I’ve received a few Seb Stan x reader requests that I won’t be writing out for one simple reason: I do not participate in hate on anyone. If you want me to write you as the girl that breaks up Seb and his girlfriend because you’re his one true love, you can go write it yourself. I know these requests are very popular right now, especially with the new pics, but let me repeat myself one last time: I am not going to write any Seb requests or fics in general anymore. Not until this fandom chills the f-ck out and no longer acts like Seb ‘belongs’ to them.

I’ve seen some criticism of Tony taking away Peter’s suit in SM:HC with his “If you’re nothing without the suit, you shouldn’t have it”–saying it is contradictory to Tony telling Peter he needs an upgrade in CA:CW. 

But it’s not at all.

No one on here knows this about me, I don’t often talk about my personal life, but I play ice hockey. It’s a very dangerous sport. Injuries happen all the time. It requires a lot of gear (padding, skates, helmets, sticks, etc.) which can get expensive.

Imagine if a pro-hockey player saw some incredibly talented kid on the ice. A kid with real potential. But this kid obviously can’t afford good hockey gear–they have padding that’s been worn thin, a helmet with no straps, skates with rusted screws, a hockey stick that’s been taped together. They’re likely to break a leg in a way that makes them unable to play again and derails a potential career, or, worse get killed (if their stick breaks at the wrong moment or their skate comes undone on a hard stop).

So this pro-player takes the kid under their wing (in a way); they give them some of the best hockey gear money can buy to protect them, and hopefully make them a better player, with the stipulation the kid take it slow. Learn how to play with this new gear (which is a must any time you get new equipment–to practice and learn your limitations with it). 

But the kid with this new gear abandons the caution they exhibited without it before, becoming way more reckless on the ice; they start body-checking people into boards, pulling moves on their skates they shouldn’t without more training (hard stops at high speeds towards the board), etc. 

To the pro, this looks like the kid is likely to actually get more hurt because they have a false sense of security with this new gear. So the pro takes the gear away, thinking, “Well, if you’re truly good without this stuff, then you don’t need it,” thinking this will get the kid to reexamine what they’re doing (and hopefully get them to stop this way more dangerous activity).

It’s really no different. Tony saw a kid who was doing dangerous stuff before, but albeit was staying low to the ground, with his home-made gear; but then, the second he got his Stark suit, he almost killed an entire ferry full of people. Tony recognizes that this is bad. Peter was becoming dependent on the suit–and the suit imbued Peter with a false sense of power and security.

“Double shot latte?” You knew the order - she got it every time she came in, every morning, without fail. You smirked as you wrote down the order on a paper cup, hearing a chuckle from the brunette in front of you as she nodded in response.

It had been a few months since you got the job at the coffee shop - right in the centre of bustling businesses in New York, a hop-step-and-jump away from the soaring Avengers Tower. You never expected that one of them would actually come here for coffee, but you definitely weren’t complaining.

“I’m getting too predictable,” she muttered, the now-familiar accent thick with morning sleepiness. She had a burgundy cap pulled over her head, like always, and charcoal-grey hoodie hung unzipped over her shoulders, her wallet and phone were clasped tightly between the slender fingers of her left hand and she smiled across the counter at you. “Maybe one day I’ll order something different - surprise you.”

Her eyes are blank and she’s…barely human anymore.

He’d met her in Bucharest, a student on abroad study, working part time at a cafe and who he always shared his spoils from the market with. That, to friendship, easy jokes and light affection through the guise of free coffee and then, up to her apartment for something more, to a love he wasn’t sure how he fell into.

But Bucky’s Midas touch was pain, everything he touches wilting and broken, and he had touched her with such reverence, a blessing he wasn’t sure how to have. She didn’t know who he was, didn’t know what he’d done but touched him like she knew him to the core, and once he had that, he couldn’t give it up.

And they’d taken her.

Steve and his friends had tracked her down once he realized she’d gone missing-

(He’d thought that she’d just realized what a monster he was, locked him out of her place and disappeared from his life and every bit of ice in his chest that thawed froze again, losing her love and her faith in the new world)

She’s in the compound, sitting politely, and blank eyed, like she was waiting for orders.

It made him sick.

“Doll,” he breathed out, looking at her with a kind of admiration most people savored for the gods.

“Soldat,” she replied. He closed his eyes. Her voice was always kind, warm, sipping on hot chocolate or tea, tasting like redemption.

Soldat.

“You’re in New York, with me. Bucky, remember?” His voice s level. He’s in control.

“You’re in New York, and I love you. I loved you in Bucharest, and I love you now..”

Steve is here and he feels like an audience, but all Bucky can focus on is her, her soft cheeks, the eyes he fell in love with, the hurt that loving him had caused her.

“It’s been all a lie,” she speaks, finally of her own accord and it should be a comfort, to know she has the ability, but it hurts, the way she can just dismiss his love, “They told me, how you only used me for my apartment, how you were just on the run, how you never-“

“Moya lyubov, they lied, I promise, I swear to you,” his voice now in a hushed whisper, frantic now with the weight of their intention. Every interaction, ever easy sweet kiss they’d had- it was all tainted for her now. He did that to her.

“They lied,” he said again, sadness and finality in his voice, “They lied, and I loved you, I loved you when I barely knew who I was. You loved a man who had no history and had no home and gave him one in your arms.

She reaches out to touch him, the first time since she was here, and he, well he craves the touch of her ever since Bucharest. Needs it like he’s been starving.

She brushes her fingers across his and he lets his eyes flutter close and doesn’t see as she does the same, only opens his eyes when he hears a quiet sob.

“Bucky?” She says, and there’s his girl, bright and open and yes, scared, but he’s here, so he scoops her into his arms. It’s heaven to feel her pliant and good and warm in his arms.  

“’S me,” he says, into her hair, and she holds him back, and he is so, so lucky. “S’you, too. You’re you again.”

She smiles into his shoulder and knows he might be the one to thaw her heart this time, but he will. He has nothing but love for being the one who does so.
