Animal Crackers | Jungkook

genre: fluff

summary: Jungkook isn’t messing around when it comes to his animal crackers.

A/N: When I saw this prompt on pinterest, I thought of Jungkook & felt the urge to write the scenario out lol. I wrote this a couple years back, so if you read this on my old account, I did make some minor edits.

You and Jungkook are so comfortable and in tune with each other that your friends resorted to calling you “thing 1″ and “thing 2.” You came to discover that he was your better half and you were his. It was no surprise when the two of you started dating and neither was it when the two of you moved in together a year after.

It’s been a few months now of living together and throughout that time, the two of you have come to share many thing besides your home. From secrets, stories, and ideas to deodorants when one would run out of theirs, your toothbrush that time he accidentally dropped his in the toilet and the last slice of pizza, there wasn’t much you kept from each other. 

You say much because there was one thing that Jeon Jungkook refused to share and that was his much loved and treasured animal crackers. The frosted kind, to be specific.

But as you once told Jungkook at the supermarket after reading a sign that notified customers to take one free sample per person: “rules are meant to be broken.”

It was your turn to do the dishes after dinner so you remained behind while Jungkook went to go wash up. You were too caught up humming a favorite song of yours and returning the last few dishes to their rightful place to notice when Jungkook walked back into the kitchen.

You let out a startled squeal as you felt a pair of arms tightening around your waist, pulling you back into a familiar chest. Your surprise was soon replaced with warmth, a smile tugging at your lips at the sudden sweet gesture. “Are you trying to be romantic?”

Jungkook chuckled, softly tucking your hair behind your ear and you instinctively leaned into his touch. He leaned his head in close to your ear.

“Eat all the frosted animal crackers again and we’re fucking done.”

“Will I get to keep Gureum?” You asked, referring to his family dog, which you’ve grown very fond of. 

It started off as you dog-sitting for his family while they went on a vacation, but after seeing how attached you grew to the cutie, Jungkook didn’t have the heart to separate you from each other. It also brought him comfort to know that you weren’t entirely alone when he would go on tour, even if it meant that little Gureum took his spot as your cuddle buddy.

You heard the way his breath hitched in response to what your words were hinting at and you took advantage of his surprised state to squirm out of his hold. “Why you…”

You let out another squeal and ran as far away as you could but it was futile as you stood no chance against Jungkook. They didn’t call him the Golden Maknae for nothing. He caught up to you almost immediately, sending the two of you tumbling onto the floor. He was quick to straddle your lap, using the strength of his legs to keep you in place as he attacked you by tickling your sides mercilessly.

You erupted into a fit of giggles, wriggling underneath him and warning him that you were going to cry from laughing too much if he didn’t stop soon.

“You only love me for my family’s dog and my animal crackers, don’t you?”

“Don’t forget your abs!” You choked out with a grin. “And your butt!”

“[Y/N]!” He cried out with laughter, staring down at you in disbelief, his tickling coming to a halt. 

“And your cute bunny smile when you show me a meme on your phone,” you continued as you caught up with your breath. “The way your eyes sparkle when you talk about your music or your latest g-c-f or the way your eyes shut and crinkle when you laugh at something stupid I say…”

His hands left your sides, intertwining them with your own, silently urging you to continue.

“That little head tilt of yours, the fact that you let me rap Namjoon’s parts on karaoke nights sometimes, your voice, your passion, your ability to excel in anything you set your mind to, the way you genuinely care for others…” You trailed off, smiling up at him and clearly enjoying the way he briefly shut his eyes as he scrunched up his nose the way you loved. 

You swore your heart skipped a beat when they opened and he looked down at you with that adorable bunny smile of his. “And the way you're looking at me right now.”

“Mmm,” he hummed, his eyes crinkling “How am I looking at you right now?”

“Like you love me. “

Jungkook rolled his eyes at your slightly cheeky attitude, leaning down to kiss your forehead. “Because I do, you idiot.”

He kissed your cheek next. “I love you so,so much.”

“Even when you eat my animal crackers.” He added as he began to kiss every inch of your face, making you giggle once again until he finally found your lips.

“I love you, too.”

“But I love you more.”

The next night when you opened your pantry for a light snack before bed, you were surprised to see two bags of animal crackers instead of one. One was labeled “mine” and the other “yours.” 

You let out a snicker and grabbed the one labeled “mine.”
