I feel like with this whole 'Goncharov' (1973) resurgence thing going on, too many people are completely ignoring the underrated book trilogy that the film is originally based on. They updated the time period and setting for the movie narrative, but it's basically the same story minus that ridiculous 'Ice-Pick Joe' henchman character which they added in for some reason, and the fruit market scene that preludes Katya and Sofia's affair is originally a flashback from 'Mob Love' between Katya and her childhood friend visiting from Petrograd.

I was telling my mother about how tumblr was obsessed with this old mafia movie and while I was explaining the plot she says "oh are you talking about goncharov?"

Turns out that my mother's teacher in nursing school was IN THE MOVIE!!!!! Apparently my mom's teacher used to work at the hospital where a few of the scenes were filmed and they let some of the nursing staff act as background characters!!!

Genuinely I don't think there will ever be a friendship in star wars as funny as Rex and Anakin's. Rex won't tell Anakin a single thing about himself unprompted meanwhile Anakin's out here like "I'll tell this guy about my secret wife and then it can be both of our problems." Anakin's like "Rex is the best soldier I know and a great man" but has never once offered to have him stay for dinner. Rex always says "yeah Anakin is my friend" and then trusts him with his life only 60% of the time and is disappointed in him the other 40% percent. It feels like they shouldn't be friends but they are and somehow that becomes everyone else's problem because they do actually work well together

I think tumblr should add a 'king for a day' feature. This would do very little other than add a crown to the chosen king's avatar (how blogs are chosen is not revealed) and enable the king to 'carcinize' blogs, changing their avatar to a crab. I think this would be a good feature because it addresses no problems with the website and also would make some people very mad and that would be funny I think.
