[Lā yuṭāwiʿunī qalbī ʿalāḏālek]

Literally : my heart doesn’t agree with me on this 

Meaning : I don’t have the heart to do this; I couldn’t bring myself to do this

Notes : you can edit the tense and conjugation of the verb يطاوع [Yuṭāweʿ] depending on the speaker and the context; you can also change لا يطاوع (doesn’t agree / consent); to لم يطاوع  (didn’t agree / consent).

Example : أََرَادَ التَّخَلُّصَ مِنَ الكَلْبِ وَلَكِن لَمْ يُطَاوِعْهُ قَلْبُهُ عَلى ذَلِكَ| arāda attaẖalluṣa minal-kalb wa l ākin lam yutāwiʿhu qalbuhu ʿalā ḏalik | he wanted to get rid of the dog but he couldn’t bring himself to do it

im guessing its an aroace experience to fantasize about relationships all the time and ship things all the time and be obsessed with romance as a concept but the idea of someone flirting with and seeking you out and actually dating someone and kissing someone seems immensely weird and unnatural to you.

and also if you have had fictional "crushes" that were actually just you liking the character and the character design and confusing that with the fandom expectation of having a character you simp after.

First you procrastinate on the task because it is not a big enough deal to get done urgently. Then you procrastinate on the task because it has become such a big deal that doing it is overwhelming. You would think that this implies a middle point where it is just big enough of a deal to get done easily, however the inherent perversity of the universe's causal geometry prevents this

i went to my tutoring session early thinking maybe i could ask my professor in his office next door for feedback, but i was too shy

then my tutor assigned anOTHER MOCK SPEAKING TEST

on one hand, the arabic speaking test i just bumbled my way through was only part of my final exam, not like, a career-defining score

on the other hand, i think it's a little easier to perform on this kind of test when the examiner is a complete stranger and not the professor who's judgment i'm very familiar with and can easily visualize as i'm failing to answer his questions
