Some feral Sonic character designs! Explanation on Knuckles, he's a more prehistoric type of echidna that is, of course extinct besides him. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to use the designs if you'd like! I'd love to see what you draw!

Geez... the Smith family really does not deserve Morty... It broke my heart in the newest episode how the family treated this poor kid over spaghetti of all things... he deserves better for sure. It really speaks volumes to his character how he much he still loves them despite the way his own parents always neglect him and say such awful things to him. I really hope they explore this more in the future.

Literally, this little snippet from the Rick and Morty character guide is one that's on my mind a lot. Now, I'm not entirely sure how canon the character guidebook is, but this was written in Jerry's point of view, and it again makes me wonder WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO JERRY!?? And will we ever find out? Who knows, but it really does make me wonder what Leonard let happen to him. Jerry slips out so many weird things sometimes that I just question it over and over again like an obsessed fan like me would.

Smith Family Cult Lore Part 4
Jerry's Experience - Part 2
Beth at first decides she's going to get an abortion, as she has dreams of becoming a heart surgeon, and this will put Jerry in even more danger than it's worth. However, on the way to the clinic, Jerry's car blows a tire, and he wonders if this is a sign that what happened is meant to be. After a long discussion in the car, the two decide they want to keep their baby and raise it together. Jerry takes her home after getting his tire replaced so she can tell her mother, and he goes home to tell his family what has happened, and firmly put in place that he will be leaving and raising the baby with Beth and living the life he wants. However, this does not go over well. Louis is absolutely livid at this, as it breaks many rules, and their family's way of life isn't just something that he can just turn his back on. He demands that Jerry forces Beth to go through with the abortion, and that he stops seeing her, but Jerry stands up and refuses. He and Louis get into a physical altercation that ends with Jerry demoted and marked as a Thin-Blood. Jerry however, still tries to be defiant, so the crazed old Pure-Blood ends up dragging his Grandson to the basement and ties him down there with very little room to move, and forced to stare up at the rafters where the remnants of the rope that Randall hung himself still are to remind him of what he threw away for a girl. Jerry is trapped down there without food, water or any sort of social interaction for an entire three days despite Thomas and Joyce attempting to break him out several times. At the end of the third day when Louis finally comes downstairs to retrieve Jerry, as any could well imagine, he is completely mentally broken, not to mention sick from his Thin-Blood mark becoming infected. Once he's finally alone, Jerry makes a break for the only place he can go, which is to Beth, who in those three days, thought Jerry must've disappeared like her father and every other guy she's ever been with. Diane finds Jerry collapsed in their lawn, and is utterly horrified by his state. She immediately takes him in and refuses to let him return home after such an experience. He ends up living with Diane and Beth, taking care of her despite the trauma, and as luck would have it, their baby was a girl, so Louis didn't see a point in pursuing her, due to the fact that women never kept their last name, therefore, she'd be no threat. As fate would have it however, three years later, Beth ends up pregnant again after she and Jerry decide they want another baby. This baby however, turns out to be a boy, which somehow Louis finds out, and he and his new Strong-Blood after Thomas leaves, who happens to be Jerry's vengeful cousin, Charlie, decide that this baby cannot live, and they make plans to go after and kill him once he's born. Diane, who is already fed up living in Muskegon after the trauma of Rick leaving her, only to keep coming back seemingly just to sleep with her, decides with Beth and Jerry after Louis confronts them that they need to leave. They move out of Michigan and move across the country to Seattle to start anew and to keep Morty safe from the cult. The same snowy night Morty is born, Louis mysteriously dies of a heart attack. Today, Jerry speaks nothing of his former life in the cult, and Summer and Morty have no idea about any of it. The two of them can only wonder why they rarely ever see their grandparents, or why they don't know their father's side of the family aside from Joyce, Leonard, Ruth and Thomas.

Smith Family Cult Lore Part 4
Jerry's Experience - Part One
The middle child of Joyce and Leonard, and the father of Summer and Morty, Jerry's life in the family was probably one of the worst cases of anyone who was born into the cult. As a young boy, Jerry was much different than he is today, a much more confident and adventurous young man. However, as he was thrown into training, his confidence wavered, and after becoming a victim of CSA, lost that confidence at the age of 12 years old. His father didn't believe him when he tried to tell what happened, and Louis simply told him it wouldn't have happened if he didn't act like a little girl. At 16, Jerry met Beth and fell head over heels for her. He knew very well that law dictated that he was not to choose his own partner, but meeting Beth, a young woman who was tough, confident and pushed him to do things he'd never imagine doing before befriending her caused him to pursue her regardless. Beth would not return his feelings as anything beyond friendship for a time, but things eventually became romantic after Jerry defended her from a public humiliation at a school dance. Things were going fine after this, until Hazel, his grandmother and Louis' wife, ended up dying suddenly from a stress induced heart attack. Louis completely seemed to lose his mind after the death of his wife, immediately blaming Jerry, who had a very close relationship with her, and would tell her everything, for causing the stress that caused her heart attack. He was immediately defended by Randall, but in a fit of rage, Louis punched his son so hard that he ended up breaking his jaw and landing him in the hospital. The night he returned home, Jerry had a talk with his uncle, who came home with a wired shut jaw. Their conversation ended with Jerry telling Randall that he needs to do whatever it takes to escape the cult, as he can see how much it seems to be destroying his uncle. The next morning, Louis and Jerry find him dead, hanging from the basement rafters. Jerry admits to Louis what he said to Randall the night before, and mind already in shambles, Louis somehow twists the narrative, cooking up a story in his mind that Jerry intentionally convinced him to kill himself to clean out the filth of a Thin-Blood from their family. He publicly tells this story to the rest of The Family, much to their horror and disgust, save for a select few who don't believe a word of it, such as his siblings and mother. Jerry is promoted to Legacy-Carrier without an assessment due to this, and earns the pure hatred of his cousin Charlie, who was Randall's only child. Firmly gaslighted into believing this himself, Jerry is hysterical as he runs to Beth, and the two of them decide to go to prom together, as at the time, Beth doesn't know what else to do. On prom night, the two have unprotected sex, which of course leads to Beth getting pregnant.

Notable Members:
Samuel Smith
The founder of the cult, the first Pure-Blood, and a man of great success in a short amount of time, Samuel was so enraptured by his own self that he saw fit for the rest of his bloodline to do the same. He was who created everything about the cult, including all of its laws.
Gregory Smith
The son of Samuel Smith and the second Pure-Blood of The Family. Gregory was very well known for his harshness, and strict leadership. He was known for very harsh punishments and went to terrible extremes to uphold what his father created.
Louis Smith
Son of Gregory Smith and the Grandson of Samuel, Louis was, to date, the youngest to become Pure-Blood at only fourteen years old after killing his own father to end his terrible reign. Unfortunately, Gregory's influence had already rubbed off on Louis, as he turned out not much better himself. He is the father of Jerry's father Leonard, as well as a younger son named Randall. He was Pure-Blood when Jerry got Beth pregnant, and was the one who abused and harmed him the most.
Leonard Smith
The son of Louis and Jerry's father, Leonard, unlike the three men before him, was never particularly skilled and never really stood out. He was more skilled than his younger brother, Randall, but never had much beyond this. He did manage to be named Strong-Blood for a time, but was suddenly replaced by his oldest son, Thomas. Due to this, Leonard somewhat resents his son for the favor given to him by Louis over himself. Leonard was one who always let things happen, never stepping in or trying to change things, as he never saw much of a reason to, causing him to be very passive in the abuse of his second child, Jerry. Leonard sees Jerry as nothing much more than a disappointment, and wasted potential.
Randall Smith
The younger brother of Leonard, and one of The Family’s Thin-Bloods, Randall was never skilled himself and never really cut out for the life that his family led. He has one son named Charlie, and was named a Thin-Blood for helping his Ex-Wife escape the cult, but unfortunately, his son had to stay due to his mother not having a safe place for him to go.  Randall was a much gentler natured man than most in his family, and was more of a father to Jerry than Leonard ever was through his disappointment and turning his back on his son. Unfortunately, life in the cult caused damage that was too much for him, and shortly after his mother died, he took his own life in the house's basement, where he was found by Louis and Jerry the morning after.
Thomas Smith
The oldest of Leonard's three children and the most skilled and impressive by far, Thomas was given very high expectations from quite a young age. He showed much promise, and was even chosen as a Strong-Blood by Louis in replacement of Leonard. The Family had very high expectations for Thomas, but the horrible treatment done to his little brother, Jerry, as well as the terrible pressure piled onto himself put a very sour taste in his mouth, and instead of rising to the cult's occasion, he disappeared with his little sister the night Jerry left. Nowadays, Thomas is in a good place with a fiancé and a good paying job as a lawyer. He is still in contact with his family, but refuses to ever return to that lifestyle.
Ruth Wolfe
The youngest of Joyce and Leonard's children, Ruth was a very different case than the typical woman in The Family. Ruth was found to be infertile at 12 years old after having no menstrual cycle. Usually, this cements a woman into the place of a Thin-Blood, and that's almost what happened to her, until she overheard Louis making a plan to teach Jerry a lesson about the importance of blood, literally by slicing open the back of his neck after he started sneaking around with Beth and breaking rules with her prompting. After overhearing this, Ruth threatens to tell Joyce, or worse, call the police and expose the entire cult. In response, Louis makes Ruth an offer. He will not go through with his plan on Jerry, and he'd train her with the male New-Bloods to become a Legacy-Carrier instead of being labeled a Thin-Blood, but in return, she must keep her mouth shut, which she agrees to, seeing that as the best she can do. The night Jerry escapes, Joyce helps her and Thomas escape as well, and she is taken to live and learn at a boarding school in Seattle, so she wouldn't have to grow up in such an unnatural, cruel way. Currently, she is 30 years old and happily married to a successful business man named Scott and living comfortably in the mountains of Washington.

Smith Family Cult Part 2
Legacy Code of Conduct
1. Follow only the will and example of Samuel. Give thanks to him each morning, for he is the source of your pure blood.
2. Young men are expected to begin training at the age of five, in which they will be promoted to a New-Blood.
3. Young women are forbidden to train for combat and physical strength. Their place is in the home, taking care of our men and his children.
4. A female New-Blood is to be trained by her mother in preparation for the service she will give to her husband.
5. A New-Blood is expected to train from the ages of 5 to 16. However, if a New-Blood shows the promise of a Pure-Blood, he may be given this assessment earlier.
6. A New-Blood must pass an assessment when he turns sixteen before being given his mark.
7. If this assessment is failed three times, the New-Blood in question will be labeled a Thin-Blood. No exceptions.
8. A Thin-Blood is not permitted to have a spouse or children. This will pollute the family’s blood. The children of a Thin-Blood will be automatically labeled as such, regardless of ability or age.
9. A member of the family can be labeled a thin-blood at any time.
10. The word of the Pure-Blood is law. Every word he says is the truth, and must never be doubted.
 11. A woman will be labeled a Thin-Blood if she has no ability to bear children, or if she only gives birth to more women.
12. The partner of a  New-Blood is to be arranged and approved by the Pure-Blood.
 13. After a New-Blood passes his assessment, he will be gifted with his mark, becoming a fully recognized member of the family.
14. With that said, all Thin-Bloods will be inscribed their own mark to tell the rest of the family what they are.
15. A Thin-Blood may not bear the mark of a Legacy-Carrier. If he already bears one, it will be marked accordingly.
16. A Pure-Blood must appoint a Strong-Blood immediately after being promoted. This ceremony must take place before midnight after the death or retirement of a former Strong-Blood, or the death or retirement of the Pure-Blood.
17. Thin-Bloods must wait until everyone else has been fed before taking food for themselves.
NOTE: The mark a New-Blood earns when becoming a Legacy-Carrier is a symbol that is branded into the left forearm, if said Legacy-Carrier is deemed a thin-blood it is slashed in two places with a knife.

Smith Family Cult Part 1
The cult partaken in the Smith family would be officially classified as a Family Cult, mixed in with a Cult of Personality. The whole idea of said cult is to follow the ideals and nature of Samuel Smith, who is a distant patriarch of the family. This cult is in “favor” of the men of the family. Women are only expected to stay in the traditional role of caring for the home, and giving birth to preferably sons.
Positions of “The Family”
Pure-Blood : The Pure-Blood is the person who is appointed leader of The Family. A Pure-Blood may not be chosen at random, and must be one of the highest honorable Legacy-Carriers. A potential Pure-Blood is usually chosen between the viable sons of the current Pure-Blood. There may only be one Pure-Blood at a time, and the Pure-Blood must always have a successor. They may choose their own sons, or the sons of their sons if one shows such promise in special cases. The Pure-Blood is tasked with training New-Bloods in combat and physical strength and endurance, and also to teach the ideals and laws of Samuel.
Strong-Blood: The Successor is the man who is chosen to be heir to the position of Pure-Blood by the current holder of the position. The successor will be given extra special training and instruction with the current Pure-Blood. The successor can be replaced by another at any time as the Pure-Blood sees fit.
New-Blood: New-Bloods are young men between the ages of five and sixteen, and young women starting at five, until they are matched with a man. A young woman will remain a New-Blood indefinitely until she marries. Male New-Bloods are trained by the Pure-Blood and by  Strong-Bloods. They are taught the laws of The Family, physical strength and endurance training, as well as vigorous combat training and survival skills.
Legacy- Carriers: Legacy-Carriers are what male New-Bloods strive and train to be. They are devout examples of what it is to be a valued member of The Family. If a Legacy-Carrier shows great promise beyond the stride of a usual Legacy-Carrier, he is the most likely to be chosen as The Family’s Strong-Blood.
Den-Mothers: Den-Mothers are what the women of The Family train from a New-Blood to become. Their training is more of a traditional stay at home mother role. They are not permitted to have any male New-Blood training, as Den-Mothers are only here to take care of the men, house and children. Nothing more.
Thin-Bloods: Thin-bloods is something that all members of the Family must strive to avoid. A Thin-Blood is a man or women that is deemed incapable or incompetent in their New-Blood training, or if the Pure-Blood no longer thinks that they are a viable Legacy-Carrier. A Thin-Blood is not permitted to have children, or a spouse, due to the threat of polluting the bloodline.

Thought I'd also share my anthro cat designs as well! The weird outfits and ranks on Jerry's 17 year old ref sheet, and are from my blood cult AU that I can elaborate on if asked nicely, as I'm quite shy about publicly sharing my stories due to anxiety, but I am willing to talk further about it if anyone's ever interested!
