Exit Music for Stages of Grief

So between actually seeing the CEO's best El*n impression as his tumblr persona, the changes, and just all the general weirdness - yeah, it's incredibly negative but Tumblr as we knew it and loved it isn't coming back: it's going away.

I'm still working through my grieving process, which is why I'm even here right now. But I'm pretty close to done. I'm unsure when the last thread is going to snap, but that's sooner than later at this point.

I'm going to make it a point to put my whereabouts in my about so it's easy to find me, but uh. Just get ready for the fact that I'm not going to be on Tumblr anymore. Instead of happy, memeing community I am actively finding it a negative experience just to load my dashboard (I cannot stress enough, not because of any of you, but because of the site, usability, TOS enforcement changes, and a million little straws of weird policy problems) and it's causing me anxiety pretty much any time I open it.

Discord, AO3, and DreamWidth - my user is heyninja (in the order of highest to lowest probability of finding me). I haven't reopened my DW completely yet but I probably will soon, and it'll likely be half-private unless I'm posting fic or something along those lines.

Sometime later, when I have the $$ for it I'm going to go back to my self-hosted blogging roots, which I'll probably make an update for so it can be found.

If anybody's got any better migratory ideas I'm all ears, but the options I'm seeing so far are pretty scattershot except for Discord.

I am tired, grieving, and getting whiplash from either being angry or being anxious. Truthfully, I don't want to sit here and watch Tumblr complete becoming the socmed Frankenstein trying to be everything to everyone, no longer actually what Tumblr used to be, while the CEO gleefully picks on individual users as if punching down makes him look cool.

Mutuals: I love you. If you have discord handles or servers you wanna throw my way, just go ahead and add me, say hey so I know it's you, toss me a join link, I will be over the moon. If you're nervous about it, throw it in my ask box or message me, I won't publish things you don't specifically say to. My gradual evaporation hasn't been because I don't care about you, or because I don't want to see your posts. But I am going away, a little bit at a time. I hope we can find a way to still grab each others' hands, but I can't stay here forever, not anymore.

Bot accounts and Real people with accounts.

I’m pretty sure the tumblr community is well aware of this problem and probably loads of other people have already made posts about this, so I’ll keep it brief.

So recently blogs like this keep appearing in my followers list (these are recent ones)

Now when you get a spam blogs or p*rn bots you’re supposed to blog them. But some these blogs are actual people who are new on tumblr and have the default icon, so you’re supposed to check before who block them. But here’s the problem…

some of these blogs don’t have anything. No posts, No description, No title. So you’re gonna automatically assume that these are spam and block them.

Now I hate fact that some of these blogs belong to actual people and I’ve been blocking and reporting on blogs like these for the past few days, and that they’re probably wondering why there being blocked or reported. ( sorry to the people who own blogs like these that I blocked you)

So a couple of tips for new blogs on this site,

1.You could change the title (a catchphrase, a favorite quote, a random sentence etc.) or type small description, or whatever random stuff you like!

2. You could change the your avator or icon (it be a picture of you, a cartoon, again it’s your choice do whatever)

3.If you’re not planning to frequently post stuff and just sign in to check out other people’s stuff, just put a put a post something like this just to show you’re new here.(again u can write down anything)

fun fact!! it turns out that now when u make a new blog, tumblr forces you to follow 3-4 people before you can change your icon or modify your blog in any way!! this, of course, means that, yes, some of the "potential bots" many of us have been automatically blocking could have possibly been genuine new users who were only just seconds in to having an account!!! tumblr is literally screwing new users over!!!!

So I have been talking to some friends about a Nie bros age swap au and the idea of Nie Mingjue bonding with Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng via fishing with bare hands came to mind. I couldn't draw all my thoughts about it in just a single picture so have a bunch of sketches for a short comic instead, hehe!

There conversation gets interrupted by a loud laugh coming from Wei Wuxian who is standing in a pond and throwing a fish at Jiang Cheng. Both are only wearing pants. Jiang Cheng is yelling at Wei Wuxian to stop: You will chase all the fish away before Nie-xiong made his first catch!

The next panel shows Nie Mingjue's hands carefully reaching for a fish in the water and successfully getting a hold of it. The following page is just a single panel of him holding up the fish proudly. He is also only wearing pants, showing his strong physique and chubby belly.

On the next page Wei Wuxian is yelling in joy. Jiang Cheng says: "Stop that or all the fish will be gone! SHUT UP!" He hits Wei Wuxian with a fish, making Nie Mingjue laugh: "Hahaha! Thank you for teaching me!"

Wei Wuxian: We didn't do much, Nie-xiong is a talented student!

Nie Mingjue: if you say so...

The next page shows Nie Huaisang and Lan Xichen again.

Nie Huaisang: Tsk. Just look at him...

Lan Xichen with a dreamy expression: I am looking.

Nie Huaisang: Hm? (He looks at Xichen and notices him blushing.) Oh. I understand now.

Lan Xichen: What?

Nie Huaisang, turning around, patting Xichen's shoulder with one hand: Don't worry about it. I will leave now. Don't tell him I was here or he will be embarassed. Just know that you have dage's blessings.

The next page shows Xichen watching a smiling Nie Mingjue trying to fend of Wei Wuxian who is reaching for his catch. Jiang Cheng is standing in the background with an angry expression saying: Catch your own!

Xichen smiles: Thank you, Sang-dage.
