witch hunters want to burn her at the stake, the villagers are none too pleased.

Fantasy Guide to Ships, Boats and Nautical Lingo
Tumblr media
Of all the ways to travel in fantasy and historical novels, there are two favoured ones: horses and ships. But I covered the horses already so here we have some ship terminology and kinds of ships.
Common Boat Terms
Tumblr media
Aft/Stern - The back of a ship.
Bow - The bow is the front part of the ship, the pointy part or the place where Kate Winslet stood on in Titanic.
Port - The left side of the ship
Starboard - The right side of the ship
Windward - The wind the direction is blowing.
Hull- outside of the ship
Leeward - Or sometimes called the lee. This is the opposite direction of the wind is blowing
Boom - A horizontal pole extending from the base of the main mast. It adjusted toward the wind direction in order to harness the wind for the sails.
Rudder - The rudder is a flat piece of wood below the ship, used to steer the ship. It is connected to the wheel of the ship.
Tacking - A common sailing maneuver that involves turning the bow through the wind, to change the wind direction from one side of the ship to the other, making the boom move.
Underway- This is when the ship is moving
Astern- The ship is moving backwards
Amidships- Middle of the boat
Topside- when you move from the lower decks to the upper deck
Compartments of the ship
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most ships would have compartments inside the hull and underneath the deck.
Cabins- most war ships and merchant ships would only have one or two main cabin occupied by the captain and higher crew.
Galley- The kitchen on board the ship. The galley would be fitted with tables and cabinets. Galleys were built in such a way that they were more resistant to the heaving of the ship. Most galleys were built with special stoves to stop people from colliding with them and things from spilling out of pots and pans.
Wardroom- some ships are built with a common room for the crew. The wardroom acted as a common room as well as a dining room. It would usually be conjoined with the galley.
Sick Bay- is the compartment of the ship that is given over to the injured and sick. The sick bay would hold the medicines and medical devices and would often be under lock and key.
Hold- This will be the largest compartment in the ship were the cargo or the ship's weapons.
Crew and Positions aboard the Ship
Tumblr media
Captain
When we think of captains we imagine them as blackhearted slave drivers (something akin to managers in the customer service industry) but on further research you will find that is not true. There are two kinds of Captains you find in history. Pirate captains and Legitimate Captains. Pirate captains were elected by their merit in battle and dedication to the crew. They were considered equal to the crew, only taking full charge during raids and battles. In the Navy or any legal-bound ship, captains were selected by rank and wealth. There was no equality between captain and crew as in pirate ships. Legal ships were Capitalists and the Pirates were Democratic.
First Mate
First Mate is the captain's deputy. They act as captain when the captain cannot. This was mainly seen in Navies and merchant ships as Pirates usually placed their quartermaster as their deputies.
Quartermaster
The Quartermaster was in charge of ensuring that the ship ran smoothly, rather like the ship's HR manager. The Quartermaster was in charge of supplies and had certain powers such as being able to punish the crew for minor infractions.
Sailing Master
These were officers in charge of piloting the ship. They would have to be educated enough to read a map and was a much desired position because it was a fair paying job. Pirates usually kidnapped sailing masters from ships they attacked to use aboard their own ships.
Gunner
Gunners were the overseers of any many qualified to load and fire guns. They were in charge of aiming cannons and making sure the crew were safely using guns. Most the guns were loaded by young boys called powder monkeys.
Boatswain
Boatswains or junior officers would act as supervisors, watching over the crew as they did their duties. If things were not going well they reported to the captain or quartermaster to punish the crew.
Surgeons
Surgeons handled any diseases and wounds. Since being at sea limited the amount of medicine available. Most ship's surgeons were forced to cut off limbs to avoid infection pike gangrene. Surgeons may not always be found on ships. Cooks or carpenters were often pressed to do amputations: meat was meat and cutting was cutting.
Cooks
All ships needed somebody to cook. Navies and merchant ships would often have trained cooks while on pirate ships it was just a crewmember who was handy in the kitchen.
Kinds of Ship
Tumblr media
(Not a complete list, may post more later.)
Brig- A brig is the ship that one most thinks of when you think of a ship. The brig is a large vessel, set with a pair of square-rigged masts. Brigs were fast ships and highly maneuverable. They were used as merchant ships and warships.
Galley- The galley is propelled via oars. The hull is long and slender and most of them featured larger sails. Galleys often were rowed by slaves and used in war.
Galleon- Galleons were large ships, built with multiple decks, carrying three or more masts with square raised stern. The Galleon was usually rigged with square sails on the fore-mast and main-masts.
Caravel- The caravel was a small ship with triangular sails, famed for its manoeuvrability and speed.
Longship- The longships were the ships of the Vikings. They were slender ships, narrow. They were able to keep afloat in shallow waters as well as the deep sea. Longships were able to reverse quickly, a very important skill. The longship was a warship, a raider's ship propelled by oars.
Carrack- the carrack was a large ship, often built with mass cargo holds making the most popular ship to go on long voyages on. The carrack had three or four masts.
Cog- This ship was a large vessel, the hull wide and large. The ship is propelled by a great single sail flown from a tall mast.
Junk- The junk or Chinese junk was a kind of coastal or river ship used as merchant ships, pleasure ships and sometimes houseboats. They are small ships and made with battened sails rather resembling wings.
Trireme- the trireme was a slender ship set with three banks of oars pulled by one man each. The trireme had a concave hull and usually had an underwater ram at the prow of the ship.
