I added some Marians to my Etsy!
The black wig is  this one:

I’m not making wigs or doll clothing right now - so they are sold unwigged and unclothed!

Trying out wigs for my new doll Marian.
She’s a strange little doll, I sculpted her very quickly and then made her moulds for casting. I will make 25 dolls of Marian, and then she will no longer be made.
I see her as something in between a doll and a sculpture, and I think it’s fun to have a short term project like that. I will still want to make dolls that are produced over a longer period of time, like my tiny skeleton doll and other upcoming new ones.
Marian was never a “perfect” prototype - she was sculpted out of non-drying clay and quite quickly. I could have kept going, cleaned up the sculpt a lot more - but I didn’t want to with Marian - I felt like she was perfect the way she was - a little bit asymmetrical, “simple” joints (no elbow, knee, hand or foot joints - only arms, legs and head)...
My goal is to be able to sculpt more dolls per year - and have some that are more like Marian and others that are more “polished” and will be made in bigger quantity.

Some recent photos of my doll Marian being painted and assembled!
She is an 18,5 cm tall porcelain doll, sculpted and entirely handmade by me. I will only make 20 dolls from her moulds, so I am almost half way through casting already.

My little demon is painted (china paints, fired in the kiln) and ready to be assembled.
It’s a one off doll, I added the tiny, sculpted horns (porcelain, like the doll) when I was casting it, so there will never be a doll of mine exactly like it! (My own sculpt, and handmade from porcelain. I sculpt, make the plaster moulds and cast dolls myself)

Spotted these two skeleton dolls that I’m assembling as I was leaving the studio today. They are so cute💀💕💀Looks like they are whispering to each other.

Some of my sculpted W.I.P. prototypes. Time to get back to working on them! Also sculpted these out of air drying clay. (Boring to feel the need to censor these myself, but so tired of having posts being marked as having adult content because of sculptures nudity....🙄)

My skeleton doll, prototype that I sculpted out of air drying clay (left), and completed porcelain doll (right). Porcelain shrinks about 20% after being high fired, so the completed doll is much smaller than the sculpted prototype!

I’m sculpting one of my characters, Petronella, to be cast as a doll. So I drew a little character sketch of her and her house today after sculpting! Still a lot to do on the sculpt, it’s a super rough work in progress.

I’m sculpting one of my characters, this angry little girl from the 1800s called Petronella. This is the second time I’m working on this sculpt, so she is still very rough!
