I'm still extremely bitter and upset about the way Bellarke was utlimately treated, especially when it was intentionally made to piss off the fans. Like, Jason f*cking Rothenberg basically wanted to send the message that he's the great mastermind and he'll do wherever the hell he wants and if he wants to ruin his show and every single character and every single ship and storyline in it then guess what he can and there's nothing we stupid mortals can do about it. Well, you've made you point dude. Congrats. Clap clap.
Seriously what a waste.

I'm currently in the process of watching "Malcolm in The Middle" for the first time ever (I know I know) and I have to say, although I'm only halfway through season 2, so far I've been feeling quite sorry for Francis tbh. Granted he was a difficult kid and very obviously so were his brothers, Lois did the best she could given all circumstances and surely she was feeling helpless, exhausted and in over her head... but still. Not only the decision to send him away does seem harsh and unfair, out of proportion and unfit for his case, but I also feel like the way his parents keep treating him once he's away is extremely cruel. They seem completely indifferent and almost act as if they stopped having an eldest son as soon as he (unwillingly) stopped living in their house.

Watching early seasons Alex Karev, his story, his evolution, etc, makes me so mad about where he ended and how they have been ruining and wasting his character over the years. I used to love him so much, then I barely even noticed him anymore. He was so interesting and layered and his growth was amazing, there was so much potential. There were so many different emotions attached to him and then from the moment Izzie left and all those new characters were introduced he just stopped existing. Lost all of his depth. Didn't have one good narrative arc in years. Hardly had any plot at all in the last seasons. Then after years of missing him and hoping to see more of him he was just written off in one last betrayal to his character. After such a long absence, years of development were thrown away just like that within 4 minutes of screentime, from which he was absent as well, and then he was gone.
Man, what a waste.
I'm so sorry for the early seasons Alex and I will always love him. I miss him and I miss caring for him.

Cristina/Burke was such a good relationship and okay it was the first one to ever get ruined in a long, never-ending series of that on the show so it doesn't even sting for anyone to rewatch early seasons and see them together. But I actually kind of miss them, and I miss all of the early seasons ships tbh like Izzie/Alex, Mark/Addison, early MerDer as well... And damn I regret the times where Cristina was happy and in love with someone who really understood her and loved her for who she truly was. They really had their own thing, they were a team, they were different but had a lot in common and they seemed to be made for each other. Just they were good together and I miss it and Cristina deserved to end up with something similar to what she had with him.

I'm currently rewatching Grey's Anatomy and just finished season 2 and OMG can we just take a minute to acknowledge how much of a lunatic Izzie Stevens was during that entire Denny arc ?
Like I've always loved her and obviously those episodes are emotionally loaded but how the f*ck did we romanticize something that insane ??
Izzie is just terrifying all the way through that storyline, not just the cutting-the-wire thing, but the way she behaves, what she does, what she says... She looks like she's high on something and needs psychiatric care but somehow everybody just rolls with it and even when it's all over everything goes back to normal so quickly.
They all act as if it was all nothing or a bad phase they just put behind them. But not only did she cross all the possible lines ethically and legally-speaking as a doctor, but on a simple personal and psychological level, nobody seems that concerned that she was being so frantic and obsessive over a PATIENT that she's known for five days and with whom she's had three Scrabble dates over a hospital bed ?? Then she literally goes and commits crime for him and it's just supposed to be understandable because it's love ?
First of all it's not even love and she is barely recognizable (when she's interrogated by Webber after the transplant ?? the crazy shit she says and how she says she's happy with that hysterical look on her face ? INSANE). Then it's still wrong on so many levels.
I mean obviously I was blinded by all the feels like we all were but damn I can't believe just how easily she got away with it, in the show as well as with the fandom.

This fandom is so fucked up, everybody is praising Snape the Death Eater who basically handed over a baby to the Dark Lord for sacrifice then spent his life bullying kids but "omg Ginny pushed a Quidditch player how dare you see anything good about her" lmao shut up
(not saying this against Snape I do like his character, just pointing out the general hypocrisy)
Tumblr media
Ginny annoys me to no end. She suddenly goes from shy and practically non-existent to amazing! hot! talented! tOuGh! The Best! People claim that she only appears to be a Mary Sue because we see her through Harry’s eyes, but if that’s the case, why does everyone else constantly go on about how amazing she is? Why does she get rewarded for hexing another student? Why is it brushed aside when she slams into another Quidditch player? It’s exhausting that everyone, including the fandom, worships her.

I'm not even an anti-snape but there is sometimes so much lack of objectivity in the pro-snape fandom, and the arguments they use to hate on James and blindly praise their fave are so much of a stretch, that honestly yeah I might start to truly hate him just because of how stupid their point can be when they are trying to defend him.

But think about it, the situation must have been so confusing for Dudley Dursley, like??? For as long as he can remember there has been this other boy living with his family and growing up with him, and his parents obviously resented him very much, probably told him something like "he's your cousin but don't mind him, he's fucked up just treat him like we do and stay away from him". And so he did. But it probably made no sense to him at all and I bet little Dudley never understood why he was supposed to not like Harry - the boy who was his age and his blood and lived in his house.
I might be wrong but I don't know a lot of only children who are perfectly content with their situation and didn't wish they had siblings. I bet Dudley felt the same way. Like
I'm an only child and it sucks, but at the same time there's this dude in the cupboard, and he's been there my entire life and I kinda consider him to be my brother but my parents won't let him be an actual part of the family so, I don't know ??
And then sure he was a spoiled little brat who got everything he wanted from his parents so he was happy with himself most of the time. He was raised by those ignorant and mean people who gave him the world, so of course he adopted their views and of course he didn't question them. Most kids trust their parents unless they're abusive with them, or unless the kid is smart enough to educate himself and grow his own opinion on life and morals and what's right or wrong - no need to say it was not the case of Dudley.
So yeah he listened to his parents and saw the world their way, and he didn't suffer because he thought it was the right way and his parents made sure he felt loved and never lacked anything.
From his youngest age he was raised to be a bully, then he went to middle school and high school and actually became a bully full time, and by that time he didn't want a brother anymore because he had his crew at school, he had his boys around him, he felt powerful and validated, and Harry was off to Hogwarts for the most part of the year, so Dudley didn't feel like he needed him anymore. He had missed his chance, it was too late.
But I bet he regretted it. I bet Dudley, perhaps his whole life and at least for his entire childhood, regretted that he was denied the possibility to treat Harry like his brother.

Think about how negatively Albus Dumbledore affected the lives of Harry, Sirius, Draco and all his Slytherin students, then come and tell me he deserves to be praised by the whole wizarding world more than other equally brave people.
I already hated him for what he did to Harry but truly he has harmed so many people and I'm just now starting to realize to what extent. Some of it might be judged necessary in the prospect of the outcome he was aiming for, though still not excusable and to me nonetheless unforgivable, BUT a lot of it was absolutely unnecessary and avoidable, and some of his actions he should have been, even if forgiven for, at the very least held accountable for.
My point is the wizarding world should honor the memory of other wizards as much if not more than that of Albus fucking Dumbledore and they should have some kind of objective insight in his life and actions. Especially Harry whom Dumbledore sentenced to a lifetime of misery then death and who still somehow named his child after him lol
